Pros: Margarida and Luis were incredible, gracious hosts who knew when to engage you in conversation versus when to pull back. Homemade continental breakfast featuring local delicacies. Also, the audio tour of the on-site winery and tasting afterwards led by Luis was fantastic! Go for the white port :)
Cons: I honestly can't think of a thing. Maybe tight parking?

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Margarida is friendly, warm, helpful and very informative about the region. The house has been superbly renovated with spacious bedrooms and bathrooms that have wonderful views over the valley and hills. The terrace is great for relaxing and or just admiring the scenery. The guest lounge is cosy and feels homely. Margarida lives on site but in an adjacent house. A bonus for wine lovers is her brother produces wine and olive oil from their own land! Breakfast is varied, plentiful and mainly typically Portuguese. A fantastic place to stay!!!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We really enjoyed the welcoming and caring of Margarida ! The place is beautiful, the view is amazing. The house has a long history and has been very well refurbished with comfortable and feel like home shared areas. The room was great and spacious and the breakfast very nice (homemade cakes... yummy) We were there with a baby and all amenities were available for him.
Cons: Nothing !
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This guesthouse is absolutely amazing! Our host was warm & welcoming, our room large & beautifully presented. There were many common spaces for the 3 rooms of the house, gorgeous lounge room, games room, dining area, pool & terrace with a spectacular view! Luis, owner & wine maker of the vineyard, conducts very interesting & fun wine tasting & discussion & has made a self guided audio tour of the vines. We learnt so much. The wine & especially his port was delicious! I would highly recommend the Douro valley, but mainly because of our gorgeous accommodation.

Pros: The boss of the hotel welcomed us when we arrived in the afternoon. We had a chat and she treated us with some local port wine, very nice. We then got to see our room, if we wanted we could change rooms after which we liked the most. All the rooms were nice and clean. The breakfast was really good with fresh fruits such as mango, strawberries and melon. They had freshly baked bread and plenty of different toppings. They helped us with different bookings for what to do and restaurants. Very friendly. We would highly recommend this place and we hope to come back soon.
Cons: Good to know is that the area is very quiet. Highly recommend you to get there by car.

We enjoyed staying in Armamar with its wonderful views and away from the tourist bustle of Pinhao.

Pros: Wow. We were blown away by the views from their upstairs terrace. Rooms were clean and comfortable, mini fridge, huge TV, awesome bathroom and hot showers. We got the recommendation to stay in Armamar only that morning in Porto and we were soooo happy we did. It's astonishing. Host, eventhough he didn't speak English, was extremely friendly and welcoming. We loved it here.
Cons: We simply could not fault our stay here!

Pros: It is a fabulous place, everything is so perfect, comfy rooms, easy parking, but above all the fantastic hosts, Maria and José are truly special persons. The breakfast is better than in 5 stars hotel!

Pros: Old world charm, classy, good views, good location and warm hospitality
Cons: Air conditioning in room not very effective. Mattress too soft for our liking and size of queen bed smallish (though this is the standard size in Europe).

Pros: Lovely friendly staff who spoke excellent English and were so helpful :) Great pool and fantastic massive varied buffet breakfast (with egg options) served at a communal table - all very grand!
Cons: Photo of the entrance gate on main road and detailed directions to the hotel would have eased our approach a little !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice location for exploring Douro Valley, perfect pool to relax beside, good breakfast, friendly staff
Cons: One night there was a party in the building below and it was a bit loud otherwise the place was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff. Facilities were excellent. Room was fantastic and the swimming pool was lovely to use. Staff helped organise our trip, including calling up restaurants to book for us. Location involved a little walk to get to the centre of Regua, but the views from the Casa were sublime.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Casa de São Domingos is centered around family - from family style breakfast with other guests and great service, including shuttle services to nearby locations and towns. The staff was very friendly and helpful. (And even had gluten free breakfast options!)
Cons: The location isn't the easiest for walking at night, as there isn't a sidewalk or much of a shoulder. Regua is more commercial than other towns in the Douro Valley, with only a few activities and restaurants.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is great if you come to the Douro valley with family and want to stay in a really nice apartment in an amazing location with great view of the river. You can easily drive from the house to vineyards near by and do some vine tasting or visit the production line and museums. The hosts are really really nice and kind. Pros: This is truly the most amazing place we have ever stayed at! There are not gonna be enough words to describe this experience. First and foremost, the host couple Cristina and Nano is the most friendly, generous and nice people you will ever meet in your life. They make you feel so welcome (with homemade lemonade and orangecake, so good) and will do anything to make sure you have a good stay. The breakfast is out of this world = the best breakfast you will ever have where almost everything is homemade. The room is perfect and the amenities are very well thought trough in every way. Modern design, clean, fresh and has everything you need. You don´t want to miss the unique experience of staying here, book NOW!!

