The staff was extremely helpful and pleasant. The hotel is very close to the wonderful beach. The in-hotel restaurant has great local food. We highly recommend having diner there.
very nice surrounding
i thing, i liked everything in this hotel
Immaculately clean Beautiful gardens imaginatively decorated bedrooms family atmosphere Excellent lido and beach with restaurant 100m away They seemed disappointed that we didn't eat in their restaurant most evenings - so this felt a little pressurising
The loacation at the beach and its location close (within 30 to 45 mins) to many of sicilies attraction in the west.
The staff were very helpful and the hotel extremely clean. The food was good and the service excellent.
Very good location. Breakfast and coffee are perfect. Close to the beach. Very nice garden. Well equiped. Staff are very nice and helpful and speak English. The hotel has inside parking places. Few tv channels.
Warm decor of the room, cleanliness (esp. bathroom), location (when you visit the beach - it is quite close to it), breakfast, staff spoke good english. There is actually no proper restaurant in the area, just 2 pizzerias, but it was enough for us.
Location and staff Decor
the place is good but it was not organize for getting guests in the morning, nothing was ready- not on breakfast. we didn't like the breakfast at all- things were not freash , things were missing
Lovely clean rooms, beautiful pool and grounds. Majority of staff helpful and friendly. Quiet and relaxing (we went out of season a little and hotel is set up for weddings and other functions so may not always be so!!). A little remote and unless eating at the hotel not much choice around. Car definitely needed and beach a bit of a rough walk from the hotel. A little tatty around the edges.
Staff is frendly. Restorant is good. Evry weekend nights in this hotel (friday to sunday) private party untill to 3-4 morning, very loud music and italian voicec. Baby no sleep, I and my wife to.
the location and open space the room should be a bit bigger
breakfast, however it isn't a real 4 stars hotel ...
polite staff. very green. we did't find way to the beach. About sauna were not informed. Cold in the room. Heating with aircondition was too loudy to keep it at night on.
The personal touches and helpfullness of staff
The Hotel was very close from the beach. We were a bit disappointed about the cleanliness of the beach as it was only clean in July/August. Not many restaurants around so the mini kitchen comes very handy. In Avola you have a big supermarket even open late on Sunday! Or you can find small shops in the town nearby Cassibile.
A lovely garden surronds the building and are maintained daily. The bedroom was also fairly big (and a very comfortable bed), with decent sized kitchen and bathroom. We stayed in appartmant 8 for and were disappointed with the experience for the price. It's approximatley 5 mins walk to the beach and close naighbours were buildiing. Staff not particularly helpful, maybe because of the language barrier (we only speak English and French). Room was decorated for a little girl with pink polka dots on the tiles and pink walls in the hallway. It must have been a grand house but was re-done as a hotel on a budget. The kitchen cupboards felt really cheap and had nothing else for cooking but an electric hob. The fridge was making quite a noise, shutting the kitchen and bedroom doors filtered noise. Bathroom had a large corner bath. Water was slow to warm up, no hot water in kitchen. Below average breakfast.
Everything was as presented in the hotel description. Mosquitos in September. Mosquito repellant can be bought in a local shop at cost of 6Eur. Also, there is no internet; it would be useful to have.
The appartement was clean and good equipped. The top-level terras is very nice, but too hot during the day of course. Small kitchen. Garden is nice, but especially at night. Environment of Fontane Bianche... it's not a very nice neighborhood. There's a big beach, but's it's not that nice. Lots of wind in the afternoon.. so if you have kids.. Also, there is not much to see/do at the location. Found just 1 resto and that one wasn't very good in terms of atmosphere. Also a problem: there is nobody to help you when you arrive. People are at the Hotel Villa Del Mare and there is no thing to warn them or something.
The staff is very helpfull and nice. The hotel is well maintained in a quiet area and the rooms are nicely furnished. Beautyfull garden, enclosed free parking, complimentary breakfast. Gabriela even prepared home made pie and mandorla ice ream for us. Very nice. Difficult to find, better take the side road allong the beach coming from the airport and not the highway exit as indicated in navigaton. It took us more than 1 hour to find the hotel at night. Coming from Germany we had to adopt to the small size of the roads and did not believe in the directions. The area around the hotel is not as nicely maintained as the hotel.
There are a couple of beach clubs nearby to the hotel which are not bad and the beach and sea is very good At night the noise from clubs can go on until 3.30. The general area is not maintained as it should be which let's the whole image if the place down. The Internet is not through the whole hotel and the attitude of some of the staff was very poor. This is not an hotel on a clean road that you walk out of and access the beach or have a lot of nice bars and restaurants nearby. But, the beach clubs across the road are good and price is reasonable to use them.
Great swimming-pool, nice staff, comfort. Very disappointed with the location. Even if the hotel is situated in the road in front of the beach, you don't have direct access to it. You have to walk a few blocks to the public beach entrance.
Excellent new facility, very kind hotel staff Music coming from near by hotels/clubs sometimes disturbing till late (on some nights)
The hotel is new, spacious bathroom, nice towles. Very noisy, no insulation, close to the sea and the night bars, impossible to sleep, sometimes until 3 a,m., no view to the sea. Not on the beach, the first picture is decieving, no internet in the rooms just in the hall.
hotel, staff, food, pool location
Building itself was fabulous. Staff were very friendly. Very relaxed atmosphere. Like a home away from home, but more attractive. Loved coming back to the hotel. Felt like we were coming home. A bit expensive, but we knew this in advance. Subsequent hotels on our trip made us realise, however, that this place was a bit special. When one goes to Sicily one wants to stay at a hotel which somehow reflects the history and culture of the island. Unlike Lady Lusya, too many hotels on the island follow the American model - too flash, too shiny, too sanitised. The Lady Lusya offered us tradition and history, and this was more important than the expense we had to incur to stay there. A wonderful place.
location, kindness of the staff, beauty of the hotel, very big room poor choice at the restaurant, a pity in such a country with such good products
Location and a real sense of character and style. The setting was magnificent and the main house has been beatifully restored. It was also very heartening to to enjoy contact with the owners who showed a genuine sense of personal interest and concern for the well being of their guests. The young barman/waiter was most engaging and did much to make you feel both welcome and valued as a client. Meals were slightly expensive and varied in terms of their real value for money. However, they were in keeping with the overall ambience. Over a period of nights, the range of dinner options wasn't perhaps as imaginative as it might have been. The mattress was very unyielding but this seems to be a common feature of Italian sleeping surfaces!
Quiet, civilised, good if idiosyncratic service, lovely old building, nice setting.
Well presented - lovely gardens- good pool Dinner was barely adequate
the swimming pool poor state of beds and furniture around the pool
The staff and the grounds are the best things about Lady Lusya. Our first night happened to be my birthday and they acknowledged that with a complimentary bottle of champagne. They were very kind. The grounds are very beautiful and well manicured. The main house is really nice and rustic. Dinner was good, but nothing really special. The bed was so uncomfortable. I had a backache after sleeping there for three nights. The shower was too tiny and water ran all over the floor. So I did not enjoy the shower at all and could not wait to get home to my own shower. However there are other rooms with larger showers and I am sure better beds so you may be able to switch rooms.
