Leuven is an expensive town compared to other towns.
Very friendly staff and pleasant breakfast room that bar during the day and evening. Useful area for smokers. Convenient position near the centre of the city Rooms in reasonably but not perfect condition. Felt as if could do with some new paint. Bathroom door was a folding door that made a lot of noise in the middle of the night. Sound insulation poor but not a major problem
The loctaion near the square THe bad smell of smoking throughout the hotels including the non- smoking room.Taxi that was arranged by the hotel did not arrive and the morning staff had no idea which taxi company was meant to to be do the collection. I was 45 min late fore my business appointment
rooms are old and shaby, need urgent renovation
The hospitality of the staff Smell of smoking in breakfast area
Fairly basic room facilities
Good location, friendly staff, nice Belgian cafe.
Location was right in the middle of town. Very dated! The bar was in better nick than the bedrooms.
Kind to offer early access to room and very helpful, cheerful staff. Comfortable bed. Very noisy room above bar and on street front, so if this annoys you then ask for back rooms.
The location is excellent, the lady at the reception was friendly and the wifi connection was cheaper than elsewhere. We were travelling with a 2 month old baby, and that was no problem. We could use the microwave to warm up the bottles if necessary, and I saw people using the fridge in the kitchen. There was no mini-bar in the rooms, the furniture was very "rudimental", the bath tub was looking old (but clean), the elevator was very tiny (the buggy barely fitted), the bar at the reception was a very smoky place, and the breakfast was served there also. The breakfast was ok, but the bread and croissant quality was quite poor.
Very good position, hotel staff very helpful, good breakfast A disturbing smell from bathroom during the night. The rooms are not very well acoustic insulated, so you might hear what's happen with your neighbours.
Comfortable room, friendly staff, central location. Excellent all-round
The staff was exceptionally helpful and very friendly. They provided helpful and accurate information on the local transportation schedules and always came to the desk to greet us when we came in. The breakfast (included) was quite good, with many selections to choose from, and presided over by a lovely and friendly manager.
Unusual split level was attractive. Would be nice if the third bed was on the lower level and the sofa upstairs to relax with TV. Everything was excellent
Nice ambience, nice people at reception, the artie breakfastroom Reception looks kind of cheap at first glance Cleaning starts early and noisy (our room was next to 'Dienst'
Thye staff were very helpful and friendly in this conveniently situated hotel Noise in the street by late- night party-goers
I found the staff to be very helpful. Breakfast was outstanding!
Very attractive dining room, excellent location
The clean and spacy rooms, and the very polite staff
The perfect location neear the centre of Leuven
We had a brilliant weekend rate. The hotel is a business hotel and our twin room was perfect for our needs. The breakfast was full self-service and plenty full. Leuven is a lovely place and the hotel is very well situated in town. We had a room out to the back which was blissfully quiet. The receptionist on duty was not very welcoming - she seemed to class us by the rate we were paying and the rucksacks on our backs. Or she was just not enjoying her job.
The rooms and location The staff who was working on sunday was very unfriendly
The hotel was extremely central. THe breakfast was very good. Rooms spacious and clean. All required facilities present. The hotel staff were extremely helpful
Location close to City is excelent. More pillows should be provided in rooms for the beds.
Good value for money, 61 Euros for twin room with nice breakfast buffet. Parking garage below hotel. Excellent location in city centre. Twin rooms were comfortable, but slightly too small as there were two queen size beds.
More noise from the corridor than usual
Location Breakfast is too expensive (18 € !)
The hotel is very central, all amenities are close by, the staff are very friendly and helpful
Quiet large room very close to centre
The location across from the rail station was very convenient; the breakfast was ample and tasty; the hotel restaurant and bar was attractive & comfortable.
The staff was extremely helpful and the location is excellent. We had to use a fan as there was no cross venilation in our room.
Location was very convenient, very close to the train station. Breakfast was nice. The room was dark and not nice to stay in. But OK if you just need a place to sleep.
