Cons: There's nothing to dislike!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is absolutely a gem very close to the city center of Haarlem. The house is absolutely amazing, a very old building, with much character. We chose this particular B&B because the room had a bath, and how this exceeded our expectations! The bathroom is spacious and modern and the bath was great. Also breakfast was splendid. We filled in a form the day prior to the breakfast, and we had lots of choice. It was all very good. The proprietors are very friendly and eager to help and we could use bikes to go to the center of Haarlem, which is very convenient. We didn't go to the beach, due to colder weather (begin of April), but that's also very close (15 min drive, 30 min by bike). Highly recommended!
Cons: Our time there was too short... ;)

Pros: Hosts were extremely friendly and accommodating. Rooms were updated and very clean. The location was wonderful, right in the heart of beautiful Haarlem, within walking distance to restaurants and shops. A truly wonderful Amsterdam experience!
Cons: Stairs can be a little challenging, especially for the elderly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Malts Hotel is one of the best hotels we have ever stayed in in Europe (and we travel quite a bit)! The room was beautifully appointed, the breakfast was plentiful and delicious, and I always felt like I was staying with friends, not just in a hotel. Henk and AnneMarie were lovely hosts -- charming, helpful and informative. We loved staying here, and it set our whole stay in the Netherlands off to the right start!
Cons: Nothing! It was all wonderful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This cosy B&B is in a great location close to the main attractions in Haarlem and an easy walk to the train station. The breakfast room (pictured) is also available for guests to have coffee or tea or snacks throughout the day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This is a fantastic place to stay in Haarlem. The room was clean, comfortable, and stylish. The proprietors are every bit as friendly and helpful as other reviews have indicated.
Cons: We were visiting during the record-breaking heat wave (temps reached 100F/37C), so air conditioning would have been nice. This just isn’t a typical amenity in this part of Europe, so I can’t fault Hotel Malts for this, and I would happily stay here again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Owners were very welcoming, and provided excellent suggestions of things to do and places to eat. Very clean and comfortable rooms, delicious breakfasts, superb central location. Would love to return.
Cons: Nothing - all excellent.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast ... very Dutch with cheese, meat, and eggs. Very close to central Haarlem. Easy to get to by bus from the airport. The owner gave us perfect instructions. The owner gave us good advice on what to go to.
Cons: The owner tended to advice us to go to more expensive restaurants whereas other good and cheaper places were available. The owner also tended to be somewhat racist in being negative about using a laundromat owned by a Turkish family ... which turned out to be excellent.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wow we loved everything: the room, location, the owners, the breakfasts just everything
Cons: Nothing

All the staff at the reception were friendly, accommodating and provided me with everything that I needed from early check-in, towels, refreshments, adaptor, suggestions where to go, etc. I had a fab breakfast at less than 10 euros! Scrambled eggs with cheese and tomatoes was the best! The lobby is really cool and relaxing to hang out. The room is very spacious and sparkling clean with private toilet and bath, this is what I really like :). The bed, pillows and linen were so comfy, I've never experienced this before with other hostels, I decided to skip a night out and just enjoyed my rest. Everything was perfect!

