8.3 Excellent
Pros: In general, we loved staying here and would definitely come back (but stay in a different room). The staff were happy, welcoming, and very helpful. The beautiful grounds were quiet and serene. The beach is absolutely amazing- it's really shallow for a long way and the water was really warm. It does help if you have water shoes or aqua socks or whatever if you want to wade out farther. There is lots of shade on the beach which we love. The pool and the area around it were also lovely and peaceful (except the loungers which look chic but are not comfortable). The restaurant was great- the thai food was always good and the kitchen would make thai dishes that were not on the menu, which is exceptional in a resort like this. Tip: Do NOT order cocktails- someone who doesn't drink them can't mix them. We were here for five days and never left the resort.
Cons: The main things that prevented our stay here from being amazing were in the room. The room was not particularly comfortable, which was surprising. Half of the room was a raised platform that held the bed mattresses and mosquito nets. This made using the room awkward. You either had to stand by the door/television or lay down on the bed or sit on the edge of the platform. Not my cup of tea. The a/c didn't work strongly and was noisy. The mattesses were hard and having them on that platform was weird and a little awkward. There were other rooms that were not like that and we would try those rooms next time. Also, there were not enough chairs and loungers on the beach. Everyday, we had to hunt for chairs to group together in the shade.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful time at White Sand Resort. It is very quiet, since there're no boats coming to the beach. The hotel grounds are beautiful and well kept. The view from our room was fantastic. I went on morning runs along the beach and I found our resort to be far better then others. On top of usual Thai dishes, the restaurant has a great Thai-style vegetarian/vegan menu. The prices were very good, considering island location, beauty of the venue and size of portions. The breakfast was moderately priced at 100 bhat and had everything we could wish for. Best of all, the hotel staff were absolutely amazing. Very genuinely welcoming and kind, with great command of English, they were always very nice and ready to help and accommodate. Noteworthy, the hotel has a great environment-friendly policy, limiting use of plastic and doing clean-ups around the island. Way to go!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The rooms were beautiful! The staff were super lovely and very happy to assist with connections as its in quite a remote area.
Cons: The toilet broke but the staff came and fixed it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was outstanding Excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: place is beautiful, remote, quiet and friendly. staff very warm and very relax. perfect logistics and overall organization, for any kind of aspect, concerning travel, connections, rentals and all other needed things - just perfect! Absolutely marvelous idea regarding the drinking water!!! no need for plastic bottles! I would like to know for my next time stay there and as a small recommendation, tide time/level and air/sea water temperature, think it could be a nice thing to check every morning and evening, without any direct help or influence, of course :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location and staff were Excelent. A special thank you to Chain the manager, he was very accommodating, he helped us with all our needs. The snorkeling tour was out of this world, next time I will avoid the sunburn, my fault. Sunsets were spectacular. A perfect view from the restaurant gazebo 5 feet from the water. Nak and the gang, great to get a smile every morning with breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: How you had your own private mini house. How helpful the staff were at all times.
Cons: Got bit a few times by mosquitos
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The resort is right on the beach where you can watch the sun set. The staff took our bags on a motorised trolley so we didn’t have to carry them. Naeng was really kind and helpful as we were in a group of about 20. The staff couldn’t do more to help. The rooms were beautiful, big and clean. They spelled out my name in petals on the bed. The beds were comfy and the AC worked really well!
Cons: Nothing it was perfect.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Great view from the beachfront villa and a lovely sparkling wine greeting on arrival in the room. The staff were extremely nice and helpful, always with a smile, and had a professional touch to everything they did. The food at the restaurant was tasty and nicely presented, and I warmly recommend to have breakfast there.
Cons: The beach at Ao Kao was really beautiful, with sunbeds available to use. Unfortunately during our first and only evening at Ao Kao we got really badly bitten by sandflies: 50 bites bites in one hour, which were really bothersome for over a week. There were sandflies everywhere on Koh Mak, but we met some other people who had also gotten badly bitten during an evening at Ao Kao. Especially if you’re allergic to insect bites, this is something to take into consideration and at least use insect repellent - the serene, beautiful beach can be deceiving!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely hotel. Great location on the beach. Very Personal service by friendly helpful staff. Great buffet breakfast.
Cons: Pool was small but used beach so not a real issue.

7.5 Good
Pros: Amazing location, relaxing and private resort. Beautifully landscaped with great gardens/plants.We travelled during low & monsoon season (May) which meant we pretty much had the resort to ourselves. Rooms are spacious as well as the bathroom. Has hot running water and excellent aircon unit. We Stayed in the Deluxe Seaview room. Very Comfy bed. This resort is definitely recommended for families with young children. Enjoyed the in-room Thai massage which was about 400 Baht? Food was ok, good flavour but did expect more from the resort. Pricing fair. Loved the Papaya salad, great flavour.
