Nothing! It was a mess! The reception is nice so that the guests would not turn around immediately. As soon as you reach the elevator it is digusting. The rooms were awful, I found hair all over, the bed were as old as the beds in the hostel of my University. You entered to eat your breakfast and the carpet on the floor was more dirty than a dencfloor after a big party.
It's very convenient, being directly opposite the railway station and very close to the bus station. It is a trolleybus ride to get to the old town. Tickets can be bought on the bus. It isn't air-conditioned and the rooms can get very hot during the summer. Maybe it will improve when it becomes part of the Clarion Hotels chain soon
Reliability and close to railway station, friendly efficient staff Restaurant was deserted which dissuaded me from eating in it ( a regular event as I have stayed in this hotel several times before) although when I did eat previously in the restaurant the food was absolutely fine
I should mention that this is a former "Eastern Bloc" tower block style hotel that has had some internal modernisation and therefore is an interesting quirk if you are into that sort of thing. You can almost imagine yourself in the old Eastern Bloc as you look out across the recently renovated station square from the 10th floor! That said, I think that the hotel has come under a new chain of ownership since a friend stayed there in 2008. Personally I found the hotel met my needs adequately and it's location close to hl.n. (main) station was my main reason for chosing this hotel. The Breakfast could perhaps have a bit more choice but I didn't starve! Whilst ideal for the station the hotel is a good 15 minute walk from the city centre but worth the walk!
there is a "thanks" letter on the wall of the hotel for giving accomodation to US Army in 1996 - i thought they just left but then i noticed they stayed only for 3 days. avoid this hotel if you can. too bad there are no other offers on booking.com from pardubice area.
Very convenint location, big parking just in front of the hotel, good breakfast. Wasn't very bad, but wasn't good either. No internet in the room, no minibar, no english language tv (well, eurosport was there, but it's not exactly what I was looking for), very old facilities, personell just like we went back to the '70s
easy to reach, good parking A million years old, and since then never changed furniture nore carpets. Like a trip back to communist era sixties.
I most enjoyed checking out Room quality did not match specification or photographs on website. When I asked for a room like those shown on the website I was told by the manager that "that is only a photo... not in this hotel". The room was outdated, dirty and lacked basics. Curtains did not close. Carpet had fluff from months without adequate cleaning.... and this was the superior apartment. The single/double roooms worse
Location was excellent being beside the railway station and trolley bus terminus. Would have been nice if they had had a record of our booking. Lucky the hotel is a big stack of concrete and had plenty of room. The facilities are all a bit tired like the shower and the window glazing
My room on the 10th floor had a balcony with a wonderful view of the station and the countryside beyond. I assume the rooms on the other side will have a view of the old town. Staff very obliging. Room is perfectly clean and well kept especially for the price - I have paid a lot more for a lot less in Germany. Breafast was not anything special - a very basic range.
The Okresny Dum is set in a beautiful old building, the rooms are large with very high ceilings giving them a nice airy quality. The bath rooms have been retro-fitted into the room in stylish enough way but they do not have showers but only a bath tub with no shower curtain around which I found a bit annoying as it makes taking a shower a bit of a nuisance. Apart from the lack of showers, I found the breakfast too basic. Selection was very limited.
Nice large rooms. Located on the edge of the old town. Elevator made getting luggage up and down convenient. Staff very helpful. Good breakfast. Very good value.
clean friendly staff good location
Sorry, I was dissapointed and there was nothing what I would like at Hotel, restaurant was closed during my stay, breakfast was served by one non-professional person who tried to be too familiar, and the hotel parking place was dirty and wet. Honestly I do not understand how the hotel could be valuated as 4 star. This is my first time when I was non-satisfied with holet booked via booking com.
Spacious Room, Close to Center, Good parking Place. No Kettle for Bag Coffee.
The hotel is situated on the big square of this beautifull city. The shower was broken and there was not a lot of room in the bathroom. The room was under the ceiling and very low.
I liked location of it very much No
clean, free wireless (only 3rd floor), private parking with reasonable rate, staff is really helpful, location is perfect, just in old town square not easy to find the place (logo is not clear), and as the place is huge, it takes more walking time to the room.
Very clean, reasonably comfortable and well priced. Good location and choice / price of food Room was a bit small / cramped. Wouldn't suit very tall people! (top floor with sloping ceilings).
Great setting and atmosphere - not a standard building! Breakfast excellent good choice hot and cold food. Friendly and helpful receptionist. Room a little on the small side for a twin.
Kind service- very good located.
Very quite area and the hotel is very poor Do not go for the top floor specially if it is raining, roof is very noisy.
The hotel was very quiet, comfortable and relaxing. All the hotel staff were pleasant, with the hotel receptionists being particulary helpful at all times. Restaurant food also high quality.
Clean, running water but no shower curtain!!! Pleasant hotel, and very clean. No shower curtain and no hook to hang the shower above your head. But since this is the only decent hotel in the area, the choice is limited.
