Staff were fairly friendly, tea and coffee was there Room was dirty, not value for money overall
Large, clean room, friendly staff, good shower and kettle useful. Also a good breakfast and prompt help when my card got demagnetised. Bit basic with some facilities, especially lack of bathmat and freeview tv channels. Could also do with better coffee somehow!
clean; polite staff occasional loud pipework/plumbing noise; poor architecture: the view of the roof was needlessly depressing
Very clean and fresh look to the hotel, attentive staff and very nice lounge/dining area None - everything was good
Rooms were large, good showers! Unfriendly, unhelpful staff who are not interested in the customer and don't know how to work their own systems.
Location The room was bleak, there were people running up and down the corridor at 4am, singing and shouting
Too few towels, pillows and tv channels. Lift out of order. Rude man on reception. Have to pay for parking on top of room cost. Not good. The bathroom though clean, was not in great shape. lots of discolouration. The bed was Very creaky and moved.
Staff were friendly and polite `There was alot of noise well into the early hours doors banging people shouting to each other until about 03.40
Very friendly and attentive staff. computer keyboard was replaced immediately. served within a reasonable time at the restaurant. Although the room was adequate for our needs, it smelt of cigarette smoke the moment we walked into the room. that same night, I did not sleep very well as the bedclothes smelt of cigarette smoke and being a non-smoker, it affected me. On arrival, we were asked to complete a form and I read that smoking was prohibited and if caught smoking, a penalty would be incurred. Outside our window we saw cigarette ends and a lighter. During the course of the night at approx 1.45 am, a smoke alarm sounded, causing a bit of panic and not knowing if we had to follow the evacuation procedure.
Staff were very helpful. This was my first time in Northampton and I didn't know my way around, staff provided map and advice of where shops etc were located. There were no 'mini' complimentary tolietries in my room and the soap dispenser in the shower was empty during the whole of my one week's stay
excellent room dissapointing bar food
staff were a lil frustrating when trying to check out some details. also when asked to pay by cash. the staff put the bill through on to credit card with out informing myself. along with not being there in person. this was uncalled for!!!
Comfortable beds, good food in bars and resturant In room breakfast was a disaster with no plate, no preserves and the butter had melted to a liquid, and teapot was unusable.
Friendliness of staff especially at breakfast
It was within easy access of Rugby and Northampton, all of the staff very pleasant and polite. As we were tight for time we didn't get to grips with the Leisure facilities but it all looked excellent. Had a slight problem with its name - Daventry Hotel as it was different to the one we booked - Barceló but once we arrived that was sorted out and allw as fine thereafter.
It was in the centre of town - good location, good temperature lumpy bed, noisy disco until 12.30am
Convenient location. Good local restaurants to choose from. Room we had could have done with a bit of a revamp
friendly atmosphere good entertainment nice friendly staff lovely clean spacious rooms in a very central spot
The room was clean and cool (a blessing in the summer heat), the bed was comfortable. A very convenient bar downstairs with a decent beer on tap. No noise from the music etc in the pub downstairs. Breakfast was fine. Noise from pub air-conditioning or something in the room. The cook did not speak any english so we were not able to order anything other than a set breakfast (although it tasted good) and we got the wrong drinks (cappucino instead of cup of tea)
The whole stay was great None
Nothing at all. It was truly dreadful! Dreadful rooms, incompetent staff, a toilet that didn't work with a turd in it to greet me, disgusting breakfast. I could go on...
The hotel room is too hot. No privacy as when I was trying to get some nap after coming back from work my room door was open twice by the cleaner. This is not a good one as for the first time I was in the bathroom when my door was open. When I came out from the room no apology from her at all.
Breakfast finished at 9am
Location. Over a Pub and very noisy. Also no air conditioning so very hot.