Cons: Sandflies and flies..the place was inundated with flies very hard to eat in an open air restaurant. Could not enjoy the beach with the sandflies. Also our room was filed with flies. Not sure if this is due to the monsoon season or the tropical island itself? (We just stayed at Koh Kood and had no problems with insects/mosquitoes/flies or sandflies) Our room was abit of a walk from the restaurant and pool . I thought due to it being low season the staff would place us (guests) closer together or that knowing we had a 4 month old would place is closer to the amenities. The pool needed some umbrellas/sunshade for young children. Serving spoons at the buffet breakfast should be placed in a bowel of water so that the flies don’t land on them. Food portions are small from menu. Staff wasn’t very welcoming or friendly, not sure if this has to do with it being low season(May) and that they are bored? We had ordered fish steaks which were smaller than the picture and over cooked.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The quiet location with a beautiful beach with sun loungers, hammocks and swings to use freely. The pool is wonderfully nice and clean. The cabins contained everything you could need and much more. Spotless cleaning, bright and spacious room and shower both indoors and outdoors. The staff were very accommodating and good at speaking english. We booked an extra day when it was difficult to leave this paradise.
Cons: We have absolutely nothing to complain about!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: I have travelled to many tropical countries and the beach in Mira Montra is among the best I have seen in my life. It is the embodied idea of the tropical paradise beach: 100m of white sand, crystal clean, Emerald water, a line of palm trees and the best .. it’s almost empty! The hotel as of March 2019 has only 20 rooms, so the guest are very few for the space available. Lastly, a word of praise for the staff. They are very nice and they went out of their way to help us in more than one occasion!
Cons: The restaurant quality was good but they should offer more variety, especially some western food would be nice. For long stays, i.e more than 3-4 days, that would be a requirement. I also think that the breakfast can be improved and the opening time of the restaurant can be stretched as of today the last order is around 8.15pm. Last but not the least, just be careful that there are some sea urchin in the bay. Close encounter by swimming mindlessly without mask is guaranteed and it is not recommended: it’s very painful!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Property was beautiful... immaculate.... lovely set up... people were so nice, food was great... beach was great, villas were great... lovely quiet and relaxing
Cons: Having to leave
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Good location , big room and clean.
Cons: Can’t swim in the ocean far because a lot of Sea urchin in the water.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We stayed in a beach front villa for 3 nights. We can see the beautiful private beach, blue sea water right in front of our bedroom through the window. The room is quite new and clean. The bed is very comfortable. Most staff are friendly and helpful in general although some do not speak good English. Breakfast and food are clean and tasty. The hotel also offer a pick-up service from the pier. It’s a very nice place if you’re looking for a peaceful and relaxing vacation.
Cons: As a tropical island during rainy season, it’s not a suitable place for anyone who’s sensitive/allergic to insects: mosquitoes, sand flies, ants. I got approximately 20 spots from unidentified insect bites even though I applied anti-insect spray twice every day. I also found a scary 15-cm centipede in the bathroom. There’s no food in-room service so you gotta go out every meal. The restaurant is quite pricey and there’s no restaurant close to the resort. As an isolated resort, you have to either walk for 15 mins in a hot and humid condition to shops and restaurants or rent a motorbike to go to other places in the island. Snacks and drinks are sold 10-30% more expensive than the mainland’s. Be prepared to carry some anti-insect products, sun screen and sun burn products as you might not want to pay for the unexpected price there.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location, really relaxing and peaceful, very friendly staff always supportive
Cons: Early closing of the pool, no bar at the clubhouse.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location, Location
Cons: Sleeping families if four, not easy
6.8 Good
Pros: Location and amenities are amazing. Super clean and beautiful. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The staff is not that helpful they make you pay to clean the bedroom sheets even if it’s a mosquito in the sheets. Super rude!!! On the arrival I had a different card from the previous booking and they wanted me to pay again. Guess what my card was stolen not my fault as it was already paid so I didn’t saw the point of their drama. But the mosquitos sheets was ridiculous and that wouldn’t make me come back at all. Bad customer service makes the place even though was beautiful it’s not worth it the drama! One of the rooms had a big death spider and no one cleaned so.... it’s the same with the sheets I should have asked for a refund if that’s the principle! Ridiculous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Dream resort. Location a dream, staff a dream and the beach in front of the bungalow is just straight out of a magazine. The manager is the best, makes sure that your entire stay is top notch. Loved it.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The vibe was super chill and everyone, staff and guests alike were friendly. This place is away from most of the bars and restaurants, but totally accessible by scooter, which can be rented at a reasonable rate, both on site or all over the island. Lovely place for peace and quiet and to get away from it all. Make sure you try the ginger lime soda, plus the free coffee in the morning was top notch. Will definitely be back!