Pros: We had a lovely stay at B&B Groen. The house was literally surrounded by the green and beautiful garden and located close to a nice park, forests etc. It was not too far from either Haarlem or Zandvoort and the sea. We had the great opportunity to get bikes from the host and cycle through the natural park, to Haarlem and the sea. The host is very friendly and can speak German. The room was quite comfortable and big. We had a shower as well as a bathtub. The breakfast was freshly made and contained a good selection. We had the choice to get it in our room or have it downstairs in the big kitchen together with other guests. The host was helpful and able to answer our questions. If you are looking for a green, quiet and comfortable place to stay, this would definitely be a recommendation.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was excellent. Staff very helpful on many levels. Beautiful garden to sit in as well x
Cons: Recommend putting a full length mirror and a bathroom mirror light in. Rest was above and beyond.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very good breakfast! Beautiful area with a lot of interesting history (and a bird living in the garden.) It was nice to walk to the town - it was possibility to choose a part of the way through a beautiful forest or through the park, if we did not want to go all the way on the road (which was alright too). The hotel had bikes - it was easy to go and see Haarlem and surroundings. We took also train / bus at Haarlem Station, visited several towns, villages. (We bought a travel ticket at the station - it was the easiest/cheapest way to travel in several vehicles).
Cons: Because of the high temperature at that time the room was rather hot. We kept the windows open, while we were "at home". The shower was very good, excellent. I suppose many people would like if there was a shelf or something where to put shampoo etc. A little table or stool near the shower would be as good alternative as a shelf. And you could put also your towel on it while you are in the shower. Reading in the bed was not possible because there was not enough light. Lighting in the room was otherwise beautiful and good.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great, outside rush part of the town... great for us.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is in a wonderfully quiet wooded area of Haarlem, but not far from the old historic center. The room was very well decorated with a terrific large shower and very comfortable bed. The owner was very welcoming and offered suggestions as to where to eat, what to see, etc. Nice place.
Cons: The room we had came with a tiny toilet room. While We understand the necessity through the design of the room, it was rather uncomfortable.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: a quit place near center of town and beach.
Cons: can't think of something
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location was enough out of the centre that it was quiet in the evening yet a short pleasant walk into Haarlem centre, The small breakfast offered was just enough to get us started in the morning and the host tailored mine as per request. host was friendly and diligent. on site parking is an added bonus
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is fantastic the owner could not be more helpful and very friendly
Cons: Nothing
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The room was modern, luxurious and comfortable with plenty of space for a seating area and a dining table. I loved it. The door led directly into a garden with a historic statue of Daphne and Apollo and an antique tea house. There is also a private seating area for the room there. The house and land have a lot of history and intriguing atmosphere. The owner and host brings breakfast to the room if you would like, and is happy to talk about the history of the area and the house. Fascinating. There is also some good printed information in the room, as well as restaurant suggestions.
Cons: The location was a little challenging for a solo female traveler without a car, but certainly doable. There are buses very nearby heading back and forth to the center. If it was late coming back, I chose to take a taxi because very few are traveling on bike or by foot in the area. Taxis are waiting outside Haarlem's central station. Without any paved sidewalk, pulling luggage to the bus isn't ideal, but not too difficult.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Bed & Shower
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a must if you are staying in Haarlem The room is decorated professionally and everything is tastefully and artfully done! If it’s available book it! You won’t be disappointed!!
Cons: Nothing!

Pros: Lovely hotel in Haarlem. It is a home away from home. You are well received and feel as a real guest. Much appreciated the warm bath!
Cons: The restaurant in the hotel is good, but not always open. I only found out when I arrived.....
7.5 Good
Pros: Charming, helpful staff. Body lotion in the bathroom.
Cons: Not superclean, a little run down. No elevator. Didn't like the pillows.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Love the room design. Great place to relax!
Cons: Nothing - it was great. A small fridge would have been useful for milk. If I was here with my partner I don't think we'd have stayed here die to the shower set ups but it was great to watch BBC in the shooter by myself!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The personnel who work there are very friendly and attentive, the location is ideal as a few minutes walk from the train station, the facilities are great and also the room. We had a Japanese themed room. The curry centre, sites and attractions are all within walking distance, you also rent a bike and the coast is the accessible within 25 minutes and it's a very pleasant journey.
Cons: It was a great stay, we should have stayed longer!!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The interior is decorated in a unique and chic look. Everything feels new and clean. New bottles of water replenished every morning. Wifi worked great. Friendly and courteous staff. Did not try, but the restaurant on the ground floor looked very popular. On a quiet residential street but still very close to Haarlem station. (2 minute walk).
Cons: No elevator. Our room was on the top/4th floor. Was not really an issue for us but should be noted if you are someone who has troubles climbing steps. Also, not sure if all rooms have similar layout, but ours had the shower partially exposed to the rest of the room. Would be awkward if with someone other than your partner. Great place otherwise, would stay again.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff was very helpful with any questions we asked. They have a common kitchen and lounge area available. Every afternoon there was free fresh cake. All the coffee or tea you wanted was free.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and room. Great design and high ceilings.

