6.7 Good
Pros: Lovely comfortable room and bed. Food was good and tasty.
Cons: Restaurant lacked any atmosphere with staff relaying tablecloths for breakfast as you ate dinner. Music choice played through the restaurant 'walk on' was strange. Croissants on menu for breakfast but not available. 2 double gin and tonic £29, if we had seen a drinks menu we wouldn't have paid that much !
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Excellent hotel and in a very good location for everything you need. The staff were very friendly. The room was excellent and very quiet.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A very comfortable modern suite spread over two floors. The food was excellent and staff extremely helpful. We particularly liked the arrangement for delivering luggage directly to the hotel and vice versa on return to the harbour. Overall a very pleasant stay and would certainly be happy to return.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Roger was Fantastic. Food was lovely.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Everything we encountered was first rate - food was excellent - staff friendly and accommodating. For us the location was great and we will hopefully go back.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place and great staff
Cons: Nothing
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Good breakfasts - well cooked - especially liked the duck eggs. Reception staff Kaye and Head Manager Roger were excellent, friendly and helpful with wide knowledge of the islands.
Cons: Being unable to order a drink in the sitting rooms unless it was tea or coffee - you were asked to go to the bar. Service at breakfast was rather slow especially when all available staff were attending to the requirements of a large party.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The helpful attitude with all questions.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff are second to none, excellent could not be more helpful
Cons: Nothing that we could fault at all

Pros: Views...and very helpful staff. Delicious food
Cons: A few hidden extras...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The view the cleanliness staff
Cons: Food extremely expensive which you'd expect. If you like your full English don't expect English breakfast not very nice I'm afraid and there is not a lot of meals to choose from if you don't like seafood your in trouble
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful. The room was very comfortable with great facilities. The location was fantastic.
Cons: The restaurant was a little disappointing. The food did not match its claims of being the best on the island and was very overpriced. The pub down the road served better food at a cheaper price.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything, it was a beautiful setting, fantastic food, comfy bed, friendly staff, it is a wonderful location so peaceful and unspoiled
Cons: not enough time spent there!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location and an amazing place to stay. Reception staff are very helpful in getting you around the island, meeting at the quay and with activities. Special call out to Maher, and Ian and the other drivers who are very helpful and attentive.
Cons: The restaurant and bar staff don’t seem to care enough about guests, which is a real shame because other staff are so good. Also the Spa was closed on one of our two days there, which should be more clearly advertised so that guests can plan ahead.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Superb location right on the beach, very quiet spot, if you are looking for a tranquil place then this is it. Bear in mind that there is an additional journey from St Mary's, main arrival terminal of about 40 mins & £10 each. The pub up the road (Seven Stones) is great and the beached are wonderful. The hotel is first class although beware if you are not dog lovers, like us, there are plenty of them around to annoy you.
Cons: Too many dogs and the lounge seating areas are not that useable. The crossing on the Scillonian is awful.... take the plane
7.9 Good
Pros: Beautiful located with an amazing view to the other islands.
Cons: The reception wasn’t very helpful with organizing activities. It felt more we disturb them with our questions about activities and ideas. As it’s not easy to understand to get around, we felt that the reception could be more supportive. Further the music at the restaurant was just too loud. Loud lounge music for breakfast was what we were looking for at a quiet hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful position, the entire staff team were superb
Cons: Meals were too expensive, the island shuts down out of season which is quite short sighted given the amount of visitors still around, better organisation around bringing kayaks and equipment over
7.9 Good
Pros: Staff, location, service all excellent.
Cons: Bathroom a bit dated. Too many dogs
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Superb location on the beach at St Martins. Comfortable room and bed. Would have liked sea view but nothing available. Good breakfast. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Seven Stones Inn is only a few minutes walk away and we preferred to eat there in the evening.
Cons: We arrived on the 5:15 pm flight from Exeter and the boat which was supposed to meet us didn't turn up. Hotel said it had been booked and they would contact Tresco Jet Boats - heard nothing further. Luckily they was an alternative. We weren't attracted to the dinner menu - preferring to eat at the pub each evening.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, comfy bed, serviced regularly and kept beautifully clean. Food exceptional
Cons: Couldn't fault it
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Unique property and very special location. Great staff food facilities.
