It was a nice and very differrent hotel When you have plenty of availability (as was the case when we were there), the hotel should go out of their way to upgrade clients at check-in. This costs nothing for the hotel but it will dramatically increase the value/experience and the likelihood of customers returning for another stay. Also, I strongly suggest you move away from the fancy gourmet dinner menu as this has nothing to do with Tuscany
Beautiful grounds and excellent location for exploring Tuscany. Very expensive...especially restaurant. Improve stairs to upper parking lot.
Efficient staff, very good food & wonderful position.
The castle is magnificent. The setting is beautiful. The 'town' of Gaiole is within walking distance and has a lovely atmosphere (and great fruit and veg shop). Goos location to explore Chianti. The food (breakfast and dinner) was superb and so beautifully presented (real silver!). Rooms are a little dark. It would be nice to contrast the old with the new by modernising the interior and lightening up the rooms with white linens etc. (which was so nice in the eating areas)
everything except the weather. rain
There was nothing...NOTHING I did not like about it.. It was everything I had hoped it would be. My wife came over from the states on an 8 day vacation as I am here on business and we stayed 1 night there and she literally cried (with delight) when she saw the place. It was truly Tuscanny as we imagined.
Peaceful and relaxing with excellent service. Very good food.
Everything... The hotel is well located, has a lot of charm, the staff is good, the place very peacefull, the food amazing... There was not often staff available to serve you at the bar, would you like a drink outside of lunch/diner hours...
I enjoyed both the place/location and the hotel. The staff in general was extremely professional and hospitable. The restaurant services were also excellent. -
Excellent hotel . Excellent food but overpriced.
Beautiful Tuscan hotel with great location (close to many castles and vineyards) and nice amenities (great pool). The restaurant was very nice with excellent food and the staff was always helpful.
we like the location and the chef restorant.although the dishes was very littlle we upgrade the room to jonur suite but we did not like it. we did not like the breakfest. it was very poor, no fresh bread or rolles. evryhing was limitied and not generosly at all .the coffee was excellent
It's beautiful and peaceful hotel meadle of nature. We like everithing.
Although the road up to the hotel is unpaved and a small challenge, what awaits you at the top is well worth the drive. The hotel is absolutely beautiful, clean, and comfortable. The staff are extremely accommodating and friendly. A special thanks to Alessandro, who made for an excellent manager as well as a stupendous source for how to plan our days in Tuscany. The hotel restaurant is a gem with (we feel) a world-class chef who made the most scrumptious meals. We were sorry to leave, and highly recommend the Hotel Le Pozze Di Lecchi to all! Dawn and Jim Pisello, USA
Everyone was amazingly gracious and friendly
beautiful hotel in a wonderful setting, clean and spacious rooms, great staff, nice breakfast, quiet and peaceful surroundings. The skinny (barely any room to pass if a car is coming from the other way) 1.3 km. dirt road to the hotel from the main road was inconvenient, at best.
Quiet, beautiful setting, good restuarant Road to hotel
The Hotel Le Pozzi Di Lecchi is in an absolutely beautiful location. The grounds, the gardens, the pool area, are all stunning, The rooms are comfortable, with very attractive furnishings,, The hotel staff could not have been more helfpul and friendly. The food was great, the whole experience could not have been better
Enjoyed the 3 days very much. The staff was very helpful especially Sandro. The meals were excellent. My one interaction with the Chef was most positive. Since our room was closest to the dining room the noise after 10 PM (22:00) was somewhat annoying.
This hotel was the best of my last Tuscany trip. The staff/owners were some of the nicest I have ever met. The food was delicious and the chef very passionate. The pool and location were incredibly relaxing. I wish there were more of this style of hotel in other towns and areas. I will definitely be back!
Highly recommended. A beautiful old mill in an isolated environment in the Tuscan hills tastefully converted into a hotel. We were greeted by the owner with glasses of sparkling rose wine. The owner, his wife and the staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. We stayed for dinner, the food was excellent if a little pricey: we were expertly guided through the menu & wine list. After dinner we watched fireflies in the grounds. Breakfast the following morning was also excellent. We left with every intention of returning. A little difficult to find - more detailed directions might help
Hotel Ultimo Mulino was a fantastic hotel. The staff were so friendly and the rooms were fantastic. And all in a great location.