Pros: Everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Simply fantastic. Nuno and Cristina are so welcoming, the room is beautiful, views gorgeous... not to even mention Cristina’s homr cooked dinners, absolutely delicious.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Every aspect of our stay was >10 out of 10. Communication with Nuno and Christina was always promptly responded to. The unit is very clean and modern, yet the original home dates back to 1896. Accommodation was excellent, as were the views, the gardens, the homemade lemonade greeting us, made from the lemon trees on the property. Many beautiful fruit trees and flowering bushes on the property. But the real bonus is the hosts. Nuno and Christina were accommodating to some changes in our plans, happily making a late dinner for us. Christina is an amazing cook. She should get a Michelin star - really!! First night's dinner was delicious. The view from the dining room is like a Renaissance painting. The next day the breakfast was amazing, but the homemade lemon, orange, apricot and cherry jams were to die for! As were the homemade breads and the meats and cheeses. We took home many jars of jam for ourselves, family and friends. Great location, comfort, hosts, food and overall experience. I wish we could rate you both more than 10 out of 10! Les and Kathleen
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cristina and Nuno are amazing people!! We felt like spending time with aunt and uncle! We talked a lot, ate a lot and relaxed a lot! Location is perfect - far enough from touristic tracks but still super close to see everything. Nuno drew a map for us :D with cool spots-definitely worth to see! Its super calm during day and night so relaxing in the garden was one of our favourite things to do. Room is beautiful, modern and clean. There were always fruits, cake and water for us. We had 3 amazing dinners which Cristina prepared for us - (turkey with dates <3 <3 ), breakfast are huuuuge and I mean really huge - you might want to skip lunch :) Nuno showed us his personal wine cellar and described the region in details (wine species, production etc! ) Way better than any touristic winery visit! One of our best experiences ever! Thank you sooo much Cristina and Nuno!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect! Great hosts and great location. The dinner is absolutly recommended

Pros: Very luxurious hotel, large and beautiful rooms, all very modern A balcony with lovely views and surrounded by flowering gardens. Excellent breakfast. A wine tour at 17:00 in the afternoon is very nice and included in the price. We loved very much
Cons: No one mention that we need to book a place for the spa. We arrived to the hotel early in the afternoon to enjoy the facilities because we came to celebrate a special event. Unfortunately we could not use the spa because it was busy at the time. We came for one night and could not use it for the next day

Cons: Nothing.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The bed was amazing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was by far my favorite hotel in Portugal. I was just expecting a nice place to stay in the Duoro region. What we got was a five star boutique hotel experience that was more than we ever imagined! The complimentary tour and wine tasting were comprehensive and generous. I highly recommend dinner for your first night because after the wine tour you will be in no state to drive...nor will you want to, the property is gorgeous. You are also given fresh fruit and a small bottle of wine your room, compliments of the hotel. The property is covered in fruit trees and you are welcome to pick some or they have piles of fresh fruit throughout you can just take from. They also have a beautiful sauna/hot tub/turkish bath area in the orchard that you can book to have all to yourself for an hour. Staff were wonderful, our room in the old building (built in the 1700s) was spectacular and beautiful. In the morning I did the hike to the top of the property which took me an hour round trip with copious stops for photos (am do hike regularly though, so maybe 1.5 to 2 for those for whom uphill is a workout). I felt like I was living in a dream while at Quina Do Vallado and will definitely come back if I'm even in Portugal again.
Cons: Nothing, it was perfect.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was absolutely gorgeous. One of the nicest experiences I have ever had. The tour, the pleasant staff and beautiful surroundings are impeccable. There are only a few rooms so it is not crowded. I highly recommend this to anyone who stays in Douro valley and wants to do something special.

