9.5 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay on Holbox at the beach guesthouse. It is on a beautiful and slightly less busy stretch of beach with plenty of private sun loungers to choose from. Self catered so no shortage of drinks and snacks on hand for the beach. Lovely walking along the beach to Punta Coco. John and Mandy are amazing hosts and know everything there is to know about the island, just stick to their recommendations (especially for food!), they are around to help with anything and everything. Highly recommended!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location - the best place on the island to stay - private beach area where as most hotels had crowded spaces. Owners were very welcoming and helpful. Walking distance to everything and delicious breakfast options. Lots of space and very comfortable. Highly recommend. Thank you for letting us stay. Great memories!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We loved the cozy & beautiful guesthouse, the owners John & Mandy are very friendly and helpful! It is located at the beach and only 5min from downtown, therefore calm. The apartment is big, included 2 bedrooms and even a kitchen, with filtered water:-)
Cons: -
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hosts were great people, knowledgeable about the island and very friendly! It's a three unit place, small and quiet with a great location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I was so lucky to stay at Guesthouse Holbox Apartments and Suites. As a solo female traveler this was the perfect place to unwind and relax right on the beach. I had the choice of watching the sunset from the beach or from the balcony of my room. The bed was also very comfortable. It is the perfect location, close enough to walk to town but just far away enough to have peace and quiet. John and Mandy were very welcoming, upon arrival I felt right at home. The only downside was I didn't have enough time to stay longer. I'll definitely be back! Thank you John and Mandy!

