Nothing was bad, nice staff, clean room, gorgeous view, many options at breakfast. Pleased with the overall experience. Wifi was consistent and fast. Other guests were slightly rude at check in (as I was waiting in the lobby, standing back from the desk, waiting for the man in front of me to be helped, another man just walked in, looked at me, went straight to the desk and, interrupted the transaction ahead of me) management apologized immediately, and asked the man to wait. Also, no ice machine close to lobby. Right next to the Savannah HWY, but couldn't hear it in my room while sleeping. Again, nothing scary/unsafe/wrong, just a nice, local, budget motel.
The only good thing was the woman who checked us in at night. This hotel is filthy! The bathroom had mold in the corners which is disgusting. My daughter would not take a shower because the bathroom was so dirty. The room smelled. Fortunately I had a new air freshener in the car that I had just purchased. We travel quite a bit; this is the worst hotel we've ever been in. We arrived late at night so we were unable to cancel our reservations and find another hotel nearby. We did not feel safe at all at this hotel, either. Someone should visit these hotels before you offer them on your website.
I was pleased with the apperance of the hotel, and also very pleased with the room. It was very nice above average for a hotel room and for the money for the one night you couldnt beat it! updating the outside apperance of the hotel would benefit them.
Quiet and comfortable even though there were a lot of people there that night. The AC worked great. Staff was pleasant and helpful; check in and out was easy and quick. I would stay here again. The bathroom needs updated; commode/shower curtain/tub were a bit dingy and old, but the water pressure was fantastic! TV remote was missing, but they brought one to us when we asked. The key card had to be changed 2x before it finally worked. The Wi Fi did not work in our 2nd floor room. The breakfast was not good; food quality was very poor!
The price was reasonable and it had wifi. It was quiet and close to the city of Charleston. There were no coffee pots in the room and the television was out dated--no flat screen nor DVD. It lacked a decent refrigerator and the complimentary breakfast was not worth getting up for. Although, I'd stay there again if I were to visit Charleston.
Chrisanthia night manager was fantastic. Bathroom needs updating and carpets cleaned
the price is great for the Charleston area. Our room was dirty, the fabric on the chair was very dirty and worn. Dirt marks on door, baseboards, walls, Rooms are very worn out and need a new makeover.
It's far enough down 17 to avoid most of the traffic noise, although it isn't gone altogether. Value for the money for Charleston is fantastic and is the best bed I've ever slept on in a hotel. I highly recommend staying here if you're on a tight budget but don't want a dirty roach motel. Some of the appliances are a little outdated and their cable is through Comcast and it is terrible.
Staff was rude. Didn't know what they were doing. Kept blaming other staff for errors. Oh and there was a pile of toe nail clippings on the bedside table when we arrived.
The staff was very nice. They let us check in early since it took less time to travel than I thought it would. They also let us check out an hour later when we were having problems. Oh, their waffle maker is fantastic at breakfasts.
For the money I spent I thought it was a great deal. Only 15 minutes from downtown and from Folley Beach. The staff was pleasent and I felt welcomed. Very helpfull on finding attractions and points of interest. The hotel could use a few updates. Bathroom was very small. Smoking right outside of rooms was not very pleasant.
The staff was nice. The landscaping was nice. I didn't like all of the strange people sitting outside their room smoking. You pull up to go in and everyone outside their room would sit and smoke. Honestly it felt really creepy all the people that sits outside and stares at you. It's not smoke free when you have to keep walking by smokers. The motel appeared to be an extended stay. My room was very dirty under the bed and my av unit cover was off and looked very dirty and molding. I suggest management takes a look at how it makes their hotel look when you pull in at night and your place looks like a half way house.
The motel 6 was value for money. The bed was on the soft side. Room was clean, comfortable. Motel is near the city, and there are number of fast food restaurants on the spot. If you are planning to visit Charleston, but have a tight budget, this is a place to consider.
They had a pooland it was clean. The rooms were pretty clean also We were there for only one night . We met friends at our motel to start the evening and were very displeased it took us over an hour to check in. Then when we got to room our keys didn't work. This put a damper on our limited time. The whole process took 2 hours. Small shower, no fridge, hard bed. We wouldn't go back. Manager not supportive to staff.
The location was great. A/C was very noisy. Only could run it when I was not in the room. Luckily the temp. wasn't very hot during my stay. Needed to use a computer to print out my boarding pass and had to go to a Kinkos as this motel didn't even have one available to use. Front desk clerk refused to allow me to use hers. . even after 8pm.