Pros: Friendly staff and quick service.
Cons: One of the light bulbs was out above the bed, but it didn't cause much issue.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome hotel, love the different themes and decorations throughout the hotel. Great staff super friendly and helpful. Loved the little terrasse in the back with the chickens, great place to relax and have a beer. The Honesty fridge filled with beers, wine and drinks available 24/7 is awesome. Loved that they had their own bikes to rent, better than renting in a shop outside. Awesome breakfast, a bit pricy but totally worth it if you are hungry! Awesome rooms
Cons: Nothing, loved everything about our stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Design room with smallest details thought. Tasty breakfast

Pros: Very comfortable modern accommodation. Extremely clean and convenient. The host was extremely friendly and allowed us to rest in the sun room when we arrived early ahead of a rainstorm. We have stayed before and will again.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Apartment was in a beautiful location and the facilities were good. Owner explained us the directions to the busstop and amsterdam patiently.
Cons: On the website, we felt the whole property would be ours because the way things were mentioned about the room is confusing. Also, better to mark that jacuzzi and pool will be closed in winter. Far from airport. Thought it would have better transport but had to use uber/taxi more.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We basicaly liked everything, Fred the owner was awesome, very help full, very nice, he wants to make his guest confortable as much as possible. That was great !
Cons: This is personnal but the only thing that i didn't like was the fact that we are in March and the temperature are pretty low.... I love when the weather is warm and sunny so.... I definitly will have to come back in summer time !!
7.1 Good
Pros: Cleanliness. Space, and the owners were very welcoming, even if we didn’t see them the next day... a help yourself breakfast left on the table.
Cons: Breakfast. Not worth the money.... it was adequate,. but you go back into the bedroom to make your own tea and coffee, Location not great. By a lot of high rise blocks of flats... though it is a short walk to the canal.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location: in a "closed road" in front of a small river, deepened in green surroundings. New house infrastructure. Just 2 bedrooms. Services in the room like the and coffee maker, possibility to get water from fridge. It s worth for a long stay.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Fred was very accommodating and friendly
Cons: If you plan on staying more than one day, buy a multi-trip card for public transportation. There is a bus stop 1 min away, but you’ll need to make transfers if going to places other than Haarlem centrum
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Fred and Marieke are very friendly and helpful. The room was beautiful and had an extremely comfortable bed. There was a hair dryer, coffee, tea, a TV, windows that opened, a table with great chairs and a very pleasant atmosphere. The room and the rest of the house was very clean. Breakfast was the best I've had at a B and B. It's a cold meal and it was perfect. There isn't access to a kitchen, but they have supplied a small fridge that is sectioned for each room. You can use the microwave and plates, cutlery, etc. A great area to walk around too. I highly recommend Haarlem 49.

Pros: great location, great facilities, friendly staff, Apartment with balcony. Was roomy. Been before and will book again.

Cons: Nothing.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: Very noisy at night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The apartment is located in a converted townhouse in the center of town, and the many shops and restaurants are basically within walking distance. The location is also within walking distance of the main train station, so that traveling to other cities by train is quite easy (15-20 minutes to Amsterdam Centraal).
Cons: Although it didn’t bother us, the stairs up to the suites are quite steep (as in many places in The Netherlands). If you have trouble bringing you luggage up stairs, you may consider somewhere else to stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent staff with their efficiency and accommodating attitude, thanks!
Cons: The steep stairs going up to the apartment and it was not easy to find the reception office by car, narrow roads around the canal and lots of bikes and motorcycles going in all directions!

Pros: Great location with lots of good restaurants, canal and tourist attractions nearby!
Cons: Steep flight of stairs going up to the apartment,,noise of the restaurant downstairs, difficult to find the reception office if you come by car

Pros: Great location, lovely appartment, very friendly staff.
Cons: Bedroom was not completely dark during the night, which made it difficult for our little baby boy to fall asleep.

