9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cleanliness. Helpful staff. Covered parking. Extra security measures.
Cons: Air conditioning in bedroom was slow to cool room as opposed to sitting room which made sleeping slightly less comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Cons: Very elegant lobby and luxurious suites. Very cozy and relaxing courtyard, very inviting for a chat or reading. Suite bathrooms are comparable to the room Ritz. Beds are plush, comfortable and room amenities very fancy and adequate. Rooms have cute little terraces each, perfect for evening gaze or morning coffee. The hotel has street parking but also underground garage which is great when weather is cold or raining. Staff very friendly and professional but you get no help with your luggage. Housekeeping deserves special mention for neatness. Many guests but not all bring their dogs; we did ours and the trip was a delight. Dogs are pampered with treats and a bed in your suite. Most pet-friendly hotel I’ve ever been. Highlands, NC is very dog friendly; many shops along Main St dont mind and many restaurants have outdoor seating. The Hotel breakfast is adequate and served in the lobby; there are no hot items. This is a perfect Inn for a mountain trip as a couple. Highly recommend staying here.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a very good location. It is a small hotel and kept very neat The rooms were nicely furnished. All of the rooms centered on a courtyard.
Cons: not sure about all of the dogs in the facility. They seemed to be well behaved and didn't create a problem. The hotel does cater to owners with dogs The breakfast was good for a continental breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect for walking around and enjoying everything that the town had to offer.
Cons: can't think of anything.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff. Maid service. Pool. Fitness room. Coffee service In the Office. Balcony.
Cons: In room coffee was very bad. Machine was difficult To understand so we used the office service. Up and down steps to access our room was not an OlD EDWARDS standard.0
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect. Walking distance to everything. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The rooms were very nicely equipped and comfortable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully appointed room, daily maid service, bed was amazingly comfortable, location was nice, staff went above and beyond!
Cons: Direct tv went out during thunderstorms!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and within short walk to downtown shopping and restaurant s. Very nice rooms that are very clean. Nice pool area and fire pit area. You will be surprised how nice these rooms are when you first open the door. We loved it!
Cons: Continental breakfast would have been nice. Howevever, coffee and fruit was provided in lobby. Nice touch!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very charming and comfortable room. Enjoyed the salt water pool. Perfect location.
Cons: Blinds on bedroom window did not really block out light from light outside the room.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the gas fireplace and balcony overlooking the grounds. Large room, large modern shower and two sinks. Very comfortable. Took a dip in the pool. Very nice. Great location.
Cons: Offer a decent breakfast. Or at least decent fruit with coffee in the lobby. Very disappointing for such a nice hotel.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful room
Cons: We were in a downstairs unit and could hear every move the person upstairs made. Reminded us of being in an apartment. Will definitely request to be upstairs next time. Would gladly have contended with the stairs over the annoying sounds of someone above us.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hotel was nice--the room was clean and comfortable, and the people working there were very polite, friendly, and helpful.
Cons: The main reason for my lower rating is simply that the price exceeded the value. Yes, it was nice, but it certainly wasn't worth $200+ a night! The marketing on the website (angles and cropping of pictures) made the hotel out to be much nicer and "more upscale" than it actually was. I simply expected more than what we got for that price. There was nothing wrong with the hotel, but I've stayed at $120/night chain hotels (Comfort Inn, etc) that were the same level of niceness.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: In room coffee maker
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Top notch service, friendly staff, comfortable well-appointed room, lovely setting.
10.0 Excellent

8.0 Excellent

Cons: Heat/air was not excellent. Stayed on the warm side.
Half-Mile Farm - Highlands - Building