The hotel is close to the railway station, and includes free wifi. Reception staff were helpful. The room was adequate but certainly needed redecorating. One light in the room didn't work and one socket was blackened and looked like there had been a small explosion - I steered clear of using it! The shower tray nearly overflowed it took so long to drain. It was quite hot in the room on the third floor, but when I opened the windows to let in air there was a lot of traffic noise both late at night and early in the morning. Breakfast was adequate but nothing exceptional and only one member of staff occasionally appeared to refill orange juice and milk.
The location, near to the station which was convenient for the purpose of our stay. The breakfast was okay Yes, the staff was not helpful. They hardly spoke. The room had no airco and was pretty hot. The hotel is a little outdated (some areas are classicly nice though). The bar/restaurant personell was not providing service. Long wait times.
Breakfast of a high standard. Staff efficient. Cafe closed on Sunday
Cleanliness Price. The 95 euros for double room is quiet expensive.
conveniently located opposite the station the shower was connected to the bath tap but there was no shower curtain or wall fitting so it had to be hand held. Not goot.
The main room was nice, if basic; staff were helpful when I reported problems. The location was very convenient, close to the station and the bus station and only a short walk to the city centre. There were no towels in my room, I had to go down and ask for them and it was some time before they appeared. The light in the corridor wasn't working, so I had to grope my way to find my room in the dark. There was a split in the bathroom floor, so it bounced while I was standing to clean my teeth. The reception seemed very short staffed, so every time I went down to ask a question I had to wait a long time, either because of a queue in front of me or because the only person there was on the phone. There was a lot of noise from the terrace below, there seemed to be parties in at least two cafes and the music was very loud until almost midnight, making it hard to sleep for business travellers.
Location, price Poor shower (leaked), noise from outside
Access to internet, hotel staff quite helpful. To expencive in relation to the quality. Far to the center, what could be challenging on weekend because of the bus-timetable
I liked the amzing shower and modern design of the B&B. The breakfasts were good and the staff was hospitable.
We found very kind the B&B staff and the place is amazing.
Nice house with brandnew renewed rooms and a super hightech shower. Friendly people, good situated to reach downtown. We loved it.
clean and modern room no reception on arrival at 19h !
As we arrived from the Uk by car, it was very close to the Motorway and there is a bus into the towncentre a few yards from the B&B. The management were very friendly and helpful and we felt like staying in somebodys house. The place was spotless and comfortable. Parking facilities need to be bettered, but that is already promised.
Small, cosy, quiet hotel with friendly and helpful staff. Nice clean room and facilities.
Nice, kind and helpful staff, everything is very clean and tidy. Bus stop is just in front of the BB. no other accomodations close to KUL Heverlee campus & imec (3 min.walk)
Excellent renovation of suburban house to a very high design standard. Good rapport ' qualite/prix' for a B &B. Current parking limited ( some enlargement apparently planned)
Newly renovated, well designed small B&B with very friendly and helpful staff no complaints
Friendly & helpful staff. Several items in the room were missing or broken. Requested they be fixed but not taken care of because it was the weekend.
The bed was good and the staff was very helpful. I liked the breakfasts.
We loved your staff and your services. Your staff were friendly, knowledgable, and willing to help us get around the city. Your hosted breakfast was wonderful as well, and it added to the value of our room. We will recomend Hotel New Damshire to all of our friends when they visit Leuven. The only problems we had were the intense smell of smoke in our non-smoking room and the sound of construction in the morning. We realize that there is not much you can do about the latter, and we were very satisfied with our stay.
Wired internet is comfortable, and small refrigerator is available, bus stop is nearby, and staff is helpful. A blanket was not so good, and people in 4th floor must use stair.
Very friendly receptionist helping at the desk after late arrival. Room was poor of furniture and athmosphere/ old sixties.
Value for money, pleassant staff
Helpful staff who are friendly and very honest.
Excellent breakfast - friendly & helpful staff. Excellent location for town centre. Room heating controls confusing and without explanation.
