Staff in the Bar attached to Hotel were very friendly and worked well. Resturant Menu could have been more varied.
friendly staff and good food
Nice friendly staff
The restaurant is not as good as it used to be both in the selection of meals and presentation. The breakfasts were poor compared with other hotels both in the choice available and particularly the toast was very poor with the use of standard cut loafs and it being forced into the toast rakes, that could easily be improved.
Large room, good bed, excellent breakfast limited dining menu
Nice and quiet Very sqeaky floor in corridor and bedroom
Very friendly, efficient, happy staff. Very spacious, comfortable, well appointed room. Excellent, reasonably priced meals. None.
The room was very nice, large with a four poster bed, nice view over the garden of the hotel.
The easily accessible spa facilities and the helpfulness of the stafff. Lack of lighting at the front door and poor lighting in the room (301)
We enjoyed the peace and quite and the lovely surroundings of the hotel.Great for a peaceful weekend. Very basic but comfortable rooms. We thought it was good value for money. There is a definite smell of dampness in the corridors leading to the rooms which was a bit off putting although the rooms were fine.Bathrooms clean and tidy but wallboards on the walls instead of tiles which would have made a difference.
Excellent location and facilities for walks, cycling, spa break. Loch Leven trail a short cut through at back of hotel. We took our bikes, a 30min easy cycle took us to a great park for the kids(and us big kids!). Hotel big, clean (though a little dated-in a good way, that suits the location). Would stay again, and take friends
Closeness to town and nice walks. At the price paid we felt breakfast should have been included.
It's worth pointing out that this hotel is now fully non-smoking.
Was only there for one night but must say the staff were very pleasant and helpful Could not get access to internet which is important when travelling. Based on this my answer to your next question is Yes and no if business travel
A reasonably priced hotel in a good setting, convenient for Perth and Edinburgh and good countryside. Also convenient for us personally as it is near relatives. We are likely to use it again. Being very critical, there was a slight smell in the room, probably originating from the cleaning materials used. The smell was not particularly offensive or we would have complained.
The staff were polite and helpful, breakfast was excellent as were the leisure facilities. The rooms could have been cleaned better ie windows, there were also cobwebs on the lamps and pelmets. Bedding and bathroom were spotless if a bit dated.
the smell of dampness in the room was over powering .but as it was last minute and only one night we did not complain. if the damp wasnt there it would have been good, with the spa .
Very pleasant hotel with friendly staff, nice food and would stay there again. Probably the location. A little bit out in the sticks
the internal setting can be rather expensive for drinks and meals
It was a short stay but everything was fine, nice relaxing atmosphere. Good access to the airport. Shuttle bus to airport available but not early enough for our flight. Service starts at 6am
Comfort of the bed. Great shower and toiletries. I do not like the room layout as a huge mirror blocks out any daylight. Also, there should be an icemachine located on at least every other floor. Poor lighting for sightimpaired guests.
Nice warm welcome at reception, the girl was very efficient and friendly. The welcome cocktail was a lovely surprise too. nothing.
Amazing hotel - The hotel was classy, smart and decor was modern and sophisticated. The staff were friendly and helpful and the bedrooms were amazing. The view we has of the Forth Rail Bridge was wonderful and the room was decorated will attention paid to every detail. Complete luxury from the moment we arrived. The bar was well stocked and not over priced. Despite the hotel being fully booked with a wedding party staying the bar had plenty space for my husband and I to enjoy a few romantic drinks before bed. I would have prefered a bath as well as a shower in our room however the shower there was very powerful, hot and big enough for two. If the hotel hat a swimming pool it would perfect.
Very modern and clean. Free internet access. No food or room service after 10pm
Great welcome, nice quality, clean, modern, good food...very impressed. Breakfast room service was very disorganised and slow, plus this hotel is a bit pricey on food and drink.
Nice hotel for reasonable price
Clean, modern, comfortable and not far from town. Some lighting in the wardrobes behind the bed would help.
