The bed was comfy and everything appears to be clean. The 3-in-1 shampoo, conditioner, body wash smelled nice
pool was open only until 8 p.m. even though staff told us 9 p.m.--which is still too early, especially since there was no lifeguard ever on duty. hot tub was a warm tub and no lights. had to light the stove manually in and out wifi $10/day "resort fees" that cover the cost of your pool towels and wifi $18/day parking confusing check-in procedure no ice machine no free continental breakfast (may have got one, but front desk never gave us our "tickets") Seperate number for Cruise Port front desk that's not listed with phone, nor is the wifi password or anything. cracks in foundation microwave missing a leg terrible water pressure not many/hard to access outlets
Don't believe in the pictures This place looks abandoned Old, Rusty, smells bad and noisy
It was the worst experience
The hotel is very old, built in 1926. It has some charm considering this. Our 1-bedroom suite had 2 floors, a kitchenette and 2 bathrooms. It was in need of attention, but it was unique. The pool was nice.
However, we had problems from the moment we arrived. Four separate companies cannot figure out mgmt. We were shifted from the main front desk to another area where we had to check in. It took 20 minutes for them to tell us this, then, we waited again only to find out check in wasn't until 4pm. There were 2 separate access cards, activated at 2 different desks. Neither worked consistently. At one point, my husband went back and forth FOUR times to get the card for the room to work. The valet is only $2 more/day, but must be paid separately from the room, and cash only. We overheard the concierge tell a guest they didn't have an ATM, but my husband turned around and pointed it to it directly in view, only about 10 feet away. One TV didn't work, we reported it, it was never fixed. The phone had a Marriott logo and none of the buttons for front desk, housekeeping, concierge, etc worked. Just finding the place was difficult, there are no signs. We asked for a bellhop and a cart for our baggage. We were told to see Security (?) who responded that he only had one cart and one of the wheels was flat. So, he went to the desk (2nd desk) where we finally checked in and asked for one of theirs. We waited at the front door for another 20 mins where the security officer returned only to go back and ask again. Oh, and when we arrived, there was a fire truck out front. There was a carbon monoxide leak in the building. Apparently, it happened again on Monday. I heard a child crying in a stairwell and had goosebumps after hearing the place has been reported to have paranormal activity. When we left, our Jeep broke down less than 2 miles away and there were no mechanics open in the area on Sunday. We limped all the way home, and now 3 days later, my local mechanic still cannot figure out the problem - $600 into it. I told him we brought home a ghost. I have never had such a poor experience and I have traveled all over the country, the Caribbean and Europe. I DO NOT recommend this hotel. Many other guests were complaining while we were at the desks. The poolside bar was expensive and EXTREMELY SLOW to get a beverage. No breakfast, no restaurant. Pay a little more and stay just down the beach at Margaritaville!!!
Dirty room and the sheets didn't even look like they were changed. I found a hair on my towel. Bathroom was disgusting.
The proximity to the beach
The property had no functioning AC throughout and in the rooms as well, we had a portable noisy unit to cool the room. The whole property is completely abandon and worn down all areas are old and filthy and closed down. The rooms are very outdated and non functional
The location since its on the beach and the bar is nice.
As soon as we got there, we checked in to our SHITTY room. We did not discover until later that night just HOW shitty it was. There was BLOOD in our sheets, on our bed, black hairs all over the room, UNDER THE SHEETS, in the tub around the toilet, makeup all over the pillows, like this room was not cleaned~!!! When we complained they radioed in and said "please VIP clean this room" and when asked what that means it means to clean it "better than average" GROSS. I complained and they moved me to a completely different room, which was much better, and they said it was the same price. Not sure why they are even RENTING OUT that first room- ROOM 751. When we returned the next day because we forgot things in the room, sure enough they were still there even though it was rented out again, because why- they did not clean it. THIS PLACE IS GROSS the employees were not even fazed by our complaints I am sure they get this all the time. The GM is supposed to call me today for money back, if not, I will dispute the credit card charges. I did not stay at the hotel, I had to drive home, at 6 months pregnant, because the "front desk was closed" and they obviously could not help me that night and there was no way I was staying in that bed.
The proximity to the beach
Confusing check in process
Exploring a historic building. The fact that it was right on the beach and the boardwalk was right there.
The parking here was not happening and it was very expensive. The air conditioner leaked all over the floor. The pool became over crowded and children were eating in the pool.
A.C was broken had to sleep with fan. Parking is not included so add that to your reservation.
Old building with quaint rooms and hallways.
Air conditioning was not working in July. Room had a portable inside the room kind that was very noisy. The hallways and lobby had none and the heat was unbearable while checking in. The shops closed down because of no air. I heard from other people that the air conditioning system is always on the blink.
IT WAS HORRIBLE
The staff were very nice and helpful. The location was in an ideal location.
This is not to bash the hotel just the facts. I was informed the room I was staying in was newly renovated with an ocean view. Upon arrival in the room I saw old tile floors with very dirty grout. The bed was just a wood frame and mattress in the middle. The TV was an old model, those large square boxes from my year of birth (1991). I wouldn't have mind it if the clearity and operation of it was functional. Maintainance came up twice to fix it because it would black out when watching it. They said they were working on the roof causing service distruption. The bathroom was outdated. The tub had cracked plaster and rust along the shower rod. The light fixture was always going out and you had to play with the switch to turn it back on. The ocean view was a view of the roof then the ocean due to the hotel layout. My package gave me breakfast each morning. The first morning there just two kiosk which only serve iced coffee or juice and a breakfast sandwich. The breakfast sandwich I ordered wasn't cooked in the middle. I tried another kiosk the next morning but they were closed the remainder of my 5 night stay forcing me to go to ihop each morning. I paid $18/day for parking when I got there even though they charged me a $50 resort fee for amenities that didn't exist. If this hotel fits your budget and location needs just know that if your disatisfied with your room upon entry ask for another and you don't need the breakfast option cause there's no variety. Try not park there if you don't need to. Enjoy your stay.