The breakfast is amazing and the facilities impressive. You will feel at home while on holiday. Love the decoration and atmosphere. If you have a chance, I recommend having their special dinner menu in the evening. Their wine tasting experience is complete and informative. Overall our expectations were met and even exceeded! Thank you for the amazing stay.
Cons: I would have prefer a warmer shower, but that is a minor thing. :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just perfect place to rest

Cons: Leaving
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived at Quinta da Marka feeling a little bit drained after a long day of driving. Our stress dissipated upon arrival, as we were warmly greeted with a cold glass of rose and cheese plate along with a tour of the property. Within an hour of arriving, we were enjoying more of their tasty rose by the pool, while taking the gorgeous views of the Douro River, which is visible from all areas of the property including the rooms. Throughout our two day stay, we found the service to be exceptional, and the meals were delicious. We were reluctant to leave the property as we enjoyed our stay here so much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is an absolutely fantastic place to stay in the Valley. Beautiful views, fantastic service, very nice high end rooms. Good food, wine and recommendations. We all wish we stayed longer.

Pros: Food was excellent and the estate is very well maintained and beautiful
Cons: nothing....
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very kind and helpful trying to make our stay as comfortable and memorable as possible. Good food and staff made and “extra mile” to accomplish our wishes. Views are nice and great place to rest.
Cons: Towels in the bedroom need an immediate replacement as those existing are very worn out. Rooms are not big and we did expect them to be a bit larger. No secretary in the room which is unusual, especially when you need to do some work and write. Bed is comfortable and AC works very well. It is worth while though as staff makes everything happen. Thank you Angela and kitchen staff for the help and assistance.

Pros: An amazing Quinta to do absolutely nothing but relax and recharge your batteries. The grounds and the house are exceptional kept in order We would love to return and spend more time Overall a wonderful experience, great food, wine and beautiful friendly service
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing and I found the house far more luxurious than what I expected. It was truly a treat. The views and calmness (both at day and night) as simple incredible. Also, it is really close to Quinta Nova, which is a great spot to make hikes, taste wines and spend some time in the Alto Douro.
Cons: The food was ok yet not as great as the place and the facilities. Perhaps is not so easy in the location to find alternatives. It is a very rural place. Yet, I think the views and location compensate for that disadvantage.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice wine-farm (quinta) with a beautiful view on the river Douro. It is a bit remote, but with a swimming pool, terraces, excellent restaurant and nice lounge there is no need to go anywhere! Staff is very friendly.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very welcoming, gracious and helpful. They made us feel right at home. We learned a bit about how they had started their enterprising business. It was so nice to see how Portugal is working to develop tourism and create jobs for employees in small towns. We enjoyed the other guests we met at this property, too, over a lovely breakfast. The hosts created a very convivial atmosphere. We enjoyed having dinner at a cafe in town overlooking roses and a valley sparkling with lights.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We booked on very short notice for our stay in the Douro-Valley and enjoyed a very warm welcome by our host-family: they even cooked a dinner for us which we enjoyed with the other guests in their spacious kitchen - and it was delicious! The room is in a historical family owned property, was spacious and had a small balcony where we could enjoy the morning sun. Breakfast was one of a kind, ranging from extremely delicious homemade marmalades, local cheese to fresh cake - so many things to try and love. The owners really create a home away from home and we can absolutely recommend staying here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I arrived in the early evening and had not eaten yet but was offered to eat there (of course with some extra cost). The hosts prepared a three course meal with wine which was perfect. The room was great, clean and big. Of course you can not go without mentioning the nice an friendly dog.
Cons: not the cheapest of places but still great value for money. I really have nothing bad to say.

Pros: Our stay at Casa Jéronimo was amazing. The facilities were great, the bed was huge, we slept well. The towels and other linens were like new, in great condition. The bathroom was huge and everything was very clean. Breakfast was great. Our host was very sweet, even when we needed a cab at 5 in the morning after a wedding, he made sure that someone was coming to pick us up. Also we could make use of his family's private swimming pool. All in all, a great stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent in both food and hosting for our four day stay. All facilities are new and well designed. Co-location with a cafe and large supermarket is very helpful and means that guests are at the centre of village activity. Joao and all the Jeronimo family are friendly and supportive of their guests and go to great lengths to provide for every need, facilitating transport to town, and providing local information and guidance. They were always ready to please and did a great job in making our stay memorable. A great place to relax and enjoy the Douro Valley in an out-of-town village atmosphere.
Cons: Nothing - even the weather was good in early June.

