9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Service was of a very high level, and extremely accommodating of dietary requirements for breakfast. We were made to feel very welcome. Beautifully designed and maintained B & B.
Cons: We had some issues with credit card payment and ended paying in cash.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The Bed & Breakfast was very beautiful. It was beautifully decorated and you felt very welcomed there. The B&B is located very near to the city center, but you don't hear all the noise. There is a lovely garden and a nice place where you eat the breakfast. The owner was so warm hearted and helpful, that we felt like being home. The breakfast she prepared was so delicious. We really liked our stay there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Casa Montalvo was a beautiful hotel full of lovely furniture and nice artworks with interesting spaces to sit including a conservatory looking into the courtyard garden. The rooftop view is delightful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly host, centrally located near cathedral, great breakfast. We felt very comfortable and highly recommend it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! This is a beautiful colonial home with the sweetest host, Sonia. My mom and I had a downstairs room with 2 single beds and a sliding glass door opening to a beautiful garden and nice terrace. The beds were so comfortable and we had the best nights sleep during our whole trip. It's right in the historic center, but so quiet in the room and very dark due to the thick curtains. Also had the best shower during our whole trip! The room even had an electric heater which really surprised me. The decoration and furniture make you feel like you're in a museum, everything is beautiful and looks to be antique! The sitting area near the entrance is so comfty and homey, great place to read! The outdoor patio has a heating lamp. So many little touches really make you feel nice and cosy! There's even a terrace with a panoramic viewpoint of the city. What more do you need?! Best of all was that Sonia made us feel at home and served us delicious breakfast every morning. Nice plate of fruit, fresh juice and eggs with bread. She even asked us if we wanted breakfast earlier than in the normal hours on the day we were going to Cajas. It's a bit pricey but if you're going to splurge on accommodation at any point on the trip, this is a good value! I would come back :)
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful, colonial home in the heart of Cuenca. The breakfast was delicious and nutritious! Our hostess treated us like royalty. We felt cared for and pampered. Thank you.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was very nice and attentive. The place is beautiful with many real plants and flowers to make it cozy. The rooms are clean and comfortable and the place is safe & in an excellent location.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: I loved this place. The room I booked, the King room was just beautiful - a huge comfy bed, lounge, lots of natural light all the old colonial furniture and decor was so delightful. It was a really relaxed and comfortable stay, the staff were all friendly and helpful and Sonia, the owner, provided special personal attention, arranging for my laundry and even drove me to the airport at the end of my stay, which was so lovely. I stayed earlier at one of the 5 star hotels which was fine but this was so much nicer. Would highly recommend! Thank you, Sonia By the way, all the beautiful artwork was created by Sonia, so an extra delight to the already beautiful Bed n Breakfast.

