very good location The hotel is old and rebuilding some parts of the hotel. but nobody told us when we were booking. feel a bit disappointed. but the location is perfect.
Tried tol fob us off with a room with no window when we had booked a junior suite with balcony. We insisted on room we had booked and were told we were being given an upgrade. This was a lie as the room we were given was identical to our friends room who had also booked a junior suite. Found renovation a problem as there was a constant small of paint thinners on the passageway to our room which did not help husband who has a lung problem Being in the centre of Saigon
Great location, spacious room, great breakfast, roof top pool, helpful staff. Brought my husband a birthday cake for breakfast and later in day....made it special. Happy hour 2- for-1 was unclear to execute.
Their hospitality is amazing. I was way early to check in, but I got a room. Every staff asked me if the Rome is ok and if I need anything. Welcome fruits. My room didn't have a view at all.

My fiancée and I stayed at the Rex Hotel (2 weeks ago) and absolutely loved it. Not only was it walking distance to some of Vietnam's monumental sites, the rooms were clean and housed a full friendly staff.... My favorite part of the hotel is having breakfast on the rooftop with an endless assorted buffet style breakfast. From Western, European and Pho service, they had it and was delicious. I highly recommend this hotel!!
Great spot for city access and historical significance.
Perfectly located hotel for exploring the city. All the staff - including the maids - was very helpful, friendly and attentive. Clean rooms with bamboo hardwood floors (mine had not a view, faced inner courtyard and was very quiet). Opulent breakfast buffet (western an asian style). Nice and clean roof-top pools and gym. For gamblers there is a small in-house casino. It is not the newest hotel but one with charme. Only glitch was that the air conditioning positioned near the ceiling could not be switched off with the remote control provided, so I switched it off manually).
We stayed on the fourth floor. We were woken up frpm the noise from the restaurant on the fifth floor during the early hours of the morning. The refurbishmnet work also meant overall we suffered from a very noisy stay.
The location, the room is very comfortable, friendly and attentive staff. The interior is rather old looking and doesn't reflect 5-start hotel.
Got a free upgrade to a suite. Was a wonderful suite, super clean. beautiful bamboo hardwood floors all over that got polished every day. staff was super friendly and helpful food and drinks at hotel are over priced.
They were kind and friendly and tried their best to fulfill my requests. I have seen other hotels during my stay in Ho Chi Minh, and I was glad that I chose to stay here. Perhaps compared to the other hotels, the hotel was located in a slightly far side of the main streets. However, this was not a big problem since things were easily accessible by foot or taxi.
I liked the lobby, pool and gym. The guest room was old and outdated. Carpeting was frayed, bathroom fixtures old, hallways smelled very bad due to overuse of air freshener. I wouldn't stay there again unless guest rooms were completely remodeled.

Eventually we appreciate the staff in remedying an major issue. We booked the hotel for 12/31/2015, in order to celebrate the day and New Year Eve night in a 5 star hotel. When we arrived at the hotel and were informed the pool, which was a major key in our booking this hotel, would be closed to guests due to a New Years Eve party being setup at the pool for that evening. We explained that we booked this hotel in order to enjoy the day pool side and diner that evening. In tradition of the Asian culture, we were told repeatedly that the reason was for the setup for the NYE party that night. As if this explanation would 1) resolve our issue and 2) be an acceptable reason as to not be concerned that we were land locked to our room and not out at the pool. We conveyed that we had contacted the hotel directly, prior to booking to 1) confirm that their was no compensatory costs due to the holiday booking and 2) that we would not have anything excluded that would normally be available to guests at the hotel. Such as any construction, pool and spa access. We were told no issues or restrictions. So we booked. After much heated discussion, at check-in, a manager availed and provided a remedy of allowing us to transport, for pool time, to a lesser quality and star level property at their expense of a taxi. In addition, provided us access to a higher level room and lounge service. However, no offer of access to the New Years Eve party at the pool, unless we paid the $50 fee. We appreciate the effort they made but they went kicking and screaming in providing a remedy. Unless we pushed our unhappiness and not settling on how we should be happy to be lied to about the pool access, before booking, we would have not received the appropriate attention a hotel guest should receive from a 5 star hotel. On another note: The guests, and condoned by the floor management, allowed other guests in the adjacent room, to go in and out, back and forth among the multiple rooms with no respect to the amount of noise they made with doors slamming against the dead bolt constantly for 5 plus hours non-stop. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. They immediately found an opportunity to upgrade us on check in. Although breakfast was a nice feature each day along with some drinks / snacks in the evening, we didn't get our 50usd value out of this. Additionally, we were so looking forward to using the pool, and the First day we got a chance was Friday. Little did we know that the hotel finds more value in charging admission for the locals to come and party by the pool on Fridays than ensuring their paid guests have a pool to use. We could barely walk around the pool let alone find a place to sit and relax. Absolutely a disappointment to to say the least. Would not stay here again.
Hotel is okay...not a quality hotel; rank 2 to 3 star Poor mattress in room: thin and uncomfortable Rooms not adjoining; tried to change mattress type Disappointed with the travel service Get a Room. Service was dishonest/deceptive and tried to capitalize on my need to change travel dates. Understood rooms were non refundable but found Get A Room made the dates non changeable. Tried to get me to pay for alternate dates and then decide the cancellation policy. Kept travel dates to avoid getting taken advantage. Will not use this service in the future.

