Pros: Mary runs a home away from home. It's a beautiful house that is immaculately clean and extremely comfortable. Mary is a very likeable woman who went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. We were at a function in the local hotel where we left our car for the night but the following morning Mary insisted that she drive us back up to save us having to walk with bags. I recommend this family friendly b&b and we will definitely be back in the future.

Pros: College Hill House is a little piece of luxury and tranquility. Stayed here for only one night and I wish it was for forever. The house is amazing the style of decor is bang on so beautiful. The outside areas are stunning so well looked after and the gardens are beautiful to look at or even sit in for the evening. The room was generously sized with a very comfortable bed. Also had a TV which was nice to have of you wanted to watch something just before going to sleep. Strange to praise a shower but it's worth a mention to say is was great. The breakfast in the morning was all homemade with fruits, cereals, ham, cheese selection and then a home cooked breakfast to whatever you wanted. Absolutely delicious especially the homemade compote and scones. There's too many great things about this B&B that I'm probably forgetting things. If you want an amazing stay in Slane but somewhere hidden but not too far out of reach College Hill is definitely worth it. Would be back in the morning if I could. Thank you for our short but very sweet stay. Ashley & Cormac

The room was lovely and clean, and big, towels were so fluffy in the bathroom and they had even left us some shower gel in the shower (we didn't need it but it was good in case you had forgotten). The bed was sooooo comfortable aswell! Breakfast the next morning was beautiful. I had the scrambled eggs and smoked salmon. They did have continental bits and pieces and cereal but so glad we didn't partake because the cooked breakfast alone was more than enough. Plenty of space to park the car too and gates were closed in the evening too which was good.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Ross Castle B&B in Mountnugent was a real treat! Wonderful hosts and the grounds were lovely. This old castle tower contained an eclectic array of decor to add charm and whimsy. The rooms were comfortable and gave us a feel of the old world. We stayed in the O'Reilly Room and it was spacious with our own ensuite. Very comfortable! We also attended a banquet with other guests and were treated to quite a feast. The food (dinner and breakfast) were outstanding. Surprisingly, out of the 10 guests, 6 of us were from Wisconsin (and none of us couples knew one another). Pretty crazy considering we were in another country and in a very remote rural area; small world! I highly recommend a stay here.
Cons: Difficult to locate, GPS did not assist. With that being said; it was part of the adventure to get there. What an experience driving the rural roads.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful location and atmosphere, good breakfast and wonderful hosts.
Cons: We requested dinner when we stayed over, unfortunately the date got mixed up so we had to get dinner elsewhere. Also the place is haunted ;).

Pros: Everything :) Real castle stay experience, great antique furniture everywhere what enhences the atmosphere. We couldn't spot any gohsts though ;) Spotless clean and delicious breakfast! Hope to be back soon :)

Pros: The innkeeper, Jackie, and her husband, Richard, were fantastic! They were welcoming, knowledgeable about the castle and surrounding area, and very accommodating (Jackie even helped me figure out when and where I could catch a bus to Galway). The banquet dinner was delicious, and the rooms were beautiful. I would stay there again in a heartbeat!
Cons: It was a little difficult to locate as the Garmin GPS did not recognize the location.

Pros: Very comfortable room and en suite, WiFi available throughout the cottage/house. Very clean and tidy, beautiful views and ideal for Clonabreany House. Great breakfast. A storm had caused a power cut to the area over night and despite that we were hosted impeccably.

Pros: The house is spotless! Breakfast was lovely, a proper feed. The garden is beautiful, doves flying about and little birds chirping away. Flowers blooming. Man about the house was very friendly and a good laugh.
Cons: Staff lady seemed very busy when she showed us our room, even though the place was empty. Walls were paper thin, I heard snoring from another room and an entire phone conversation. There's no tv in the room to help drown out the sound. No kettle to make tea, we had to walk to the service station to get some.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: From the minute our family arrived at The Rectory, to the moment we pulled away, we were amazed by the hospitality, generosity, friendliness, personal touches, and attentiveness. While the accommodations and amenities were truly wonderful, and the town of Trim is definitely a must-see, the owner, Sandy, was absolutely the best part of our experience at The Rectory! She is charming, gracious, personable and SO funny!!! We can't say enough about how much we enjoyed meeting her. She treated us like old friends from the start. We felt extremely welcome and comfortable during our entire stay and wish we lived closer so we could enjoy her company more often. She is the ultimate hostess and went WAY beyond to ensure we had everything we needed and more! Our room was very clean, spacious and elegant. After 2 weeks on the road, we especially appreciated having access to the backyard and the separate upstairs sitting room/kitchen area to relax and not have to eat out again for dinner. (There's a great little grocery store across the street). We enjoyed an easy walk to the city center and explored the Cathedral, castle, and the river walk out to the ruins at Newtown Abby, which were stunning. The next morning, before we headed to the airport, Sandy treated us to an incredible breakfast in the tea room downstairs. (Her homemade Guinness bread and scones are so delicious!) It was quite a feast and we felt like royalty! Our drive back in to Dublin was easy and took under an hour. The Rectory in Trim was the best place to spend our last night in Ireland. My husband, kids and I all agree it was the most favorite overnight stay of our entire vacation.
Cons: Not a thing.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fabulous accommodation. Rooms were beautifully furnished. As a family with two young children The Old Rectory was perfect for us. Breakfast was self service in an adjoining room which was stocked with everything we could possibly need for our stay, including a huge flat screen tv with Sky and Netflix, a large recliner couch and a fully equipped kitchen and dining area. This room, and all the facilities within, were available to us at any time during our stay. Outside there were badminton rackets and a net, swings, a picnic/ outdoor eating area and a garden to play in. I would definitely recommend the Old Rectory for families travelling with young children- it was a totally stress free experience. Our host was extremely friendly, welcoming and generous with her time. We will definitely be back!

Pros: Unfortunately we did not get to sample the breakfast, but the spread available looked magnificent, and I really wish we had been up for breakfast! The house was clean and tidy, it served our needs adequately, and is a B&B I would happily book again if the need arose. The lady who greeted us was so lovely and welcoming, and was again lovely at check-out the next day. Payment was as easy as anything, no issues at all. I would happily recommend this B&B. Adequate parking facilities and in a nice quiet area, you wouldn't know it was just off the main Dublin road.