Location As above
walking the grounds
The room , breakfast We came to sedgebrook hall only for a relaxing weekend.we wanted.to use the swimming pool and jacussi but we couldn't because these was out of order.at no point was we informed about this.would you consider letting us stay for free again when these facilities which we payed for are actually working
The Pub next door. The grounds and setting. Not too peaceful if staying in room during day, due to busy maids. Expensive if late checkout required
Hotel staff all were very helpful, lovely English breakfast. Long walk to the room, not ideal for the disabled. Bed was very soft, (each to there own) Noise in the corridoor very late to early hours of the morning. I feel there should be signs on all door (please respect other people sleeping.)
The room was really lovely and warm, the breakfast was also really good!
Peace n quiet
The swimming pool, sauna & jacuzi. Even though the heating was on full in the room, it still wasn't warm enough. Everywhere in the hotel seemed warmer than our room.
It is convenient to the sailing and breakfast was good i asked for a twin room when booking as I was staying with my mother. As it was a double we were given she went home and did not stay a bit disapppointing as I had specified it when booking
Good atmosphere in the bar, friendly and polite staff Looked to have good facilities Good food - nice breakfast with plenty of choice
The rooms were very comfortable and staff extremely helpful. The bar, lounge and restaurant were also very welcoming. Food was very good. The smell of cigarette smoke in a first floor corridor
The outside of the building and the inside of the accomodation block looked very tired and unkempt. Areas of the block smelt of damp and initially the room was very cold, also toilet broken and no heating in the bathroom. The security lock to the block was broken, leaving it insecure all night. The stairs and access to rooms would be difficult for the elderly. The old part of the building was OK but the whole of the outside needed a good make over and some serious maintenance. First impressions not good and this is the initial view one gets from the car park.
evening meals size of room verry poky.leaking skylight in bathroom
The hotel was cold and struggling with the sub-zero temperatures outside.
Good accomodation at a fair price. Ideal location for where I wanted to be.
The reception staff were very friendly and rooms were very clean if a bit out of date The room was quite cold despite the heating being on and the amount of bed clothes / balankets was insufficient for the current cold weather.
Excellent value for money and very helpful staff The cost of breakfasts!
Staff friendly Quite Old fashioned In need of decoration
reception very friendly, nice breakfast environment didnt like room away from main hotel building
the staff were friendly they failed dismally at catering for the no of people wanting breakfast at the same time.
Restaurant coped very well with a grumpy older member of our group Mobile phone reception is poor - between us we had at least 3 providers but all of them were patchy. I think this is an area problem rather than the hotel
able to relax, enjoy a quiet business conversation in the exquisite bar area, and an excellent meal getting wet in between my room and the bar/dining area
The general ambience was delightful, a mixture of "outside and Inside" feeling, rather than the normal claustrophobic sensation of a "one-building" hotel. I admit the carpet entrance to the group of three rooms which my family used was a wee bit grubby - and one receptionist was a bit sharp. But i am splitting hairs. The hotel was 99% delightful.
lovely countryside location
The staff were friendly, very helpful, making sandwiches for us even though the kitchen was closed, as we had arrived late due to the bad weather, and served us in the bar, the food was very good, hot and fresh breakfast buffet. I had an 'old blood stain' on a pillow case, which I know was clean but it did not look nice, I pointed this out to housekeeping and mentioned to the reception when I checked out. The radiator in the ensuite did not appear to work either, which was brought to their attention upon check out.
Everything was great from the food and drink to the great leisure facilities
The room was very comfortable
The helpfulness of all the staff The dining area is like a corridor and there were families where the parents let their children run up and down. Hell for the diner looking to enjoy a quite meal!
unforiunatly due to busy schedule did not have time to use any of what looked like very good amieneties, but what i did use were very good eg resteraunt coffee lounge.
Very good value. pleasnt staff, would go again
Nice grounds to walk round before dinner, well maintained gardens in a nice location. Although it was a no smoking room there was a distinct smell of tabaco smoke in the room.
Room very clean & comfortable. Nice extra touches, iron, board & trouser press also options for different pillow types. Loved the blackout screens.
