Refurbished old Hotel across from Halifax's Public Gardens, comfortable and well appointed, with casual and friendly Maritime staff, central to the city's shopping and sightseeing. No complaints.
Great value and service. Close to great places in Halifax.
The location and most staff were great. Food was good. Rooms were not kept cleaned and aired, dust on floors was a bit tooo much. Training (front desk) and attire (restaurant) of staff NEEDS to be revisited urgently. For a hotel of The Lord's Nelson's supposed standing change should be readily available to its guests...I was told there was no change for a 100 USD! USD should be a currency you readily accept. If there is doubt about authenticity maybe a counterfeit machine should be employed at front desk. Train the staff. Have reliable tour companies on call for guests.
Very comfortable, lovely atmosphere Cost of parking
Location is perfect, across from the lovely Public Gardens and within walking distance of downtown, university and harbor areas. Staff was courteous and helpful. Breakfast buffet was extensive. Hotel was very clean and beds were comfortable.
the hotel staff, without exception, were friendly, courteous and extremely helpful. What a delight !
Quiet except for doors banging shut. Cost of parking high.
The convieniance to shopping and close to downtown Halifax. The room was not what I expected. I may not have seen the right picture on your site when I booked.
Hotel was in perfect, extremely close, location to main shopping district, which was the main reason for our visit to Halifax. We stayed in classic queen room, bathroom was very small.
Everything I can not pinpoint anything that I can honestly say I disliked except I thought parking should be included in price.
Good location for where I needed to be.
Very clean room , w-lan , good location, friendly staff noisy rooms
I had a spacious room - very bright. Plus the hotel gave back $5 coupons for not using the daily room cleaning service which is something I never use anyway. I also liked the Starbuck's bar in the lobby. When I checked in the couple beside me were told their room rate was $89 per night and I was paying over $200 per night - I felt I had been taken advantage of by this booking service.
Was very clean and nice the staff were all very friendly and accommodating, would def recommend! Best hotel I've stayed in for downtown Hali!
Location is convenient for a walk on the piers. Car parking large and easy to reach it. Hotel is not really new. The room was very small and old components inside. We paid too much for the room they gave us. Breakfast not so nice compared to the cost.
Good location, good parking facilities, nice rooms and excellent American Breakfast.
MY car was broken into and personal belongings were stolen. The hotel took no responsibility and showed no compassion for this incident
The close proximity to the train station and the boardwalk When we booked the hotel in advance we didn't know what was going on in Halifax in that pictular time frame as it was our 39 wedding anniversary at this Hotel we found the service was poor Also the room that we paid very dearly for can now be turned back into the orginal broom or linen closet that they had stuck a bed into for the week that the concerts and tall ships were there. Definetely not worth the price. Very disapointed..
Perfect downtown location. Close to shopping and restaurants.
luxurious beds and bedding , flat screen tv, large bathroom , all the action of seeing the younger generation dressed to the nines for the nightclub adjacent high priced parking , but can understand in a city
Location, location, location. Near to downtown, VIA RAIL, Waterfront, great restaurants, and most all the usual tourist attractions.
It was in a good location. See about. It feels past it's prime.
needs restaurant or café or continental breakfast clean -quiet--parking should be in
location and hotel staff restaurant and view
Great location and price. The hotel is very close to the waterfront and was ideal for our vacation time in Halifax. Very comfortable. The room needed some repairs when we arrived, but staff were very helpful and got those taken care of quickly. We had little hot water one morning, but it was fine the next day.
booking was not as posted on web page,,,,hotel staff indifferent,
Nice hotel, staff and breakfast. Location is 8 blocks uphill/ downhill from waterfront. Walking the 8 blocks uphill back to the hotel was a physical workout. I would have preferred a hotel about 4 blocks or less from water
The staff were professional and couteous, the room was clean and spacious, breadkfast is provided, and the location is central to the downtown area. Nothing.
I was taking my daughter to Dalhousie university, a 4km round trip from this hotel. Lovely rooftop terrace overlooking the harbour, walking distance to shops and restaurants....and the campus. A reasonable drive to shopping and sights outside of the city centre. The room was very spacious with a handy mini kitchen area. A good sized decent fitness facility with hot tub. I will be back, perhaps with family. Two levels of parking underneath. The girls at the front desk were very helpful with directions anywhere I asked to go. I was thankful for the use of the business centre and printer for the printing of my boarding pass before I left. No.