Pros: Amazing host and perfect beach hut in paradise!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything was great, very quiet and relaxing place with great location. John was extremely helpful with everything you need to know about your stay in Holbox, hence, making our stay feel like home.
5.8 Okay
Pros: It's a beautiful place...
Cons: We were constantly sarcastically insulted by the owners. The reason was that we have booked an apartment with 2 bedrooms but they refused to open the second one (the one with sea view) , they refused to open it as we were only 2 people. Maybe not everybody wants to share a bed...?! Booking told them that we booked and paid for 2 bedrooms and tried to convince them to open it. They still refused for no reason. At some point at night they disturbed and then opened it, probably because they got in trouble with booking. So all for nothing... Not without dumping a huge load negativity... The energy of them ruined our stay, we were treated absolutely not welcome throughout our stay! I can only warn everybody to not have any conflict whatsoever with the hosts. It's a beautiful place ruined by the mental state of the owners. A host should comfort the needs of a guest not display their power... It's not a hotel, you will stay next door with them... And for what in the end, washing two more sheets...?!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: John and Mandy are excellent hosts! The Guesthouse is perfect located and they did everything to make our trip unforgettable! Thank you, we will come back!
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location on the less busy side of the island. Beachfront with comfy beds and hammocks right in front. Beautiful view from room. Excellent staff and food. Would highly recommend.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: - Absolutely delicious meals cooked by Carlos the chef - Friendly staff - Secluded part of the island which is exactly what we were looking for - Wonderful cocktails (I recommend the Mr Ginger!) - Free bikes and an easy ride to Holbox center - Walking distance to Punta Coco where there is a nice little bar
Cons: - We stayed in the room not facing the ocean and there was noise coming from the main part of the house/kitchen early in the morning (starting at about 8am) and at night (until around 9pm). - Mosquitoes if you eat dinner outside - Having to pay cash for drinks/food on the last day when checking out because their credit card terminal was not working
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This place is amazing. The staf is amazing, it is quiet, you feel like in a private home with your own cook. Very relaxing.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The house is wonderful and beautiful, we are alone in this side of the island, on a private beach. The food is amazing, cocktails are awesome, the breakfast with the view on the pool and the sea is an amazing memory.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Personal chef and bartender. Located on the beach with a perfect little pool and jacuzzi. Plenty of options for places to lay on the beach hammocks, beds all sorts of interesting areas.
Cons: Rocks prevent you from walking straight out into water but obviously serves a purpose in protecting the property so shouldn't the a real complaint.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance is incredible from the moment you walk in the door! The food was amazing-presentation, quality and taste! The staff became like family - they are soo nice. It was a beautiful experience all around.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property was amazing in that it represented itself just as it advertised. It was clean appealing to the eye, and well maintained.
Cons: My only complaint is that the steps aren’t the same distance apart. But I was able to compensate keeping myself safe.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Property, staff amazing. SUPER recommend!
8.0 Excellent
Cons: My room needed some work, as if it wasn’t finished
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! There is always better but for a hotel on a small island & with this price it’s perfect! Absolutely loved my stay here. Beautiful design, exceptional clean, friendly staff, delicious and fresh food & drinks prepared by the chef with fair prices, nice lounge music, comfortable beds, beautiful views, quite area and free view on the sea, not crowded like the other beaches, but still close enough to the city center by bike. Very relaxing.
Cons: Poor WiFi connection, but that’s an issue on the whole island. The rooms downstairs are a little bit noisy cause they are next to the main area and kitchen so you hear the people talking and preparing breakfast. Curtains are not blackout so it’s light in the room in the morning. Coffee could be better.
Overview Reviews
When you stay at Casa Las Tortugas Petit Beach Hotel & Spa in Isla Holbox, you'll be on the beach, within a 15-minute drive of Holbox Beach and Punta Mosquito Beach. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was delicious and service was really friendly.
Cons: Service at the restaurant/beach club could be a little slow, but wasn't bad. Just a little slower pace than life in the city
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Everything is superb. The price is definitely too high ...I pay just as much for the 4 seasons. However the super nice staff and the beauty of the place make up for that! Definitely coming back
Cons: Way too expensive
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing, it definitely has some of the best beach space on the island. Staff and facilities were amazing and the restaurants on-site are some of the best around. We didn't leave the hotel for the first few days as it had everything we needed! Highly recommend the sushi bar on the roof to catch the sunset and definitely get down to the beach early to secure a good spot.
Cons: Because the beach is so nice you do tend to get a lot of people wandering from all over the island and pitching up a spot without realising its mostly for guests only. It would be beneficial if the hotel put up a sign so as to avoid some awkward conversations.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic location, staff are excellent and the beach is immaculate.
Cons: n/a
9.5 Excellent
Cons: There was very poor wifi
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel was AMAZING. So tranquil and beautiful on the most stunning beach. Right near the centre of town but so quiet and peaceful. I walked up and dowb the island and I don't think I saw a beach as nice as this. Staff incredibly friendly and teh food was great. Pool was also nice. Very clean and nice cute rooms. Would highly recommend to anyone. Near a fun beach bar too. Close to all tourist attractions too. Breakfast was also included and was so generous and yummy!
Cons: Wifi was a little poor - make sure you plan some recommendations and look up stuff before you get there! But it was ncie to have a break from social media and most of the island is like this anyway. Activities booked through the hotel were really really over priced - my advice would be to walk into the town and book them there - the hotel charges maybe 2 times the amount as what we found wondering the town.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was beautiful - right on the beach with plenty of day beds and lounges for guests. Staff are attentive and charming. The restaurant at the hotel is great also - the included breakfast was wonderful every day. Morning yoga excellent also and a nice day to start the day. Will definitely be back!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The restaurant staff is very friendly.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Cute rooms, relaxing, right on the beach. Free breakfast was very good.
Cons: Cell connection was bad, but that’s kind of a good thing. When hanging by the pool we were told to be quiet because someone was getting a service nearby.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved everything about this hotel. The rooms, decorations, staff, beach, sun beds, service, food and the pool. We couldn’t of been happier staying here. The is so beautiful. It is right on a beautiful beach front and out the back is the small Main Street full of cheap delicious food restaurants. Holbox Island is a dream. We stayed in the basic room but they are all beautiful and unique. The sun lounges are comfortable and the best that we saw on the island. The breakfast was delicious. We would definitely return if we travel to Holbox again. The free events the hotel offers are lovely too. Keep an eye out for what’s on.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is the best. We loved the decoration. I think in real life the hotel looks more beautiful then on the pictures. It was very clean. The airco was very silent. No noice from the other rooms. Lovely swimmingpool. They serve free water. Free tea, coffee and sweet pastry's in the morning at the (very helpfull and attending) reception. Loved it here.
Cons: Nothing!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Unusual design, I really liked the shell shower and wooden beams everywhere. The little book with information about the island was great. Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Unfortunately the toilet flush wasn’t very powerful and the local dogs decided to have a barking contest early hours!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The bed was vey comfortable and the shower was amazing. The hotel doesn’t have access to the beach, but it makes it up with a very nice pool and the recommendation of the beach club El Velero which we also liked a lot.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean, well maintained and stylish.
Cons: Bicycles would be a great idea otherwise they have to be rented nearby. Also facilities to refresh or change if staying after check out.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice size bed, good air conditioning, the shells the water came out of are a nice feature, also the hammock in the room is a nice touch. Good location - quirky & nice hotel.
Cons: The stairs we had to bring our suitcases up/down. But oh well, it was only once.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean hotel, located perfectly on the island. the swimming pool is amazing to relax by and the rooms have all the comfort you need. The small booklet in the room is very helpful with all information for the island The staff was extremely helpful. I came down with a stomach ache and they did everything to help me and gave some advice on what to get to make me feel better. Many thanks
Cons: Just a recommendation: although the shell shower has a nice touch to it. I can't help but feel like you're wasting a lot of water when standing underneath it. Being on an ecological island, I think this could be better.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable big beds. Nice Pool area. Great location, no need to stay directly on the beach, everything is 2-5 minutes walk away. Also loved the hotel cat!
Cons: Nothing to say really, would have been great to have snacks available at the pool bar.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nicely styled hotel with a lot of palm trees , hammocks etc to get you straight into the island vibes. Nice location close to the city centre but still quiet. We had a very nice stay and felt really welcome.
Cons: There is no fridge in the room and the bar at the pool is only open in the afternoon so it requires some walks to the nearby shops to buy stuff , very minor detail though !
9.3 Excellent
Pros: - Amazing but really amazing staff at the hotel. You are welcomed with a lot of information, cocktail and everything you need. Specially thank you Alejandra for the help with our bags after they lost it in Cancun Airport! - Very clean and nice room with comfortabel bed and good working AC. - Really close to the main square of Holbox and the beach (both 5-10 min walking) - Nice clean, private pool to relax.
Cons: - Wifi didn’t work to fast, but it’s at the whole island Isla Holbox. - Hotel doesn’t rent or has bikes, but around the corner you have 2 bike rental shops.
6.3 Good
Pros: We had a balcony in our room that overlooked the pool which was nice. Central location
Cons: The WiFi did not reach our room even though it was the closest room to the reception (where the modem was). The room was very small. Just a bed and a dresser. There was a hammock hanging between the door and the bed which was a bit annoying having to go under the hammock every time you moved in the room. The ‘breakfast’ was just coffee/tea and breads sitting on the reception desk. Definitely not worth the amount of money we paid to stay here. There was also lots of tiny ants in the room.

Pros: Staff, staff, location. Do the whale shark tour and set it up with the staff. Monserrat was the best and Salvador was awesome

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was really nice, clean and beautiful. The room we had was really gorgeous, with a nice jacuzzi and sea view. The pool area with the bar is really nice as well and the staff was always helpful and lovely
Cons: They should have warned us they were making remodelations, as we being architect + civil engineer, all we didn't want for our holidays was the sound of construction environment.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely gorgeous villa on the beach. The beach and pool area is stunning with free towels and beds. Also free use of kayaks which was a bonus! Lovely little cafe on the beach for breakfast. We hope to come back!
Cons: We booked an ocean view suite but not much of a sea view as lots of palm trees in front, however being a few seconds from the beach meant it really didn’t matter at all! WiFi didn’t work from the room but seems to be a problem across the island
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms are very nicely decorated and made with top quality materials. We loved that it is a small hotel next to the beach. Vicky (Virginia) at the reception took excellent care of us. She organized everything and made us feel at home.
Cons: It felt Overpriced. The cost was like a 5+ hotel despite the fact that it is still under construction. There is only a provisional restaurant at a very high cost. On Monday morning, works started at 8am!.