4.2 Okay
Pros: The driver that picked me up at Guayaquil airport was extremely educated and well informed. The receptionist gave me good tips for visiting the city.
Cons: The driver came to pick me up 2 hours later from the airport because the property didnt read my email on time. In addition, the staff that attended me at the restaurant during breakfast was disrespectful and didnt served me the wrong breakfast.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s in the heart of Cuenca, the hotel is beautiful and the staff makes you feel like home.
Cons: The beds weren’t that comfortable for the price you pay. The food wasn’t that good either, they don’t have 24 hrs room service. I reached 7pm very hungry and there was only sandwiches on the menu.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The photos online did not do this hotel justice. It was even more beautiful in real life! The staff were very welcoming and helpful - definitely exceeded our expectations.
Cons: The Spa area can be improved in terms of having a relaxation area (chairs/sofa etc)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I travel the world in my job. I am top status with Marriott and second to top with IHG. And, I also stay in boutique hotels occasionally. This hotel is fantastic! At the top of my list. Stay here.
Cons: The room was a bit cool at night but I would stay here again in a heartbeat:
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The setting was magical. We stayed in one of the garden rooms and I really just wanted to sit in the garden and literally smell the roses. It was beautiful and very well cared for. The small details were charming-water bottle at night , notes and candies left at turn down in the evenings. We had to leave before expected and the concierge was a HUGE help changing all our flights and hotels
Cons: I entertained a group of friends in the dining room and the food did not match the price or the very nice service. It actually was the worst meal I had on a 2 week trip and was overpriced for the guality of the food.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Alway an excellent breakfast made to order. Service is very good. We love the location, 10 minute walk to the downtown restaurants, one block from Supermaxi and one block to the mall. Safe parking for our car.
Cons: There is a water pump on the property. It seems to be getting louder every year. Might need a service or something. Room 202 still needs a table or desk under the TV.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice rooms, attentive staff, good location, safe parking, breakfast made to order.
Cons: We made a last minute reservation and ended up on the third floor.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Well located in a quiet residential area, 7 minute walk to the old town. Big room, comfortable beds and white bed sheet. Good wifi. Pleasant service, ready to store your luggage. Good breakfast eith eggs, fruits, juice and bread. Beautiful villa, would stay again.
Cons: Next door family did not control their children, crying and yelling for hours and slamming doors. In such cases personell should take care of the situation. Not only children are clients but other people as well.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff is friendly and attentive. Breakfast is made to order, and served graciously. We love the location, one block from Supermaxi and one Block from Millenial Mall. There are also excellent restaurants within walking distance, and just a couple of blocks from a large park. The area is safe and friendly for walking around, even at night. The parking for cars is safe and secure.
Cons: Room 202 needs one more table or chair. A table under the TV, or a bench at the foot of the bed would be really nice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was perfect. All new and very good quality and functional. Staff willing. Place pleasantly close to the historical center (10 minutes walk). Within easy reach of supermarket, excellent hospital, quality restaurants (eg Golden Prague, Mexican, etc.). Breakfast is great, if you stay longer, you can ask for pancakes, for example, to increase the variety. During my stay there was a slightly more noisy building beside the Hostel, but I suppose it is temporary. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. I was more than satisfied.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have stayed here before. The place is beautiful and the staff friendly and helpful. It is a little bit outside of the town center, but still within walking distance and was very convenient to where I needed to go. It is a short walk to Milenium Plaza and close to Parque de la Madre where there is a jogging track and many people meet to exercise. Nice breakfast with yogurt, fruit, and eggs. Highly recommended.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hosts are warm and helpful, the beds are incredible and the inside patio is beautiful
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The dorm was really nice as each individual had his own bed (queen size). Spacious room and the beds were comfortable. The receptionist (woman) was very helpful. In the centre, just a few blocks away from the main square.
Cons: As a solotraveller it would be difficult to meet other travellers. Optional breakfast for 5 Dollars which is way too much for what you get. The reception denied to do our laundry because they had too much work and clothes to do and would have taken them 2 days. This seemed a little bit odd as there werent many guests during our stay
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location , helpful staff and comfortable room and bar. The atmosphere and layout is lovely & bright - well designed and a relaxed & safe place to hangout in downtime.
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly hostel. Good facilities, fresh breakfast.
Cons: Despite paying a deposit to secure the room, I received an email saying that unless I confirm the time of ny arrival, the room will be offered to someone else. Tgat sounded quite harsh.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The dorm is amazing. Double beds for each person, not bunk beds. Free coffee and tea, good internet, sofas in a nice patio. Breakfast bar just 4 dollars and one free hour to use bikes.
Cons: Was perfect.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Double beds instead of bunk beds
Cons: Reception unmanned between 9pm and 7.30am so unable to check-in after bus arrived early. Also, wasn't made aware of the Tab system the hostel uses to process card payments which costs an additional 4%; guests should be informed by staff so they have the option to pay in cash. Management needs to rethink some processes, such as the 3pm check in (exceptionally late and, in my opinion, unnecessary), the use of a 5-bed 'family' room when the dorm is full which requires guests to check out and wait until 3pm to check back in when the dorm is available, the use of solar-powered showers which are less effective at heating water (at least on cloudy days) than the electric ones used elsewhere in the hostel, the lack of lockers, although some rooms do have 'eco-lockers' (unsecured plastic containers) these are no substitute for the metal ones found in most other hostels, and choosing to charge one person (who had already paid for a dorm) the price of a quadruple room because there were no single rooms available, despite it being when the reception was about to close and the room would have gone unused, knowing the only reason the room was needed was because of sickness resulting in a doctor having been called out.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing double beds, recycled oil tanks like lockers, coffee and tea for free all the day. Always I come back. Great breakfast bar for 4 dollars.
Cons: Everything was OK.