The harbour view for only $10 upgrade Breakfast room got very congested at certain times, especially around the very slow moving toaster.
Very Convenient and great amentities, within, room very comfortable.
The room was a comfortable size and the bed was great. House keeping was loud while cleaning the rooms. The floors were not vaccumed once in our week long stay at the hotel.
Location was fabulous with restaurants very near and close to the waterfront - a lot of Halifax is reachable by a short walk.
Friendly staff. Fast and efficient maintenance assistance when we needed door locked on adjoining room which had been left opened. Bathroom toiletries were nice quality. Bed wasn't very comfy and the pillows were the absolute worst (had ear and neck ache next morning). Felt like thin walls, especially when a crying dog woke us up at 6:30am.
I loved the room, the location, the gym, the breakfast and the staff! There is not a single thing not to love about this hotel!
Location, spacious suite
Excellent hotel loved the renos since our last stay.
i have been staying at the prince since 1987 the location i likeb best no
comfortable bed and great maid service Underground waking to Scotia Square! Called ahead to make sure their parking would accommodate a full size truck. Was told yes. Getting in was not a problem but getting out was nerve wracking!! One truck had its side scaped trying to maneuver the tight corner while another had its truck cap scraped while we were there!!!
The facilities and were excellent. The location is ideal for the city of Halifax.TH The P.G. was expensive as all hotels are in the Halifax area.
The dinner we had Friday night was absolutely marvellous! Both dishes were elegantly presented and cooked to perfection.
Location, cleanliness, modern, great parking, long time client. In the past I ahve been a client of this hotel many times for business purposes and had great service. Not this time. I was denied my provicial government discount and was very displeased. It was not until it went to the manager in he morning that the decision was reversed. The reason I was told that I was denied was because I booked on line. As I feel thisis an advertising tool, I feel that this was not a reason and that I am the same client I was am. In the morning however, I was told that I was denied as the hotel was booked to capacity. I have never heard of this before. The manager finally reversed the decision after lengthy diecussion but still charged me $10 extra over what the clerk told me was the government rate the night before. Very poor service and not an enjoyable stay. Unfortunate as I actually love to stay here.
Good location. Good lounge. Excellent restaurant. Nice staff. Pillows are way too hard. They used to have down. They no longer know the difference between down and feather pillows.
The staff and the location were great. The bed was very comfortable. I thought the price for parking was excessive and the room rate was very high.Parking should have been included in the room rate at the price I paid.
When booked, we had hoped for a hotel within walking distance of all our past memories - from the Citadel to the waterfront - and The Prince George fit the bill perfectly. We went to the Tattoo on Friday evening - and when booking, had no idea where the building centre holding the event was. Imagine how pleased we were to learn it was across the street! Missed a hotel bar....
It is simple but nice The ends are too soft for me
I liked that I was at the heart of the city and had access through the Ped-way to manu amenities. The pool is in need of serious renovation- the rust around the edge is not very appealling.
They were able to upgrade us to a one bedroom suite when we were dissatisfied with the room they gave us when we registered. Although it cost more they were very friendly and looked after moving our belongings while we were out for the afternoon. We thought the room assigned at registration was less than what we had booked online. We also thought our booking included breakfast but this was not provided. Parking Garage is a long way from the lobby and difficult to get to particularly for seniors. Finally, the swimming pool was closed but we were not informed about that when bookin or at check-in. They did provide us alternate use of the pool at Delta Barrington however this was a very long walk through the shopping mall and over-street walkway through a second mall to the lobby and then to the pool.
I booked two extra rooms for my family and when they arrived, the hotel did not have either room booked. My father had the email copy of the booking, so they ended up in the the other Delta, not the one I was staying in.
The beds were very comfortable and the front desk staff were very helpful with bus routes and shopping info. Had to request toilet tissue as it wasn't replaced one day.
I liked the Ped-way connection to the hotel. It made it very convenient to get around. The parking "situation" was not clearly explained and we ended up paying much more in parking fees than was necessary.
Close to all the attractions in downtown Halifax The maid fogot one day to leave glasses the next day coffee
We check out the next,,just after we got there friday..The exterminar was there.just down from our room ..For health and safety reason we check out Saturday morning...we had to pay for parking which we thought was include with our stay....there was a bad smell in the room...We didnt have a water view...,will not stay there again
The staff was great. Always friendly and super helpful. The room was clean and spacious.
