The cleaniness and comfort was most impressive. The room standard was extremely high and the food was acceptable if not outstanding. The location was difficult to find. The hotel was definately not in Huntingdon and there were few if any signposts.
The quality of everything used in building was particularly good, eg the doors were soundproof , width of corridors, lighting, air con, quality of bedding, in fact it was all faultless and I have rarely stayed in a better hotel at any price. It was all faultless
lovely room, good leisure club facilities Hard to find reception staff-alwayas behind closed doors, and not visible to find.
Staff were extremely helpful even tho' they were very busy - they were very pleasant and anticipated our needs. None
Nice room which was very comfortable. Good breakfast with plenty of choice of different foods. Easy access to gym and swimming pool. The breakfast room/ restaurant lacks atmosphere in evening, ie does not feel like a restaurant. We stayed on first floor close to conference room - this was noisy due to presence of wedding party.
The staff were pleasant and helpful. Room service was overpriced. For an executive double it did not include breakfast and did not have a mini bar. Most other hotels offer these things for an executive rate.
enjoyable spa, many choice of breakfast, room looked modern and clear, half hour get to the city of cambridge. no enough milk for making tea and coffee in the room
Proximity to road networks etc. Comfortable environment to relax in. Very good service. Nil
Clean, easily accessible Confusion and excessive charge regarding two small dogs staying in our room. We selected hotels for "animal friendly", but were charged an unannounced gbp 75 for "deep cleaning charges".
The service was good and the breakfast was substantial.
A fair priced hotel, friendly staff but a little bit hidden and there are no signs to find the way to the hotel the search for it
Lack of a lounge to meet other delegates
Nikki the receptionist. Very friendly lady. We booked the lodge thinking it would have been a busy bar, but Nikki provided the entertainment and Old Joe one of the regulars and a couple of others stayed behind after Nikki finished to have a drink and share a few laughs. For a lodge which are usually stiff and non friendly I would highly recommend Redwings. At least you can get a late drink whatever time you arrive. And a continental breakfast was included in the price. Weekend only. The room was spotlessly clean, bed comfortable and our room was on the ground floor (smoking) overlooking a field. Very nice. Would certainly go back for an overnight stay.
Relaxed, quiet friendly service from all the staff
24 hr bar, smoking rooms. comfort would love a cooked breakfast especially in the winter.
The peace and quiet No cold water in the morning to shower or brush teeth
The staff are very helpful and the rooms are clean. The location of the hotel is very convenient to a number of cities and colleges. Some of the rooms smell of cigarettes and we are non smokers.
We thought the staff were very efficient and friendly, the rooms were comfortable and clean. The only thing I could say is that it needs more drinks available on draught and a full english breakfast option.
easily accecible, nice reception when we arrived room was ready, breakfast was good, nice and quiet.
frendly approach of staff none
The old looking too noisy the corridor
The traditional style of the hotel. It was better than first impressions suggested. The need for refurbishment/ redecoration in many areas
The breakfasts were very good but meal in the evening was not up to much and poor value, some of the menu was not available. The single rooms were quite big and very comfortable. floor in the old part was very uneven and room doors quite hard to open with the key.
Convenience for the town and surrounding areas .Meals were served ina cheerful manner and were of a reasonable standard. In need of some redecoration and general cleanup.
It is right in centre of town ,good location ,wedding reception good .meal hot , breakfast hot and plenty of choice too. The hotel room was poorly cleaned ,one had not even had the bin emptied in bathroom. the wall had something on it? there was not even hand wash when you had used the loo (.3* never) .asked at reception said they would sort it which they didn't.i booked 4 rooms for a family wedding
The location is very good, and the room we stayed in was big and quiet. The hotel has a wonderful courtyard if you go for lunch or drinks in good weather. There were cobwebs on the windows, and old dust on the furniture. The doors leading to the ground floor rooms had not been cleaned for some time, and the furniture in the lobby is old and uncomfortable. There is no lift and nobody to help with your luggage up a long staircase. The staff tries hard but there are not enough persons to do the job.
Staff was great, breakfast was tasty, nice bar to meet locals.
Convenient location with good ambience Bill was not correct I had to notify them of item not included such as my meal.
The athmosphere was very nice. The historical nature of the hotel made our stay very enjoyable for us. The staff was also helpful.
Late bar on a sunday night Hostile manner of bar staff
Reception/bar staff helpful and friendly; rooms clean; ease of access to Cambridge Breakfast was poor and limited staff; cold food and "hot" food in different rooms. Cooked breakfast was poor, cold and on second day even having paid for breakfast in room price we went to local cafe