There was no reservation received when checking into the Hotel. There was only one room avalable for that night which was a smoking room which we had to except, it was lucky we checked in before going onto our venue otherwise we would not have checked in until 11.00 and no doubt there would not have been a toom available.
Cheerful staff I booked my room online but on arrival at the hotel there was no reservation for me. Luckily there were rooms available for the night. Light over bed was not working.
The grounds were terrific as we had our dogs with us. Our booking when we arrived at reception was under another name but our address?and the other name kept appearing on the computer? We did not purchase any breakfast as we thought it was very expensive at £12.50.
bar and food
Gym facilities Toilet in room had not been flushed!
good location (near the highway). the hotel is clean. comfort is good the restaurant is not a the level we canb expect for a Holiday Inn. Cost of internet connection (15 pound for 24 hours) is too expensive, and should be included in the room cost.
Nice helpful staff.
Comfortable bed Room was a bit pokey.
Not too much, basic cheap, bit very comfortable Rooms looked better on the Internet, very basic and cheap fit out. Functional but better out there for the money
Comfort and cleanliness of the room unable to get a late drink at the bar
Very handy location and excellent value for money Nothing at all wrong with the hotel, perfect
very reasonably priced and a nice breakfast. It was very basic and the restaurant wasn't open on either night of our stay.
Clean and tidy room Poorly serviced, lack of towels, meagre tea and coffee allowance, nothing to say the hotel really cares about it's customers, just bland and nothing special.
Very pleasant and helpful happy staff. Everywhere spotlessly clean and fresh. Excellent food, good beer! Excellent value for the price. Can`t fault it.This hotel is on j15 m1 (uk) None
This is the second stay at this hotel. We were wanting to stay close to Silverstone and this was very convenient. Everywhere was exceptionally clean and beds were very comfortable. We had an evening meal and breakfast, not what I would call gourmet however it was very nice.
Very clean, excellent facilities, very comfortable. Delicious breakfast, Air conditioned rooms, friendly staff.
Good location off the motorway. Excellent value for money. Good size rooms and very clean. breakfast was served 8am-10am, and we had to leave at 7.30am so missed out.
Helpful & friendly staff, good location, clean room and surrounding areas, easy to find No bad points just little extras which would help ie: Fridge (we had to take sandwiches to a bowls competition at a local school). Tea making facilities for all occupants (only enough for 2 when there were 3 in the room).
Everything excellent No Bad points
Room was very cold , and had a watery noise coming from ceiling ?
breakfast & friendly staff we chose the champagn & chocolate offer including breakfast, this was a very large room but noisy from the traffic at the front of the hotel.
Convenience for Cropredy Folk Festival. Good car parking. Sunday morning bell ringing Room - though non-smoking, smelt of stale smoke. Also, for the cost of the room I think it a lttle surprising that the breakfast was not included in the cost
The staff were helpfull friendly and welcoming, The quality of food provided was excellent however was overcooked and dry
The restaurant food was amazing, had a glorious meal on Friday night. Eggs Benedict for breakfast another highlight No lift.
Very little I thought the hotel rooms and reception area was 'tired'. There were no bar staff at approx 20.30 and it tok me 12 minutes to be served. The kipper (no haddock available) I was served at reakfast were poorly cooked. The staff (excluding bar) were very pleasant.
We booked the rooms to attend a function happening at the hotel - it was very convenient for this purpose and comfortable. We thought that the breakfast was overpriced - but we did not need to take it!
ideal for our business plus pleasure visit shopping.exellent location for a visit to banbury. very clean and comfortable, hotel staff very friendly and helpful will use again soon
Situation in village, friendly staff, nice room, quiet location Black out curtains/blinds needed (every hotel I have stayed in falls short on this point), doors that don't let in blinding beams of light at floor level. Also breakfast could have been better organised; there were no cereal dishes available until the cooked dishes were served.
Kind staff I had dinner at the hotel and I found there was only course menu although it was very good.
Very relaxing, but professional approach by staff and presentation of hotel. On this occasion, the room I stayed in. The bathroom looked a little tired compared to the rest of the rooms I've stayed in on other stays.