We loved the hotel location, the quick access to a food court/mall, pedway and city sites. We worked out in the gym and swam in the pool and Aaron in the hotel restaurant was a joy...polite, knowledgeable about sites to see and a big welcome smile, Huge thank you to Jade who helped us via phone from Vancouver to correct a booking two days before arrival, was our contact on the phone when we got turned around in the hotel on arrival and who kindly sent us a welcoming note and a fruit and cheese platter welcome in our room after check in. I met her at the hotel desk at checkout and had to give her a big hug!! Lorenzo was so polite, calm and kind when we all checked in and our requested rooms from a booking made 8 months previously and corrected by phone with Jade two days prior to arrival (only 1 room was booked even though confirmation said 2) were not available! He got us settled in side by side, harbour view, patio rooms....thank you Lorenzo! The start of a month in the Maritimes got off to a fabulous start due to these employees....we'll done!! The Delta Hotel has the nicest staff I've ever encountered while travelling and staying at a chain hotel!!!
Very helpfull staff, clean rooms and very close to all the attractions in Halifax.
Clean and comfortable Television did not have a channel for program listings - had to click thru all to find out what was showing - phone book
Convenient location. Was very overpriced.
The overall feel of the hotel was welcoming. Lovely facility and well maintained. Staffing was courteous and pleasant and very helpful. We loved the location and the fact that we could walk along the boardwalk and also walk around the city itself from that point. We were pleasantly surprised by a lovely bottle of Champagne in our room as we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. As I said, the staff was fabulous. It would have been nice to have had an option for breakfast but we were happy to see Starbucks on site and had our coffee and yogurt breakfast each day and saved the extra calories for a wonderful dinner in town on our walks. As for parking, it was an unexpected expense as we thought it was included in cost of reservation. As we found, however, in large cities this is common. Our car was safe and accessible and it was worth the money not to worry.
The location was exellent!! no
the hotel need renovation
Location was just a block from the waterfront. There was a full bar in the lobby. And a full breakfast for a reasonable price in the morning. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. Couldn't ask for a better hotel experience for our vacation.
spacious rooms, friendly efficient service, bathroom supplies were of good quality, good quality furniture and televisions. Price was a bit steep for a night's stay.
The staff was very friendly and the atmosphere inviting. A great place to stay with spacious accomodations.
The room was spacious and the beds were absolutly wonderful!. I especially enjoyed the feather pillows and that there were lovely large towels in the bathroom.
We stay at this hotel frequently. It is our favorite place to stay in Halifax. We love that the sleeping area is separate, that way you can have guests in your room. With the pull out couch, cafe table, sink, fridge and microwave plus tv in one room and tv and beds in another there is plenty of room for everyone. We enjoy the pool and hot tub as well. We could not get the sauna to work. One girl swimming in the pool thought she found a piece of glass in the pool.
Free coffee I booked a king size and my room had two queens also the toillettes didn't flush
Excellent location, large room, comfortable beds. Excellent staff...one of the best in Halifax. In need of some renovations - nothing not working, property just showing its age.
we liked the layout of the Suite with a separate bedroom and living sections. All hotel staff was very courteous and friendly. The room was well equipped with amenities. some cosmetic maintenance needs to be completed in this room - areas where paint was off the walls by the window and as well there had been previously a leak in the bedroom ceiling that now discoloured and left maintenance work to be done.
I liked the location of the Radisson as well as the layout of the room.
design of the 2 Queen bedroom suite and the friendliness of the valet guys ...Made us really feel welcome .. kids are used to sleeping in A bit of heat and they froze ...couldn't get heat higher than 68 degrees ...lol
Quiet, relaxing, close to shops and water front boardwalk.
warm atmosphere, free access to internet, location, breakfast decoration
The charm, history, and location were wonderful. No elevators, but that was announced and expected.
Once again the Waverley Inn gave us a very enjoyable stay, an easy walk to downtown and the Harbor, also so many good places to eat right on the door step.
The rooms was beautiful and the food was AMAZING Our room was on the top floor which was 4 flights up. We made it okay, but perhaps patrons should be warned that it can be a hefty walk-up.
location breakfasts were just ok; noisy hostel across street
The staff were very friendly & helpful. The breakfasts were good.Liked the afternoon tea & sweets.
\it was comfortable, had a really nice atmosphere, breakfast was included, and had computer access for guests.
The warm, friendly atmosphere in this very individual hotel.