9.4 Excellent (64 reviews)
Overview Reviews

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff. Pleasant to talk to about property or other places in the area. Everyone seemed passionate about helping.
Cons: Historic room above reception desk/stairs could use sound insulation around door. Beautiful view out of windows, though.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed at 200 Main, the room was Very nice, up to date and clean, fireplace was nice and easy to use, heated bathroom floor was nice. Grounds were pretty and well kept.
Cons: The door closers to the entrance to the building and room need adjusting (too hard to open), disappointed that the "dish network" went out and few times. Shower door was slightly out of level, and wouldn't stay closed (could be fixed by putting the gasket on the door rather than the fixed glass). Was surprised to find after using the partial roll of toilet paper, there wasn't an extra in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful setting, very comfortable rooms, loved the breakfast and cocktail hour! Staff was very accommodating and so pleasant!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was gourmet and social hour food excellent. Chef is excellent and so are the staff. Loved the tranquility of the Inn and the grounds were lovely. The Inn offers so many amenities to include a shuttle every evening to Main Street Highlands where an abundance of fine dining exists. Half Mile Farm is part of the Old Edward’s Inn properties and in our opinion the nicest of them all! Definitely plan to go back!
Cons: Nothing was not to like. Our room was spacious, the bed was very comfortable and we liked our patio and the beautiful Landscaping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Half mile ! Great for setting and relaxing ! Such a great staff and everything was perfect
Cons: Lake , big yard feel Rooms were perfect!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: No children allowed! What a delightful bonus. Everyone kept to themselves so there was no feeling of needing to socialize with other guests. The whole property was pleasantly quiet.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The shortest answer would be there was NOTHING we didn’t like. The venue was spectacular. The staff was the most attentive and cordial. We were welcomed and made to feel special. The food was more than we could have hoped for flavor, hot, portions...it was all fabulous. Cleanliness was beyond all expectations. Decor was gorgeous. This was our 40th anniversary and the staff made this the very best experience. They gave us a card and complimentary champagne. I have already tried to book reservations for next year. We will return. We have recommended Half Mile Farm and all of the restaurants to several people and we only returned yesterday.
Cons: Absolutely Nothing.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was terrific...we were celebrating our 40th anniversary. The rose petals on the bed when we came back from dinner were over the top. It was raining, but the grounds are beautiful. Hopefully, it will be clear day when we come back.
Cons: can't think of anything at the moment.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Scenic. Comfortable places to lounge about.
Cons: Noise from floor above. Would request room on second floor next time.

Cons: Nothing. I can't say anything bad about this place. We didn't experience any negative people. We didn't have any negative experiences with our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodations were excellent
Cons: Parking could be more spaces.
3.0 Mediocre
Pros: location
Cons: Overpriced. Old.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was quaint and comfortable. The bed wasn’t Cosy, but it worked. Towels were clean and plentiful! Mini fridge was a plus!
Cons: Well, I mentioned the bathroom size! Shower too small for an adult wash all over! No real hanging room for a dress, for instance In the closet. It was fine for two nights, but couldn’t stay longer!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Extremely friendly and helpful staff at every turn.
Cons: bed Was of marginal quality. Pillows poor. Bathroom very tight. Tub needed replacement.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff, rocking chairs outside room.
Cons: Room was very small, shower was tiny, barely room to turn around. No way one could fall in that standing room only shower! Expensive for the quality.
5.8 Okay
Pros: PEACEFULNESS
Cons: BREAKFAST COULD HAVE MORE SELECTIONS
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was exellent. Hotel employee was very nice the minute we walked in. She even gave us suggestions on the restaurants of the área. I will visit Again. The location is perfect!!
Cons: all good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very economical. Perfect location! Cabin very clean. Will come back.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: The mattress, pillows and sofa cushions should be replaced. They were completely worn out. Continental breakfast was subpar. Muffins were stale but coffee was good.
6.8 Good
Pros: Interesting place that seems to be showing its age. The staff were very nice and the rooms were spotless. At the side of the lodge was a lovely, well tended garden. Very welcoming. Lots of steps so a problem for people with mobility limitations Room was large and led to a private balcony. Temperature was cool, so we could enjoy sitting outside. Grounds were nicely landscaped and well tended.
Cons: I thought the beds seemed old and soft. I asked about them and was told that they were recently replaced because visitors complained the beds were too hard. The wooden bed frame had exposed bed rails that you hand to climb over. Kind of hard and awkward for my old body. TV was hard to work, and the AC did not seem up to the demands of the weather. The breakfast consisted of breads, muffins, and yogurt. We just grabbed a bite and had an early lunch. Room was $219, so not a deep discount and should generate income for better facilities. The lodge sets between two roads. You could hear the traffic, and the view was of the forest. Though pleasant, I wanted to see a mountain or valley.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the quiet rustic rooms and great location. Enjoyed the well maintained outdoor property. Hotel employee took care of my mistake in booking and was a pleasure to talk to on the phone. Hotel employee and her daughter were both
Cons: Not a thing