We felt that the renovation of the Hotel was well done, the Staff were all very pleasant. The room and bathroom were comfortable, clean and well laid out. Our only wish would have been to have a king size bed instead of a double. The room could easily have accommodated the extra size. I had requested a gluten free breakfast, but this was not available.
Hotel was very comfortable. Staff friendly and helpfull. Room very cozy. Food was amazing, very tasty. The floor in the bedroom was uneven which felt a bit uncomfortable whilst I was trying to sleep? Second night my partner and I swapped sides and it didnt bother him at all.
Pleasant and helpful staff, comfortable and well-maintained rooms, excellent cooked Scottish breakfast
Welcoming and warm. Good food and excellent value. Nothing
Have stayed here now a number of times and have always had a very comfortable stay, excellant service and food best in area.
although being on a street the hotel was very peaceful short time offered for breakfast
Great staff, really good room, great food Nothing
the hotel and room were very contemporary and comfortable in room facilities were very good the staff were lovely
Staff very friendly Maybe the website needs updating regarding when food is available. Website stated Tues not available but when I arrived food was being served??
Attention to detail by staff and the excellent standard of the food.
lack of lift
We came to stay to watch the junior ryder cup, so unfortunately didnt have time to use ll the facilities in the hote. our lodge was lovely, plenty of room, lovely designed, we ate in the restaurant, food and service excellent
I must point out that my friends and I stayed in one of lodges on the estate which was superb. The hotel itself seemed to be a bit staid and a bit dark. There seemed to be no play area for children - an in-keeping adventure playground area within the estate would be good
Beautilfully furnished, spacious lodges in secluded setting. Very child-friendly. Relaxing surroundings and great pool. Staff friendly and helpful.
We liked: the range of facilities; the friendliness of the staff; the convenience of the location; and the comfort of the lodge.
We arrived at the Estate and were immeidately impressed with the surroundings. The lodge was beautiful and well stocked with everything we needed and the staff were friendly and helpful. My children loved the setting and the pool. We stayed at Duchally during the worst snow to hit Scotland in years and we ended up snowed in. Despite this the hotel were excellent and really took care of us all.
the location of the room was above a noisy generator.
nice traditional hotel. Lovely big breakfast On arrival, the hotel had no note of our booking. Thankfully I had taken a print out of my online booking
It was good value for money Better insulation between the bedrooms could be introduced. I was woken several times during the night due to noise from other rooms
No room service
Handy for workplace
The staff were quick to amend the mistake in reservation for dinner. The staff were really friendly and efficient. The toilet in our room was less than clean ideallly needed a deep clean or ripped out and refurbished. The room itself was very dated but fairly comfortable.
Very friendly and helpful staff. A nice restful environment.
Central location and excellent value for money. All-you-can-eat breakfast. This is a very old building which is rambling in nature and so somewhat difficult to find your way around. My bedroom was clean and comfortable and adequately equiped but could not be described as luxurious.
Excellent breakfast, bright dining room, very central for Perth Theatre. Bed was poor - lumpy
close to train station/city lady in bar not friendly
The flat was absolutely gorgous with lots of personal touches which made the stay special and would make me recommend it to friends and also return myself. Excellent location and a short stroll to the town centre. The fact that I wasn't staying longer!
There was a group of us staying at the Rose Apartment in celebration of a relation's birthday. Everyone had a lovely time here and the accommodation was excellent. The apartment was modern, clean and spacious and we would certainly return. No
fantastic accomodation, fantastic location, best self catering our family has ever stayed in.
Appartment pure luxury.dealing with the staff about arrival and depature was above the call of duty The only complaint myself and my brother-in law are of limited mobility and the amount of stairs caused joint problems.
The accomodation was of very high standard and kept very clean. It was well eqiupped and the nice little extras like the Wii, TV's in the bedrooms and access to the internet. Too many stairs to the Rose Apartment for older or fragile guests.