6.3 Good
Pros: Good breakfast
Cons: 3 story flat with steep stairs. Living area in loft. Bathroom and entry on main floor. Bedroom in basement. Next to a bar so late night noise.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: One of the best I have ever stayed in, what a treat.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Large family room on top floor. Mini bar with items that were priced fairly. Staff were amazing and allowed us to keep our bags at the hotel for the day.
Cons: Noise. In the heart of pubs and restaurants. Location vs late night noise.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location central to all amenities. Stayed in 1 bed apartment overlooking street, fabulous for people watching. Shared roof top terrace, basic but great for chilling out.
Cons: Apartment is not soundproofed. Was there unintentionally during Haarlem music festival, apartment was bouncing with noise until 1am ... no chance of sleep so joined the party
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location, very near the Groot Kirk - nice and quirky, clean and comfortable room. Fantastic luck that by chance we arrived during Haarlem Jazz and enjoyed amazing ambience and entertainment all around the area. Would def stay here again - so much more atmospheric than an anonymous business hotel in Amsterdam.
Cons: Room with balcony was in different building (they did offer for me to move to the other building beside my colleague, so congrats to them on the great comms) and was a little 'bare' - only very minor suggestion would be that the room could have done with a couple of pictures on the wall beside the bed and something on the little balcony other than just the table and chairs.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Tout
Cons: I have nothing to complain about
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous breakfast; location could it have been better and reasonably priced secure parking that for our SUV just around the corner.
Cons: We had to use the toilet sideways as our legs were too long;0
9.2 Excellent
Pros: End of touring holiday parked at local multi storey. Booked room in building above the reception, situated in roof, large opening window- unfortunately opened on to several industrial air con units and extractor chimneys for cafe's below. Noise from these meant window had to be closed but too hot to survive like this had awful first night. Spoke with manager Nebi, very understanding moved us that day (even moved our luggage for us so we enjoy our day out) to split level suite in another building, with air con, excellent service. Easy train into Amsterdam
Cons: first room, too noisy as outside air-con never stopped
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was a lovely continental breakfast with everything you could need, lovely coffee and the staff were extremely helpful and friendly. The decor in the room was a wonderful combination of modern and traditional and the location was brilliant just off the Groute Markt and within easy walking distance of the train station and there are many bike hiring shops in the vicinity. When I visit Haarlem again I will most definately be staying here again.
Cons: The only thing that surprised me was that our room was in a different location to the check in and the breakfast room which isnt conventional but didnt detract from my stay as the staff were so lovely and all propery loacations are nicely decorated.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location to central Haarlem, shopping, Museums and Canal.
Cons: Access via very steep stairs to 4th floor was dangerous and not easy unless you are young and fit. Our apartment was too small for 3 people and had little floor space for the bags. Bathroom was even smaller. Towels were nearly threadbare and some lights weren’t working.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location. Excellent breakfast choice. Very comfortable bed. Friendly helpful staff.
Cons: Not applicable
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the moment we arrived the staff were friendly and professional. The only thing we were not offered yet I heard offered to another patron was the snacks in the evening. Otherwise, this hotel exceeded our expectations. I will definitely be promoting this hotel to others!
Cons: No comment here.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Liked decor, generous breakfasts, so close to the station. Room was typical size for town centre hotel. However was comfortable and well appointed, with coffee machine and a proper kettle and safe. Plenty of shelves and drawers for two of us to unpack for our five night stay. Bed was very comfortable.
Cons: Dropping off from a car right outside the hotel is difficult. There is a side road, but finding your way to it is not straightforward. No hotel parking. Nearest carpark is three minute walk and costs 25 euros per night. (More than made up by the included breakfast).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Proximity to station. Excellent breakfast. Friendly staff.

