10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our hosts thought of every detail. If you wanted water, tea, coffee, beer, a snack, fruit, cookies or anything, they had it readily available. You could use the kitchen, the laundry facilities, a heater for your room and the iron. The place is in a great location and so very beautiful, clean and comfortable. We stayed at several B& B's on our two-week vacation and this was by far our favorite one!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Veruit clean, quiet and charming location. The host was very helpfull. Excellent breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly welcoming and helpful hosts made our stay very enjoyable. Fantastic breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic in every way beautiful location super friendly hosts
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Not even sure where to begin! Maybe breakfast was my favourite part... It was absolutely amazing! I have always found it problematic to organise vegan options so usually I don't even bother requesting it and just hope for some margarine and bread. But James' breakfast offered the widest range of vegan options, actually, a far greater selection than in my own household haha! On top of the perfect meal there is a fully equipped kitchen available for those who wish to cook during their stay! It's perfect for refueling when spending some time in the country. Although our visit this time wasn't about hiking in the countryside. We attended the Fly Open Air festival and couldn't have picked a better place to stay! It was a 5 minute walk from the entrance, and James prepared a treasure map showing how to get there. It was dead convenient to walk through through the fields at the end, while everybody else was queuing for the overcrowded buses to get back to Edinburgh. We were fast asleep in the comfiest bed by the time people got home. When checking out next morning, James also offered to give us a ride to the train station given that taxis were super busy with the festival goers. I wish we had stayed for another couple of days to fully enjoy what Parkhead House has to offer. Unfortunately, we never had the chance to meet Angela (the wifey), but James is an excellent chat, very entertaining and also informative when it comes to local knowledge, so I can only imagine her being just as endearing. He's great with guests and genuinely interested in people. I wish I was a bit more like him haha! I am sure we will be back soon, thanks for everything!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We travelled to attend a wedding anniversary, and chose Parkhead House largely because of the "Dog Friendly" description, It certainly was! All other aspects were excellent. A very enjoyable stay and we would certainly hope to return.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Harris Room that we stayed in was great for me and my 14 year old son as he had his own space but still close enough to feel safe (would have been made better if when locked from inside I could gain access with a key) The private bathroom was a great addition to both rooms. The beds are sooooooo comfortable and the whole property is dog friendly, my dogs enjoyed the break as much as we did.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: James was wonderful. Flexible with check in times, made breakfast early. We stayed one night early in the trip and our last night. At breakfast the first time he asked if we needed any condiments and I asked for hot sauce which he didn’t have, but by the time we stayed again he had gone out and bought hot sauce! Location was beautiful and peaceful, though a little too far from Edinburgh to allow us to spend as much time in the city as we would have liked, but that was a misjudgment on our part.
Cons: Shower water pressure was too low to easily wash my hair. It got a little warmer than average when we were staying and the room was a little hot since we couldn’t open the windows and there was no AC (that we were aware of).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the host. Most helpful I’ve met. Loved the snacks provided. Beautiful location. Liked that washcloths were provided along with the towels.
Cons: Water pressure in the shower was too low to wash my long hair.

It is easily accessible as it is located on one level , with good sized parking and in convenient location close to village amenities and train station. The cottage is well equipped with modernised bathroom and kitchen.
Cons: The only point I could find that could be improved is the seating in the front room which could do with a larger sofa for better comfort and ease of use ( especially for elderly people - we used instead the two comfy rocking chairs that are as well available )

4.3 Okay
Pros: So called superior room with large bed. Mattresses are past their sell-by date Room is BADLY under ventilated... one small window that was closed.... and only opens about 2 inches at top... bottom window glued shut (pet hate of hotels that do that... windows are designed to open and ventilate. As a result room was musty and smelled dank. Carpet dirty. Yeeeuucchh. Door to room ... only closed when you locked it... otherwise would not shut. This should not be a hotel room. Damp. Musty. Access from Outside ... should make this clearer on website. Poor. Would not recommend room. Only redeeming factor was the staff and breakfast.

We also ate here in the evening and the quality and range of the food was excellent. The hotel has a leaflet showing a 1.5 mile walk to explore the beaches and historical sights in Aberdour.

Bar staff, Grace in particular, where efficient and really friendly. I would recommend 100% if staying in the area.
Cons: Nothing.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Pillows were clean and firm
Cons: Bed frame was a cheap flat pack that moved and squeeked. Mattress was the cheapest spring mattress available. polyester duvet cover made sleeping unbearably hot. Room overlooked smoking area for the bar so every 15mins you were disturbed by drinkers standing outside laughing until well gone midnight. Carpets in corridors filthy looking and sticky to walk on. Restaurant decor needs a complete revamp. Booth seating covers look dirty and restaurant smells of old cooking fat.