Every thing Not disclosing that it was a fourth floor walk up.
the fact that it was on the third floor which meant climbing 63 steps
This is the perfect place for a week end stay for 3 or 4 people. A top floor location that isnt suitable for everyone, but the accomodation is 5 star plus.
The location of the apartment. The quality of the room was excellent. The stairs to the room
Clean and comfortable with all facilities you could need but without ostentation. Great breakfasts cooked to order. Good value. Nothing.
good location, parking and pet friendly
The staff were superb, the accommodation was excellant.
Staff were very friendly, polite and always willing to help. The food and menu selections were excellent
A friendly welcome in comfortable surroundings. Good restaurant food at fair prices. We would stay again. We were lucky in getting the room with the spa bath. Unfortunately the room stank of tobacco smoke.
Quality of fittings, good breakfast
Friendly Staff, excelent food, wifi access in room the shower was rather feeble & of inconsistant temperature
The service was quick and with a smile. The receptionist went out of her way to be helpful. The hotel is convinient and the restaurant is open till late
Friendly staff, ideally located for the purpose of my visit and fair price
varied breakfast, comfortable and spacious beds and cleanliness, throughout. Friendly staff too.
room was fantastic and restaurant (with view of Tay) was lovely-particularly loved our high tea experience car parking a bit of a problem
the location for shopping trip finding a place to park. the food was very poor
Pleasant surroundings and facilities.
Central Helpful staff Shower in bathroom very poor
All good No complaints
Due to the hotel being quiet we were offered a choice of two suites which was really nice. We liked the hotel and staff. Only downside was no one around at night to serve us in the bar after one initial drink so we just had to go back to the room (it was only about midnight).
Friendly staff with great central location. Clean, comfortable and roomy. Excellent breakfasts too.
We booked a mini-suite but this turned out to be on the 3rd floor (no lifts) which was unsuitable for 70+ year olds with moving problems but the hotel quickly changed the room to one on the 1st floor which was excellent overlooking the river and Perth bridge - ideal for us.
Unfortunately we could only stay one night on this visit, but definitely plan to return and stay longer. The hotel was comfortable and welcoming and we were given the Tay Suite overlooking the river which was a lovely room with an old world charm - which often lacking in hotels today Lack of hot water for bath and showers
The view of the River Tay was great. The breakfasts were pretty good as well. All of your staff was very nice and accomodating. You need a bellman or porter. There are many stairs and it is very difficult to carry up your luggage alone. My Mother was with us and she is 76 years old and unable to carry her luggage up several flights of stairs. It was unfair that the ladies at the from desk had to help us get our luggage to our room. The parking situation was terrible as well. I know this is a very old hotel but the parking spaces were very difficult to get into at the side of the hotel and many nights it was already full.
Near city centre, clean and comfortable one room was extremely hot - window only opened on to courtyard and no air came in.
The staff was very friendly and helpful. Lovely breakfast and good location for shopping
Very Friendly Staff, and excellent meal, wifi access in reception area allowed me to do a lot of work in evening in a comfortable relaxing environment
Nice room and an excellent breakfast, great atmosphere in hotel bar, staff are so friendly. No lift
The best thing about the hotel was the Bistro attached to it - the food was amoungst the best I have every eaten anywhere in the world. Room was small and cramped and the bathroom was old a rickerty.
downstairs was lovely but untill the bedrooms are improved we would not use this hotel
the relaxing bistro and meal
wev requested an upgrade and were very happy with the room we were given. we weren't happy with the first room we were given as it was very small
The staff were very friendly & helpful. Good breakfasts, clean comfortable rooms. Would stay again but only if 1st floor rooms available or a lift installed!! The stairs to the rooms were unbeleivably steep & winding, all guests & even staff commented on this!! Even the fitter among us had to stop for breathers. It should be made clear that this hotel is not suitable for elderly people - my mum was with us and the stairs were so bad, she had to use her angina sprays at each floor. Also, the ground floor public areas were nicely refurbished but the stairwells were a bit shabby & dated. The website was a bit misleading, stating free car parking on site - there were only actually 5 very small spaces!!