This hotel is beautiful! the breakfast buffet and room service was great! The pool party Saigon soul was supper fun great music (not for kids). overall cleanliness was up to par. Really happy with the prices I will cook here next time I visit.

The Hotel Location is very good, very close to shopping malls, easy access to the rest of the city. highly recommended for Business Trip. Hotel staff don't speak good English (very poor pronunciation).. difficult to communicate.

I think it is arguably the best located hotel in HMC. The rooms were large, clean and well serviced and had the biggest bed that I have seen. Nothing worth mentioning but if I want to nitpick then the restaurants are not up there with the best.
This hotel is nice enough and has a fantastic location. We had just stayed in Singapore earlier in the week and thought there was no comparison. If you really want to spoil yourself- try the Park Hyatt right across the street. Everything was good- just not amazing. I might also try New World Hotel or the new Intercontinental. The location for both New World and Intercontinental aren't as good but the Intercontinental is brand new and may have higher standards. I believe the New World is foreign owned and managed. No glass showers, difficult to use key in elevator, room smelled a bit. While they tried, I didn't feel like it was really 5* service.

The most enjoyable part of my stay was after checked out and left the building. I am afraid to inform you my stay was quite unsettling, mainly due to the reception and staff being quite unfriendly.

The location is perfect and I liked the colonial style of the hotel (built in 1880). Some facilities could be renewed (e.g. the showers are rather poor). We had to change room twice. The first room (twin beds only) was on the 1st floor and by far too noisy with a window facing the hotel bar. The 2nd room was on the 2nd floor and great with a blacony to the courtyard. However, the shower broke at 3am and we had to change to another room which was not as good as the 2nd one.

The main advantage of this hotel is that it is centrally located. And for those who like staying in a hotel full of "history", this is the place, but do not expect service up to international standards. Staff is not really welcoming and behave like civil servants. Rather poor breakfast for this category of hotel.

The hotel is in a very good position and looks very clean and attractive externally. The bathrooms need updating. Our bathroom was very old and smelled musty.

A spacious, character-filled, historic hotel in the perfect location to explore central Saigon. Every hotel we visited in Vietnam shared the same trait - a harder-than-average mattress.
Very good positioned to explore the City walking. Very big room but quite noisy at night (old windows), bathroom somewhat oldfashioned. Breakfast itself was good in a nice location (patio) which was, hoewver, very noisy due to all the aircon machines.
Helpfulness of the concierge. Convenient location to interesting sights. Outstanding breakfast. Live music in the lobby. Quiet. Nothing.
Location Overall, I have been staying in hotels on business and leisure trips for over 20 years, I have never ever felt so unwelcome as this stay in Sheraton made me feel. To top it all, the manner was unapologetic, rude and ruthless. Some examples below: 1. Staff failed to look me up for the SPG membership, in spite of me being the member. 2. Why did you book for 2 people, who is the second person, tell me the name of your girlfriend, a Vietnamese girl can't be your guest. They kept interrogation about the identity of my girlfriend even when I explained that I am not sure if my girlfriend may want to stay while checking in. They kept insisting that I share the personal information about the girlfriend, breach of PII law in western countries. My lady Vietnamese guests were extremely uncomfortable in coming anywhere near the hotel due to the notoriety in treating them badly by the hotel management staff. 3. Guest Relation Manager and Hotel Director took no action, courtesy upgrade or any other offer when the abuse, discomfort and experience related issues were brought to the attention of the staff in-spite of clearly indicating no intention to break local laws. Was made to feel like a criminal. Even when reminded that I was there customer and am having a bad experience, they asked me to feel free to report whatever I feel in the review and they will not amend or change any of the experience. When asked if I can cancel the booking, they said yes for the full fee, so practically I had no choice but to suffer the stay. 4. Internet is around $17 USD per day if it isn't part of the room rate. If you happened to overlook the internet part, hotel wants you to come down to the sitting area with limited seats to use free wifi. In the day and age of personal devise usage, really sorry to see the over the top internet charges. 5. Very limited western choices for breakfast, breakfast choices not worth the cost. They have a special sitting area for single guests, staff insists that single guests are confined to the designated single guests section. 6. They have a standard procedure for single guests, after 8 pm, they have an escort lady to drop you to the elevator so you can have no guest with you when you go to bed :)
Fantastic location near Ben Than market and easy walking distance to Reunification Palace and War museum. Shopping malls close by. Staff very attentive and look after you very well. Hotel contemporary, in good condition and excellent value for a city break. Buffet breakfast very good and changed daily. Cannot recommend this hotel enough and would certainly use it again. Swimming pool is an oasis after the frenetic pace of the city.
Everything was very new and clean. The bed was comfortable sheets and towels all good.
Location - in the "center" of District 1 but on the less commercial side. Price - very reasonable compared to other 4- or 5-star hotels nearby. Comfort - all facilities are brand new and rooms are stylishly decorated. Amenity - free breakfast/internet/airport pickup/laundry (3- piece/daily) Some parts of the hotel are still under construction so there is some noise in early morning/later at night.
Central location is a big plus. Nice rcooms- large and comfortable. Friendly and efficient staff. Nothing we do no like. Everything perfect.
Staff were very helpful when we were dealing with flight problems and they also collected some shopping for me. The pool wasn't available and we booked the hotel as it lookied like they had a very nice pool. Also, we couldn't change our booking without losing all of our money.
The location close to markets. The Hotel was not ready for guests. Jackhammer and constant banging from 7.30 am to 9.00pm. It is a work site and should not have been advertised as ready for business.