Cons: Some menu items were not available due to ingredients not available, but this is understandable considering things have to be brought in by boat from the mainland. Not a big deal if you are flexible, plus there are lots of food options around.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Friendly staff
Cons: Not clean. No good food. Worn down bungalow
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The pool was good...welcoming .
Cons: Staff was none existent. When we saw them in morning they were going elsewhere for breakfast. Sheets had cigarette burns when we arrived. We were not picked up at pier. Assistant "manager" jasper laid around in hammock drinking cocktails.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The Atmosphere was the best, I had a fun night with the owner and his friends coming over to have a little celebration. Was really funny and if I had the time I would definitely come again. The room was really sweet and the bed was really comfortable for Thailand. We really liked your stay! Thanks for everything!
Cons: The only thing is that there is no close by beach which I would recommend but bc you get a scooter really cheap and the other beaches are just a 10 min ride away it doesn't really matter.
7.0 Good
Pros: nice pool and manager and staff very pleasant.
Cons: bamboo floors hurt my feet and walkways uneven.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Seriously great find! If you get an opportunity to stay here, take it. Great staff (Jake the owner is awesome!), lovely food, comfortable beds, cool bamboo huts, nice pool, reasonably priced, free drinking water, turtle beach a short way away... What more could you need!
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The place is nice and stylish. The pool is available at night too so that great. They got good food too. The staff is very friendly and very kind to give me a ride on my way to the port. They got all the stuff you need.
Cons: The place is a bit too far from the beach but if you rent a bike then its no problem.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Spent an amazing 4 days at bamboo hideaway. Jake, the owner met us at the ferry and payed for our taxi to the resort. For the rest of the time we had a scooter from the resort and explored the island which was a lot of fun. The bed was really comfortable and the view from the little terrace out onto the sea was nice. Would defiantly stay here again if we come back to Koh Mak!
6.8 Good
Pros: Jack was super frindly ans welcoming
Cons: Too far away from tbe beach and it needs a bit of care
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had the most wonderful time here. So lovely people, place, and happenings. Food was really good and free water bottle refill place is nice. Really special place and people. Thanks to all staff, especially to Sue for making us feel like a part of a family!

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and the location suited completely ....up a small hill away from the beachfront with greenery around. Garden was very pretty . Easy to access the main restaurants and snackhouses. Beaches were close enough ...no need to hire scooters! Enjoyed Smile cookery school ...went twice. Diving with bb divers very good too Both pick you up
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Koh Mak Island was **fanstastically amazing** ALL because of Good Time Resort. To start, Mr. Peak (the manager) personally greeted us at the port to take us back to the resort. Checkin was easy. He always made himself available to answer our questions, and help us navigate around the island. Everyday he greeted us with kindness, a big smile, and cheerfulness. The room was exceptionally clean, privately situated a good distance from the other bungalows, surrounded by topical trees & nature. We never saw a cockroach. The room had AC, a fridge, a flat-screen TV, and a DVD player with free movies to borrow from the main office. Morning breakfast at the main office (indoor as well as off a deck in the sunshine) was like a delicious homemade meal of eggs, toast, jam, and coffee. Centrally located to eateries, convenience stores, pharmacy, & ice cream parlour. A short walk to a good part of the beach– clean with nice sand, no rocks, no algae & no sand flies. Situated conveniently other cabana bars & open-air massage beds along the beach. Also near a good Muy Thai gym operated by local instructors. The wi-fi connection was good (ping = approx 25, d-load = approx 25M)– we were able to work and even stream movies at night. Mr. Peak's friend Bonnie, who owned a wonderful restaurant right on the beach. With many others to choose from, we ate her incredibly delicious home-cooked-like food everyday. We enjoyed our stay so much that we extended it by one night. Thanks to Mr. Peack going above & beyond to help us rebook our trip w/ the agency since he could speak in Thai for us. Mr. Peak works hard, and has worked at the resort for over 10 years. It’s evident he loves his job, due to how he treats his customers so happily. His english is very good, which was a tremendous help to us non-Thai speakers. And he taught us a thing or two! He had many good stories to share, and everyone in town knows and loves him.
Cons: There really is nothing negative to say. I am VERY picky and never rate things at full stars, but this place certainly gets a 20/10 !