Very peaceful location. There was a mix up with the room on arrival but this was immediately dealt with by the staff who were helpful and polite throughout our stay. The room was terrfic, very comfortable although we would have liked an extra armchair instead of just one or is that just our age!? The information stated internet facilities in the room but I had to sit in reception areas to receive the WiFi connection but I believe this was because we stayed in one of the larger rooms in the old section of the hotel.
good service good foof fair price all good
i would have liked to have a desk in the bedroom, next time i'll ask for one.
A lovely Hotel in a very beautiful picturesque village. It was'nt long enough
I always try to stay here as in my opinion its the best value for money in the area. I'm still amazed that this hotel does not charge upwards of £100 per night. Refreshing to see that Customer Service is not a thing of the past in the UK as most other hotels seemed to of lost. Internet connection is very intermittent, annoying when trying to access emails.
The whole experience
staff and food were of a very high standard
Location was very convenient as we were going to local funeral. Liked decor and atmosphere, bed very comfortable.
Staff friendly, food was delicious...good clean comfortable accomodation, well located. Comfortable bed. Room a little small, otherwise good
Everything was just "ok", there was nothing wrong with the hotel but there was nothing to shout about either. For some reason they seem to have touched up the paintwork on some doors and put up no warning signs so my partner got her hands covered in paint opening a door.
Excellent food, bright modern room, great shower. Internally advertised 'dine and stay' not available as we had booked on- line, although I understand we received the internet room rate, a reduction of £20
Very clean and new bathroom with nice toiletries. Warm. Comfortable bed. Friendly staff-got me a sandwich on arrival though kitchen had shut 30mins befoore I got there. Coffee was rather cold at breakfast
High quality room, great bar, breakfast excellent None at all
Very clean and modern quiet room Bathroom lights did not all work
Friendly staff and very good food. Even breakfast was a pleasant and jolly experience - all too often a sombre affair!
Very friendly and helpful staff. Superb and plentiful breakfast which was freshly prepared. The only downfall to our stay was road noise which was a little disturbing, however, as we live in the depths of the countryside, we are used to absolute quietness and this has a bearing on the answer.
Efficient check in & check out Up graded room a pleasant surprise Poor evening meal Neither the meat or the potatoes were properly cooked I did not complain as i was one of a large party but at £32.50 not good
Reception staff were excellent Noise from people sitting outside after 11pm kept me awake. At breakfast there was nobody to seat me so I chose a table myself at was then told off for sitting in the wrong place.
the comfort of the room and the excelent breakfast
Hotel felt homely and welcoming Nothing
The staff were outstandingly helpful and friendly. The restaurant for dinner was exceptional, breakfast ok. Parking facilities were very good. Will stay again because of the staff and proximity to Silverstone. The heat in the bedroom was too much for comfort. The staff supplied fans and cooling equipment and offered to move us if necessary. Hotel requires a little TLC
It is very comfortable and relaxing Disappointed that the location was in the centre of the town
Staff friendliness and attitude Grubby bed linen and bedspresd
Large well equipped room, arm chairs (a big plus), comfortable bed. Very convenient garage, helpful staff, excellent breakfast. None
The staff was very helpful, location just off the high street in Buckingham is ideal. Carpark is small but I never failed to find a space. Restaurant is a bit expensive but food was quite good. I stayed for three nights on the top floor in room 221 and came away disappointed. The hallways and room are in need of renovation. The carpet, duvet cover and upholstery on the furniture were worn. The weather during my stay was somewhat warm but the poor ventilation on the top floor meant that the room remained uncomfortable until well after midnight despite a fan placed directly in front of the open window. Complimentary wifi worked most of the time but having to get a new code for each device each day was a nuisance.
very good restaurant, very good breakfast facility and rooms are run down, bed was awful
Fresh milk in jug in fridge in room Noise of fan system when window open
Everything, the room, the big parking space (unusual for England), the bed, the triple-glazed windows, the bathroom, the little things inside the room that are quite useful, (kettle, hair dryer, etc), and the staff. No free breakfast. 'Free' wifi was too slow to watch youtube. There is a 'premium' one for a fee. That's wrong. I had fast wifi in a cheap motel in the US. Internet is a basic thing nowadays. Free breakfast and a fast wifi would get them another star.