Cons: Nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We loved the design of the place. It’s simply beautiful! Relaxing atmosphere. Good beds as well.
Cons: The breakfast looks a bit clumsy on portable tables in the sand. We didn’t understand why they didn’t use the nice restaurant area for this. It’s very expensive for a family of 4 and you need 2 rooms.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room & view was so amazing. My husband & I came for our honeymoon & the staff went above & beyond for us. They even had a little surprise in the room when we arrived! Most amazing place to stay, thank you
Cons: Only thing I would say could be better is the WIFI
7.5 Good
Pros: I liked that the room came with breakfast and access to paddle boards and bikes
Cons: I did not like that the bar area closes early. We wanted to eat or have drinks at night but it was closed. Plus the service at the restaurant was not the best. I would’ve liked for staff to be more engaging in the restaurant bar area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location & beachfront bar/restaurant. Very clean and comfortable room. Great food and friendly staff. Would definitely return and recommend!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The complementary breakfast was a full on buffet and was absolutely delicious!
Cons: There could have been more drinkable water available. Our room received 4 small glass bottles a day and there was a small water dispenser at the bar. I drink a lot of water and we ended up buying a two gallon in town and bringing it back to the room.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very quiet, amazing beach and sea. The facilities, very new, are really relaxing. We spent one of the best night in Mexico.
Cons: Breakfast is not fantastic, and the service is low. No restaurant for dinner, so you need to go in the city, not so far, but the path is a little bit dark. Internet is very very low (same problem everywhere in the island, they said)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: People
Cons: Excelente hotel, all employees are oriented to customer satisfaction, located in the best area of Holbox.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: staff were the best!! Abraham provided for all of our needs! the fish dinner w/ grilled vegies were exceptional we are totally satisfied w/ this quiet peaceful choice
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved that breakfast was included and it was not a cheap continental breakfast but cooked to order from a menu. The palapas had a nice sized table between the two cushioned loungers that was perfect for the wait staff to serve you lunch, dinner, or whatever drinks you ordered. The front desk staff was very helpful with information and guidance about the island. The property was clean and peaceful. It was exactly what I was searching for.
Cons: I was surprised there wasn't a TV in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous! Right on the beach, it was a little piece of paradise. Staff were always friendly to help & the breakfasts included loads of great options. The perfect place to stay. LGBT friendly
Cons: WiFi didn’t work very well, but you wouldn’t want to be glued to your phone or laptop anyway here because there’s so much amazing stuff to see and do instead.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Host Abraham was very kind and helpful. Private beach with sun beds was perfect and swimming pool clean. Breakfast was big and tasty
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast on the beach, wonderful.
Cons: Tropical storm. Within half an hour everything was flooded around us.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Rooms and grounds are exceptionally maintained, great staff, location and beach, restaurant and service was excellent, staff is very friendly and helpful, 2nd stay there this year, will go back again!
Cons: Holbox infrastructure is continuously being upgraded, we ran out of water several times during our stay, an ongoing issue on holbox
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the garden, and location are all excellent. The resident gatos and iguanas are a lovely added touch!
Cons: The ocean view from the restaurant and from the lounges in front of hotel (looking toward the beach) is blocked due to the beach club tents. You cannot see the ocean.
7.5 Good
Pros: The hotel and beach is beautiful, amazing food too I totally recommend it, is just the service can be impproved
Cons: The recepcionist was not very friendly... I did appreciate being charged 19% taxes above the price, he was ceroflexible with the price and really not polite at all. I think this should be charged at the time of booking with the full rate(this is more for booking.com) the servers very slow you have to walk and ask for things and cero friendly also
Hotel Casa Takywara - Holbox - Building
8
9.1 Excellent (419 reviews)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The quiet, peaceful and cristal clear water at the beach. The friendly and caring service of Paulina and Daniel.
Cons: There was no restaurant or food service other than continental breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The access to the beach was great, with towels and nice chairs and umbrellas. The staff is super friendly. I must admit I wasn’t the easiest guest as my first impressions of the property were a bit unfair. But the manager did everything so we could be happy on our honeymoon.
Cons: You might be taken back from an initial impression but as I mentioned, the place is lovely and the access to the beach is priceless
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The surrounding : Hollbox is increible and the beach in front of the hotel is probably one of the nicest we have ever seen
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My son loved the hammocks, kitty cat and ocean front. I loved the quaint charm of this smaller hotel. My daughter loved that it was more secluded yet convenient to town, 10 min walk! My husband appreciated the spotless room and attentive service.
Cons: Nitging
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The settings are incredible, you are on the beach, facing the crystalline sea, and you wake up to the sound of the birds singing and the waves. The location is actually quite good, short bike/ walk distance from the town centre, but outside the touristy beaches.
Cons: Where do I start?? After a 20 hour journey from London, we were "welcomed" by the most unwelcoming staff, to a point that I wondered whether we were in the right place? Not a nice feeling, when you have travelled from so far! No welcome drinks, she did not show any of the facilities, did not explain any of the details about the room, area, location, etc. Check-in was done in a 2min record, leaving us a bit stunned. Overall she was rude all the way, rolling her eyes (!!) when we asked her to book a cab to get the ferry back to the mainland, or not being able to advise any places to eat at all. It might be just the case of one person (because the other staffs, working on the houses etc were lovely), but that was a pretty bad experience, that you would not expect when you pay that price per night. Secondly, each and everyone its own perspective about a holiday, but for the value, you might or might not have the AC working, might or might not have water to shower. It was all a gambling game, which to us, was not what we dreamt off, after long days wandering around under 40 degrees. We got told they had to do loads of work to do in the area, and so we had to wait hours to get our AC and water fixed, twice in 4 days. Lastly, and maybe this was unfortunate, but on our first night, we left our shoes and personal towels drying outside. And they got STOLEN! Talk about a dream island! The staff was trying to be helpful, but we had to chase them to get details on what happened and what they were going to do about it. We finally saw the manager (3 days later, only because we asked to!), and he was very apologetic (fair-play to him). However, I guessed if we were told not to leave out stuff on our personal terrace in the evenings during the check-in, this would not have happened.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location, great staff and a relaxing stay
Cons: nothing
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was amazing it was about a 15 min walk to the centro but it was like a 1 min walk to the beach, sunsets are amazing at that location and not so overcrowded.
Cons: The bathroom was a bit dirty and not cleaned right but luckily I took disinfecting wipes and that helped out a lot.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Having breakfast served on the porch was wonderful. There was always plenty quality coffee and fresh water in the room. The view from our Bungalow was the best of the property. Just feet away from the beach.
Cons: The water pressure in the bathroom should be stronger. It is in the kitchen and only trickled in the bathroom sink and the shower was only a light rainfall. Would have enjoyed a more brisk shower to remove the sand easier.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was just a few steps to a quiet beach. Breakfast was left in a basket at the door, full of fresh bread, fruit, yogurt and cereal. Plenty left over for lunch. A lovely, private haven away from the noise of the main town area
Cons: Nothing to dislike, everything was perfect
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Architecture, location. We had a great time!