Friendly staff, breakfast, and restuarant next to the hotel. Children stayed at no extra charge. Very accessable to the motorway Room was very small for the price
Toilet and room very good layout. Staff excellent. Matresses too hard.
~Clean, everything worked, a good shower, large bed, the place was in very good decorative order
The hotel was very easy to find and in a good location with a good place to eat very near by within walking distance.
The hotel was modern and had all the facilities required for a business trip. The breakfast was sufficient. We would have preferred to have been served by somebody at breakfast. Self service was complicated and didn't seem to reduce the number of staff in the dining area.
perfect budget hotel all round.
The barman was happy to serve guests all night if they wished and the staff generally were very chatty. It wasn't your fault, but it was a long walk to the station in the morning thru' driving snow...since there were no taxis or buses!
Staff, facilities and cleanliness No everything was great
I was on a business trip, the restaraunt next door was very good. The tv set was of historical value only, useless for watching tv
Friendliness of the receptionist Lack of on site catering
Warm welcome , lovely furnishings in keeping with the Edwardian Townhouse style , comfortable relaxing bedrooms ,( we had both bedrooms on top floor, one facing the park )tasty and nicely cooked breakfast. , nothing too much trouble for guests. . Wish we could have stayed longer .
Very nice room, very clean and comfortable. Car Parking, close to town centre slight noise from main road, double glazing wold reduce this.
proximity to city centre with nice walk there over bridge: caring owner intent on making you welcome.
access to city centre no
Enjoyed the decor & relaxed feel of the hotel N/A
The hotel was very comfortable, our room was lovely, and the staff were very welcoming. We had a good breakfast both mornings and had drinks in the evening in the residents lounge. It was in an ideal position as you could walk over the railway bridge to Perth town centre in 10 -15minutes. Nothing
The owners took pride in their service they provided.
The hotel was extremely friendly, clean and staff very helpful. Although the breakfast was adequate for us and was extremely well cooked, it was advertised as a full english which unfortunately it wasn't,
Friendly staff. excellent food and a good location. The walk to the city center over the River Tay via the railway bridge is great. (The owner recommended this to us try it!)
The staff were very helpful No
Very friendly staff, could not be more helpful.
comfort,excellent location,food all first class
Stayed in the Riverview rooms with beautiful view of the River Tay only about 30 metres away. Room very spacious, nicely decorated with comfortable bed and lovely en-suite. Meals excellent, beautifully presented, with very extensive wine list. Evening meal and wines however rather expensive.
The Staff were all very friendly & efficient, room overlooking the river was very good value for money as a single traveller.Food was of a good standard .
This hotel was decorated tastefully and to a high standard. We arrived in January when it was freezing outside. There were three open fires burning. The staff were friendly and efficient. The food was excellent (with one exception). The porridge was disappointingly cool, had lumps of formed skin in i and had little or no salt. Not good for an expensive hotel in Scoland. Dogs are allowed in the bedrooms only, so while we were eating, our dog was out in the car despite it being -7degrees C. Surely in the winter they could allow dogs better shelter.
the luxury of the bedroom and comfort of the lounges with log fires
arrived on a dark and very wet evening, so the greatest surprise was when I opened the curtains in the morning, the veiw was breathtaking, the river Tay flows through the garden.I liked everything , wish I could have stayed longer than one night.
excellent location, excellent food, great ambiance but we only stayed one night so we did not do any of the nature stuff
Hotel and grounds were excellent, Dinner menue was good and the food very good The breakfast was a let down. The cooked food was cold and had been lying in the kitchen for some time, bacon etc hard and uneatable. even the poached egg had been pre cooked! Worst cooked breakfast ever
Wonderful setting; peace and tranquility; friendly, attentive staff; good food;relaxing atmosphere;well appointed rooms; convenient for A9; Dundee and Perth Perhaps lost some of the elegance of former days; direct booking overpriced; rather restricted menu e.g. no a la carte on a mid week evening; some of the staff need a little more training at table service.