The breakfast is really worth mentioning - the bread rolls and the fruit are so memorable.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The views, the surrounding, the location, the food in the bistro.
Cons: We didn’t feel like we received any personalised service (wine tasting, tour around the estate) as guests staying there. We just felt like we were treated like any other Duoro tourist. Service in the restaurant in the evening was weird - no one was really keen to talk to us or ask us where we are from/strike up a conversation/provide recommendations in the region. Everything felt very ‘forced’. No iron? The big tour groups (4 large buses) swamped us and made our stay less ‘boutique’.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: excellent breakfast with good produce and range
Cons: all good, no cpmplaints
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The premise is beautiful, situated among the Douro Valley vineyards. Views, pool area and bistro were all really nice. Breakfast was our favorite part - pleasantly surprised it was included in our stay, with a great variety of food and friendly staff.
Cons: It is not clear where is reception or check-in. We signed up for a tour/tasting, but it was overlooked by a larger group (we still got accommodated into another time). Did not like that we cannot bring the alcohol we can buy at the shop into dinner at the bistro, where the alcohol has a mark up.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lots of space and brilliant location with beautiful views. Nice wine
Cons: Missed out on the winery tour due to bag communication between ourselves and the staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great view, lovely people, nice place, top restaurant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was exceptional. The pool is very good under a delicious fig tree. The breakfast, walking trail, rooms all wonderful
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Included in our rate, we were given a wonderful breakfast each morning on the terrace. Quinta do Tedo also gave us a wine tour and tasting. We learned a lot about wine production. Our French guide was very knowledgeable. Views from Quinta do Tedo are amazing! Last of all, we really liked the three dogs that were on property to greet us!
Cons: We would have liked watching TV with more than just four Portuguese channels. The attached cafe/restaurant is a little bit pricey for tapas.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Easy to find and parking was good. Lovely dinner and breakfast.
Cons: All was lovely and a good location.
7.5 Good
Pros: Beautiful setting, lovely restaurant and pool area, wish we had more time to just enjoy the premises. The guided tour was quite informative and engaging.
Cons: Staff engagement was a bit inconsistent. From check in, to port tasting, to dinner, to check out, it felt like we spent time waiting around for someone to notice/help us. That said, once someone did notice, the service was quite good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location by the river with magnificent views, close to Pinhão and Peso de Regua. The Estate is beautiful, staff very friendly and the food served at the restaurant is delicious (we had lunch and breakfast).

Pros: Quinta Santa Julia was such a beautiful and interesting place to stay. The views are breathtaking, the gardens spectacular, the house so historic and beautifully decorated with period pieces. Breakfast in the garden overlooking the valley was wonderful with homemade cheeses, jams, and Delicious fruit picked from trees on the property. The pool was lovely and a nice break from the heat. Our room was very beautiful and well appointed. I highly recommend Quinta Santa. Julia for an authentic Duoro experience.
Cons: There was nothing not to like. Beware of your GPS and just follow the signs if your gps wants you to take a turn in an opposite way.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff full of little attentions to make our stay superior
Cons: There was nothing to dislike
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice place, remarkable good room and bed. Everything was as we had hoped or even better. Breakfast was excelent with homemade products and the staff was very helpfull and made our stay the best og 7 stays in the Northern Portugal. The winery has excelent wines to a fair price. The vies from the quinta is breatless. We had many interesting taks to the orner, Mr. Eduardo, which we enjoided very much. We hope to come back another time!
Cons: We liked everything.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great and responsive proprietor and staff. Good breakfasts overlooking a magnificent view. Proprietor went above and beyond when our car broke down, helping us deal with the tow truck driver and personally driving us to a nearby dinner spot.
Cons: It's a very old building, and the rooms get cold and drafty depending on the weather. We were comfortable under the blankets, and didn't ask for a space heater or anything. Just be aware that you're staying in an historic building with all that entails -- tons of charm but also not 100% climate controlled. Also, the proprietor shared lots of views about people and groups that might strike some as old-fashioned.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property has an excellent view of Peso da Regua and the landscape you expect to see in the Duoro Valley. The pool was beautiful and the gardens were exquisite. The staff was very kind and helpful with breakfast and showing us into the property. Eduardo, the owner, was fantastic. He met us when we arrived and gave us a short tour. He showed us where he makes his wine and brought us some bottles that we purchased to enjoy by the pool. He came out and chatted with us in the morning at breakfast and gave us a grand tour after we came back from our daily activity. He has many fascinating stories to tell and share. He also showed us his personal collection of wine, port, whiskey, and alcohol and the private chapel connected to the house. You can tell he is very knowledgeable about wine, port, the region, and history, and cares deeply about his property and the guests who stay there. Be sure to buy a bottle or two (or 6
Cons: The only thing we had trouble with was finding the Quinta using the car navigation. For future visitors, use Google Maps instead of a car GPS and you should not have any troubles finding the place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quinta was beautiful. All staff were helpful , friendly , and informative. We enjoyed our stay and would like to return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast served in the courtyard. A coffee/tea bar was open at all hours. I took advantage and sipped a cup of coffee each morning while taking in the spectacular view. Superb location high on the hillside overlooking Peso De Regua and the Duoro Valley. Large rooms with spacious bathrooms. With expansive vineyards and orchards on the property, there were great opportunities for nice walks. Eduard ,the proprietor, was extremely personable and a pleasure to get to know. He was full of advice on what to see and do in the area . He made our stay very special.
Cons: The drive down the hillside to Peso to restaurants took about 20 min., but that was the price we paid for experiencing a beautiful secluded property with spectacular views.