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Charming and nicely decorated hotel. Centrally located.
Cons: Not much. Maybe the Internet which is slow.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Location was great! Right around the corner of the city square
Cons: The hotel staff DO NOT turn the air conditioner on for you, so when you arrive it's very hot and it takes all afternoon to cool off a little. Everyday when they clean the room they turn off the A/C and open the doors and windows and leave them open so when you get back it's HOT! and you go through the whole process of trying to get the room cool again, everyday! The room never got cold the whole week we were there. The electricity went out one day, the TV had to be worked on one day, the water was shut off one morning, we never had hot water in the shower which wasn't a problem because we were so hot and the wi-fi was slow. The room looks good-sized on the web photos but it's very small. The stairs going to the bed up-stairs was so dangerous, it's a ladder, straight up! with a rope handrail, felt like I was on a ship. The place has beautiful architecture but lacks in comfort and safety. Over-all I don't know how it has such high ratings...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were big plenty of room and comfy bed!!
Cons: breakfast was nice but you could only pick one thing from the menu. Would have been nice to have some fruits too
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Nice room, clean, nice staff, very good breakfast, perfect location, big terrace with a hammock and chair overlooking town.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the noise since our room overlooked town. I was expecting it to be too noisy to sleep, but it was actually okay. There were 3 of us in the room and only 2 places to sit on the terrace.
7.5 Good
Pros: breakfast was ok (included part very limited though). decor was gorgeous, location was perfect, cleaning was good, staff was nice
Cons: shower water flow was too low (even after we asked to fix it). body soap wasn't very good quality, there was no toothpaste included, no mini fridge where to keep fresh water, and the internet was terribly poor.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location is a couple of blocks from the beach in the downtown area Very clean and tidy with convenient shops and Restuarant’s there or close by Not on the beach but has a pool which is nice as very hot downtown without beach breeze Good value
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice swimmingpool and big room!
Cons: Tours are more expensive when you book it with the hotel
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Lovely pool and beautifully designed rooms, this place was just superb. The attached restaurant Parador 33 was excellent for dinner: Best fish on the island in my opinion. Breakfast was also served here.
Cons: I was in a 2 storey room and the single step staircase needed a bit of care after a few margaritas!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We absolutely loved our stay at Pueblito. Very comfortable room, great pool area, super friendly and helpful stuff. Will definitely stay there again upon next visit at holbox.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. I honestly can’t fault this place at all. The staff are amazing, the location, the place, the design of the rooms everything was incredible.

9.3 Excellent
Pros: We were the second time there. Location is good (close to the beach, not far from the center of the village) and it’s so quite that you can sleep very good at the hotel. Moreover so they have really good air conditions in the room. They are not placed directly at the bed and are very quite, what is comfortable and good to have a good sleep.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hotel with prefect rooms, modern and comfortable. Not far from the beach and restaurants. Friendly staff.
Cons: Wifi. Strange that restaurant area was only open for breakfast. It would be nice if thay opend the bar for drinks at the pool. Small hotel, but they want us to wear a bracelet to proof we stayed there. I didn't like that. Gastank under the sink in de bathroom didn't fit so the door under the sink didn't close properly. Maybe an idea to buy smaller gastanks? One towel each in the bathroom is not very much. Try to provide people with at least two towels each,
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pool, atmosphere, overall look, staff
Cons: There's sand everywhere. YOu can't avoid it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic family owned hotel - where the staff here are amazing. So helpful, helped set up the tours with them and it was sooo much cheaper! Hotel is on the pricier side, but I love the beach bed and chill area! Breakfast was really nice in the morning and it was 3-5 min walk (if that) from the beach. I loved Holbox - it was amazing!
Cons: Wifi and signal is terrible on the island, here it is just as bad. Your in Holbox - learn to switch off!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Hotel was beautifully decorated and very clean. The rooms were spacious and spotless with a very comfy bed! The pool and pool area were fab, very relaxing and chilled to hang out in. Really loved how it is tucked off the main strip but so close to the beach and a short walk to town.
Cons: Can't fault it really!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We spent four nights in this hotel and of course it is not cheap, but nothing ja cheap in Holbox (ne prepared) and we had a really special time. The hotel is very close to the center and the beach. It is not close to a main road so not loud. It is a really beuatiful hotel with a nice pool area we enjoyed to use every day. The breakfast is very delicious and you get to choose from a few options from the menue. The room is very clean and comfortable with a nice Terrasse outside. The staff ja super friendly and helped us to find nice restaurants and booked a snorkeling Tour for us. Since we got picked up at 7:50 am they Maße us breakfast to-go:).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very nice breakfast Location is great Friendly and helpful staff!
Cons: No bike rental services. A coffee machine in the room or lobby would be nice too.
7.0 Good
Pros: It was a very beautiful place to stay.
Cons: Construction starting from 7am to 8pm!!!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff was very helpful. Nice rooms and atrium with a pool. Delicious breakfast!
Cons: None
9.5 Excellent
Pros: - good located: next to the beach with nice beach bars and not far from the „town“. All to reach by feet - not too loud outside and good beds: it was the first location I can sleep very good -beautiful design and interior: we loved the style of the furniture, the room and the pool was great, moreover breakfast is delicious Moreover I had really to say that it was great that all guests take care about each other and don’t be loud! you didn’t hear the family with the kids or anything else. This is really cool because often in hotels the guests are really annoying
Cons: - only the wifi could be better. At the moment WiFi is just available at the pool area and connection is poor. But we heard that this is all over the island a problem