Pros: The host were extremely helpful. Excellent help with bike rental shop. Great breakfast!
Cons: Bathroom external to the room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was perfect. The room was very clean and cosy. Instant access to the kettle with tea bags and the coffee maker. The owner was very friendly and informative. Highly recommended.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was everything we could have wanted - tasty and beautiful. Everything was very clean and well maintained. Location was close to the train and bus station so it was not difficult to get there from Schiphol Airport using the 300 bus. We enjoyed the use of the bicycles as a great way to see the town of Haarlem and the surrounding countryside.
Cons: The bathroom was not en suite, but there was no one else staying in the additional rooms so it was fine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Kitty and William were amazing hosts not hesitating a minute to give great recommendations, tips and were very kind and helpful! Haarlem is a perfect location to stay.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We walked past the guest house first looking in through the large window (there is no sign and we hadn't looked at the map) and thought it looked great - when we checked the address we walked back. A very friendly welcome from William and Kitty and lots of useful information. The free bikes were great and they gave us suggestions for a route (which was really picturesque). A tasty breakfast in the large front room with Mozart playing quietly on the stereo - a super start to the day.

Pros: Very friendly and nice place to stay to visit Holland.

Pros: Delicious breakfasts!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A warm welcome awaited us from William and Kitty the hosts. William spoke good English and was very helpful with places to see and visit even providing a lift to the station for the train into Amsterdam. Maps were provided of further places to visit and advice given on places to park the car. Breakfast was lovely. Fresh bread, meats, cheeses, jams and boiled eggs. Also coffee and tea, all served on beautiful china. Altogether a great place to stay to visit Amsterdam and the beach if you so wanted. Bikes were available as an alternative to the car.
Cons: The only down side to the Netherlands is car parking is expensive, they would prefer you travel by bike as most people do.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were very friendly and spoke English well. The breakfast was fit for a king! They are located about a 12 minute walk from the train station and are very easy to find. It was an extra bonus that they allowed us to borrow bicycles for free!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, great location and the set menu for dinner was really good.
Cons: Faultless.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very polite & helpful staff. The food in the Bistro is good & it's worth trying out a few of the cocktails.
Cons: There was a music festival on in Grote Square when we arrived. The hotel had notified us of this and told us that the music would go on until 13:00. The festival is described as 'Jazz & More' so we thought it would be quite pleasant and sedate but there was no Jazz just very load bands & techno music, which is fine if you like that sort of thing. It was very, very loud! The hotel upgraded us to rooms at the back but as the hotel is in the centre of Haarlem there was no escaping the noise. This isn't the hotel's fault but it is something to consider if you are booking in August. Other than that the only issue we had was with the pillows, which were too soft (a bit like candyfloss) but that is being picky. It's a good hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, location! And unexpectedly quiet room.
Cons: Lack of hooks for clothing and toiletries bag in the bathroom.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location, staff & a lovely city.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location. Wonderful mattress (Haestens) Wonderful building. Exceptional restaurant.
Cons: The whole building, notwithstanding beautiful, was a little bit rundown with old-style bathroom and outdated facilities.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Large spacious room
Cons: The furniture was a little tired, the room was a loft room and not a smart room we saw on the web and there was always a smell of the drains
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Pleasant building
Cons: Matrasses should be renewed. Bed was too soft (matter of taste) a but also a bit of a bucket (old). New hotel ownership has not changed much (and surely not the beds) from last owner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Its very nice and relaxed
Cons: Can;t think of anything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Location was smack in the middle of town. Restaurants, bars, ice cream, churches nearby Room was good size. Bathroom was clean. Staff was friendly.