Pros: Unexpected beautiful.relaxing. fun
Cons: All good

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was one of those once in a lifetime experiences. We spent a couple of days staying as guests in a massive, old chateau of a farmhouse in the middle of a working Port vineyard and deeply enjoying the company of Mr. Eduardo da Costa Seixas, whose family has owned the farm for over 400 years. The staff was wonderful and we got to know each of the local ladies who served us our delicious breakfasts on the terrace overlooking the valley. The WiFi in our room was a little iffy, but the walls are 3 or 4 feet thick and made out of stone. The WiFi was fine in the guest living room and, besides, we'll take those massive walls any time! Our accommodations couldn't have been better. They were spotlessly clean and wonderfully traditional. We were, frankly, worried about booking a Quinta, since we didn't have a car, but the farm is an easy taxi ride (10-12 euros) from Regua and there is a nice restaurant, with an awesome view of the Douro, located just a short walk from the Santa Julia gate. Mr. Costa Seixas recommends the grilled octopus and it was terrific!
Cons: We can't imagine a more charming place to stay or a more interesting host.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: This property boasts a great location in the Douro river vineyards. The staff were pleasant and the food was adequate.
Cons: It was much too expensive. Everything was fine but not of the quality one should expect for the price.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Amazing property and stunning views - truly breathtaking and a once in a lifetime experience!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is remotely located with 30 minutes or more to other places on narrow twisty roads my husband loved to drive. The restaurant offers delicious food, but the small, set menus, which didn’t change during the 4 days we were there, did not offer enough flexibility for us. Also, they only offer their own wines, but will open and serve your wine without a corkage fee. We enjoyed hiking the property, lazing by the pool, leisurely breakfasts, and our first dinner. The views and decor are flawless, service is fantastic.
Cons: Our meal preferences did not match the limited tapas selections and there was no flexibility permitted in the main meal serving. Our 2nd night, after being told we couldn’t share a dinner, we reluctantly ordered two meals. The entrees that arrived were not what we ordered. The waiter acknowledged the mistake, apologized, and took them back to get the proper ones. It was 45 minutes later when we got well done lamb chops (absolutely NO pink) instead of medium rare as ordered. The waiter again apologized and offered to get us replacements. It only takes 10 minutes to correctly cook the lamb, so it was obvious our meal went to the end of the service line. It was well past time for us to eat so we declined. Other than the waiter, we never received any apologies or consideration from the chef or manager. Our following lunch and dinners were eaten offsite. The restaurant at Quinta Rosa was very nice and far more flexible. Also, a roadside restaurant directly on the other side of the river offered delicious local foods as great prices. My favorite was the fried quail plate.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: View and room were very nice. Tapas plate was fantastic.
Cons: The price seems high compared to other places in area. The accommodations and service were comparable. It would also have been nice to have a couple of small tastings included with the free tour for guests.

