The location is perfect, it is right off of River Ness. The views are spectacular and it is walking distance to restaurants and shopping. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful and make your stay enjoyable. The only thing that was an issue was the shower pressure was very light in our room.
The owners were great... It's located right on the Ness River on the walkway just across a small bridge from town center. We went to Gellions and listened to local music and had a great time. Parked on the street for free.
Peace & quiet and the views of the Loch.
Remote location and a reasonable view of Loch Ness from the front of the hotel. the food menu is limited and due to the location during a long weekend proved repetitive
Fantastic room with 4-poster bed and excellent service
Very friendly, excellent food and wonderful setting and views, made our 10th wedding anniversary very special!
The owners, Mr. and Mrs. Martin Donnelly, are very welcoming and friendly people. Martin is an excellent chef as well, and the food is gourmet quality. The hotel itself is a bit out of the way, but very charming with a great view of Loch Ness and some wonderful walks. Probably due to the length of our stay (6 days), we were upgraded to a superior room, which was roomy and very comfortable. The only thing we didn't like was leaving.
The view from the room was outstanding The food was appalling, the atmosphere strained and the public rooms gloomy.
Great staff, lovely location
staff fantastic no choice for evening meals
The location is great and the room was nice The shower was cold. I wanted an early breakfast but the owners didn't accommodate this
Two years ago we have visited the Craigdarroch House Hotel as a 4 star hotel with 2 aa Red Rosettes. The hotel then was in need of a bit of tlc, but the food has made our stay worthwile. This year - we returned for the food and not for the grandeur of the hotel - we discovered that the owners haven't made any improvements to the hotel (so still in need of some serious tlc) but that the hotel has lost both of their aa Red Rosettes since 2010. And it even seems that the chef has lost his passion for food! The Craigdarroch House Hotel hasn't anything on offer for us to return next year. The owners need to improve their game otherwise they'll might lose their 4 star rating as well.
Excellent location and very welcoming and friendly; good breakfast.
Very helpful & friendly staff
Friendly staff. great location. Hotel generally quite "tired"
The hosts were very friendly and nothing was too much for them. The view from our room even our bed was beautiful, our dog was very welcome which was great for us.It was very clean. Would have preferred proper shower and lino on bathroom floor. Also the bar to have been open a little later.
The location was amazing - just a short walk across the garden and you are on the sea front. The hotel/guest house is fascinating, a real sense of times gone by, the view from both our room and the breakfast room were amazing - it's worth paying that bit extra for a sea view. It was a challenge finding eating establishments close by as the hotel does not do evening meals, but the staff provided a map and a list of places to try.
Service , Location No evening meals
Lovely big room in a hotel in a beautiful location. Owners were so helpful and friendly. Breakfast arrangements were super...didnt feel rushed at all.
Great setting, professional and friendly
Something close to perfection, not a thing out of place, clean fantastic decor and fantastic owners Not one thing I can say was wrong or out of place, I would return anytime.
The Hotel was in a beautiful location, very clean and well maintained. The proprietors were very helpful and friendly. The food was excellent. We will be back to this Hotel again. No complaints.
Friendly & Helpful Staff
Staff very friendly. No hair dryer in room.
Leaving on the following morning The bed was next to the corridor and when anyone walked down it the bed vibrated and the noise was unbarable. The pillows were filled with cotton wool balls hard! As though they had been washed and lost their shape badly. The food was hot but average condition.
the staff was good we had my grandaughter who is 10 and they had a good children menu we ask fo a early breakfast as she was swimming at a gala at forress at 8.30 and that was no promblen at all.
the owners and staff were very nice and helpful
Clean, comfortable, very good service. Stayed here a few times on business and enjoy as always made welcome. Less impersonal than the other places that I have stayed in the area.
The owner made himself known to us and was very agreeable - and ensured the smooth running of the hotel by his presence in the hotel. No
The smell of damp in the reception and bar. being overcharged in the bar.
Everything about the hotel was excellent. Location was excellent for using public transport, with buses passing the door hourly to either Inverness or Aberdeen and locations on route. Food most enjoyable and all in all a very people frendly place to say. nothing that we didn't like about our stay
Quietness of the Village and the area surrounding the Hotel. Its proximity to many places of interest and beaches etc.. The Juke Box in the Bar and Dining Area. Very intrusive and out of keeping with everything else about the Hotel. it also annoyed other Diners.
