Nice location, walking distance to boardwalk, nice size kitchenette with Microwave, sink & fridge, clean looked like it had just been painted found some paint tape near the border, beds were okay not horrible, no bugs or anything yucky, staff is average, checked in & used key drop. Paid 112$, which was alot less for a clam festival weekend, other motels were 200+ online
The heater was very dry for air quality came home sick, and no pool or amenities. Also weird people around the area, one person walking a cat. Parking lot is very visible, no gate so cars could easily be broken into. Floor was loud I felt bad I had 2 kids so every step was loud.
Seemed fairly clean. Good location.
Bed was old and uncomfortable. The hotel is old. The room was slightly updated but has an old feel about it.
Is exactly what you should expect from a Budget In
Cheap! Within walking distance of the Boardwalk and downtown Santa Cruz Rooms (specifically the kitchenette and bathroom) are kind of oddly large. Bigger than the kitchen and bathroom of my own apartment! Nice new flatscreen TVs. Strange, but cute, little deck on the 2nd floor with lawn chairs and astro turf to hang out on. The guy who checked us in and out let us keep our car parked there both before check in time and after we checked out while we went and explored.
Room only had one, tiny trash can (in the bathroom) which, considering the large kitchenette area, seemed kind of weird. We called the front desk once to get the wifi password, but the woman kept telling us there wasn't one even though the wifi network was definitely asking for one, but that's ok, we should probably disconnect more while on vacation anyway.
Large room. Adequate parking. Close to downtown.
Unfriendly staff. Old room. Too much furniture in room. Basic soap/ shampoo very cheap.
Location was good, less then 10 minute walk to Boardwalk.
The walls were thin, both nights we heard banging from upstairs constantly. Extremely loud. The bathroom looks recently remodeled, but very poorly. There was not lip to shower, which allowed bathroom to flood easily. The staff seemed to barely speak English which made complaining futile. There was a lack of wall plugs, and only one small garbage can next to toilet. No garbage cans in room. Pillows were small and cheap. I would not stay there again. This atmosphere may just be the nature of Santa Cruz, as everywhere we went in Santa Cruz was run down and older with things broken everywhere.