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved that place. Best location in Holbox on the best stretch of beach. Beautiful little hotel. 2 small but inviting pools. Good restaurant. Pretty rooms. Will definitely come back and stay there again!
Cons: The only things that could be improved would be 1) a small fridge in room for cold water and 2) better water pressure in the shower. Everything else was super!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Very good location almost right on the beach. Bed was amazingly comfortable. Loved the rough and rustic wood detailing to every piece of furniture.
Cons: It’s common for many hotels here not to have tv’s in the rooms but it was a bit annoying when you’re ill in bed and bored. The wifi was terrible, hardly worked.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the minimalist Mexican design of this hotel. I booked last minute, so I felt like my rate was way too high, but overall it was a great room, cleaning service daily was amazing, and hotel staff were very helpful organizing my transfer back to airport. Location is great, beach area is great. Restaurant overlooks the ocean.
Cons: Breakfast was just ok, and could be better.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel location, design, kindness of the staff, food, beach of course
Cons: Everything was perfect

10.0 Excellent
Cons: Location on the beach but far enough from center
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff people are very kind Small restaurant facility well attended Clean and nice rooms
Cons: The installations at the beach -Palapas- need to be more protected from Sun. Bar attention at the beach is not so efficient. Its conveniente include tables ate the beach for the beverages.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is amazing just in front the beach. I really love the pet friendly culture, not just in the property but in the entire island. I will highly recommend the hotel.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed our time at the hotel. It´s located about 5 minutes walk to the main beach. Room was clean and had everything you need (and the free coffee is nice). We also enjoyed the bikes, that were included for free - a good way to explore the island. Had a great time!
Cons: There´s no breakfast - but since there are so many little and nice restaurants on the island, this was no problem for us. Just grab a bike and find something nice within 5 to 10 minutes..
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable room with shelves for clothes. close to beach. Free bikes to travel around island.
Cons: Construction behind Ca;Rita directly out our window was annoying, hopefully they finish up.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great room, huge bed and very friendly and helpful staff.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room and location was good, 10min walking distance to town and 3 minutes to the beach. Staff was super friendly, very welcomed and they organised the transportation for us. Room was very clean and comfortable with AC and fan as well, coffee machine, fridge, safe and beach towels.
Cons: The wifi was not working for 3 days (we stayed 4 nights) and tv as well, there was just 1 chanel, maybe in connection with the wifi.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: the rooms was quite comfortable , clean, T.V. fan, air-condition all fine. location was 2 blocks form beach,
Cons: Gaby checked me .but, I was never told that caretaker is not located in the building. I was asked if I had the owner number and yes I did have his number . customer service was poor stayed for 3 nights and I never saw Gaby again, I did message the owner about wanting to use a bike , he never responded. My phone stopped working due to humity so I could not message the owner. their was no WIFI, Day of checkout came I left early and never saw anyone. also, when I paid Gaby she did not have change so she said ill give to you tomorrow, I never received my money . nor did she ever leave me a note on my door.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ca'Rita is a very nice location which is quiet and very close to the beach (2 min walk). Also the center with restaurants and bars can be reached quickly. The hotel is really pretty with many personal decoration details like an outside shower coming out of a shell or hammocks in the clean and quiet inner courtyard. We also really liked the free bike rental in order to get around the island, free coffee and water in the room and the free welcome fruit basket. The awesome yoga class on the rooftop with view on the sunset was another highlight of our stay. But the best thing about the hotel is Cinzia the host, who is really nice, caring and always there for you if anything is needed. We are really pleased to get to know her and her two cute dogs. We definitely want to come back.
Cons: The only thing we could mention was the toilet flush, which was sometimes stuck after flushing. Everything else was perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Cristine the host was incredibly helpful and kind, she assisted us with organising activities and taxis. There are roughly 6 rooms at the property, so it is generally very quiet and private. The rooms were large, very clean, with big beds and good A/C.
Cons: The wifi is slow (but this is more a symptom of wifi on Holbox in general) and there were no free bikes for us to use during our stay (which the advert had stated).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We definitely recommend Ca’Rita! The room was spacious, boutique style and lovely equipped- as well as the whole infrastructure. The owners gave us a warm welcome & were always at our disposal, giving precious Insider Tipps about the Island and helping us with transport organization (for our day trips to Cancun, Isla Mujeres etc). In less then 2 min walk you are at the beach and you can rent sun chairs at the spot you like the best. Whenever we’ll hit back Holbox - we’ll stay at Ca Rita!
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, lovely hosts all on a beautiful island.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice place, nice staff and owner. Would definitely stay there again.
Cons: There was some building work going on behind our room, maybe in the neighbours plot which could be noisy early on but I’m sure that’s a short term renovation.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice and confortable place to stay, good location in the center and friendly staff. Affordable for Holbox prices
Cons: Rooms on the ground floor are right next to the common seating area and one of the nights there was noise by other guests chatting after 12am which could be avoided by having the silence hours respected.
7.5 Good
Pros: a nice little hotel on a perfect Island. all was fine, nothing to complain. the Island is small so the Hotel is quite Close to the beach and Restaurants are near by.