This will always be my 1st choice when we stay Cuenca. The room, bed, breakfast, dinner & cleanliness were all 5 stars. Thank You 4 point Sheraton.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Welcome Drink Turndown Chocolate Excellent Breakfast Hardwood Floors Rain Showerhead Friendly Staff Comfy Bed Secured Key Access Elevator
Cons: Noise on Highway Side of Hotel Staff accommodated me as a light sleeper and moved me to a quieter room with a tranquil city view. Cherry on top was a dessert tray for the inconvenience.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was excellent. It was a huge Buffett with all types of foods. The waiters were very friendly and attentive. Nice spacious rooms and good, hot shower.
Cons: Our room was quite loud and we were in the basement level, so we could hear a lot of noises from the lobby. It’s a 15 minute taxi ride into the city - walking is not a good idea.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything was clean. the staff is super organized and very friendly
Cons: everything
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Service and comfort
Cons: Nothing in the mini bar

8.3 Excellent
Pros: We love the old style wood and the charm of the Hotel. The Breakfast is the high point of every day, with the good service and wonderful view. Location is great and the water is hot.
Cons: There was no internet in room 206 most of the time. A tiny room, no desk or table for the room service tray. The room is directly under the kitchen, and is noisy when the breakfast juicer starts up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness and a wonderful breakfast each day.
Cons: The staff went out of their way to be accommodating and friendly It was much like a botique hotel with them knowing your name when you came in each time. Their restaurant was excellent! Why I didn't give 100% was that our room (which had a wonderful view) was situated above where people met, and I guess continued their party ...sleep was diffucult.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful building. The food was very good. The staff very friendly and helpful. I like the location because it was in El Centro close to all the action. Nice lobby with fireplace to sit and relax. Restaurant is very good. Free breakfast is very nice. Very satisfied with our stay.
Cons: Room was a little small, but worth it.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast
Cons: Too noisy from the bars around
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel. Everything was great and great staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The place is very nice with a lot of character great location and an exceptional food served both for breakfast and in the restaurant. Staff was very available and assisted me with calling a doctor, ordering medications and more so I cannot stress how welcome we felt.
Cons: I was not allowed to check out later than the regualar 12h00. As my flight was only at 18h and was travelling with a small baby I found it a nuisance and not the best treatment.
6.3 Good
Pros: The staff at breakfast were lovely. The food was good. Most of the staff throughout were lovely. The garden outside our room was beautiful.
Cons: Our room was a tiny dark room. One of the beds had to be slanted in order to close the door. The lighting was atrocious. The lamp beside the bed had to be unplugged (no switch) to turn on/off; this made it impossible to get up in the dark. The room was cold and dank.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. I don’t remember the name of one of the waiters at the restaurant, but he is an asset to the restaurant. I told him not to retire because the restaurant will never be the same: great service!
9.2 Excellent
Cons: Breakfast with few options.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very nice hotel in Cuenca with traditional decoration , seems like old historial

Pros: The family who runs this hostal is very friendly and helpful, as is the woman who prepares the delicious breakfast and does other chores. The place attracts a variety of interesting international travelers. It is across the street from a park along a river and is very quiet. There is a market a few blocks away.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great. Very comfortable and accomodating.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were excellent. Room was spotless, modern and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. The hostal was beautifully decorated and maintained.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We were thrilled with the layout of the B&B to include the dining room and living room. Our own room was spacious but it was nice to have other spaces to rest and relax. We even ordered pizza our first so that we didn't have to go out. Having an onsite laundry service was a great extra, especially as they wash by the pound, not by the piece.
Cons: Little details - missing slat in the blinds caused light to come in at night; grout in the bathroom could use a deep cleaning.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff and quiet location convenient to everything. Great breakfast each morning!