Hosts were exceptional. Providing great food, wine, and information on the area. They were most helpful when booking excursions and wine tastings, and reacommending reastaurants. Beds were a bit firm but we found this in Rome also, so perhaps this is standard! Shower/bath was very hard to use without getting water all over te place.
The sraff was very hepful in assisting us with recommendations as to wineries and olive oil in the area. Dinner at their resturant was excellent.
The kindness of the staff, the splendid isolation, and the very warm public areas of the building. The room was very small.
The room was large and well equiped, the staff were also helpful and friendly. The pool was a little way from the hotel down several steps and it lacked a pool bar for food and drinks.
Good personal service Breakfast big minus. Dificult to find, no information on the road.
The friendly service and people, the beautiful view, the swimmingpool facility, and the beautiful room. Everything was perfect.
beutiful hotel in a wonderful location hotel staff was not very friendly breakfast was not at the level you could expect for this type of hotel (e.g. poor quality of coffee) the hotel bar is not very inviting (no atmossphere, dark)
The shower did non function, after 3 days we fixt it ourself. The doorkey did not function!
great place, view, peace and quiet
Beautiful location, facilities, etc. I would return again
We were very impressed! The hotel is beautiful and the location was perfect. We had a wonderful eight days and can't wait to go back. Janet & Gerard from Amsterdam The only disadvantage was getting a drink in the evening. Once the restaurant had closed the bar opened, which was about 10pm. The same staff were running both. The staff work very hard and very long hours.
the view from the pool
Good Location. Prompt staff. Really good restaurant at the hotel. Excellent choice for the money.
The location and hotel were very nice; the room was clean and nice breakfast was rather poor: just eggs and bacon, and one kind of cheese... no vegetables...
Location The wellness centers limited hours of operation
happy hour with wine and amazing food...beautiful location and peaceful barking dog outside our room at night
Excellent restaurant with very helpful staff, wine shop was also excellent Staff on reception were a bit disorganised and on a couple of occasions forgot to book our table for dinner
Really great place to stay. Beautiful surroundings. Very helpful and friendly staff. The restaurant was good, but I missed some classic and more simpler dishes. Since the menu is very limited, after two days, you need to go elsewhere to have lunch or dinner.
We loved the place so much, we stayed an additional night. The staff was friendly and accommodating, the building and surroundings are incredible, and the dinner from the on site restaurant was fantastic. This is not a negative, but just a heads-up: the cooking classes book up in advance (as one would expect!), so if you are a last minute guest, as we were, this might not be an option.
Unique atmosphere and very good service.
the bulding is beatifull and the view is amazing the breakfast is very bad, service so so
Charming and ancient monestary from from the 12th century. Nice and relaxed atmosphere. Kindly and discreet staff. Excellent restaurant. Guided tours and wine tasting.
Great location. Great restaurant. Staff was very helpful and accomodating. Wine tasting was very good. Facilities, rooms, building, gardens, grounds were beautiful.
The hotel is a really cool place to stay Beds were very hard and there was no one at the front desk when we wanted to check out. We were also hoping to take a cooking class but they werent offering the one day class when we were there.
Our stay was a great experience, the general vibe and feel of the place was amazing. It felt like we were the only people staying there at times it was so empty. The food at the restaurant was also amazing with enough choice to keep you wanting to go back for at least a couple of days. Relaxing by the pool and strolling through the gardens was a great way to unwind after the busy cities of italy The only thing that I would have changed I'd to be able to charge meals from the restaurant back to our room which would have meant you wouldn't have to worry about your wallet for the whole stay but this was only a minor detail.
The setting high in the chianti hills is very peaceful and the view fantastic. The main attraction of this old converted monastary is that it is a winery making highly rated chianti and they offer wine tours and tastings. The wines are available both in the rooms and in the excellent restaraunt. The facilties and standards of comfort are not quite as good as one might expect in a 4star hotel and we did not find the water hot enough in the simple bathroom either in the bath or shower.
Nice view, great pool. The window of my room was directly above a noisy courtyard where people talked loudly until after midnight. Also, the air conditioner did very little in the room.
Very friendly personnel clean nice swimming pool /
Excellent bed & breakfast accomodation in a quiet area - decent swimming pool - spacious semi-private terraces near the rooms poor cooling capacity of fridge in the room - besides a modest and often unstaffed bar no on-site hotel/restaurant services after breakfast but several good restaurants within a few km - one room was comfortable for 2 but would have been crowded if 3rd bed would also have been occupied, the other 3 bed-room we rented was spacier.