The location of the hotel meant that the centre of Leuven was within 10 minutes. Parking of the hire car was easy, as I could park almost in front of the main hotel entrance in a metered parking space (free overnight as long as the car is moved by 9am) The light switches in the room were strangely configured so that I could not turn off the bedside lights without going to the main switch by the door.
the hotel staff, the fact that is very near to Oude Markt and Begijnhof The street is a bit noisy
location, helpful staff, comfortable room although pleased that wireless internet was available and reliable, it was quite expensive
breakfast buffet no pool
The best for me was the price! My son who is 13 enjoyed the breakfast. The rooms are very clean and it is very quiet to sleep at night.
A clean, modern hotel. Very friendly staff that spoke English.
the staff were so helpful and nice and the food was great in particular the breakfast.
It is nice. It is not so new.
Cleanliness of hotel Getting to it from station, a bit of a trek with luggage and entrance not on main road but behind. But ok once u know where it is
NIce that they have their own restaurant, so I can work late but don't have to look for food. No.
warmth and friendleyness of everthink breakfast was cold water in pots for tea warm coffie cold plates that were used for hot food were very cold taking heat from the food
Location Parking facilities
Good breakfast, friendly service My room was not non-smoking and had a slight musty smoke aroma.
Although the accomadation was above a cocktail bar, there was not too much disturbance from noise as it was a bustling, busy establishment with plenty of character. It was very pleasant to go downstairs to enjoy a drink before retiring
Right in the middle of town. Basic but clean with pleasant staff and the breakfast is sufficient to curb hunger pangs. Rooms are above a cocktail bar, which was not a problem. But be warned this is a university town and we got caught in" freshers" week so the external noise was obtrusive. But if you want a nightlife location this hotel is well situated.
central position, large room with TV, large bathroom with enough facilities, large windows that openet into two different streets. Good breakfast in any amount. There is a pub in the first level of the building, which is dusty in the evenings and sometimes noisy. Breakfast was served only from 7.30. Fustiness in the room.
The location is very central and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. There are no no-smoking rooms.
Its location, price & cleanliness The building is quite old so the rooms were not as sound proof as in other hotels. This however was very understandable & was not too disrupting
This hotel is located just accross the street of the Railway station in Leuven. The value for money is good and the staff/owners are very friendly. Recommended!
Electric volatage transducers from 220 to 110 V should be equipped all hotles in Booking.com.
Very convenient. Clean modern room and bathroom with a view over the square. Good housekeeping of room each day. Breakfast good. Room would have benefitted from addition of bedside tables, individual bedside lamps, comfy chair(s), tea/coffee facilities. Tricky to find until you realise that it is in the popular De Klimop restaurant in SW corner of the square.
The courtesie of the staff
good location and good rate smell in the room
The location of the hotel was great - literally across the road from the train station and the breakfast was very good. I arrived at around 9 p.m. and the entrance of the hotel was not lit up so you have to walk right up to it to find it.
The staff is pleasant, the room is clean, and the location is good.
Location Wireless internet is available but not free (as in hotel info), in fact rather expensive.
The room was very spacious and comfortable, and the bathroom was clean and fresh. The best thing about my stay was the breakfast, it was delicious.
A perfect place for a romantic trip. Very polite staff. Special thanks to Duan. You can take bicycles free of charge for riding on the wonderful places that surround the B&B Barons House.
Very special private location. 5 star level of personalised service. Feeling of exclusivity and privacy. Very stylish, designer rooms. Exceptionally comfortable beds. The location is off the beaten track so you have to go out to eat. An onsite facility for evening food (not necessarily full meals). Maybe a fridge in the kitchen with sandwhiches or chilled ready meals with a microwave, that could be used like a communal mini-bar would be useful for the weary travellers who don't want to drive out to eat on arrival.
When we arrived, the hotel receptionist directly offered us a cup of coffee in our room for free. This is exceptional service I think that is not required, but highly appreciated and a good start of an excellent stay. Furthermore, you can park you car behind a closed gate (for which you will get the remote to open it).
Very quiet and peaceful. Staff were very helpful and a really nice location
It's a beautiful renovation of an old farm. The staff is extremely friendly and they go out of their way to make it a comfortable stay. The breakfast is excellent and the rooms are quite spacious. Highly recommended if you want a comfortable place in the countryside, away from the city
Breakfast was excellent, staff attentive, homely atmosphere. Would like to have had tea and coffee making facilities in room.