It was well located within the city, just next to a 24 hour mart. The facilities were decent, and the bed was comfortable. The bathroom didn't have enough towels, and the water from the shower kept getting all over the floor, despite our best efforts. The staff was strange at times, at one point asking me 3x to look at my keycard even though I'd shown it to them already. I didn't understand what they were doing. Also, there was no breakfast included.
Very easy to get around HCMC and are right in the middle of all of the sites. We had such a comfortable stay. The staff were very willing to accommodate changes. In fact, we were able to check-out at 7pm as our flight was 9.30pm. The spa was great, had a massage each day. Nothing we enjoyed our stay.
Very noisy! Our room was upgraded to superior room but was right opposite to the store room. Those house keepers waken us up at 6:00 every morning! Fortunately we stayed for two nights only!
Location. Right on new mall and overlooks the Meekong River. Staff tried so hard to assist us and the breakfast was supreme. Our room was very good value. The construction of the subway mall outside the Duxton is now minimal and almost fully completed. The staff bent over backwards to help.

Location. My boss had reserved my stay in this hotel and guaranteed with his credit card. However, you staff had asked me for my credit card and I gave her but the credit card doesn't work and she requested me to give cash when I don't have usd cash with me. Therefore, I told her that please put the guarantee under my boss credit card but when it come to check out I will pay it myself. She just doesn't understand me as upon my return to my hotel room there was a message that I have to go to the counter to verify that I will pay the check out myself. Unbelievable isn't it? The very next day when I checked out my credit card works just fine!

Great location, only 20 minutes from airport. Helpful staff and quiet, spacious, rooms. Internet service quite good, compared to may other hotels. Good business hotel.

The location was great. The room was confortable and suited our needs. We had no hot water at all during our stay. When reported, we were told we neededto run the water for 30 minutes each time and it would get warm. Well, it never did!
The staff and manager was always willing to be helpful with any queries. They were always polite, courteous and respectful even the door men who spoke hardly any english. a very enjoyable, comfortable and pleasant hotel. I definitely would recommend Golden Central to my friends who will possibly visit your wonderful city. The staff are an absolute asset to the hotel. Thank you for such a wonderful stay and experience. Apart from our 1st night in a room that had rather a bad odour I truly have no complaints. I would like to add that when approaching the reception with our complaint everything was done to correct the problem and was done in a very professional manner. Therefore it ended up as a minor issue that was very quickly rectified, Thank you.
I like the roof top restaurant morning breakfast and the pool with a few of the city 180 l. I like lobby also. The staff are helpful and friendly. The price is awesome compared to other hotels .The location is really great! I do also like the shower in bathroom. I was very satisfied with my stay, but if I had to pick something I didn't care for. It would be the exercise equipment outside next to the pool. It just not enough space to work out. Since the location is closed to Reunification building, I ran around sidewalks around it. Its a good run!
Room was functional and bed was comfortable. However bathroom cleanliness could have been better. The gym was out of action at the time, roof top small pool looked o.k. Breakfast was basic. Clealiness of bathroom.