Pros: Handy for where we wanted to be. Stayed before. Staff always helpful and friendly. Great breakfast.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Beautiful on the outside, ok looking inside a wee bit disappointing. Good location. Great breakfast
Cons: Room walls were paper thin, tiny shower smelled like drains. The noise Friday and Saturday nights (due to weddings both nights and the ‘clear up’ after was hellish. Also the housekeeping first thing in the morning made no effort to be quiet outside rooms...

7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: It does not say anywhere on booking.com about £100 deposit on arrival! This should be made very clear when booking!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: From the moment I arrived the staff were very welcoming and fun. The location is simply fabulous as is the restaurant and of course the bar. Breakfast is very large and doesn’t cater for overseas guests and as it’s 4 star it should . Fantastic pool and good gym with lots of onsite facilities including entertainment which by the way didn’t realise as I thought it was a hotel not a holiday village but that’s not a negative.
Cons: Lack of continental breakfast . Nothing in the fridge which as I booked a superior executive room and paying the extra this should have been catered for as I was also on business not holiday. The room was very warm and windows were limited in opening so lack of fresh air plus I could not leave the patio door open as I was on the ground floor (room 101) therefore for security reasons. The downside with the caravan site on one occasion a “lady “ was being sick by one of the caravans and her other half was busy having a pee while having a drink. So a spread of clientele ? 9.2 well not really more like 7.0 depending on your views .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: just sorry we couldn't stay longer
Cons: lady serving breakfast in the restaurant was grumpy and not very friendly. could have been a bit happier and more approachable. the boy working in the breakfast restaurant was nice and friendly and all reception staff brilliant.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very modern and clean with fantastic views
Cons: Nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was very nice, good start to the day
Cons: I didn't like the water stains on the ceiling
4.5 Okay
Pros: The room set up and the view
Cons: the manager was awful. She would let us pay for the correct type of room at booking.com rates. I clicked the wrong type of room but did not see the email to change as had already set of on journey as I lived in Elgin. Just kept saying its our policy to charged an extra £60 and it was my fault for making the mistake. Would never go again as they openly said they charge more that booking.com. Attitude of restaurant manager when our table had not been cleaned of dirty chairs and mess under the table. We were told, what do you expect after high tea. Would also have never booked the hotel if I knew if was attached to a huge caravan site. Never used the spa facilities due to the amount of people using it.
7.0 Good
Pros: We loved the location
Cons: The room we were allocated, although we did book late and were told it might be noisy. It still felt like the spare room.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Great view and nice to have a indoor swimming pool.
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room (Executive Family suite) was superb. Very spacious even though there were 5 of us but having the mezzanine floor was great. View from balcony was simply perfection however, the balcony furniture needed cleaned and updated. Although this minor detail did not in any way take away from the standard of detail on the room. The room was very clean and the decor tasteful. One of the best rooms I have ever booked. The leisure facilities were great and even here the perfect view was maintained through the large glass windows. Kids loved it. The food was delicious with plenty of variety and the attached bar/lounge area has entertainment and was also clean and tastefully designed. The food was very reasonably priced too. The location is great but a car would be needed if you want to explore more than the local town. The service was to a high standard and they were all friendly and helpful especially the restaurant and bar staff. We had the perfect family getaway here. Highly recommended.
Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely wee hotel spotless, great food and reasonably priced definitely be back
Cons: Nearly took exhaust off the car as we missed the turn in to carpark could only see the wee dirt track road round the back not a good idea
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Room was well equipped and well appointed. Good size
Cons: Check-in could have been a little quicker
6.8 Good
Pros: Lovely location under the Forth Bridge. Some of the staff were helpful and pleasant. Continental breakfast was adequate (good croissants).
Cons: Bed sagged considerably in the middle and wasn’t comfortable. We phoned to explain we were arriving late (as we were travelling a long distance and got stuck in traffic). We were told it was not a problem. Arrived just after 11pm and everything was shut. Eventually someone opened the door and was quite rude. Not sure what else we could have done.
5.8 Okay
Cons: The coffee in the morning was terrible. The rooms were in need of refurbishing. Very poor sound proofing
7.0 Good
Pros: The location.
Cons: One of the staff was rude.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Charming old inn. Parking was easy. Well appointed, in keeping with the historic charm of the building.
7.0 Good
Pros: This hotel serves its purpose, it's a good place to stay in a beautiful town. It's right on the water which is lovely. We didn't eat at the pub, but it looked lovely.
Cons: There were a few issues- there was only a tiny bit of toilet paper left for us when we arrived so we had to go to the bar to ask for more (which they gave us, but we shouldn't have had to ask). There was also no cover on the toilet, which I find to be disgusting. Toilets should never be flushed without the cover, the water and bacteria spray everywhere, so I was VERY skeptical of the cleanliness of the bathroom. The bed also wasn't super comfortable, but it did the job. There were no outlets anywhere near the bed, which is super frustrating.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The staff were very pleasant and helpful.
Cons: The continental breakfast could have done with a bit more choice. There was no cheese or eggs and no natural yogurt or bananas in the fruit selection.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Pleasant surroundings, went for daughters wedding family members were with us too which was nice we could all stay in one place.
Cons: Our room was in a poor state, could have done with a good coat of paint, curtains hanging off the pole in places. Other family members had better rooms.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Superb location
Cons: No mention of train noise some people might not expect as so close to bridge.