I booked smokeless room, and was told that I got one, but for a nonsmoker it was clear that this was not a smokless room.
The room was too hot and there was not temperature regulation system...
Very quiet and relaxed place while in the very heart of (historical) town.
hospitality of the staf No
Parking is an absolute nightmare anywhere near the hotel.
Location. Staff seemed still to be suffering from the old ways of doing things, with a exceptiuon of the woman on duty when we checked in
location; parking; value for money
The girls at reception were outstanding in being friendly and helpful. the daily set menu for lunch was not available in the English language.
A lot of space in the appartment and a very fast (wired) internet No elevator 80 steps to 3th floor
Excellent, tastefully decorated, fully equipped spacious apartments in a characterful building right in the centre of the old town. Owners have keen attention to detail. Wired Internet access was well performing. I was very impressed indeed.
Conveniently sited in Old Town, well equipped, warm. Rather a lot of steps to climb, so not totally convenient for older or disab led persons
two rooms, kitchen for 60 euros
Milos the Manager was fantastic and really made us relaxed from the moment we arrived, The Apartment itself was superb, we couldnt recommend this enough to people visiting Hradec Kralove. The central position meant we could walk everywhere, Restaurants were 2 mins away if that and the other side of the river 5 minutes, Absolutely 4 star + we would stay again and only wish they had residences worldwide....They really know how to do it....The pictures don't really do this place justice, it is very bohemian and modern at the same time. We loved our stay here, it was like home to home, the shower was excellent the beds comfortable and the facilities top class... Nothing
Well situated hotel, in the very center of HR, up to date furniture and facilities, very nice, clean and light room with big window, TV set is working, there are no smell of cigarettes in room or in building in general (I am not smoker) , I am very happy with my choice.
clean, safe, city center, 15 min walk from railway station, friendly staff.
Spaceous accommodation, with simple, but adequate kitchen facilities. Very well placed in Old Town area and within walking distance of all major features. Also several good little bakeries around the corner. Lovely building well restored and good insulation from what little noise there was. We would of liked it even more, if for the price, a simple welcome pack was on offer eg a bottle of wine some bread and cheese, a pack of tea and some sachets of coffee would not of gone a miss.Oh and of course some milk.
It is not a hotel in fact, but an old building with new appartments for short-long term rent. It is situated in the hostorical center of Hradec Kralove. Perfect quality for good price.
very warm welcome from the staff, cheap parking just accross the street Twin bed with a big gap between, no shower gel - just a small soap, tv with 2 channels only. Poor breakfast with people smoking around, we ran from the hotel to get a proper breakfast.
Very good, very helpful, staff, good location. Clean dry rooms wonderful breakfast nothing
Nothing Arogance of one employee - Eva Petrova
The staff was really nice and helpfull. Big rooms. For the non-smokers a perfect hotel, unlike in other non-smoking hotels in Czech Republic, here it is actually non-smoking. Beds are pretty hard (I like softer beds myself) and the breakfast wasn't very special, however the young lady which brings you your coffee or tea was doing her job excellent.
The friendly staff speaks English. The room was very basic, but had a good bed. The restaurant closes at 8 PM, so when you arrive late, there's nowhere to eat.
I couldn't pay my bill in euros. They made me change the money to CZK, so I pay 16% more - I paid 52 instead of 45 €.
Location, Price There is no conditioner. In numbers it is stuffy. Unpleasant smell
Friendly staff. I've been lucky to have a room with Wi-Fi, but it seems that not all have it. There is a free parking in front of the hotel, but there are not many places.
Having a promotion for 160 euro for 5 nights, this was a good price/quality deal. Very good connections to Prague city and seen the price the perfect solution if you don't mind the "huge factory mass production" atmosphere. Enormous hotel with typical aspects of such hotels. Large groups of tourists, noisy, more "factory" mass production then a personal approach. The buffelt was every day the same but correct, clean and correctly cooled (ham, cheese, ...)
Good breakfast, helpfull and friendly staff.
Nice breakfast, good restaurant and for me the location was good This was the second time that I spent part of my holiday in Hradec Kralove. I chose again Hotel Alessandria because last year the staff was kind and helpful (that time they changed my room because it was too noisy) but this time they didn't: there were men at work in Hotel and outside in the street, and there were no warm water (just brown water) for 5 hours in the morning and there was always too much noise. Not very clean (I had to ask for changing towels). I will not come back anymore.
the room was very nice and a welcoming look after a long day at work
Very nice modern hotel with good breakfast, a bit out of town but only a 10 minute walk.
The staff were extremely friendly and professional. Check in and check out was efficient. An ideal business hotel.
Modern, clean, comfortable, like urban style hotel, and big parking area though it is located inside the city. And amaging that there was great joice for breakfast! I like it. Unfortunately hotel restaurant for dinner was closed that day, but I would like to try next time if I have chance to come back. No complaints
Clean, quiet, cheap but smart, very good breakfast, very close to downtown, frendly staff, 32" lcd in the room
