the hotel is really worth the money. on our trip we were to rome, milano, venice and changed few hotels that were more expensive than this one and surprisingly donatello was the best of all of them! not because we payed less, but simply because it was really the nicest one. the hotel is very pretty, if you are arriving with the car it's just outside that "zona limitato" area so you can avoid it and it's really close to everything. anyway florence is a small city so it's a waste of money to take hotel in the center. i can really tell that this was the best part of our whole trip.
clean and comfortable. highchair for kids at breakfast.
The hotel covers minimum accomodation requirements. Room however is large enough and basically clean. Wifi is charged at 20 euros per day. But to be fair, wifi is charged almost everywhere in Florence. Breakfast very poor.
Charging to use the wife, poor breakfast, and old towels.
I liked very much the hotel all in all, the location was good, close to the train station and the city centre, silent, it had a very nice patio, it was clean, every functioned very well.
The breakfast was a little poor and the coffee really bad
It was very central yet in a quiet area with a nice park to the front of hotel. You can walk to all the main attractions in Florence from this hotel. Also it is a short walk to the train/bus station. There are some nice cafe's nearby for a late breakfast or lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful at all times.
There were no "do not disturb signs" to leave outside the room, which meant cleaning staff would frequently enter the room without even knocking on the door. This was inconvenient and somewhat embarrassing. Breakfast only served between 07:30 - 09:30 which meant either you get up early or get breakfast elsewhere! Not ideal if you want to lie in a bit but don't want to go elsewhere for breakfast.
Close to everything, easy parking nearby and staff was friendly
would have liked sheets to be changed without having to request, also would have liked the floors in the rooms to be cleaned better
Great facility in a good location. Great airconditioning with a nice size room and beautiful marble bathroom. The staff was great with one exception.
We had a message at the desk and one of the hotel desk clerks, Adrain, attempted to give us someone elses passports instead of the message. He was rude when we told him that they did not belong to us and we just were looking for our message from another guest. This hotel asks to keep your passports when you check in. We chose, wisely, to wait on ours and not let them out of our sight. I would recommend that you don't leave your passport at this hotel.
Terrible breakfast !
The room was newly refurbished to a very high standard and very comfortable. The staff were very welcoming, helpful and friendly.
convenient location good value for the money