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff with a bar upstairs that has a happy hour from 7-9pm
8.0 Excellent
Pros: There's great ambience in the hostel, there's a bar, they have yoga lessons, tours and all. The staff is nice, although distant at times, but nice regardless. The bar is great and it's a great place to meet people, even from outside the hostel. The location is great and 2 minutes away from the beach.
Cons: Just one toilet and inside the room, which was awkward, the shower was outside. You can't pay with card.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: So this hostel is really nice WiFi’s not great but that’s the island , breakfast isn’t included FYI . But the staff were so helpful and went out of there way to help me so would recommend it.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The location was great and the hammock area was very cool to hangout. The beach just near the hostel was relaxed and chilled. The evening games on offer were always fun and creative.
Cons: The bar staff were not friendly or welcoming at all to me or my friends. This was a real shame cos the bar area looked pretty cool but because of the staff we didnt really want to hangout there.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice hostel with a great atmosphere, especially at night in the bar area. No "forced fun" like at other places (e.g. Che hostel), it's a nice chilled social vibe. Comfortable beds with a large locker and personal plug sockets. 30 second walk to the beach and close to all the main places in Holbox
Cons: It's a great hostel but loses marks for the price. Too expensive for what it is. Lots of people I spoke to didn't even know about the kitchen, yoga or free drinking water which shows that sometimes some of the staff do a bad job at introducing the place.
7.5 Good
Pros: The location is just perfect! The bunk beds are really comfortable and solid! The vibe is great, you meet a lot of new people and the whole area is really colorful.
Cons: There is hardly any WiFi. The rooms can get really hot, since the AC is only turned on at night. The showers have really low pressure, so it takes a while to get all the shampoo out...
8.8 Excellent
Pros: All the things they organise in the evening!
Cons: N/a
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hostel is right in the center and one block away from the beach. They offer toure and free activities like yoga everyday and you can always ask them anything and they will help you. The hammocks are great and everything is really spacious. Everyone is very social and it’s easy to meet new people. I might return very soon - it’s an dangerous island, you don’t want to leave again :)
Cons: The WiFi is very bad but that a thing on the whole island.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We felt safe, liked the fact that the dorm rooms were only accessible by key and had big lockers (which both unfortunately isn’t the case in all hostels). It was nice that the dorm had it’s own bathroom en-suite. It was very clean and well thought through. They have a fun evening program every night and offer yoga classes in the mornings and evening which is very cool. The staff were all nice and fun without any exceptions. Always helpful and communicative. The wristbands you get when you stay at the hostel are a nice idea and a nice souvenir on top.
Cons: The only suggestion is that it would’ve been nice to have hand soap in the dorm bathroom for everyone to use. It would’ve been easier to manage than always having to take your own soap with you every time you need to use the bathroom or just wanting to wash your hands.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: All the staff was very helpful and friendly. They organized interesting and fun events at night, I Loved the salsa dancing night. The hostel is clean, safe, has comfortable kitchen and lounging areas. Definitely will recommend to stay at Tribu!.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The building design is amazing! Loved the pool the private pool and all the wood
Cons: We loved it all
6.3 Good
Pros: The location was good and the breakfasts were great!!
Cons: Reception staff could have been more friendly and helpful. The beach bar area was shut down for some reason.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very well designed hotel with a super cool layout. The breaksfasts were lovely. The staff helped us book massages and a golf cart and had nice recommendations for dining in town. Adults only made it a great place for us so the pool area was more tranquil and the general tone more relaxing.
Cons: Next to a big open lot that looking out upon it, looked messy and abandoned. It’s also a bit far from its own beach club which was not serviced on one of the days we were there and we weren’t sure why.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The design is exceptional
Cons: It just felt a little too snobby
8.8 Excellent
Pros: This boutique hotel is gorgeous. It’s architecture, a mix of modern and traditional Mayan village, invites you to relax and think of nothing else than recharge your energy. The rooms have a private pool for your intimate enjoyment and as an additional treat, they also have direct access to the main pool which is the central courtyard where all rooms meet. HEAVEN.
Cons: I chose Punta Caliza for it’s adult oriented policy. I don’t have children, I don’t like being around children and I avoid them as much as possible (I can barely stand my niece and nephew). To my surprise, there are 2 girls, in her early teens, staying at the hotel. They are loud and obnoxious. They giggle and giggle and giggle. Another kid would watch his shows on his phone with no headphones. ...and there went my peace of mind during their presence The private pool in the room needs more maintenance. It was dirty and I could not enjoy it.
7.0 Good
Pros: Fantastic design of the property. Food is OK but not spectacular.
Cons: Staff is generally slow and not very attentive - although some are really trying their best.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Best hotel ever!
Cons: Nothing! It was all perfect!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was not really caring and at check out rude when ask us to leave the place at Check out. Never seen something like that in other hotels . Food it’s not great
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly, helpful. The toiletries were plentiful and good quality. Breakfast was good. Room was clean. Bed was very comfortable. Hotel is walking distance to beach and downtown.
Cons: Hotel design is interesting but allows EVERY noise from adjoining rooms to carry. The common pool and individual plunge pool are too cold for swimming or wading. The beach ‘club’ is quite shabby and is seldom raked or cleaned - though the beach itself is beautiful. Drinks were twice the price of downtown establishments and were very standard (i.e. 200 Mex pesos for a very ordinary margarita = $14 Cdn). Internet Wi-Fi is mostly unavailable or painfully slow - had to use next door hotel’s Wi-Fi for email, etc. Absolutely NO internet availability in room. Driveway between hotel and beach and main road is in poor repair with deep muddy puddles. Again, had to walk through next door hotel to avoid mucky mess - not just on rainy days. Stark setting with no flowers or pretty gardens like most resorts/hotels. The hotel backs onto some sort of construction site and tents.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: We truly enjoyed our stay here. The building is beautiful, the rooms are cozy, and the pool area is gorgeous. The staff was really friendly and helpful with recommendations. Breakfast was delicious. There was a power outage during our stay, but they did everything they could to get the power back on as soon as possible. The beach is a short walk away and on the quieter side of the beach, which we loved. Would love to stay here again!
Cons: This did not bother us, but there were families with children staying there. Something to consider as it is advertised adults only.