I liked that it had a kitchen and cabinets and that is right in front of the beach.
This hotel is so huge if you have health problems or trouble walking make sure your room is closest to elevator. This is like a haunted hotel that's what it felt like barely any staff around and room service, yea right. The most upsetting was the bed it was hard and the A.C on blast was too cold to sleep and blankets stunk like cigarettes and there was cigarette holes on the blanket lol The bathroom was old and tub dirty and to make things worse the keys would stop working a few times and security guard was very rude! Never would i stay here again or recommend.
Beach and pool
Rooms and hotel interior
Room was newly remodeled
Lobby an hallways were old and dirty. Registration is on the side of the building, then you have to go around to another door where they have the registration for a different hotel to take the elevator to the room. You need two sets of keys, one for the elevator and pool and one for the room
It was dirty, run down. Terrible customer service. Paid a resort fee for 2 worn out bath towels. No internet, smoke smell in entire hotel. Said ice machine on every floor, there was a hook up for it, but no machine. Several of the rooms had eviction notices on them. "Restaurant" on site was a beach side surf bar that had AWESOME burgers, the best part of the whole stay was our lunch there!!! Waited for 4 hours for our room to be cleaned, not offered towels yet at least 5 other couples were given their rooms prior to official check in time. How is it that it takes 4 hours to clean a room? DO NOT go by the pictures posted on the website, they either are staged or photoshopped! If I hadn't been with a group of 7 with 3 small kids, I would have gone to another hotel.
On the beach location
Name suggested it was near cruise port. It was 8.5 miles. Shuttle was $18 each way. Resort fee? No internet in room. Parking $18 per night. Threadbare beach towels. Toiletries consisted of 1 shampoo. Electricity & plumbing & decor out the 50's. Drapes were shredded. Rooms overbooked. Had to stand in line twice for half an hour. Only to get a downgraded room. One double bed. Very uncomfortable. Could hear sounds all night from neighboring rooms. Would never stay again at any price
The rooms need an extensive upgrade
Room was nice but the rest of the place was horrific! Run down and dirty in the common areas. Garbage cans in common areas were often overflowing. The gym was absolutely disgustingly filthy and smelled awful. Not to mention how old the equipment was. Large areas were also sectioned off and no one was allowed in Those common areas. I can only assume that's because they didn't want to clean it. Half of the doors leading outside were broken and actually had chains on them. I only encountered one member of the staff that was friendly and accommodating and his name was Miguel. The rest of the staff were either rude or just couldn't be bothered. To sum things up, the common areas basically looked like an abandoned mall scene from The Walking Dead.
Good location on boardwalk. OK if you pay less than $100 a day including resort fee (winter rate local market). Good security. Courteous desk staff. There is a good safe in the room. My room had fridge and stove and amazingly they worked.
Musty smell everywhere. Place very worn out and needs renovation. Noisy when people in hallways. Very poor room service, they did not make the bed, sweep the floors or tidy up the bathroom in 6 days. Lucky me, they brought fresh towels once (I didn't feel like complaining so I looked after my own room). No dish cloth. Room needs new cupboard and curtains. Elevators are so worn out, you always wonder if they're gone make it up to the 7th floor. No parking unless you pay $18/day. Shower trickles and goes from hot to cold to hot. TV is from the 80's but still works. Asked for wake up call and never got it. Enjoy your camping trip...
Location, room itself was in nice shape, shuttle service from airport
confusion about which hotel it was; no telephone access in room despite front desk not being aware of this and ending upp causing us to miss each other for three hours (they kept trying to reach room only to find out later there was no telephone jack in this room. all ice machine were out of order on all floors. Felt sorry for front desk staff as they were receiving many complaints. Beds were pretty firm
awesome studio room. 1 minute walk to the beach! And everytime we got back from the beach we had new sheets already on our bed. I love the location you don't even need a car.
one of the sassy receptions, other than that awesome!
They have a bar on the beach that serves food until ten. That is the only benefit of this place.
This place is rundown and old. It looks nothing like the pictures when you get there. This is a time share/extended stay place that hasn't been updated in 20 years. They only have wifi in the lobby. Nickle and dime you with daily parking and resort fees. Never again.
The location off the beach and boardwalk is awesome. It was a good value for location and access. Room size was great, the bed seemed new and really comfortable.
Parts of the hotel are getting renovated and part still needs a ways to go.
Not much. Cheap(er) than other hotels. Get what you pay for.
Parking is $15 per day in adjacent public parking garage. This is not clear on their website. Front desk is confusing as the Cruise Port front desk is in a different building from the rooms. Building is old and dirty. Resort fee $10 per day. Not much of a resort.
Close to the beach, restaurants, bars, etc. Okay for 1 or 2 nights.
Requires updates, mainly on bathrooms.
Thermostat not working, room too cold.
Room size was good.
the location is awesome...walk out back door to boardwalk and beach room was nice and clean...bathroom was very clean...updated perfect for price ..paring was easy and accessible ..many conveniences...store, gift shops, bike rental and delis in the hotel...
older hotel,....carpets need cleaned....would not dare walk on carpet in hall without shoes....dated hotel...
La ubicacion es perfecta, pues tiene al area de atrs muchas tiendas, y areas para entrtenerse. La piscina es fabulosa. La habitacion se ve limpia.
La habitacion es pequeña,
Everything..Nice and clean...
Great location - right on the beach. Good pool. Restaurants nearby.
Crowded & slow elevators