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The accommodations were spacious and we were given two options upon arrival. The house is located in a tropical garden so it was absolutely stunning and felt secluded even though you have access to everything around you. It was quiet and comfortable and relaxing. We almost missed out on our boat ticket to Koh kut but the owner pulled strings and REALLY helped us out and made sure we got our tickets and got to the boat in time (literally had a 20minute window and he really pulled through and we were so so thankful)
Cons: The bed is Thai style and quite hard
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Room was nice and big - aircon and (small) fridge worked fine. Bed was good size and mattress not too hard. Shower was good too. Staff was brilliant - the Thai manager was very friendly and helped us with everything. Even offered to get me a few beers when I asked if he was selling some. The owner was lovely as well and we had a few good chats.
Cons: Room doesn’t get cleaned every day - not a problem for me but for some that might be. Not sure if they actually just forgot to clean our room or if they only just clean every second day.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: During my short time on Koh Mak I moved accommodation 5 times. Out of all the places I stayed this was definitely the best value for money. My room was huge and the air con was great (not directly over the bed so it didn’t freeze me in the night). The room had the added Bonus of a fridge and they have water refill facilities which I really appreciate. The grounds of this resort are beautiful. A jungle feel garden with tropical flowers everywhere. The pool was big and very peaceful. I was on koh Mak to train Muay Thai at Phoenixx gym. I got a good deal on the training as they have a collaboration with good time resort. This also means a lot of the other guest were training so it created a very friendly family vibe. I was also lucky enough to meet the owners who went out of their way to help me out and even invited me to dinner. The breakfast was great. As good as any of the more expensive places that I stayed. If your looking for a peaceful relaxing and friendly place to stay then this is definitely the place for you.
Cons: Nothing
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely big and well equipped room in a beautiful setting, well maintained gardens all around the property and very quiet. Staff always on hand to answer any questions we had, possibly one of the best rooms we have stayed in Thailand for the price we paid. A really great and enjoyable stay.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Cool place if you like to be surrounded by jungle with Thai tradional style houses.
Cons: Some dust and old furnitures but it’s not a big deal.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Mr Peak was very helpful. Great location, huge land with beautiful designed houses. Water refill for free. The pool is nice.
Cons: We stayed for 6 nights. After I asked 1 time someone came cleaning the house. Though I asked a second time noone showed up. No toiletpaper in the bathroom when we arrived and no tea.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff are great and super helpful The location was good but would recommend getting a scooter so that you see all of the island, the best beach in my opinion is beside the Ko Mak resort pier and would be a twenty minute walk ( there’s a great beach bar there as well with good tunes and a good menu) Room was big and the bathroom was huge Breakfast was good value and decent quality There are cats and dogs in the public areas and at breakfast, this doesn’t bother me, I quite like animals but be aware if you have allergies or just don’t like having a cat on your lap or a puppy charging around after the cat
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything! Very good cofee Thanks M. Peak
Cons: Breakfast poor (Not included) !

8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice staffs,I was there alone. they were very helpful, old lady who is the cook there was really kind, everyone there were super friendly.
7.0 Good
Pros: It’s very quiet there. So perfect to relax. They should more take care of the Bungalows. They need to renovate a few things right now- I think the rooms are a bit overpriced for that what you get. Old matteress and you can feel each spring. The Family is super friendly and welcoming.
Cons: Not that clean. Need to renovate now!!!
5.8 Okay
Pros: Design of the bungalows - great sunset balconies, lots of space to hang out under the bungalows.
Cons: Pricier than it should be - food not great, beds super springy, bungalows kinda falling apart. Swimming rocky and warm.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved staff there and people around. The area is perfect for hanging out with awesome people or just calm enjoying perfect sunsets. Loved sounds of the waves during falling asleep and waking up with ocean view, it is worth all of the money. Liked my bungalow as my home and enjoyed their homemade thai meals made with love!
Cons: I really dont know what I didnt like... I think everything was perfect as it is!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was so friendly, they treated us like friend and the place it was amazing I didn’t expected to get the room and amazing location like I got because the price was so cheap. I definitely will go back again
9.3 Excellent
Pros: - super friendly and welcoming owners, I really liked the family feel of this resort - comfortable accommodation (especially for the price!) with a terrace and hammock by the sea - located in a peaceful corner of the island, but you can rent a scooter to get anywhere on Koh Mak
Cons: - no soap provided (which was to be expected for the price but just something to be aware of) - there is a swimming area, but no beach on site
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is very quiet, with the most beautiful sunset. The beach is a bit rocky, but the big balcony makes up for that. The staff was the best, so friendly and caring.