8.8 Excellent
Pros: We liked the big room and English speaking stuff . Breakfast was very good (you can choose what you want from their menu ). We liked the cosmetics which were organic and local. We also got welcome drinks and cold beer :)
Cons: There was a problem with the pressure of water in the toilet. It was quite noisy at the night because of the bar in the hotel. The WiFi was sometimes unavailable .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was super nice and helpful and spoke English very well. Due to various delays we missed our first night and the were kind enough to not charge us! We luckily could book an extra night so our stay had the originally planned length. Location is great, right in the center. Whale shark tour we booked through the hotel was great. Free fresh beach towels, rides to partner beach club. Room cleaning was good and they left little good night cards with snacks.
Cons: The Internet is bad on the entire island. The WiFi connection is fine, but the network itself doesn't always have internet access due to the remote location. This will be the same for all hotels.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel, location, Staff and service were perfect! Everything just great!
Cons: Nothing.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff is very friendly and at the check in you get a cold drink. The room was very clean and you have a good bed there. The hotel is located very good and all is possible to reach by walking down the streets.
Cons: The air condition in the room is very loud and directly placed next to the bed. Moreover it’s not possible to have a “low” level at the fan of the air condition. The lowest level is still very strong. Moreover did we have a room over the reception. There is a door missing. When people at the reception you hear every word. The WiFi was compared with other hotels and locations in the island very bad!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Easily the best food and the best service we had during our entire three week holiday in Mexico! The staff could not have been more helpful or friendlier and the included breakfast was outstanding. We kept making promises to ourselves we would venture out for dinner but would alway end up having at least a few cocktails/starters at the hotel first because they were just so good! David the cocktail bartender is seriously talented!!!
Cons: Nothing!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We liked everything about Hotel Siesta Holbox: the nice and small rooms, the location quite central to Holbox, the great service, good food and most and for all the people working there! You can really feel that this is not one of those anonymous hotels for mass tourism as you can find them in Cancun... In contrast, you can connect to the people working here and feel how devoted they are. Breakfast was included in our stay and the restaurant staff treated us by no means less warmheartedly than other (paying) guests. The food we got was delicious: for example the french toasts and various kinds of omelette we had for breakfast were better than what we had in previous hotels in Yucatan. Same for the margaritas! Instead of a huge buffet Siesta offers a few selected dishes that they make with love. During the day they offer to take you to a beach club out of town, where they reserve hammocks for you with no additional cost. The place is perfect for children with very shallow waters and clean white sand. You can also book other tours via the hotel if you ask at the reception but they never tried to talk us into booking anything - we always felt welcome with our questions and got great recommendations. If we ever returned to Holbox we would for sure stay at Hotel Siesta!
Cons: Rooms for 4 people are rather small, but that's the style in Holbox and we were aware beforehands based on the pictures
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I loved the location! The staff was amazing, so very helpful all the time. The breakfast that was included was delicious with lots of great choices. The shuttle to the beach club was very well appreciated.
Cons: Not having a fridge in the room so we can keep cold water would be the only thing missing. everything else was just perfect!
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Centre of town Beautiful, big rooms Staff organised a buggy to transfer us to the off-site beach club daily
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff, tasty selected free breakfast menu, close to Holbox centro. Quiet at night.
Cons: Perhaps a little bit overpriced.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Hotel Siesta was the best stay of our whole trip in Mexico. Staff thinks of all the small details such as cleaning the rooms twice a day, providing us lunch packages because we couldnt make use of the breakfast due to early departure. And the rooms are very clean!
Cons: Nothing

7.5 Good
Pros: - Room is exactly like pics - beautiful, big and clean; - mini fridge in the room works well - great AC - TV with really good speakers - Very close to the beach and "downtown" - Toiletries - good quality
Cons: - There are no facilities in the hotel. Even the yoga room is paid (and it's not cheap). Considering the price you pay, they should provide something for free. - Staff - One of the worst experiences in my life. I travel A LOT since I was very little and this definitely will make me not return to this place. I booked my room less than 2 hours before my arrival. I wasn't sure if I was going to stay 1 or 2 nights, so, by mistake (with 2 windows open) I booked the 2 nights. Well, the 1st receptionist was nice and explained to us that next day I could talk to the manager and see about the refund but "should be ok if I talk to her early morning and explain that I arrived late the day before". The receptionist next day said she was the manager (I still cannot believe) and she was absurdly RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL to me, saying things like "You don't even pay for the deposit that we asked before you arrived, you paid everything here, this was already an exception " (what?! How could I deposit if 1 hour later I was there?! No sense...) and, in a nice way, I asked for a refund. After a while, She said that she is going to refund 50% of the 2nd night. I try to ask for a bit more, once I booked later and I saw MANY people coming after booking last minute but her arguments were never "I am sorry we can't" but "you don't know how hotel business works (!!)" "I am already being very flexible to you offering some refund" "Go read booking.com rules first (!!!)" "the receptionist from last night don't know how the business here works (?!)" and more. Yes, in the beginning, I was very calm and waiting to talk to the manager and/or the owner but she was rude from the first sentence that came out of her mouth. There was a guy that works for the hotel too and he was ridicule rude as well.
8.3 Excellent
Cons: No Swimmingpool
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice, clean little hotel. Room is spacious and AC works well. Staff was very polite and helpful.
Cons: I don't have anything bad to say.. the internet could have been more reliable and a mini fridge in the room would have been nice... That's it..
7.5 Good
Pros: Breakfast is quite good , and the coffee as well. Helpful staff Close to beach ( one block) Hammock in the room
Cons: The bar across the hotel, have music every night until 12:30 so not great for relaxation if you got rooms 10 or 11 There is a lamp hanging on the room from a branch that is very intrusive and even dangerous as it is next to the fridge. I will suggest to cut the branch or place the mini fridge somewhere else.

Cons: Wifi on the entire island is bad, including on this place.