Wonderful services, location, facilities and staff. No. I have stayed there several times and it is always a pleasure to go back.
Nice architecture, historical, convenient to city center.Good breakfast.
Nice furnishings and friendly people.
The lovely grounds, freindly staff and the bathrobes
we found the staff courteous ,friendly and helpful. It was an excellent example of a small friendly and very comfortable hotel. One lack is the absence of a comfort tray ie tea/coffee tray in the room.
Nice overall impression. Considerig that the hotel was build in an old Monestary, the rooms very not very well isolated, causing big differnece in temperateure in diffierent parts of the room.
Room 106 comfortable though smaller than room we had on last visit. Bathroom possibly in need of upgrading. Bath tap a bit difficult to control and water emptying from bath very slow. Staff very friendly and helpful. See comment on bathroom.
Hotel staff, garden Access to the parking
atmosphere noises (room 1)
The big bathroom with the jacuzzi was great! We did not sleep in the hotel, but in the seperate building a few streets further. On sundaymorning there was a market - we did not hear any noise at all, windows are well isolated. And it was such a lovely market with yummy belgian pastries!
A good small hotel, well located and with a superb restaurant next door- The Voltaire No
the restaurant was superb, and good value. the rooms were stylish and spacious. wifi worked well and was included in price. would go back. the rooms were poorly equipped, no hairdryer, iron, sewing kit etc
Room - nice modern decor Room location (next to restaurant and public restroom) Wooden blinds do not completely cover doors and block light 'Cooked' breakfast was not - just cheese and cold meat
Room was very comfortable Breakfast was very good When entering the hotel, there is a little fish odor.
No wireless internet available in the room, while stated access avialable, not very pleasent if travelling for business
Hotel was excellent reasonably priced beautiful rooms friendly staff ,good location No facility to get tea or coffee in the hotel ?
Modern and stylish room. The pillows were much too small!
The flat is small (maybe 30 sq.m) but well organized and well appointed, with separate bathroom, sleeping corner, kitchenette, fridge, micro, hairdryer, TV and hifi. Linen, towels, kitchen utensils are provided. Very quiet place, not really central but only 15 min. walk from center. If you arrive outside working hours, you call the number on the office door and the caretaker arrives in 10 min., no problem. there is no othe heating than an 1500W electric heater but that was more than sufficient for me with outside temp. around freezing point. The advertised internet connection (wifi) just did not work with my laptop (even though it works elsewhere). Plumbing is kind of weird. The shower is a very peculiar structure (you'll undertand what I mean when you see it). And the drainage pipes of the flat upstairs run right on your ceiling, behind a gridlike suspenden ceiling. I guess this makes repair of occasional drainages easier but it's not nice to be wakened by the noise of somebody's toilet flushing abopve your head...
The silence in de flat. The comfort. No phone in the flat. I like to have a telephone in my room
If you want to have a jail experience go ahead! Fliegen und Feuchtigkeit im dunklem Badezimmer! Never again guys
Nothing, ,just it cheaper than other hotels and has kitchen, that is why I took it The flats is in very poor condtion
It is practical. It was not clear how to enter after office hours. It was really hot and no ventilation
Very nice big rooms, friendly staff, no extra hidden costs It was a bit outside the city center
The room was big and it had a nice balcony. Beds were not so comfortable... but it general, it was alright for the price we paid....
Convinient location. Friendly staff. Except for the presence of the kitchenette the room is comparable to a hotel room in terms of price and accomodations. Bathroom shower ran out of hot water very quickly. Bathroom lighting was poor.
quietness very low value for money
Close to centre of town, it has a kitchen. No complaints for the price.
Staff were very helpful, the roon was beautifully set out, the facilities were very good and the breakfast was excellent. Evrything was high quality for a reasonable price.
Charming hotel with a great backyard & nice decorated room.
Very individual design and helpful staff.
Beautiful decor and good food. Jan and Christian are excellent hosts.