Bed said queen... it was a full. Room said it had a microwave but ours did not. Wifi had a charge per 24 hour time slot. Tv had 19 hour channels
allowed dogs, easy access to and from, restaurants nearbt after first night, got in late and realized maid cleaned bathroom and did not leave clean towels. We had to get dressed and go to office to pick up as they would not bring down. After 2nd night, maid did nothing so we again had to go get towels and pile 2 days of dirty towels in corner
Bed was old
It was a place to stay, front desk person was nice, the location is good. Close to most things. When we arrived one of the cleaning staff was in a rage mad at the front desk worker. We got keys and went to the room but the key didn't work, went back and they reprogrammed the keys for us and we went to the room again but they still didn't work. This time though, a very angry guest pounded on the door from the inside - we had been given someone else's room! We ran back to the front, we left just in time to see the guest charge out looking for a fight, luckily we were back in the car already. Back to the desk where we got a new room and finally got to get settled after all that mess. When we got there the fridge was unplugged so it was not immediately cold. The mattress was hard and sunken in the middle. the bedspread had cigarette burns. This is basically what I expect for around $29 a night, except we paid closer to $80 with taxes. Wish we had made plans a little sooner and a better hotel had been available to us. I will not stay at the motel 6 again.
Clean room and lovely staff, very friendly
Close to downtown The bed was sunk in and made it impossible to sleep.
Allowed pets, very clean and nice, nice pool, hot coffee every morning and weekly/monthly rates available!! Could use more updated televisions (which they are currently doing) along with Business/Internet/Computer access which they did NOT have.
Pool was clean. The hotel rooms were easy access. The hotel was not clean.
the staff were very friendly in the office. the coffee in the am was great too. pool looked nice but didn't get to use it. waffle house located right in front of hotel had great pecan waffles and hashbrowns. very close to the airport. the laundry facilities were old and one dryer wasn't working. Stains were left on our clothes after drying. nonsmoking room smelled like smoke. seemed like a rough crowd at the hotel. police were checking to see if cars in parking lot were registered.
The Staff was spot on with anything you needed. The rooms were a decent size. I was nice to see that there was click hard wood flooring instead of that old dirty carpeting that some hotels have. Yeah sure thae area is not the best area but, really is that the hotel's fault? I don't believe so. Yes, it would be nice to have some personal items if you forget them like shampoo, conditioner, a razor, and a toothbrush.....
The rooms looked newly remodeled with a very modern, chic look to them. The room we stayed in had two full beds. There were hard wood floors, which look great and are probably cleaner, however, it made the room feel too loud and not as 'cozy.' The area didn't seem too bad. There were police around the hotel at night to patrol, but not because of any disturbances, which made it feel more safe. The office staff was great! Very concerned for their guests comfort. They called after we checked in to make sure we didn't need anything else. There was plenty of food close by and we took an uber ride to the venue we were visiting for $10 there and $10 back. There was no microwave or mini fridge, which weren't a necessity, but would've been nice to have. The only thing we didn't really like were the wood floors that made it a little less comfortable and 'cozy' feeling.
Everything was really great. Cheap room for a one night stay during traveling, staff was super nice, and the room was perfectly clean. It was small, but I expected it to be. We're young and just needed somewhere clean and safe to stay, and this was perfect. Don't let reviews of older couples complaining about things not being "nice enough" scare you to not getting the cheapest hotel and saving your money. I wasn't expecting room service and a maid. I just wanted to sleep so we could get up and continue traveling the next day. Wifi wasn't free.....that wasn't fun, but that's okay.
It is conveniently llocated - close to Waffle House and the interstate - and one of the cheapest in town - pet friendly. Tiny room, clientelle is mostly the criminal element, the fact that there is a North Charleston policeman apparently assigned to the property who is "the security" the front desk calls when there is a complaint speaks volumes! "Working Girl" in the room next door woke us all up at 3:44 am screaming obscenities and pounding on the door for the occupant of her room to "Open the #### door!" Front desk referred the problem to the policeman who evidently addressed the situation.
Convenience, staff The room was filthy. There was a lot of rif raf hanging out partying outside our room, loud noise.
I liked the rate I did not feel completely safe with the clientel that was staying there. It would also be nice to have coffee makers in the room rather than having to walk to the office for coffee.
The clerk booked us in just to never be seen again. Very small room with wood paneling and moldy smell. I am guessing that the bathroom was at least 40 years old and has never been renovated. Moldy shower curtain and torn bath towels. There was no privacy/security lock on the inside.,The clerk booked us in just to never be seen again. Very small room with wood paneling and moldy smell.