Cons: Be aware that this resprt is a bit removed from the more busy areas, but it is well worth it if you enjoy your peace and quiet and beautiful scenery.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Boy, who runs the place is super helpful, he can arrange anything you ask him. The place is nice and quiet, everything is made from natural parts. The restaurant is really good.
7.5 Good
Pros: The family that run this are really helpful and super nice. It's a very rustic feel, with spacious wooden huts on stilts. There's a nice balcony where you can watch the sunset over the sea. The food is pretty tasty (however, the pad Thai wasn't really a pad Thai as we expected). It's really good value for the island.
Cons: The bed is really bad! It's just 2 mattresses on top of eachother and they are pretty old mattresses, so very springy. It would put us off staying again or recommending it as it's probably the first time we've booked somewhere and not had a bed!

Cons: There were no sheets provided.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: A cheaper option on a beautiful beach. The rooms are clean. Beds are comfortable. We stayed in the sea-view bungalow and loved waking up to the beautiful view. Its the best part of this 'resort'.
Cons: The bathrooms are small and very basic. The food could be better but there are other places to eat in the immediate surroundings- so just a couple of minutes walking distance. Overall- its a good option for young couples who want to have a sea-view bungalow on a budget.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff was friendly and helpful, organized everything we wanted (snorkeling trip, taxi to the pier, transfer to Ko Kham). Their fruit shakes are delicious, and so is the food. Beach is directly in front of the room, which is a nice view from the room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very nice location next to the sea. The view was really amazing. Also the food is quite nice
Cons: The bungalow is next to a river. During the night it can be quite noisy because there are a lot of frogs...

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Play area that my 3,5 year old daughter did not want to leave. Pool was beautiful, and many options of food in their restaurant. This was good considering it was a hotel “out the way”. Clean and nice rooms and facilities
Cons: We arrived the morning after a storm and the beach looked horrendous and were loads of rubbish on the beach. Next day they raked and cleaned the beach and it looked ok, but quite hard packed brown sand so we just used the pool that was good. Would be an investment to get some nice sand to their beach and clean up beach next to resort on the way to the nice pier jetty.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely place - lots of amenities including a pool. Great staff and a great location. Costs a little more than a basic hut/bungalow on the beach but worth it. Very professional.
Cons: Like a lot of places - a kettle would be more useful than a TV.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: If you seek full on relaxation - this is the place for you. Late at night when we sat on a porch at our bungalow we didn't hear anything else than ocean waves and sounds from the nature. We had a room with garden view, but we still had very pretty view to the sea. You can rent a scooter and explore, but we ended up staying at the hotel for two days. Breakfast was good, dinner in the hotel restaurant was superb! Special thanks to the waitress who was so helpful and nice. There was a small bar next to the pool which had a fun bartender and great drinks and a pool with sea view. Service was awesome - the chef got sick and there was no serving in the hotel restaurant, so the staff from the hotel got us a taxi so we could go to out preferred restaurant and back to the hotel free of charge. Very positive experience! AND SUPER COMFORTABLE BEDS!
Cons: Some of the staff didn't speak very good english, so communication was a bit hard at times. Beach at the hotel was not suitable of swimming - but we knew that when we booked the place. There was quite alot of trash at the beach.
7.0 Good
Cons: All the bugs in the roo5
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Silent and in the beach
Cons: Smaller as shown on the puctures
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The Resort looks maybe a bit different to other ones, but it is really nice and silence Resort to enjoy the nature and the island and can charge the energy. The stuff is really friendly and helpful. Everyday cleaning the rooms and get new towels and water. The breakfast have a good choices and for vegetarian/vegan they make it you like. Beach will clean up all day. Really nice for all, Single, Couples and Family. The Resort feels more rubbish baskets than in all Thailand together
Cons: The smell inside the house at first moment was not the best. After starting air condition and the fan all gone better.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice stay very quite place and friendly staff. Could had some coffee in room. Front beach not suitable for swimming though. Nice food at the restaurant but beware of the opening hours
Cons: No coffee in room
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nice and peaceful place. Luca was such a great person and help me alot.
4.3 Okay
Pros: Clean room
Cons: The women who is owner of this resort was no service mind. And she were talking with us so bad.
7.5 Good
Pros: The price is reasonable. The rooms are very simple but quite big and comfortable. Lucca and his wife went out of their way to assist with information and suggestions of what to do on the island. There is a restaurant at the resort as well as other places not too far where one can have meals.