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect - beautiful views of St Mary's harbour and the other islands. The staff were all very friendly, professional and helpful
Cons: Nothing to say here - everything was as good as it could be
9.6 Excellent
Pros: good range of breakfasts
5.4 Okay
Pros: Food in the hotel restaurant was excellent. Superb choice, very well cocked and presented with pride.
Cons: Rooms were a little dated although were in keeping with an old Castle. Bit like staying with your Grandma.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: History combined with character and comfort- what’s not to love?!
Cons: Had to have two cold showers due to hot water running out - water pressure a bit poor too.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff, the beautiful sea views, the room, the food - all absolutely 10/10! Every single member of staff at the Star Castle are welcoming and incredibly friendly and helpful. The restaurant food is out of this world, and you can choose to eat in the conservatory or in the main restaurant inside the castle itself. We also love the Dungeon Bar, which is open most of the day and into the evening - drinks prices in there were reasonable too. Sarah was very helpful in booking the Scillonian travel for us.
Cons: I would prefer to be able to book room only. I paid for B&B as there is no room only option, but we only had breakfast one of the six days that we stayed as we tend not to be very hungry in the mornings straight after waking up.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, the hotel is very comfortable and the staff excellent. In addition the food is memorable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location outstanding, beautiful character building and very comfy beds and room. Pool excellent
Cons: Price is very high indeed but realise that access on Scilly makes costs high
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect for me. Private separate room where I could leave my dog when I went for meals or a trip to the shops. Nothing too much trouble. Food excellent . I don't think the location can be beaten. You can relax or you can walk miles or go on boats to other islands. Everyone very friendly and very dog friendly.
Cons: The only thing I would have liked is a choice of some fresh fruit at breakfast, like bananas or apples for example. There was tinned fruit. Also a choice of,non dairy milk would be good, ie almond or non dairy and maybe gluten free bread. However I didn't have every meal in the hotel so was able to vary my diet accordingly.
The Atlantic - Isles of Scilly - Bedroom

8.7 Excellent (239 reviews)
Overview Reviews
Located in Isles of Scilly, The Atlantic is by the ocean, within a 5-minute walk of Town Beach and The Garrison and Star Castle. The front desk is staffed during limited hours.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff so welcoming and friendly. Good location. Comfortable beds and pillows.
7.1 Good
Pros: It is in a good location and the room was nice if rather over-priced. The waiting staff were very pleasant and gave our dog a sausage for breakfast.
Cons: Unfortunately the person on reception was not friendly or very helpful during our brief stay.. I booked supper in the pub but they had no record of our booking. The pub food is quite good but basic and was a set menu with no variation. The breakfast was again pretty basic. We are not young but the clientele is very elderly. I would not describe this as a hotel - it is a pub with rooms. There are no facilities e.g. residents' lounge that I could see. The entrance area is cramped. We would not stay here again.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location is superb - right by the shore with easy access to town and quay. Also convenient for early morning travel to airport. Very lively pub with good, if somewhat dated, facilities. Much of the premises are located in conjoined cottages and thus very many changes of level to get to bedrooms. En suite bathroom newly re-furbished and excellent. Bedroom was fine for "room in the roof" and very impressed that sash window worked perfectly - quite unusual. Choice and quality of food good Staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: A little pricey for the accommodation provided but then Isles of Scilly are.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A busy hotel/pub very fast, friendly service right in the centre of the town so ideally situated. We had some lovely meals.
Cons: There really wasn’t anything not to like
10.0 Excellent
Pros: everything had fantastic time
7.9 Good
Pros: Comfortable and attractive room in superb position.
Cons: Uninteresting dinner menu. The room price was almost double the price of an admittedly smaller one we are about to go to in a delightful little hotel in a nice part of Cenral London!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely, really spacious and comfortable with an amazing view. The food in the restaurant was very good, and the staff were all extremely helpful.
Cons: The breakfast didn't meet our expectations having eaten in the restaurant - maybe fresh bakers bread rather than factory white sliced for example?
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The bar area, food and staff were all great. Toby was friendly and welcoming. Breakfast food was good but shame about the service. We would visit again but go to the Kavorna for breakfast and eat other meals on the outside bar terrace with new comfy seating.
Cons: The service let down the whole experience. The waitress moved us from table to table 4 times! There was a talk in the dining area and we were not made welcome, so pushed into the unprepared bar area.