Pros: Pretty with a garden space. Great location.
Cons: A little too cozy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was super accommodating with our sleeping arrangement. The breakfast was decadent! We loved the surrounding area, everything was walkable. Such a cozy neighborhood!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very tasty, the hostess super flexible and friendly. The B&B is very centrally located, within walking distance of the supermarket, train station and canal.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The host was really friendly, and because we booked two rooms, we got to stay alone at the house! She provided (more than) everything for breakfast and even left us some beers for chilling after a long day walking around the city! I would definitely stay there again!
7.5 Good
Pros: Our hostess was very sweet and wonderful. She gave us chocolates and a welcome drink. And breakfast was good and plentiful - but was also limiting because it was served at 9am - we left before it on the first day and then didn't get the early start we'd have liked the following day to wait for breakfast (which was beverages, breads, ham, cheese, and a boiled egg). But she did leave us breakfast in the fridge for the day we told her we were leaving very early.
Cons: Beware that once this place has been booked, there is no changing the booking. The location was okay - it's about a 20-25 minute walk to the train station. Although the description of the place says there is a private toilet, it is not in the room but in the main hallway - and not designed for large people. The shower is in the room, however it is a glass encased shower and there is no door for privacy when taking a shower (even a curtain would have made it a little less awkward). There is no way to lock your room when you leave the premises - we were not expecting to have the hostess come in and make our beds and hang up our clothing. And, lastly, if you are allergic to cats, the owner does have one but she urges you to keep your door latched at all times so it does not come into your room.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Welcoming hostess, excellent breakfast, good location for central Haarlem, comfortable bed, good bathroom.
Cons: Problems at times with wifi.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Excellent breakfast served by very pleasant and helpful hostess. Lovely welcome glass of wine and nibbles.
Cons: Room was quite small and stairs very steep. Car parking outside the property was very expensive (equivalent £1 per 15 mins) so we used a car park just over half a mile away which was more reasonably priced but a trifle inconvenient. Wifi was a bit dodgy!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was ideal. The house was beautiful. The host was very helpful and accommodating. The house was walking distance from the train system.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yes, the house is very romantic. Our room was bright and private, with it's own bathroom. The breakfast was wonderful.

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything else. Great place. Nice location just out of the noise of Centrum, but only 5 min walk.
Cons: 16 euro breakfast. For 2 in that is 32 Euro or 50 CDN (where we are from) for a boiled egg, piece of bread and a coffee.. Too high. Should be 10 or free with stay. We walked just a few feet away and had a beauty breakfast for 10 per
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Position is great. Personal is very friendly.
Cons: The moquette on the floor :)
6.0 Good
Pros: Friendly service at lobby.
Cons: Room seemed modern from the outside but old from the inside. No room service after 10:30pm. Clean bath towels had stains.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We s stayed at this hotel may times before - this time it was very noisy, from the front of the hotel where where was building work taking place to the house immediately opposite and more frustratingly from the cleaners who seemed be shouting from one end of our floor to the other and we’re generally very loud. Also most annoyingly, despite paying for a late check out we still received a call asking why we hadn’t left our room. Still a great hotel but mustn’t be tempted to take its eye off the ball.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room very comfortable, expecially the bed. Waiters and chef in restaurant very kind and open to create a special course suited for my needs.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff we're friendly and very helpful - as always. The hotel is in an excellent location. My hotel of choice in Haarlem.
Cons: I always like to have a steam iron in the room. Especially when staying in a good hotel (which the Carlton Square is) and during a long business trip. A small thing I know, but sometimes important for me as a business traveller.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Perfect place to stay everything so close beach, Amsterdam, city, shopping, restaurants, bars......what else do you need or want. Bar staff are super good!! Excellent!

