The location. It's on the San Lorenzo River and many things are within walking distance.
The staff is racist. The price is high for the poor quality and dirty rooms. Also the motel is located at a busy intersection with lots of noise.
Chose this motel because it was close to the boardwalk
Dirty. Sand on floor and my feet turned black minutes after showering. Shower floor slippery. Ants in room and bath. Noisy traffic, neighbors and water pipes. Had to go around the block to access parking. No clock, coffee, ice, let alone breakfast.
The location was good.
The lighting was poor. It was somewhat clean, but not the cleanest. The bathroom faucet would not adjust properly - only hot and hotter water came out.
We liked nothing about this motel. The refridgerator worked fine. Nothing crawled on us. It is close to the boardwalk and beach, but we did not want to go there.
Without making a list, just use your imagination: A motel built in the 50's that looks like it was repainted once in the 80's, inside and out, with amenities updated probably in the 90's. Just look closely at the sign sometime and you can see it has never changed from the 50's; nothing has been done. Have you ever stayed in a motel that does not offer wash cloths? And, just like the rest of the Santa Cruz lower-priced motels, they don't care. Because the drug addicts and prostitutes will always pay. You probably won't print this because I am so clear here, but I was appalled at what Santa Cruz has become. Save your money so you can stay in a decent motel; it will cost $200.00+ per night.
We were walking distance to the BOARDWALK!!!
There was no ICE MACHINE AT THIS HOTEL!!!! The towels were very thin and "discolored", the white was grayish and appeared to still be dirty!!!! The shower we had to let run for at least 5 minutes to get hot water. I would not recommend Capri Hotel unless you just need a bed and don't care about ammenities and/or ice. Oh yeah MAKE SURE TO TAKE YOUR OWN PILLOW because the pillows were more like flat throw pillows for your couch.
Capri Motel is centrally located in Santa Cruz, a 3-minute walk from Ocean Street and 7 minutes by foot from Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
