The staff were very friendly and helpful. My family got stranded due to car trouble, and they managed to find us a room quickly with a 10% discount. The free breakfast was very nice. Right next to the beach. Excellent location. Very close to Jockey's Ridge and the Wright Brothers Memorial. Would definitely stay here again.
Staff friendly and helpful Great location
Rundown hotel
It was on the beach
Room needs updating, It had a smell. Room was not cleaned. Had to call they desk brought fresh towels. Breakfast was limited, hard bagels.
Poor service, poor facilities
Upon arrival the outdated look isn't bad, but then the young brunette chick with an accent gives you attitude, dirty looks and tells you she "isn't sure" when your room will be ready after it is PAST check-in....so already off to a bad start! Then they fail to call you when your room finally is ready—when they tell you to your face they will call you the moment your room is cleaned—and you're put in the WRONG room: a smoking, pet-friendly room; neither of which was mentioned on the website or requested and they wanted to try to charge EXTRA for those "special rooms"..... Allergy attack immediately upon entering the pet friendly/smoking room we hadn't reserved and major attitude to get the room we had reserved. More dirty looks from young brunette girl with accent. Also asked if I could find a restroom or changing room to change into a swimsuit so we could hang on the beach until our room was ready and young brunette with accent said "not possible" but I could "go to bar across street"....so towel change in parking lot then come to see a changing room and shower room.
Almost everything besides the location
Dirty, falling apart, however good location.
Location. It's an oceanfront hotel. However not all the rooms are overlooking the beach. Has BBQ/picnic area. Outdoor pool.
We booked a room with a queen bed & we were given a full size bed in a handicap accessible room. The bed itself was complete mush, we didn't sleep very well & our backs were killing us. The staff was rude & mostly barely English speaking foreigners. (What's the point of that!) The room was horribly dirty, we saw a roach & they wouldn't move us to another room. I could look past every other issue except roachs!!! The property overall is very un-kept and it's falling apart & the few coats of paint for appearances just aren't working anymore. Costumer service is very lacking. The full-time employees, aside from those who are there on some summer foregin exchange work visa program (who are useless) look miserable. Not a single smile on anyone's face. It's sad. Thankfully, the property is on the beach! If you choose to stay here you must upgrade/request a room directly on the beach. I was able to peek into one of those rooms during cleaning hours & wow those rooms are in much better condition! However, I only peeked in for a sec., beware of the awful beds & room dwelling roaches.
Overall it was great for the money! I can't say enough about the helpful stage! They were great! For an older beachfront facility it was clean and ok shape. Unfortunately the weather was very cold and rainy while we were there so we couldn't enjoy as much of the facilities as we would like. I would go again!
great
.great old motel with great location and very clean
nothing
Adequate- nothing more
Location was great. Right on the beach and super close to everything. The beach directly in front of the hotel was never crowded.
The room was always damp and had this weird moldy smell. We ordered an ocean view room. We were placed in the new building with a view of a blue house directly above their pool. You can't see this house in the photo above (that's how incredibly close it is). When sitting on our balcony we were only about 20 feet away from them. It felt like we were just staring at them so we didn't even use the balcony. There was what appeared to be a rotting dead bird in the grass in front of our building the entire week. It was adequate at best, but I think next time I would definitely spend a little more to stay somewhere else.
Gross
Nothing
It was the most disgusting "hotel" I've ever stayed at. Holes on the walls it smelled outdated overpriced.
old motel - don't expect much
oceanfront
check in staff was somewhere between unpleasant and hostile. she simply glared at me when I arrived at the desk. we arrived at noon and asked if there was a chance the room might be ready, and perhaps we could check in early - she said "no early check in, it costs $50 if you want to check in before 2pm" subsequent interactions w/ her were no better. this is basically a stripped down old motel. lower your expectations and you won't be disappointed.
Breakfast was good and staff friendly
Most disguistig hotel ever stayed in. Carpets filthy and vomit on door and walls in bathroom. May report to board of health.