Cons: Sea View is a bit far from everything if you don't ride a scooter but on the other hand the island is so small that it is possible to walk everywhere. We spent three nights there and the room was never serviced during our stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Clean comfortable rooms with good aircon and fridge around a beautiful garden. Motorbike for rent in the resort. Decent food at honest prices. Luca the owner is very friendly and helpful. He and his wife prepared a splendid bbq'd fish for us. If you like a relaxed place, this one is highly recommended!
Cons: No pool, but enough sea and other pools around ☺️.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Owner and wife are lovely and helpful. They provided us with tips of best beaches to go to amd local area information. They arranged free pick up from the ferry point and organised pick up to ferry point. Great customer service.
Cons: The bathroom require deep thorough cleaning, taps, mirrors and sink looked dirty. Generally the bathroom need to be maintained to a good standard. Far away from beaches, hiring a scooter is a must, this can be arranged at the property. Otherwise the room was cosy, clean and up to scratch.
6.8 Good
Pros: Luca is very kind and helpful. The view from the resort is very nice and the garden is amazing. Rooms are very basic but neat and spacious, they might need a fan to alternate with the A/C though. Breakfast is very good and fresh.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful and peaceful location. The rooms are big and comfortable. Luca and his wife are great hosts. The neighbourhood is very quiet.. The restaurant serves good food, and here, there's no sandflies..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The manager Luca is very kind and speaks perfect English. He asks you which dock you going to arrive and he sends and taxi to pick you up for free. When your settled, he gives you information and advice about the island beaches and restaurants. This is a very nice personal touch and very useful. The rooms are clean and comfortable. If you have a low budget this is the place to be! You get a lot for the small fee you pay.
Cons: The head of the shower was a little lose. There were big ants that entered the room below the door.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: WOW what a beautiful place to stay. Loved every second at sea view. The room was very spacious and clean and had a very comfortable bed. Lovely little balcony with seating area and amazing sea view. The restaurant was great not too expensive and lots of choice. I particularly enjoyed the potato salad in the UK we would call it 'mash' but hey each to their own as this was one of a kind and absolutely off the scale as potato based meals go, good job guys! Its a lovely and quiet place to stay, only noise you'll have is that of birds truly beautiful spot. A little bit out in the sticks but the beaches and busier parts of the island are easily accessible by motorbike or taxi which you can order from sea view. We walked around the island as we are keen walkers.
Cons: Mosquitoes and sand flies are rife. If you are unlucky enough to be a sand fly victim you can find a little pot of pink chalk like cream at supermarkets around koh mak. Highly recommend to relieve the itch although you do have to walk around with pink spots all day.
4.5 Okay
Pros: Very helpful, nice Manager and veryvery beautiful garden/place
Cons: Not so beautiful and clean appartement

Pros: Very very nice host! Goooood food!
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Only liked 2 things. The bed was okay and the female manager there was really nice and friendly...giving advice and making wonderful lunch.
Cons: Well paid for a De Luxe room...the highest standard room at the resort. But we had to go get the included daily free water, new towels and toiletpaper ourselves. Our room was not cleaned, the sheets and linen were not changed...according to the owner because they only do that every second day....according to the manager at the resort because we were out and they had no longer an extra key to our room so they could not get into the room and clean and change sheets...and worst of all Tuesday evening it was impossible to take a shower because no water ..absolute no pressure on the water in the shower....and same situation Wednesday morning.....Ao Pong resort is best described as Hostel like conditions at a De luxe rate.....we paid more for staying at this resort than we paid at a fantastic resort 3 km away with facilities several classes above Ao Pong Resort....and with swimming pool and better beaches, decent shower etc.....

Pros: The hut has a stunning view, Fai is a sweet lady that always tries to help and we loved her, her cocktails and the view from the place. The dogs are so sweet and the vibe is really chilled.
Cons: We didn't know the pool was out of order =(
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The crew, the tent and the view are really great.
Cons: Breakfast was nothing special, can be a bit better
5.5 Okay
Pros: Nice personal.
Cons: The location is not very good. There is no beach. Many small repairs have tobe done during our stay.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The owners are very nice. Food and drinks also
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent and the staff, especially the owner, was very friendly. The beach and the sunset was amazing.
Cons: There are a lot of dogs and they barked every night. Also the motorbikes are in a bad condition.
7.5 Good
Pros: good bungalow good lokation friendly pool
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff at the place were the most welcoming I have ever met! The owner Fei did everything I asked for and was willing to help me with everything.
4.3 Okay
Pros: The sunset view is amazing. It’s nice and peaceful.
