Pros: Beautiful spot in the mountains. Nice room with new carpet and bedding, but not totally renovated. Friendly helpful staff. Nice outdoor pool with lovely deck to sit on, but chairs have no pads and are quite uncomfortable after a few minutes! Fire pit for evening campfires. Nice playground for kids.
Cons: Walls are very thin - you can hear EVERYTHING in the next room! Wall air conditioner goes on and off all night- no setting for constant fan. Smokers sit outside the rooms smoking which means you may have to walk through clouds of smoke to get into your room.

Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful. For the affordable place, it was nice. Rooms were a bit dated, but their bathrooms are updated and they provided a fridge and microwave. I had my toddler with me and he was comfortable and staff was welcoming to children. The place is really clean! I would stay again. A good stay if you are looking for a cheap place but don't care about out of date rooms.
Cons: TV is dated, and I heard my neighbors a little muffled. However the air unit muted their voices, so me and my toddler son slept really good.
When visiting Franklin, Colonial Inn Franklin is a great choice to consider. Guests looking for a bite to eat can check out Thai Paradise, which serves Asian cuisine and is open for lunch and dinner. Bonuses like refrigerators and microwaves are offered in all rooms, along with deep soaking tubs and 24-hour room service.
Cons: I would have rated the staff as excellent (which all but one was) except for a rude note placed on my motorcycle while I unloaded.

Pros: The bed was comfortable and appeared to be clean. Room has microwave and mini fridge. They are pet friendly. Not bad for the price.
Cons: Shower didn't drain well as it was clogged with hair. Found a beer can under the edge of the bed, made me question the cleanliness of the room. We stayed over new years weekend, lots of other hotels booked up but hardly no one at ours even though they didn't raise their rates. Other guest seemed like they were on drugs honestly. I wouldn't bring children here.

Built as a school in 1887, the Franklin Terrace is listed in the National Register of Historic Places. The terrace is a lovely two-story bed and breakfast with nostalgic charm and comfortable accommodations. It's wide porches and guest rooms filled with period antiques will carry you to a time when Southern Hospitality was at it's best.
Pros: Great water pressure, so the shower is nice. The built-in sofa at the window is a favorite feature of all their rooms. Most importantly, the rooms are kept clean.
Cons: The very cheapest and most minimal of toiletries in the bathroom. Additionally, the breakfast has been pared down to only breads (mini-muffins, tiny bagels, waffles) and a handful of cereals. No fruits, no proteins. Hardly worth the time.