Pros: Friendly Owners & family. The Sunday morning breakfast was delicious and loved talking with owner and guests.
Cons: Add coffee condiments in the rooms.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The bed was super comfy. The room was very large and clean. We met the new owner and he explained that they are renovating the rooms. The renovation noise didn’t bother us as we weren’t in our room during the daytime. The Chandler Inn should be a great stay vacation when the renovations are completed.
Cons: The walk air conditioner needed servicing. It was very noisy and didn’t cool the room adequately. Luckily there was a ceiling fan and Highlands is cooler than most locations.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were in transition, renovating, but were very friendly and helpful and they were trying their best.
Cons: Need better lighting in the room and a less noisy air conditioner.
4.5 Okay
Pros: We were told breakfast would be between 7:30 and 9. There was NO breakfast. We went out for breakfast. There was no coffee with cream/sugar, no juice nothing!
Cons: The young man that bought the B and B is trying to renovate the Inn. So many things are not ready for guest. This should not be opened until the Inn is prepared.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wish there was a breakfast.
Cons: We did have ants in our room and the toilet was stopped up
7.5 Good
Pros: I enjoyed talking to the new owners and watching them as they worked on redoing the inn. They are really nice , hard-working people.

Main Street Inn - Highlands - Building
7
8.4 Excellent (59 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Main Street Inn in Highlands, you'll be within a 15-minute drive of Chattahoochee National Forest and Nantahala National Forest. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable beds and linens, very clean room
6.8 Good
Pros: The restaurant was wonderful and so was the staff. The food was excellent they had a guitarist playing in the afternoon which was very nice and mellow.
Cons: The walls were very thin. During the night there were yelling teenagers both nights at the stay I had to call the police at one point.you could hear everything that was going on in the room next to you and above you. I would like to point out the teenagers were outside of the Inn not in the Inn.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: It was a great place and great location
Cons: The room we booked was already booked had to take a lower grade room
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room small but charming. Bath/shower unorthodox
Cons: check in time was late? Room more spacious
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Down town was right out the front door so we were able to walk everywhere. It is an antique house with all the quirks and perks and charms of living in an old house. What might have bothered us in a big modern hotel, (sink in the room not in the bath area) seemed quite fitting at the Inn, and actually turned out to be quite convenient! Everything was bright, clean and well kept, doors and windows opened to allow in fresh air and a small deck to sit outside and relax! And there was parking behind the Inn, a definite plus! Scott the concierge was very helpful, showed us around the Inn when we arrived, even showed us to our room and offered to help with our luggage, that does not happened very often these days. At night, he left a numberto contact him if we had any problems, which we had to do when we couldn’t unlock our door. He was able to help us over the phone, which shows he knows this Inn very well. I would definitely recommend the Main Street Inn to friends and would stay here again.
Cons: The outside walk is very uneven with flagstones, I know that is again, part of the antique charm, but it would be a very difficult walk for anyone trying to go the Inn or the restaurant, who might be unsteady on their feet. Also to fix the doors so they hung straight and the locks worked would be a great plus!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quaint little inn, has the historic vibe and very staff is very polite
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The bed and linens were exceptional!!
Cons: The bathroom layout was a bit strange.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location excellent Room was small and the bathroom had two doors each with a step up. Toilet and shower on one side, tub in center and thru the other door was the sink which leaked
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff, beautiful facility within walking distance of downtown Highlands. A perfect place to stay if you want an old inn feel and want to walk to downtown. The owner spent a lot of time with us at check-in and was exceptionally helpful and courteous. Being next door to an amazing wine store that offers tastings didn't hurt, either. We would absolutely stay here again and recommend it to anyone visiting Highlands.
Cons: The room was beautiful but could have been a bit larger. The toilet seat was beyond tiny, but this is nitpicking considering how great the accommodations were.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent, outdoor dining and cocktails is wonderful. We stayed in the carriage house, bottom floor. The room was small but perfect for the two of us. The bed was way too comfortable..slept with the windows open.
Cons: Nothing.