Palapas del Sol - Holbox - Building

8.8 Excellent (482 reviews)
Overview Reviews
There are many people who look at a Mexican vacation on the Yucatan peninsula as the epitome of a trip to relax and unwind. The island of Holbrox, located just off the peninsula takes this concept to a much more extensive level. With the white sand beaches boasting some of the best ocean exploration in the world along with world class amenities, guests will find that there’s relaxing, and then there’s what you can do at Palapas del Sol. Palapas del Sol is a 19-room boutique hotel on Holbrox Island. This hotel is oceanfront, meaning you can wake up and promptly head right out to the ocean. That’s not all though, you can relax on hammocks or do a whole bunch of other activities. Some of the things you can do include bike rentals, boat tours, flamingo tours, and much more. Because the island is set apart, it is also much safer than other Yucatan resorts. Eating on Holbrox Island is a delight as well. There are plenty of amazing restaurants and one of the best parts of the experience is the food is all locally sourced. The on-site restaurant has a host of different dishes to choose from and includes items such as lobster that’s caught right off the waters of the island. Furthermore, you can enjoy a great experience with a dinner on the beach provided by the hotel’s restaurant. Staying on Holbrox Island is something that sophisticated travelers enjoy doing, and their go-to hotel is the Palapas del Sol.

Pros: Facilities style, the beach, welcome drink/food, breakfast.
Cons: Edgard was great to welcome us but the staff at the counter was ok but could have been a bit nicer.

Pros: Everything
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The island is a super calm and relaxed place. The hotel wasn‘t crowded at all and located directly at the beach!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: the location (beach) was amazing - the room and the staff also. Good cocktails and super breakfast. We will go back :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a gem by the emerald waters of the Yucatan. Small, quiet and lovely. The staff are kind and perfectly not overly attentive. If you want loud music, poolside service and to slurp down as many margaritas as possible this is not for you. If you want the dignity of getting up and walking 20 feet to get your own beer at the beachside bar - this is for you (and me). Delicious food. No reason to leave Palapas del Sol for anything except Whale Sharks.
Cons: Ok, a bit of construction noise but people do have to work for a living so go take a walk on the white powder sand beach and chill.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Packed us boxed lunch the evening before as we were heading off on an early morning excursion. Room was spacious with comfy beds and beautiful views. The palapas on the beach were perfect and included full drink/food service from the hotel bar.
Cons: Room was lacking a closet to hang clothing and could use more accessible mirrors. The room was very spacious but made it more of a challenge to cool down with AC.

6.8 Good
Pros: Very good location
Cons: Very poor staff
4.3 Okay
Pros: Location is nice but there are plenty of other hotels alongside this coastline. Beach okay with wooden furniture to relax. Small pools and some beds to be in the shade here and there. Bikes for free use. Restaurant staff kind.
Cons: Room was disappointing! Horrible smell. Humidity, not cleaned well. Bathroom outdated and poor. Shower with hair on the floor. No comfort in the room. All furniture was poor. Bed okay, but very short. I had booked 2 single double beds and only got 1. So they brought in a childrens single bed for my son, but it was right under the AC so no way to sleep with the noise and cold. Room full of musquitos so all night trying to kill them because you were eaten by them otherwise. They come in under the doors and windows and through roof and since there was no musquitonet above the bed it was a never ending fight. Dinner was not great. Octopus was like chewing gum. You could not sit outside with all musquitos . Inside okay. Breakfast buffet (included) was restricted to some fruits and few dry rolls with jam. We ordered pancakes and eggs from the menu (additional cost) and that was fine. Staff showed unfortunately no feelings of understanding and not willing to refund anything. We had booked for a week, but left the day after. They pretended as if hotel was fully booked whilst there were hardly any guests around. Website images give the idea of a luxury hotel, but it is not. So be aware of what you are looking and willing to pay for. Many cleaners working at the compound so little privacy. Even at night some were hanging out in front of our room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything .....It’s a special place the people at the property are friendly and helpful and the location of the property is perfect for the island 10 minutes away from the center on an taxi golf cart.... can’t wait to go back next year
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Great location and very friendly staff. The onsite restaurant is good but expensive. Beach bar has a great crew. Pools and shared spaces are great.
Cons: The decor in the rooms was really lacking and some parts of the facilities seemed a little dilapidated. The location of the hotel is a two-edged sword. It's great to be on a remote part of the beach, but you are really isolated. It's difficult to make your way to town for a cheaper meal or some variety, or to buy supplies.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The ambiance and location were supurb. The Staff was excellent. The breakfast was perfect in a beautiful location, and delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Isla Holbox.
Cons: I had no complaints
7.5 Good
Pros: The island was nice, exotic and not overrun with tourists. The hotel facility was good, gave that ambience of being a bit way out from the city and off in the wild. Staff basically very helpful and kind. Food was good and they did accommodate my wife's strict nutrinional needs.
Cons: Fundamentally the visit got overshadowed by a massive storm and flood. Granted, act of a higher power. But the hotel had no preparations, no communications - there was a bunch of people running around like headless chicken, dealing with the crisis at the moment. Very much a chaos - we received a bad sandwich and a can of coffee for the night. When we checked out the next day three days earlier than booked (given there was a lot of damage and debris on the property) nobody said a word like 'sorry your experience was bad, please give us another chance next year' - the whole thing was very odd
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location and style of the hotel were the selling point and they did not disappoint! Emily Rejun Garcia at reception was friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable!! She definitely added a plus to our stay!!
Cons: The food at the restaurant was not necessarily the greatest! We only had dinner there once on the first night and it really didnt meet our expectations, maybe we should have gave it a second try...
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean rooms, beautiful view. Right on the beach.
7.5 Good
Pros: I'm not a breakfast eater but people really enjoyed the food. Fruit was fresh. Bar outside was great.
Cons: Water pressure was really weak and the hot water took awhile but I expected it. Instead I took quick cool showers. Sometimes I like it, sometimes I didn't.
7.5 Good
Pros: The place is beautiful and probably one of the best since the hotel is last in line so less people on its beach. The staff is very nice, very helpful, very nice The restaurant is great
Cons: Wifi unavailable. Only at reception. Unacceptable for 2019. When you pay so much for a room you should be able to have wifi for free in the entire hotel