Great, peaceful location and it is an excellent base for visiting this region. The access road up to the hotel is very difficult, as it is very rough and you have to be careful not to incur damage to your car.
The place is magnifiscent with a wonderful view from all sides. It is quite but also great with kids. We had our own terrace, where we could have meals done in our private kitchen. The pool is very nice and the staff helpful also not intrusive.
The rustic location, de view and a own terrace witch chairs and table
Very friendly staff and excellently quiet location. The views from the hotel are worth the stay.
Lovely surroundings, Tuscany/Chianti countryside, spacious room and bathroom, hotel location. The exit to the hotel from the main road is not marked if you come from the direction of Sienna (south). It is marked only from the direction of Rada (north). Also the unpaved road to the hotel needs to be repaired on several places.
Very nice situation & quiet. Ideal for a rural & rustic countryside visit. Local access lane in very very bad condition, and really boribg after a few days. Morning breakfast really light.
The friendly staff and their willingness to provide information and directions, sharing their enthusiasm and experience. no
Very peaceful, nice views and surroundings, friendly staff, nicely arranged buildings of hotel. Regarding to status of the hotel it is dissapointing that road to the hotel is so poorly marked and in such bad condition (dirt road with holes, very steep slope).
Excellent establishment at a beautiful location in the nature. The stuff was extremely pleasant, friendly and helpful at all times.
Beautiful property and lovely staff. The meals were excellent (except over-cooked vegetables!) and there was a good selection of local wine. We were not aware how far out of town the hotel is and since we were on bicycles it was difficult to access. Also, the website and confirmation print out information did not match with the hotel room we received, although the hotel manager made up for it with access to the hot tub facilities.
We enjoyed the beautiful, peaceful, and relaxing setting. Breakfast & dinner were excellent! Staff were friendly & helpful.
Beautiful Chianti views, comfortable rooms, friendly staff
Beautiful property, kind staff and tranquil village setting with views of the vineyards. Updated rooms and private porches with seating and umbrellas for each room. Nice breakfast in a gorgeous patio setting under vines - staff was attentive and more friendly in the morning. More information could have been proactively given from the staff about restaurants and other facilities on the compound.
the food was delightful.
The hotel has lovely grounds with a beautiful view of the countryside. We loved the relaxing atmosphere and the cool, very comfortable room with patio. The food was delicious and the hotel staff was very friendly and helpful.
tranquilité et environnement la climatisation ne marchait pas et il n'y avait pas de moustiquaire
This Hotel and the staff was wonderful. San Sano if off the beaten path, but was the perfect interlude to our otherwise busy trip to Italy. I would recommend the Hotel Residence San Sano to anyone, except those looking for a busy, loud, restless place to stay. San Sano it the best.
The surroundings and views were beautiful- an absolute haven and having a pool was great It was extremely hot and the air conditioning in the larger rooms did not seem sufficient ( but it was August) but our friends had a smaller room and theirs was fine.
The staff was super and service top quality. No
Excellent and very relaxed and quiet hotel in a fantastic location within the beautiful hills of the Chianti region. Staff extremely helpful and friendly and room was very clean. Perfect hotel to explore the Tuscan countryside and cities like Florence and Siena by car. Absolutely nothing to complain really. Maybe a bit more variation of the (very good) breakfast buffet and some sports facilities (such as a gym) would be great.
The hotel staff was amazing and so accomodating. The grounds are beautiful. Our room was comfortable and huge. We would go back to this hotel for sure. Very relaxing and enjoying experience.
Staff attitude, very helpful and friendly. Location. Food. Grounds. Would have liked more changes in the menu during our week's stay.
Simply perfect - the location and views, in the midst of the vineyards and woods, on a hill overlooking the beautiful Chianti countryside, the facilities (room, pool, restaurant, spa) and the whole surroundings of the villa are fantastic. The rooms a stylish and well equiped, with a kitchenette I would expect a more frequent change of towels and bed linnings (once over a period of 10 days stay)
Location and facilities were good / excellent Staffing levels and their experience were below what is expected at this quality hotel. However staff were friendly and helpful.
The staff was very helpful and friendly.
Beautiful hotel in tranquil setting. would have liked a more extensive evening menu
The grounds, the spa was wonderful, the breakfast was enormous and delicious. Our room was gorgeous, but not overdone.
