Convenient location to the hauptbahnhof and old town.
I checked in after 5pm on a weekday and was at first confused on how to check in. There is a sign for the hotel on the street and another in a small courtyard. No sign of a reception desk, but being a budget hotel with only a handful of rooms that's to be expected. There's a sign on the door just below the hotel sign of the street directing guests to call a phone number. You call, get a receptionist who's obviously elsewhere. He directs you to go towards the courtyard, but just prior to entering the courtyard, look right towards a doorway (which at night is dimly lit). Locate a yellow box on the wall to the left of the door, then the guy over the phone gives you a PIN number to enter. Out pops your room key just like a vending machine.
position very good and quiet
basic decor interesting final details lacking to make it really special
location is good
Room was clean and comfortable and good value for money
Pillows were too soft for my liking but other than that nothing
It s quiet. Close to the Hauptbahnhof and main city entrance. Parking between 18:00 and 8:00 is free.
Unpersonal check-in, just a key dropping from a box after punching in code. You need a phone to get that code in the 1st place. Breakfast is ok but limited in place and selection. No airco, room can be warm in summer.
The rooms were quite small. It was always so difficult to find the staff, even though they were very friendly. The rooms were not cleaned regularly. The charges were quite high compared to that.
Convenient the train station. Breakfast was the best buffet breakfast we had during the trip.
Across the street from a part with lots of homeless folks. A long walk to the center of town and not much around the area except the train station.
Well equipped, spacious, clean rooms with secure access. Easy access to the station, trams and buses. Close to the supermarket. As mentioned in other reviews - good breakfasts too! Staff spoke good English.
The electricity needs a little tweak - you need a card to turn on lights etc. but the fridge is connected to that circuit so gets warm while you are not in the hotel. I'm sure that will be sorted quickly though. It is strange that there is no reception but there was always someone about who could help - sometimes this envolved ringing the hotel phone to find them but that was ok.
Spacious room for three people with kitchenette, artful modern furnishings, clean and comfy beds, slippers. Location very close to train depot and buslines yet quiet and private. Breakfast good with selection of warm sausage, meats, cheeses and fresh bread or cereal.
Minor discrepency over booked price, but readily settled with copy of reservation. Staff not available most of day, but there when needed.
Convenient and a real value.
The steep stairs were nearly impossible to use with a heavy bag.
The BS Boarding House provides a great place for travelers to relax after a busy day. It's easy to keep connected with the property's Wi-Fi in designated areas. The hotel is conveniently located a short 300m drive from Central Station Heidelberg. Seeing the sights from this hotel is easy with Heidelberg's attractions including Hotel Zum Ritter and Heidelberg Castle close by. After a long day of sightseeing, guests can retire to the comfort of the hotel.
Policies vary by room type and provider.
