5.4 Okay
Pros: Room was clean andcomfortable
Cons: There was a wedding which we were attending. But who decided that the best place for the night wedding disco which was on until 2am was off the landing were the bedrooms were. Why not downstairs were the earlier ceremony had taken place away from the bedrooms and access outside for those who smoke.......Absolutely ridiculous!!!!!!! Also the breakfast which was quoted as "Legendary" was at best average. The pats of butter had totally melted and I "poured" the butter onto my toast as it was completely liquid.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very good. Amazing value with toast, tea and an English full braefast for £5.50. There were lots of choice of breakfast and mixing ang matching. I remember the Lowther from 40 years ago and even in 2007 - it was a bit of a dive and run down. Now they have spend a lot of money on this 1824 (the first hotel still standing built in the East Riding) but kept a sense of history in the property. The hotel is spotless and there is always someone on call at the front desk. The hotel is next to the docks and was interesting to look out on but without any noise or disturbance. Parking was easy - either at the front or in a car park at the rear. I would recommend the evening meal offer of £10 for 2 - how can they do that? The accommodation on a Thursday night for 2 in a double room with bed and breakfast was £79.50.
Cons: We liked everything and we will stay again.