Pros: Staff were very attentive, especially Kyle who was everywhere and very helpful. Dining room exquisite. Very reasonable menu.
Cons: Bathroom a bit dated and access via 5 steps, all working though. Lighting poor. Breakfast could have been hotter.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Thé ceiling of thé dining room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Hotel staff are a real treat to meet. Food was - breakfast and dinner - both first class. Loved the dining room, a treat for the eyes
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were Excellent :-) especially Princess Charlotte on the bar :-) Breakfast and evening meal fine, very good. Bed was comfortable. Good value for money.
Cons: Shower was OK but you could tell when someone in another room flushed the loo, not excessive but slightly noticeable, minor grumble. The person who measured the length of the curtains obviously didn't talk to the person hanging them up. If the curtain rail was back in the alcove the curtains would have probably been the perfect length, as it was they were put more into the room leaving a gap between the bottom of the window and curtains.

Pros: Very comfortable room and excellent breakfast
Cons: Nothing

Pros: Staff really friendly, food in the restaurant fantastic, don’t forget to book though as it is really busy.
Cons: Rooms are small but we were only sleeping in them, the bathroom could do with a bit of a overhaul.

Pros: Location perfect for a family get together also for travelling into Edinburgh bus stop directly outside staff extremely friendly and helpful definitely need to book a table for evening meals as the pub gets very busy food was excellent and not over priced breakfast cooked fresh each morning and to order
Cons: Rooms very clean but tired ensuites definitely need an upgrade but clean and toiletries provided but this is reflected in the price of room for a short two night stay it was perfect for us

Pros: Loved staying here, the authenticity of the place. Great vibe, lovely staff, comfortable accommodation. Location was good, bus right out the front taking you into Edinburgh. Great pub and tasty food. Highly recommend
Cons: Nothing I didn’t like
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location for my needs is just right, the members of staff are friendly and polite. The single room is enough for the one night stay. Breakfast is good.
Cons: The lack of the hot beverages in the room. The selection is poor (I don't drink tea with caffeine or coffee, thus some herbal teas or hot chocolate would be a nice addition, as well as non-dairy cream option).
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Charming inn with a great evening meal for an overnight stay before heading to Edinburgh Airport 15 minutes away. Great value for money.
Cons: Small room, but generous bathroom
6.0 Good
Pros: Stopped here before and its loads better for cleanliness, but its more a food orientated place now instead of a good old pub with pub Grubb.overall stay was good just didn't agree with the breakfast cost

Pros: Location is perfect
5.0 Okay
Pros: Convenient for my needs
Cons: Felt like the staff had just been through in They didn’t seem trained!! Wet glasses for Wine , slow service food in bar was cold. Tv reception was dreadful but discovered there was bad connection! Book put behind tv by management but still had problems. No maintenance came !! Would not stay again
5.8 Okay
Pros: Hotel is a bit shabby and needing refurbishment in places, beds very comfortable. We had to leave without breakfast as guests were queueing on the stair to get a table, There were plently of tables but unfortnately no staff to clear them. Staff were very rude and stressed. No food in the buffet and guests had to wait 20 minutes for tea or coffee, food orders were wrong. The restaurant was very short staffed and just complete chaos. We did receive a refund for breakfast but it spoilt our stay.
Cons: The staff were very unhelpful, stressed and rude. Tables in restuarant uncleared from previous guests and dirty.
6.3 Good
Pros: Pool area was nice and clean
Cons: Staff didn't seem to know what they are doing, told no children's menus at dinner when there was, given a table at breakfast then just left ,had to go ask for tea, coffee , toast and to order our meals. Room was far away , outside and up a lot of stairs, not ideal with an 18 month year old child