The location is faboulous. The facilities excellent and the staff helpful. There was no receptionist after 21.00
The feeling of being out in the country away from the world...the views from the patio...the friendliness of the staff....the luxuriousness of the rooms. Absolutely nothing at all.
The staff at the hotel was excellant! Although the room was very large (we staying in a suite), it was extremely outdated! We choose the Relais Vignale because we did not have a car and thought we would be able to relax and enjoy the town. The problem was that because it was out of season, most of the towns restaurants were closed. We ended up having a great meal at the restaurant right down the road, but we thought there would be more options.
Friendliness of staff
the crisp, fresh feel of new sheets and towels every day, the breath-taking view, the immaculate swimming pool, the professionalism of the staff, the wi-fi connection the restaurant - the food was overly-decorated without a 'clean' taste, few fresh vegetables, salads and fruit and extremely limited offer of wine by the glass (sad for a hotel in the middle of the Chianti region)
Fantastic hotel, with lovely helpful staff. Definitately recommend if you are in the area. No wifi in bedrooms.
Location Beds were very hard on a solid wood base.
Beautiful views of the surrounding countryside, friendly and helpful staff and excellent food and wine at the San Donato estate.
Our stay was delightful. Everything about the Hotel was excellent and we enjoyed a relaxing 4 days there. Not applicable
Very comfortable country hotel. The food was very good at both restaurants and the village of Radda was an ideal area to spend a few days. The pool was very enjoyable and well maintained. The scenery is unbeatable. A very good value overall. The beds are a little firm/hard.
I really enjoyed its location in small yet charming Town, Radda in Chianti. The Staffs were very nice and they did give us the room with view as we requested. Perhaps the beds are getting aged it would be better that they could change them in near future.
Lovely hotel in a lovely location. Comfortable room and living area with lots of character. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great views from the room and terrace. Comfortable common room. Window in some rooms were quite small (albeit with great views).
I have just one word to discribe this hotel.EXCELLENT !!! The staff was more then friendly, willing to help non stop. The "room" was not a room, was a large appartment with an incredible view over the hills of Tuscany. Breakfast was rich and fresh. We will go back !!!
What i loved more was the garden, the furniture, the food and the location of this hotel!
The view and the location were both fantastic. The hotel itself and all of its character and charm were wonderful. We feel the hotel undersells itself on its website. The staff was also extremely helpful in giving advice on daily itineraries. The bed was a bit firm. We woke up a bit stiff in each morning.
Great view from the window. Wi-Fi very slow. Inconvenient cupboards - not enough shelves.
Staff very attentive, helpful in locating a further hotel to move to, always very pleasant. Gym equipment sparse and not all functional, swimming pool potentially good but over chlorinated. Lounge area rather tired and could do with being opened up with some sort of a bar. Television only received CNN and very small and outdated. At this price all these things should be first class.
Beautiful appointed large room with lovely outlook.Staff friendly and really helpful,a real class establishment.Superb breakfast, lovely location in a pretty town.
the location of the hotel. right in the middle of Tuscany
Absolutely Beautiful Palazzo Leopoldo, our visit was an all too brief just 2 days, all staff were so kind, friendly and very very helpful. Our room was spacious and peaceful very relaxing with amazing views. Lovely antique furnishings and spacious bathroom. Abundant and extremely tasteful breakfasts! Definitely will return!!
Very enjoyable stay, amazing surroundings and hotel staff... And not too expensive...
The hotel was beautifully appointed with fine fabrics and furniture. The surrounding gardens and views were breathtaking - I am not overstating these praises. The service was impeccable - very friendly and helpful with excellent suggestions to surrounding restaurants. Overall, I was extremely impressed with the attention to detail - nothing was overlooked. NO.
The staff were very polite and professional. The rooms and restaurant were very clean. It made our stay very relaxing.Overall first class service.
Excellent nature. Kindly staff and manager. Very clear rooms . A little bit difficult to find hotel from autostrada A-1 (Flourence-Rome), if you caming by car. There are no any activities in hotel, that is why it is good only for relaxing. Citchen is very refined but not so varied. Nature around hotel is beautiful, but there are no roads for walking.
nice room, friendly staff claimed swimming pool and spa were in an other hotel and poor.