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, very close to the Market Place, the magnificent St Bavo Kerk, the river and all other attractions and facilities. The bed was comfortable enough and the air conditioning very welcome in view of the hot weather!
Cons: Breakfast was not included in the room charge, and at 19.5 euros per head was deemed expensive so we had breakfast elsewhere. The wash basin had an annoying habit of emptying - there must be a leak.
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location. Good size room
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is located directly in the city center, close to all attractions and in walking distance from the train station. The room is exceptionally clean. WiFi speed is great. Highly recommend the hotel for both business and holiday visitors.
Cons: It could be slightly noisy in the rooms facing the street, as it is open to traffic in the morning, but the sound insulation is ok and it does not disturb much. The breakfast (19 EUR) seems to be overpriced, but this is common for the country.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Good location
Cons: poor service at check in, glasses in bedroom were still dirty from previous guests, airconditioning was mediocre and couldn't cope with the warmth (and there wasn't even a heatwave as currently ...)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location, cleanliness and professional and helpful staff.
Cons: The rooms, while exceptionally clean, are a bit drab. Just a bit of freshening the artwork and/or bed linens would help.
7.5 Good
Cons: Nespresso machine in room but no (not even 2) coffee cups to put in
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay was wonderful
Cons: No problems at all.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved this hotel. It was more modern than many of the other hotels in the area. I have Rheumatoid Arthritis- and this hotel had a wonderful elevator- that worked!!! The room was beautiful. The staff was very helpful. I will stay here again.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel service was excellent, we thought we forgot our passport at the room and they helped us immediately to check everything good. The great people, makes great a hotel!
6.7 Good
Pros: Fantastic location Beautiful hotel. Great staircase Lovely room. Plenty of space
Cons: Door to bathroom clicked every time I opened it. See through too Staff member who checked us in although professional, a little wooden in approach.
7.1 Good
Pros: Their breakfast was superb with many choices to choose from. My husband & I also loved that they had mineral water dispenser for each floor which the customers can avail for free.
Cons: Room was a little narrow.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location is great. Staff are so friendly and helpful.
Cons: Nothing. We have stayed there before and it was as good this tome

9.2 Excellent
Pros: It was fantastic value for money. The best choice for my Netherlands trip. Other hotels I stayed at in Leiden and Amsterdam were smaller and pricier, so I am very satisfied with the price I paid for Ambassador at Haarlem. Breakfast was good too!
3.7 Mediocre
Cons: Had to ask for different room when we arrived first one was cold and smelled like musty mouldy
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent service from staff. During the night of Oct 17 or 18 I left my wallet in the lobby and staff took it and saved it for me
7.9 Good
Pros: Comfy bed, great breakfast
Cons: The room was a bit warm which could have been improved if the windows opened properly
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, excellent location
Cons: It is quite large old building with very complex access to some of the rooms
4.6 Okay
Pros: Location
Cons: Room was not ready at check-in time. Room had not been cleaned properly and was never cleaned well during stay of 3 nights. I booked a superior room. There was nothing superior about it (it was in fact a horrible room) and it had dirty walls. Room was fpr 2 people and only had coffee facility for one. Coffee stuff was never cleaned or replenished during stay
7.5 Good
Pros: Location was excellent-very central.
Cons: I checked in around 10pm after flight to Schipol: hotel knew I'd be arriving around that time. Waited around 20 mins t Reception as the two staff sorted out a group of oil workers who were having issues with their bookings. I wasn't acknowledged in any way during that time although I was standing at the desk. Then room-large and fine- was directly above bars which were full and very noisy-raucous crowds-until between midnight and 1am. Hotel full so no chance of a different room. Room very hot-fan provided but couldn't leave window open because of noise from street.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The property is very close to the city centre and the nightlife.
Cons: The rooms are small and not comfortable as you can expect from the price. There’s no vending machines.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location was very central and accessible by bike or walking. You have to take a taxi, because there are no buses or trains near the hotel.
Cons: The breakfast was very expensive for what you got!!! Also, there was no soap or shampoo provided in the room.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was very good
Cons: I was woken up by animals, probably mice or larger, scratching in the cavity between my room. OI was given a new room, but upon discussion at check out found that this isn’t an unusual problem. I won’t be staying here again
5.4 Okay
Pros: Really nice location and the view was amazing. The actual hotel looked really nice, the lobby was impressive. Close to everything.
Cons: When we first got there we got there around 21.30 at night. I thought that we had already paid for the property so when I said this to the older white haired man his response was "do you think I would ask you for payment if you had already paid?". Even my boyfriend that doesnt speak English found the tone rude. But then I continued to ask if he could charged from the card in the booking which he pulled the card machine towards himself without saying anything, tried, and then just looked up and said No. Super rude. Was not a fun start to our weekend at all! Then during the whole stay I got no sleep what so ever. I stayed in room 127 and the window glass was so thin that I could hear someone sneeze outside. And outside was two massive outdoor bars. So you can imagine. Ive never returned home from a vacation so exhausted. The bathroom shower had no door so all the water went everywhere, and the shower head was attached to the wall so you can't even try to salvage the rest of the bathroom. And this was quite obvious when looking at the bathroom door being extremely water damaged.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location in the city centre makes it a great choice as your home base, while staying in Haarlem. The beds were clean and comfortable. The kettle, coffee and tea were much-appreciated amenities. The bathroom was bright and fairly clean (but slight mildew in the lower edges of the shower wall.
Cons: The carpet was blotchy and stained. The room was a bit musty. We had no view (just looked out on to the roof, in a shadowy corner, 90-degrees with at least one other window of another room). One of our towels was also stained and one of the teaspoons provided was clearly used. It was crusty with old coffee. On our second-last day, the cleaning crew didn't change out a used coffee cup and a used glass in the bathroom.