Predictable A little hard to get to from the direction I was coming
I was extreamly impressed with this hotel, so much so that I have written a letter to the hotel to thank them None
Quick check in and good breakfasts Arrived at 5.00pm and the corridor to my room was littered with room service trays that had not yet been collected. Created a bad impression.,
Nice interior of the common facilities Room really hot windows don't open very far, they supplied a small fan which basically circulated warm air around the room. They supplied cushions instead of pillows for the bed which made awkward sleeping on top of the heat and the noise of the fan having to be on all night. Food and drink prices very steep in terms of quality.
Breakfast was decent enough, room was clean, bed was comfy, handy for the golf course if you like golf Decor a bit dated, shower could have been better
Comfortable room with proper bathroom (ie a bath!), windows that actually open, easy access to hotel from ring road, surprisingly good restaurant. Cost of room and meal high for location, time of year and day of the week (Saturday).
Clean and tidy friendly staff Room a bit small, no lift.
Food was excellent Drinks seemed pricey but that may be Marriot general policy.
The room was lovely- v.clean and comfortable! The Angel Spa Treatment Lady was fantastic. The staff were great too. The food was very expensive- didn't personally think it was worth the price. The windows are very thin- not ideal for a hotel located near a busy motorway, it also left the room really cold during the night. The aircon in the room was broken and we could not turn it off at all- disturbed our nights sleep!
Very good value for money
Good location for travel up m1. Effective/swift resolution by management of complaints. Mariotts have modern rooms and Canadian-style facilities. Confusion by check in staff on difference between full account prepayment and recording of credit card details for room charges. After a long corridor walk, we found our room was already occupied - raising security issues, not to mention a major inconvenience. We were not alerted that a four digit code is required to exit the parking lot, requiring a return to the desk.
The room was extremely spacious, clean and airy. We could have done with another set of towels as needed to shower on night of arrival and then again next morning. I do understand that the provision of one set of towels per person tends to be the standard policy of most hotel chain.
easy come easy go swimming and sauna conveniant for town and shops Reception not being able to sort out minor problems i.e. television sub titles for the deaf.
It Was In The Town Centre
uncomfortable beds, dirty window coverings, early morning fire alarm,
Buffet breakfast / staff courtesy No
good location and parking slightlt ageing. could do with freshening up
Helpfullness of staff, smart facilities Price of drinks at the bar
Found the service was very good, the rooms clean and comfortable. Enjoyed that it was a 'green' hotel and conscious of resources. I was on a business trip and was greatful for the steam, pool and jacuzzi at the end of a long day. Shame that the sauna was out of use. Would prefer a cheaper single person suppliment.
The Innaction health spa was great and the staff at the spar were very helpful there were lots of little things that did not come up to standard.
Convenient location Scrambled egg at breakfast like rubber
Very relaxing. High quality furnishings, and service. Very friendly staff, even willing to make breakfast out of time. Breakfast very basic though, the UK version of continental. The decor was very modern, though very clean: I found this the least relaxing of the stay, with brash lighting
Not checking out till 1200 was a bonus.Having a selection of snacks and confectionary available at reception 24/7 was a great idea. No meats available - cold would be fine - with the breakfast buffet.
Extremely clean The prices of the drinks at bar, well wine actually. I have worked in the uk and abroad for the last 8 years in lodges,Holiday parks and 3 and 4 star hotel abroad and a glass of wine has never cost me £6.00 nor £15.99 a bottle. So was a bit disappointed and ended up having a cider!
cleanliness, comfort and price i would recommend this hotel if the staff were more friendly
it was peace and quiet
Nearness to the motorway
Shower head in bathroom, very poor.
