The staff couldn't have been more informative and friendly.
The shower was very small and uncomfortable.
The hotel was great. We booked four nights and stayed for nine nights. It is an excellent spot right near the train station and a short walk to the main galleries, market and shopping areas. It is also a great base for all of the day trips in the Tuscany and Chianti region. The owner, a lady named Patricia gives you a ten minute introduction to the city and marks up a map showing all of the main sites, great retaurants and other interesting facts. We really enjoyed our stay and would definately stay again. The room was cleaned and towels replaced everyday. Breakfast was a typical continental breakfast but included a nice cappucino.
It was a great location right in the heart of Florence. Also, the owner was very knowledgeable about what to see and do in the city. She gave us some great pointers as to where to go as well as a map for the adventure!
I did feel like I was staying in my old dorm room back at college. However, the facilities were clean, even if they were shared.
Good big bedroom, always kept clean. Friendliness and helpfulness of the owner.
Breakfast area was very cramped. Breakfast itself was OK but lacked variety from day to day.
Our hostess loves her city and gave us excellent recommendations for dinner in addition to a good walking tour. She speaks three languages--Italian, English, and Spanish--that I know of and possible more than those. The bed was comfortable; the bathrooms were clean; the towels were absorbent and were changed every day; the breakfast was delicious--sharing the small table required some juggling, but the food was filling. The water for the shower was warm; the room was spacious. I would stay here again and recommend it to a friend.