We were thrilled with this hotel from the moment we arrived. The staff were welcoming, our room was gorgeous, breakfast was a delicious and generous buffet. The reception staff gave wonderful sudgestions for restaurants and local attractions to tour, and even phoned to book our reservations if needed. We loved the location of the hotel within the town of Radda in Chianti. Our experience at the Palazzo San Niccolo was completely positive. Radda in Chianti is a wonderful town as well, and is nestled nicely in the centre of Tuscany. wonderful. No
Great historic mountain town in Chianti wine region. Bathroom was very nice. Our room had odd connection to room, but staff showed it to us - only room left that night but were willing to send us to a sister hotel nearby if we didn't like it. Hotel staff on check in and out was great. Month of august, free breakfast - worth 20 euros each if had to pay for this beautiful breakfast buffet! only the bathroom connection to this one room only - still OK with us.
Clean, comfortable accommodations. Pleasant, helpful staff. Lovely breakfast. Nice location.
An excelent hotel and very good price
Very pleasent surroundings with staff who were eager to help and to please The shower in room 101 is ridiculous the taps arrangement is large and bulky which does not leave enough room to stand in there
Extremely friendly, willing and helpful personnel, we feel that we received more than have paid. Location wonderful, breakfast served at a romantic ancient courtyard, home-made pastries, we were offered to use a swimming pool in a nearby sister hotel in a different, but also wonderful location. N/A
Relax, nice hotel in a wonderful location. Excellent service and staff. Breakast was wonderful.
Hotel is fantastic, we were very impressed with the very spacious bathroom and bedroom, all very tastefully decorated. Room had a safe and airconditioing works even when your not in the room. Very small garden at the back of the hotel which was very cosy. Staff were very helpful. Definitely will return to this hotel next year. Very central location, great restaurants in the area too and you don't need to drive. Did not have breakfast at the hotel, feel it should be included in the price. You have access to a pool at there sister hotel 5km's away, but we were not very impressed. Pool area is very small and pool was unkept with a few dead creatures eg. scorpions and grass hoppers.
The quiet and peaceful location and environment.
The countryside setting and the historic buildings Interference from a conference
Great location in beautiful countryside; excellent terrace restaurant with attentive staff; luxury standard with well-appointed rooms and good pool, tennis and gym facilities. During our last day of the stay, a Hollywood film crew arrived to shoot a movie. This was disruptive and intrusive. We also discovered that we had been located out of the main hotel into converted outbuildings for our entire 6 night stay in anticipoation of the film crew arriving.
Excellent location near Siena in very beautiful countryside, very friendly staff, very nice rooms Extremely expensive internet charges (only one option 60 min price 10 euro), glasses in room made from plastic, restaurant quite expensive
Outstanding environment - great building Too much noise from surrounding rooms
Our stay was enhanced by the fabulous views of the countryside. The breafast spread was fabulous however we found the dinner a bit pricey for what you get. We just thought the decor was too contemporary for a castle. Would have been more charming if the furniture, lighting and soforth was indicative of the times. 15th century ambiance would have given it a more authentic feel.
It was an amazing setting. the staff were extremely helpful and accommodating. the hotel room was not ready at first so we decided to have a picnic under the olive tree and it was so beautiful my now fiance and I got engaged. afterwords we had a wine tasting and enjoyed a bottle of champagne (spumante) on our porch. they also had a welcome drink and olives and cheeses to sample before dinner. The wine samolia Venchenso was a delight. he is very knowledgable and we enjoyed his efforts and his company. this place is extrememly relaxing and i recommend this place highly. no
It was in a very beautiful area of Tuscany. It was only an hours drive to Florence, 1/2 hour to Sienna and 2 hours +/- to Assissi. There wasn't enough staff at the restaurant and the staff they had were very overworked. The rooms could have been cleaner but were just ok.
The location is great. Unfortunately, we had a very bad experience. This is definitely not a 4 star relais. The location is great, but that’s all. We booked a suite for 7 nights, but only stayed 6. The first night they put us in room 19. This was a very dark hole with only 2 small windows and it looked nowhere like a suite. After complaining, the next day we moved to room 30. This looked a lot nicer, but still no 4 star quality. It was dirty; dust on everything, the sanitary was very poor and. it had a leaking roof. There is no hospitaly and passion. The management is very poor. They are not friendly at all (except in the enotaca).
wonderful authentic place and surroundings unworking central heating during first could Septembers days
friendly atmosphere and idealic location poor daily room service
Personal attention from the staff. Great location.
The room was the best part and the friendliness of the staff . The food was awefull . Very poor value for money .