They seem to have thought of everything Climate control in room blew directly onto bed
Good reception staff. Comfy lounge Bed and pillows not particularly comfy. Even though room had various pillows
The staff were very helpful from the first point of contact. They aloowed us to check out an hour later on departure which was very much appreciated. The room was very clean and comforatble. We were a little dissappointed with the food. We have read good reports on the website, however, our first choice was not available from the menu and my wife's alternative selection was moderate. Also, the bar area for eating was quite smokey. However, never judge a restaurant on one meal and it would not stop us re-visiting.
The room and restaurant Check in 2pm lunch finished 2.30, so we immediately had to go out,? (Pretty crazy) needed breakfast 7am were told not before 8am, we did eventually get it but thru arguing !!!!
Excellent food and great atmosphere Ask for a room on the car park side otherwise your room will be next to the road
Excellent stay (3 nights). Very good attentive service. We had dinner at the restaurant twice - the best food we have had at a restaurant in a long time. Very professional and absolutely delicious. Great wines too. We would have eaten three times but for other plans. Would thoroughly recommend. Nothing at all. Regarding reviews. We found them conflicting, some extremely picky. We had no problems. True we did find two of the staff having their breakfast at the same time as us, but one presumes they have to eat before starting work and showed good manners, so not sure what that review complaint was about.
Welcome, Restaurant, Meal, Drink. 1 x sour milk. Dirt under bed and on skirting board behind bed. 1 small kit kat to share between us both.
dinner in the restaurant surly and unfriendly staff at breakfast with a lack of attention to our requirements
Friendly and very helpfull staff. Nice room and atmosphere. Good restaurant for dinner (try the huge pizza!) and breakfast. Bed and shower are not really suitable for a tall person (> 1,85m). Relatively busy trafic on the street in front of the hotel, which you can hear with the window open.
Very nice atmosphere and very comfortable - good food and very handy location - about 15 minutes max from M25 Not exactly boutique as advertised - but very comfortable
Excellent breakfast Decor throughout hotel was good Bar staff attitude was not great - continued to sweep up although we were waiting to be served Matress on bed was very, very squeaky
The hotel room was clean and comfortable with good tea and coffee making facilities. The food was good and reasonable priced and vey well presented.
Very helpful receptionist provided some help with a fancy dress costume. Most appreciated. Breakfast staff very helpful and pleasant. Wish we''d had time to enjoy the other facilities. Arriving in the dark we didn't know where to go to check in. A longish drive, past accommodation, illuminated signage would have been helpful.
Very overpriced for the level of comfort offered
This hotel is great for business travellers who's are looking for a comfortable nights sleep. The hotel provides free wifi in both rooms and bar areas. The food is ok and the leisure facilities meet the needs. I have always paid £45 for the room which is I believe value for money.
Very friendly staff and great customer service Prevoius guests paperwork in room folder and some mould around edges of shower
lovely and clean room is really to small to add a cot could do with a bigger room if cots are to be added
Location only as I was on Business in the area. Side plate and knife but no bread or butter offered or available. King prawn starter- good flavours but warn starter served on very cold plate so food got cold quickly. Also chef too free with black pepper as a topping to garnish. Mixed grill- don't bother, really, don't bother. If your idea of quality dining is a kebab of unknown origin in the early hours of the morning then I imagine that you will be contented with the offering. Usually one reads critiques on food quality, presentation, cost, so on and so forth with an open mind however on this occasion the cold plate of miscellaneous items presented to me fell far short of what was on the menu. It was at best a mixed grill in the true sense of the word. Possibly prepared by a university student after a heavy night out. Even Paul Daniel's could not turn the strip of fatty bacon in to the gammon steak that was to accompany onion rings, which incidentally were missing from my plate.
The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The leisure facilities were good. The rooms were a little small.
Spacious, attractive and comfortable suite in beautiful surroundings. Helpful staff. Good value. Nothing
clean rooms, lovely breakfast with great views located a bit further than expected!
Room too small shower too small