Pros: The locations is very good, the breakfast is superb. The room is very clean, cozy and big enough for a couple. The staff is very polite and helpful.
Cons: The only thing I would change to make it perfect 100% is blackouts in the room. It has good heavy curtains but it is a nice to have: "blackouts".
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Well appointed rooms and very courteous staff. Express laundry is an added advantage
Cons: Breakfast buffet could be bigger
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff from the Hotel is the best!!! Always ready to help and Always friendly.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly, and made us feel very welcome. The bed was big and comfortable, the shower hot and wifi signal strong! We have been travelling through Ecuador for almost two months and this was the best hotel in this price range yet.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place was great has everything you need plus a free bottle of water which is a nice touch. The shower was hot which is never a guarantee in Ecuador and the breakfast was good
Cons: The rooms are pretty small, especially the bathroom but for one night it was perfect. I've spent some time in Cuenca before so was just passing through but I'd definitely stay again. The juice at breakfast didn't look nice, definitely not fresh so I avoided it. Maybe some curtains rather than the blinds as they're falling apart a bit
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This is a very good place for value for the money. The staff is friendly and helpful, the breakfast is filling and good and cheerfully served, and the hotel is spotlessly clean.
Cons: The neighborhood is a little noisy, but that's not all bad. It's lively and fits with the culture. This building is old and not as quiet as a newer building might be, but then my room was near the stairs, hall, and reception area. Most rooms are away from this center of activity, and, I suspect, quieter. I highly recommend this as a good, moderately-priced place to stay in Cuenca.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: I loved breakfast, the service and cleanliness.
Cons: No food can be eating in the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast staff was very friendly. The location is good. The bed was huge! Good value for money.
Cons: There was quite a lot of dust in the room. The young man at check-in did not even offer to help us with getting our luggage upstairs. There was no one at the front desk most of our stay. The walls and ceilings are thin, we could hear people walking and talking.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: fantastic location, terrific staff, quiet-and staff helped to keep it that way, with the exception of my first night
Cons: the bathroom sink area is a bit cramped

Pros: Rustic wooden structure , furniture , antiques, chimneys for warming up, excellent food at the restaurant . Had the specula Locro soup and the grilled fresh trout . Delicious!
Cons: Hard to sleep at night do to high altitude (3,450 meters above sea level).
6.3 Good
Pros: I love the friendly smiles and courteous staff They took time to hear and tend to us Whenever we came to counter They had excellent customer service The view from room was such a delight Water cascades, greenery trees, rocks, I loved it.. The rooms wood set up construction and chimney Were an excellent touch.
Cons: I loved the room But my family member and her spouse Were not told The bottom floor bed Was heated They couldn't sleep all night The were highly uncomfortable They were up all night Slept for one hour When they Rose My family member face was swollen And her husband was sweaty and hypertensive With bad headache. My whole concern here is why as PAYING GUESTS WE WERE NOT INFORMED THAT THE BOTTOM FLOOR BED WILL BE ON HEATING FIRE DURING THE NIGHT. My family member called desk all night At 12, 0100, 3am And none answered, or assisted us during this serious distress My family member was excited at arrival, but extremely disappointed at departure. please please and please, Let your next clients renting the loft That the bottom floor Is burning hot at night. Please be aware Thanks
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything
Cons: We couldn’t used the jacuzzi because the Water was too low
6.3 Good
Pros: Well kept grounds.
Cons: Well for starters the bathtub was not clean, the view from our room was of concrete roof and a work ladder placed right in front of window. The food and products are way overpriced, dont know how they stay in business, maybe from the fish farm. The free breakfast was a slap in the face, had to dish out more money for decent breakfast. I can not recommend anyone to stay at this place. The high cost 120.00 with view of a ladder with tax of course, however this is misleading because everything else cost way too much. The final bill is roughly 202.00. The service is lacking, not friendly at all. The front desk looks as if someone just shot their dog. We did have one nice waiter, a young man who was very attentive and nice. Also you will find a list of don'ts when you enter the room, such as, misplaced towels, missing glasses, or spot on the sheets you will be charged...are you kidding me. I recommend you stay somewhere else and visit cajas for the day. The place is beautiful but grossly mismanaged. It's a bad joke when it comes to value and price
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hosteria Dos Chorreras feels like been in "Alice in Wonderland" Beautiful, well kept place with professionally, friendly and diverse staff. We stayed at a Bungalow and was amazing. Room was nicely decorated, well kept, clean, no mold smell and no noise from neighbors. Food was great as well. We ate at three different restaurants and food was excellent. Breakfast buffet was great, their natural juices are super good. Must try their famous empanadas de viento, they are big, but so good I ate two. The location is perfect if you want to explore El Cajas National Park. It is also very close to Cuenca, which is a beautiful city.
Cons: Hosteria Dos Chorreras is such a beautiful place but, be prepared for cold weather when going outside. It was raining and wet outside. Should improve parking area (should be paved).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, nestled on the side of the Cajas Mountains. You are literally in the clouds. Food, service and staff was excellent. An excellent mountain lodge while visiting Cuenca, Ecuador.
Cons: For me, nothing.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It’s a lovely, historic building in the historic part of Cuenca. The staff was very helpful, the breakfast was lovely, the rooms were nice and beds comfortable.
Cons: There was a fancy spa tub in our room that was difficult to figure out and taking a simple shower required some strategic water management as there was no shower curtain.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and the service Luci was wonderful
Cons: No comment