With a stay at Joops City Centre Hotel in Haarlem (Centrum), you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Zandvoort Beach and Circuit Park Zandvoort. Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and a 24-hour front desk.
7.1 Good
Pros: Wet room
Cons: Two single beds just pushed together (I had requested a double bed). No tea-making facilities.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Location is great.
Cons: Useless kitchen. We had large kitchen area with no cutlery at all. (There was even a coffee maker, but we had no idea how to use it without cups:)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spacious apartment, great location!
7.9 Good
Pros: The location was the best. We had a big room for the 5 of us, which was simple, but clean and comfortable. We did not reserve including breakfast.
7.9 Good
Pros: The room was comfortable and it was nice to have the sofa and armchair so we could relax in the room without having to get on the bed. The location is excellent - it's right in the centre.
Cons: I have two complaints. The first was that the room hadn't been cleaned properly nor the beds made properly - the sheets were missing - but when we let the reception staff know they gave us the sheets and saw to it that the room was given a good clean the following day. The second was the cooking facilities. The portable two-ringed electric cooker sits on the sink draining board and that didn't feel very safe. It was also a bit old. It also meant that there was little room for draining the cutlery and crockery. This could be easily and cheaply remedied by putting in a small worktop from the edge of the sink to the wall where the fridge sits. certainly in Room 12.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Position is excellent, handy to everything, back of house staff brilliant(domestics, night manager and chef at ambassador) front desk staff rude arrogant and rubbish seemed to not give a damm. Replace them and this would be a good place.
Cons: Front desk personnel, could not give a damm to patrons of Joops.
7.5 Good
Pros: The room was very spacious and had a comfy sofa and armchair. The beds were also comfortable. The location is great - right by the main square, with lots of cafés and bars but sheltered from all the noise (there was a music festival during our stay). There's also a handy breakfast café right opposite the entrance.
Cons: wifi and one light not working. Although I didn't need to use it, the kitchenette in the room was very poorly equipped.
3.8 Mediocre
Cons: AVOID. The room we booked in advance (and paid good money for!) for 3 people was not available on arrival, so we were given a small room for 2 with a mattress on the floor for the 3rd person in an entirely different hotel! Even this took over an hour to arrange so we were sat in the lobby until well after midnight. When I requested compensation I was passed to multiple different people via email until eventually we were offered a night’s accommodation ‘in the low season but subject to availability’. When I said this wasn’t adequate as we wouldn’t even be in the country I was ignored. Please don’t waste your time and money here.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is the best in Haarlem. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The apartment is big and suitable for a family.
Cons: The apartment could be much better if a few chairs were added, and some kitchen equipment - there is a kitchen but it is empty. One lightbulb was not working, and a sheet was missing on one of the beds. To summarize, the place could use some more attention which would make it a great place to stay.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location.
Cons: I forgot some important personal items in the room and didn’t get any help from the hotel to get them back.