The location was fantastic for visiting Halifax, everything was so close, it was great to step out the door and walk everywhere. Our room was the Queen Delux (103) and the jaccuzzi tub was a nice size and a real asset to the room. The bed had feather pillows, duvet and mattress cover. After the second night it was hard on my allergies to sleep. It was comfortable, and I'm sure a selling point to many, but not so much to my husband and I.
lovely old converted house, more like a large B & B than a hotel. Reception staff very friendly and obliging - obviously enjoy their job and are good at it. .
Charming, clean, friendly No fitness room
Hotel was awesome and very impressed, however the elevators are extremely slow. It took upwards of 10-15 mins at times for us to get up and down to and from the 15th floor.
good breakfast and great location. Easy access to all site seeing amenities & waterfront attractions. Professional, curteous and efficient service at front desk. Even the cleaning staff was friendly and helpful. liked the added security of needing the room card for the parking and the use of the elevator. Lack of fan in the bathroom. Pool temperature was a bit too cool to enjoy.
The hotel was in walking distance to all if halifax harbor front. We wished there was a small fridge in the room.
Beautiful new rooms, spacious, great location. waited for 30 minutes to check in (huge lineup with lots of agitated guests) only one elevator, so waited 10+ minutes to get on the elevator EVERY time we had to use it (ended up giving up and taking the stairs a few times) For $180/night we could have stayed at one of Halifax's other beautiful hotels with less headaches.
The staff was friendly enough. The people serving in the restaurant were very nice and friendly, eating there was a nice occasion The hotel is starting to look worn... Our room could have been better it needs some renovations... it was still acceptible
The generously sized room was much appreciated. I enjoyed the easy way staff switched between English and French. I also liked the willingness to offer non-menu items for breakfast. The rooming staff were flexible and we didn't feel pushed out of our room for their convenience, which is something which happens in some hotels. The room heating unit was noisy and had to be switched off to allow sleep. Normally it might not have mattered but I was jet lagged, feeling cold and needed some daytime shut-eye.
We had a comfortable and clean room. Good food in the restaurant and friendly staff It cost $14.00 for overnight parking
It was very close to shopping centres and easy access to the pier, where we spent 80% of our time.
Reception and staff was friendly No wireless in the room. Conversations from other room could be heard. The air in the 10th floor could be freshened-too much smoking smell even in the corridors.
Promixity to downtown. It was old. Furniture and fixtures very dated. Very small bathrooms. Undergoing major renovations.
Close to the Metro Centre We booked a smoking room and didn't get it. The A/C was broken and no window to open for fresh air, we were given a small fan and the pillows were flat and lumpy.
Our room had very bad smell to it?
The location is excellent.
The house staff were very friendly and accommodating. I am aware that the power failure was not due to the hotel itself, but a result of Hurricane Bill.. However, the fact that we had very little water, were unable to flush the toilets and could not use the phone to request an escort down the very dark stairwell for the entirety of the Saturday was very inconvenient. In particular, the toilet issue was very frustrating with no alternatives offered to guests.
Lovely location. Polite,friendly,helpful staff. Immaculate.

Location was great There was no breakfast menu in the room when I called down to inform them I was told they could read it over the phone I asked for one to be sent up. 15 minutes or so later i was called and told they don't offer breakfast to guests staying one night.

The staff were very friendly and ready to help you any time. The fact that the car need to be park by the staff, and mostly that I can not have acces to my car by myself. But was not a big deal either...
Rooms 53 dollars for two nights to park a truck was a little much
The location It's over looks other buildings. Great view but can't enjoy it without other people in your business.
The room was great No sauna, but that was fine. Also for the price of the stay a breakfast of some sort should have been included.
I loved the location and the room was large. The pool was tiny, and the price almost doubled with taxes add-ons, such as marketing fees, and parking.

Location was excellent for visiting Halifax. With the free parking on wsekends , it worked out very well. Air conditioner was problematic, but the staff member onduty did her best to reactivate it.
Location, great room size for value. Full kitchen really had a full kitchen. Lobby is so tiny and doesn't feel like hotel. If you are looking to sleep in, keep in mind the very loud construction directly across the street starting at 7am (summer-ongoing 2015) When I got to my room there was a large soaking wet spot on the floor... When I asked I didn't get an answer.. Hmm..
Didn't like tha I checked in after 3, but only one room was ready, so I was over the parking garage on the first floor.