Cons: The staff were not welcoming at all. I read the reviews before hand and saw that everyone loved PK. I guess he wasn’t there during my stay because I paid for the room and then the staff said “tent” without showing me ANYTHING. They didn’t tell me that the bar and restaurant was closed and I would need to rent a motorbike each day (200 baht) as there really isn’t anything within close walking distance. The motorbike came with 0 fuel so before I could even go around the island I had to try to get gas. As another person before me has said, the dogs at night are VERY loud. They bark and growl at 3am and it is impossible to sleep. The shower is disgusting and I felt better just swimming in the pool. There is trash all around the property, water bottles, old construction material and whatever else people don’t want to clean up. It seems as though the place is closed for construction but they are still taking guests. Even the sign on the road in says “closed”. I have been backpacking Asia for 4 months and this is one of the most disappointed I have been with the lack of resemblance between the pictures and the actual accommodation. Small note the tent is only good if you are maybe 5’10” or under.
6.3 Good
Pros: We liked the view & the quiet location, with only birds singing, jungle sounds & the occasional dogs barking. Size of sea view bungalow is sufficient for two, featuring desk & chair with a kettle, wardrobe (which we did not use as it smelled really mouldy), and another shelf to store clothes. The porch with the sofa is great and has a good size., we loved to chill on the terrasse together with the dogs that kind of adopted us during our stay, they were very protective of our bungalow :). Free Coffee day & night was certainly a plus!
Cons: Despite having called a few days prior to our arrival, nobody bothered to pick us up at the port. Check-In was slow, nobody was around and we had to wait until nearly 3 pm, bungalow was not cleaned yet, and we had to specifically ask for a cloth drying rack (all other bungalows had one). The mattress was covered with an extra-thick coating to prevent the springs from pressing through... but we could still feel them and would advise a change of mattress soon... The shower is a raindrop shower which is nice, but a nightmare if you have to wash long hair. A heavy storm in January 2019 washed away a good part of the restaurant that sat on stilts, so there was no restaurant service at all, also no breakfast was served, only free coffee was available. As an alternative to the breakfast, we could use 1 motorbike for the time of our stay, which was OK for us.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The little swimming pool, perfect to refresh. The fan into the tent.
Cons: The shower is so durty and very simple. The dogs at night are so loud. The electrical cables outside the tent from the fan completly wet after a rainy storm, really dangerous!

Pros: Very clean hotel .Super position over looking the bay .Very quiet .Staff pleasant especially lady on desk .Rooms nice size with nice balcony .Good selection for breakfast .
Cons: Sometimes staff gave the impression that some of them didn't quite know what they were supposed to be doing . Did not like the doors to the toilets being left open .Smelt unpleasant ! The pool shower has seen better days .It needed a good clean . We don't always get what we ordered for breakfast .Lost in translation maybe .
9.5 Excellent
Pros: All of it even when we had some tiny language problems
Cons: Pool shower needed a good scrub
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel with an amazing view from the pool. The women (owner of the hotel I guess) was very polite and spent a lot of time to help us to book all transfers to mainland/airport. Comfortable beds, clean rooms. Good (but a bit expensive) restaurant. It may be difficult for someones walk up to the hill, but you can rent a bike at the hotel and they will lift your bags and you from( and to) the boat. Thanks a lot!
Cons: nothing.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Advantage of this hptel is the pool with the view!!
5.0 Okay
Pros: The location and the view. It’s high up on a hill (and not right by a beach) but the views are amazing and you can head in three different directions and access amazing places within minutes from the hotel. Very sweet staff who don’t speak English, but they still do their best!
Cons: Shockingly run down and in great need of care! The rooms are dark. When we arrived we were given a room with ants and spiders in it.. ants on the floor, on walls and in the bed!! We complained and were given a new room which only had ants on the floor. The breakfast was terrible. Bathroom was ok. The first two days the pool was really dirty but it seemed they cleaned it as then all of a sudden one day it both looked and seemed cleaner... they should however clean it daily! There are signs EVERYWHERE saying what you’re not allowed to do.. it’s strange and as a guest you are constantly tip toeing to “stay out of trouble”. We talked to other guests during our stay and all of us felt weirded out about the place.. one couple told us how the manager had stopped them and showed them a photo taken in their room of a towel laying on the floor. They’d hung the towel up but it had fallen down and they were being told off like children for it being on the floor (!!!).. that’s not ok! Would we stay again? Absolutely not! Has it got potential? Oh yes!! This place could be amazing if it had the right owners!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff outstanding friendly and helpful. Location and view is fantastic.
Cons: Aircondition did not work propperly. Only instand coffee for breakfast.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Everything is nearby, staff was wonderful and the whole island is nice.