Pros: Quinta Da Azenha is a great find in a beautiful area - easily accessible overlooking the river. The total experience was outstanding - the authentic character of the property, the comfort of the common areas, the modern rooms and bath, the delicious breakfast, the welcoming family staffing the property, the beautiful grounds, and the very reasonable price.
Cons: No complaints at all, but note that the the outstanding modern restaurant on the river near Quinta Da Azenha is closed on Tuesdays and for lunch on Wednesdays.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing with nice river view especially during sunset.
Cons: It is quite hard to find staff to ask something during day time. If you are just looking a good place to stay, it is good. If you are looking to have snacks, lunch, dinner etc you need to chase the staff. And the challenge is they only speak Spanish, Portugese and French.
7.0 Good
Pros: our bedroom window looked out onto a scene of rural tranquility and the duoro river; a place to get away from it. nearby are good-to-great restaurants and an outstanding vineyard and tasting room (quinta do tedo).
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Owner of the Qunita is welcoming each guest nicely and is very helpful. Nice is as well that breakfast is in the family kitchen on one big table with all hotel guests, thsu you get to know some persons during your trip. Our room was nicely decorated (roses behind the bed on the wall) and had an breathtaking view to the river and the Douro valleys. The most excisting was that the owner invited the guests to produce wine by stepping on the grapes.
Cons: Driving up to the Quinta is in narrow streets, but at least the way is short, well marked with signs and on the evenings there is enough light.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good countryside hotel in a very nice region with a tremendous view to Douro river. The owners are very kind and are there always to help. The breakfast was served in the kitchen owners and was delicious. If you want to rest, you must choose this countryside hotel because you will only hear the birds in the morning. The hotel have a covered place to park at least 6 cars. Quinta da Azenha is higly recomended!
7.0 Good
Pros: We stayed in 9 hotels in Portugal. This is the most excellent one. The host is genuinely nice, not just being commercial. He has his own cellar making port. We were offered unlimited amount of welcome drinks (home made port). Although we did not had dinner at the hotel, we were offered some soup, dessert, wine and dessert free. The house is nicely decorated in a traditional Portugal style. The location is incredible with a fantastic view of the river. It is like traveling back in time to a quite Portugal village for a very authentic experience.
Cons: Not near any big city. You have got to drive. No internet - a blessing if you want a real break!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel family were very hospitable, the location is good for the Douro region.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This is the best place of stay during our 14-days trip in Portugal. We have never stayed in the 600-years old house, we have never drunk such a tasty port wine made by the owner, and we have never met such hospitable owners. Damien and Louise very good speak French. They can provide you with all necessary information. And what delicious baked pudding and egg desert have been prepared by Louse. This is a calm and quiet place for a rest; there are magnificent views to the river and vineyards. The hotel is well-equipped cozy and comfortable. There are direction signs to the hotel on the road. The best way to come is to turn on the second second sign (from the side of Regua). The parking area is enough for 6 cars.
Cons: The field for comments above is too small for all my opinion about the hotel

Cons: A bit far from the center of town. I didnt like the air freshener in the room. Am allergic to those air fresheners. Coughed all night.

Pros: The owners and staff were excellent and made us very welcome. The conversion of the house to a hotel was fantastic both in the preservation of the old Port cellars and the wonderful quality of the modern accommodation. A little bit off the beaten track but well worth it for the fantastic views alone.

Pros: Hospitality, generosity of the host (port wine glasses offered) , smily, concerned for our well-being. Room was perfect good size and with a great view and terrace Breakfast on terrace was fantastic with still the view on vineyard terraces . Pros: breakfast good, company good, awesome setting
Cons: a bit difficult finding it, we were tired as we had just arrived in Portugal but maybe getting lost added to the charm.

Pros: The view from the balcony was beautiful. It was the perfect place to stay after a long day driving. As soon as we sat on the balcony and enjoyed our wine from an earlier wine tasting just 5 km up the toad, relaxation was immediate and the view awesome. The delicious breakfast the next morning ensured a good start for the day. And we met new friends at the breakfast table and we shared our experiences from our journeys. Highly recommend.

Pros: Everything’s prefect!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owner was not able to be there when we arrived but his relative was very generous, welcoming us with a glass of port and providing us with contact info should there be a problem. When the hot water didn’t work the next morning, the owner was very responsive and the problem was fixed immediately. The views are amazing. We would return if we’re ever able to come back to the Douro Valley.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: + The balcony with amazing views + Comfortable bed + Breakfast
Cons: - There was no kettle for making tea or coffee - Very low water pressure in the shower
6.8 Good
Pros: The views are fantastic, the room was immaculately clean, and the owner did everything possible to make our stay pleasant, which we appreciated very much. He even ran out to buy special food for breakfast when he learned that one of us is a vegan.
Cons: Our room had three solid walls and one wall consisting entirely of a sliding glass door through which we could enjoy that wonderful view. The sliding glass door was the door through which one entered the room; there was no other door or window. The problem with that was that there was no wall or gate of any sort between our room and the terrace in front of the building, and no wall or gate between that terrace and the street. This meant that another guest or a stranger off the street could come and look into our room or open the sliding glass door if we’d left it open for ventilation. So we did not feel comfortable leaving the door open at night for fresh air or leaving the curtain open unless we were fully dressed. And that meant that much of the time we were in a small room with the curtain closed, which was not very pleasant. In addition, the matress on the bed was not very comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very kind and helpful!!