Pros: I liked the location. I liked the deck outside our room. Beautiful natural setting. There was a large parking lot. The staff was very nice. There was Starbucks coffee for the coffee maker. There was a small refrigerator in the room. It was stocked each day with muffins, juice and fruit.
Cons: The air conditioner in our room leaked when it was on. The carpet was already wet when we moved in our room. We left it off with the screen to the deck open. The temp was 78 in the daytime and 60 at night. The room could stand some updating. The bathroom was remodeled. It had good water pressure. The other thing I didn’t like was the pool was filled with fresh water. It was green. I only saw one person in it while I was there.
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: After we arrived , nothing
Cons: No ac in our room. Had a letter in the room stating since it was at such a high elevation, ac was not needed. Front desk agent told me some of the rooms had ac but not all. The office door was open and no ac running covered in flys , that should have been our first clue. After they put a pending charge on my debit card for $116 more than I owed, gave me no receipt at the time, my husband comes into the office after seeing the pool, to tell me but it was too late. The pool looked like swamp water, dark brown and unusable. Front desk informed us that when it rained a couple of days before we arrived, it turned this color and they didn’t know why, then the manager gave us a completely different story, said this happened to all the pools around and that he had drained the pool 3 times and spent $500 in chemicals each time, so clearly not something that had only happened 2 days before. Room and hallway leading to room extremely musty and damp. This was the worse experience we have ever had at a hotel.
7.5 Good
Pros: The food is amazing. Location on top of the mountain is perfect. Great staff
6.2 Good
Pros: Nice setting and spacious room , quiet surroundings
Cons: No Table in the room, no restaurant or breakfast, no platform for suitcases, no fireplace. (I asked for a room with a fireplace)

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant was nice.
Cons: Room was dated and door security was Poor. Room smelt musty.on
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location about 5 miles from downtown Highlands. Older somewhat quaint. Facilities are good, including restaurant, pool, hot tub. Wi-Fi is spotty. Highlands is close enough to drive to for shopping, restaurant choices. The staff was very friendly and helpful, even while very busy on "eclipse day".
Cons: No A.C., but cool in the evenings and nights, even in August. Older, but well maintained. Wi-Fi doesn't reach the rooms on the lower level.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Restaurant and bar very nice, food very good, very comfortable place overall.
Cons: Wish I could have spent another few days there. My stay was too short.
7.5 Good
Pros: Great beds. Beautiful location. Nice staff.
Cons: All was ok. Refilling pool so not able to use and steam room didn’t work.

6.8 Good
Pros: Food in restaurant was excellent.
Cons: Room was very musty. Needed to be aired out and facility needed a facelift.
9.3 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location right in town with friendly staff. Highlands Inn is a perfect place to stay for a couples weekend getaway.
Cons: Nothing...my wife and I had a great weekend getaway.
4.0 Okay
Pros: Location good
Cons: Hotel old and dusty. Cobb webs in light fixtures etc. Bathroom door would not stay shut, just an old historic house that’s conveniently located in town.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location on Main Street provided easy walking access to all the stores and restaurants downtown. The hotel, restaurants and bars are very expensive but if you want a first class get away for a special occasion or treat this is a great place. The surrounding area provides scenic views, many waterfalls,, trout fishing and golf.
Cons: Our room was not the most comfortable. The bed was not what I would expect from a high dollar room plus there were no chair(s) to watch TV so it was watched from the bed. There was a small sofa next to the elevated TV but sitting in it actually faced you away from the TV. I have stayed here before in other rooms without this issue,
6.3 Good
Pros: Location was very good. Room was comfortable. Shopping was convenient.
Cons: Some of the towels were ragged. Sheets were I’ll fitting and we’ll worn. Toilet tissue was terribly cheap. Only plastic and styrofoam cups were provided in the room. For the price, better cups and glasses should have been provided and breakfast should have been included for all guests, including those using booking.com.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Nothing
Cons: The room lighting was inadequate- the bed was not comfortable - the place just need renovation!
7.5 Good
Cons: Staff constantly reminded us No Free Breakfast for online reservations! Felt like we were almost not welcome...

7.1 Good
Pros: Location is great. Can walk to everything. Staff is friendly too.
Cons: Can use some upgrades. heater didn't work so had to bundle up. Moved to another and this heater wouldn't stop had to turn it off completely.
