the location is perfect, it is very close to the Hirosaki Station, about 3 minutes by walking. The staff dont know speak English, almost all of them were friendly and helpful. They gave me a juice and an apple pie due to the sakura festival in town, which was a good surprise! The room is a good size.
The Hotel is very old, and have a lot of problems even before you enter in the lobby. The signalization name of the hotel in the top of the building is dirty and falling down. When you look at the building it seems that a fire has occurred and they are clearing the place yet. The furniture is quite old, with spare parts and very hot. I did not have access to an air conditioning control, for example. The bathroom was smelling of pee, and had a leak when it used the flush. There was only one plug available in the room, and in it all the appliances were connected (fridge, TV, lamp). Breakfast has a very tight schedule, from 6:30 am to 9:00 am, and your admission is only accepted until 8:45 am. Also, the employee who was at breakfast warns you that you have to leave at 9:00 a.m. Still in the salon of the breakfast, there is a space covered by cloths, which I believe to be some leak. I used the lobby bathroom and half of the sinks are not working and only one bathrooms of two works. Honestly, I felt at the Hotel Impossible, and I was worried about the safety of the place. Despite the sympathy of the staff, I believe that the hotel needs urgent renovations, because there are leaks everywhere and this can compromise the structures. If it was not crowded in the city with a good location, I would have chosen somewhere else. and I found it expensive by the state of the hotel. I stayed in hostels much more comfortable, clean, safe and with great location, for much less.
Quite close to the station and 30min walking to the castle and neputa place. There is a drugstore and a konbini close by. A lot of amenities available !
The bed was fine and over all it was okay.
The bathroom smelled bad and the toilet flush leaked. A part of the window sealing was missing, so it was a little cold.
The price. Got my room extra cheap also the hotel is close to the station and therefore to the Hirosaki loop bus
The staff was not welcoming at all. I do not mean that they did not speak english but i did not even deserve that they smile back at me - quite strange in Japan... anyway the place was cheap and did the job.
There was a cockroach in the room.