Pros: I love the Renaissance period type of decor and traditional setting w hard wood floors and in such a great city w so much character it all goes well together.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is GORGEOUS! All colonial style with beautiful furniture, painted walls, pristine wood flooring that’s perfectly clean and shiny. The bed was very comfortable, the bathroom modern and practical. The staff are very friendly and accommodating, the breakfast tasty. It’s a 5-minute walk to the cathedral and main square.
Cons: It was all great!
7.9 Good
Pros: The hotel is in a traditional house, with very friendly and helpful staff. The location was excellent and the free overnight parking (8 p.m. until 8 a.m., outside those times at 50c per hour) very welcome. The breakfasts were also good with fresh fruit and eggs. The only drawback is that few of the rooms in the hotel have external windows. They face the walkway within the building. If the lack of privacy/natural light doesn't worry you, the hotel is well recommended.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: This place has it all: very good breakfast under a glass ceiling, attractive decoration, coffee machine, spacious rooms and above all: style. We felt like moving into another world, which fits perfectly in Cuenca.
Cons: The location was not bad, but two blocks further down to the river would have even better. It is along a busy street, although the insulation works fine.

Pros: Charming property on the banks of the Tomebamba River walking distance from the old town/city center. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. With the kitchen, we were able to cook most of our meals and save money.
Cons: The ONLY thing that wasn't great was the Internet service, which was good at times but also very slow at times.

Cons: Location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff. Very good located und quiet in the night.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful and friendly. Javier speaks excellent English and answered all our questions very well. The location is incredible, right by the river and a very few minutes walk to all the sites in old town just on the other side of the river. After 3 weeks on the road it was great to be able to cook our own meals and relax.
Cons: Our apartment really needed an update. The floor , counter and shower tiles were chipped and the grout was badly discolored making things look grungy. Likewise the cabinets were in need of painting. Our friends apartment however looked like it had upgraded more recently and looked much better for it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet and beautiful little green oasis at the rio tomebamba near the city center with great and lovely hosts who were happy to help with tours... Appartment was clean and had everything we needed...

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds, good kitchen, great host
Cons: Noisy, walls are thin!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We could check in directly after arriving early in the morning. - The kitchen was pretty good equipped. - Shower and toilets were fine
Cons: The wifi is blocking many downloads and is pretty bad - There is a note on many places that you have to pay 3$ if you want to use the facilities (kitchen, wifi, toilet, luggage storage etc.). For us it wasn't a problem because we left directly after the checkout, but if we didn't we would be pretty pissed, because this is a absoulte no go and not fair and ok.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent attention, outstanding kindness from the owner. Nice rooms.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The guesthouse has a balcony which overlooks the city. It is around 2.2km from the bus terminal (2usd taxi). 1.5km to the historic center. All walkable and easy to navigate. A small mini market is on the corner of the street. The beds were comfy. In the Backpacker area the walls are thin, not a problem thou. Stayed some extra nights. The owner is relaxed and helpful.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable bed, well equiped kitchen, awesome host and great view!
Cons: Noisy but manageable

Pros: Staff are so friendly and kind. Good quiet location 10 minute walk to town. Lots of bakeries and shops within walking distance. Comfortable bed and pillows.
Cons: As mentioned in other reviews, rooms can be noisy due to thin walls. However I feel this is reflected in the price so overall great value for money

7.0 Good
Pros: The staff was very friendly, and the breakfast was very good. The hotel had a nice seating area on the first floor, which was good in combination with the WIFI connection there. We came by car and could park for free a few blocks away in a carpark. First ask at the reception.
Cons: The room was without windows, and bathroom with a small window opening into the inner side of the hotel, made it a bit stuffy.