The welcome was wonderful, the room so comfortable, the breakfast was truly great and everything was efficient yet freindly. I would stay there again. Anytime. Nothing to dislike!
Location Room decor, very dark.
None Unfriendliness of personel and staff
The apartment at St. Maartenstraat 12 was nice, spacious and in a quiet location. In the beginning the staff (young male) was not very friendly but another staff (lady in the next office) was very helpful and tried very hard to find a suitable apartment for us. We booked One Bedroom Duplex Flat at Dekenstraat 87 but what we were offered when we arrived was totally unaceptable. The flat was very small, with a bedroom on mezzanin (upstairs) and a tiny dark bathroom. Eventually we paid extra and moved to a nice business apartment at St. Maartenstraat 12. This took a lot of time and negotiations.
The friendliness of the flat No
The staff was very flexible with check-in times and the kitchenette was well equipped. The bed could only be reached via a narrow stair which was situated in a tiny corner of the room.
location, price no internet connection in room, despite promise
Description on web accurate: A student flat with a kitchen, bathroom, etc. We stayed in the dual level flat with the bed upstairs. Kitchen had enough to cook for yourself. Bathroom was stocked with towels. Little items not cleaned up on arrival, had not been vacuumed in a long time (all floors dirty but tolerable).
It is a safe area. But in general Leuven is a safe city. It is OK to stay for a short period of time. Location is not very convenient, though it is a safe area. The room is clean, but the bed is really uncomfortable.
Its position in Leuven, and the no-fuss freedom it allowed
It was very comfortable. The restaurant was very good, but it was not easy to access, there was no direct route from the hotel.
The staff was amazing, and the rooms were huge and comfortable. From my window I could see the field of Saint-Truiden FC.
helpful and pleasant staff no business center or free wifi
The attached restaurant was absolutely horrible. Food was inedible, old - nothing on the "buffet" and not worth even 1 euro but had to pay 15 euros. Staff was incredibly rude and not helpful at all. Don't waste your time or money.
Excellent hotel with very nice people. Great bed :-)
Helpful and friendly staff. Efficient reception and rooms clean and well maintained
Feeling at home ( 5th year we stayed at the IBIS ). Staff very friendly and helpful ( especially Joost ).
Nice clean bathroom. small room and needs insulation (one can hear everything going on in other rooms and in the corridor) - otherwise good. Please note that the "Fair" comments above are not complaints, as I did not expect the Ibis to be a 5 star hotel.
very close and conveniently to the centre; all you need when staying for a short in the big city
Location Expensive, pokey car park with very tight access
very nice and welcomig staff. small rooms, but yet very well furnished there,s was an akward smell that sometimes came out of the toilet?
Friendly staff. Very nice room.
cleanliness of hotel and central location noise transmitted from other rooms
Staff was very friendly Restaurant was a bit too small. Some days there was not a table available for having breakfast...
small room, bit congested. No fridge in the room. Breakfast should have been complimentary. Friendly, helpful staff. Budget accommodation for a single person.
The breakfast was great. If that's a four star hotel they must be very small stars. The room was expensive and looked like it hadn't changed since the early 80s. The bathroom was older and not clean.
The gardens were nice and itwas very quiet and peaceful.Breakfast room had a wonderful "old world " feeling. Very close to Begginshof for walking and exploring on foot. for a 4 star hotel the room was a little small but not a problem!
Very cosy and stylish at the same time. I love historical settings Could widen dinner menue
Please write at least 15 words
nice outside vieuw in breakfast room additional pay for sauna while i was in suite room, sometimes a litlle years 80 dated.
friendly staff no swimming pool, paid sauna
The quiet and well maintained grounds No, by far the best hotel we have stayed in in Belgium
The staff were friendly and helpful. Also, most spoke very good English.
My stay was excellent. The hotel was clean, the food excellent, and the staff eager to serve.
The very helpful reception staff who would do anything that you needed in a timely and professional manner. The breakfast was excellent. The room was slightly smaller than I expected, and not as clean as it should have been. Also, the rooms could do with some upgrading, e.g. mobile phones would interfere with the clock radio.