Cons: Pool bar was closed during our whole stay. Restaurant closes too early - at 9 p.m. so every night you need to go outside of hotel premises.
6.3 Good
Pros: Swimming pool is the top View from the hotel Hotel appearance
Cons: Quality of the food for both breackfast and dinner Too many restrictions from the person responsible from the hotel Book directly on the hotel website othewise you pay up to 7000 bht more
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, infinity pool
Cons: Unless you are able to fire a scooter you are a bit isolated but they will go out of their way to help. We rented scooter so no problems
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The front desk lady ... amazing , very warm welcoming and very helpful and honest .
Cons: nothing

Pros: Location was good, right next to the beach
Cons: Staff were not so helpful, even when we had troubles getting out of the island they did not try to help at all. beach was a bit dirty. Pool was closed for 2 days.
7.5 Good
Pros: Prime location, next to the pier, good food, sea view and peaceful.
Cons: My leg had been bite by a midge a lot.
6.3 Good
Pros: Right on the beach! Staff in the restaurant were lovely.
Cons: Reception staff weren’t very helpful, the whole hotel could do with a bit of an upgrade! This is the second time I’ve stayed at this resort and it has certainly worsened over the last few months.
7.0 Good
Pros: Nice staff. Pier. Breakfast.
Cons: Salt water from bathroom tap. Room which where provided at first had broken lock to the bathroom, dripped water from the ceiling and was without sea view (pool view and trees). After informing about damages - room was changed.
7.5 Good
Pros: Nice spacious bungalows with a beautiful beach view.
Cons: The mattress was a bid hard.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is a great spot to enjoy and explore Koh Mak. We had a deluxe sea view too. On 3rd floor and enjoyed looking out over the sea. Large room with balcony and inside lounge. Beautifully located restaurant area on water front. Food is reasonably priced and there are lots great options for food within 2 -10 minutes flat walk. Also supermarket and pharmacy nearby. This was a great mid range option for accom in Koh Mak with aircon and pool and sea views. Looked at lots other places around island when exploring and were very glad to we choose this resort.
Cons: The pool gets a lot of sunlight during the day so tiles get very hot and water is warm. Resort is showing some signs of ageing, particularly stair railings exposed to weather.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Great island , and nice hotel (bungalow front sea) but can find better place in better beach . This one have a lot of stone in the beach and is easy to cut your feet when you swim . Any way we loved this island and the way local people keep it clean and no plastic area . Good way , Thailand’s should learn from them .
Cons: Laundry outside the hotel smell bad and was missing some clothes .
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Kind and friendly straff who will do everything to make all your needs fulfilled. Although theerir English may not be the best and misunderstandings may occur. Great for kids.
Cons: Sandflies... If you stay there, make sure you have spray to protect against these bugs. Only walked on the beach, never lied down. Have more than 100 bites..
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice place. I didn’t get any info from property if they will pick up from the pier but they did. Staff was very nice.
Cons: Too many bugs on the beach and the garden outside the property area. Can’t sit or lay down for sunbath.
5.8 Okay
Pros: 1) nice location 2) nice Western breakfast 3) friendly staff and pickup service from pier was good
Cons: 1) bugs in room 2) dirty beach 3) cleaning guys did not change bed sheets 4) Thai food is not so good 5) dirty swimming pool

3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Nice breakfast and helpful staff
Cons: It's not a hostel, just an old room in the middle of nowhere with 10 beds and 1 bathroom in horrible conditions with shower/toilet in it (not enough for busy hours). plugs very high so if you don't have a long wire, you need to hold your phone while charging. Very bad atmosphere for solo travelers. Windows near the beds without stores, so obliged to wake up with the raise of the sun.. Beach only minutes walking, but considering how small the island is, it's quite far..
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The place is in the middle of the island and everything is just few minutes away with bike which you can rent on property. You have small shop and beautiful restaurant just on the side. The room is just beds and shared bathroom, but the Koh Mak is so beautiful you'll come just for sleep.
6.8 Good
Pros: Very nice owner. The owner was very kind and could help you anytime. Food was good and playing pool in the evening was really nice.
Cons: Sleeping in a dorm that has a temperature of 30 to 32 degrees is just not doable. I was sweating all the time and had a difficulty of falling asleep. Two fans is just not enough, and there should be at least one aircon!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Cleaness
Cons: No WiFi at property
5.5 Okay
Pros: Only a 50 baht taxi ride from the pier Next to a mini Mart and sports bar.
Cons: Beds were awful, bars and springs poke you all night. Only one bathroom for the whole dorm, only somewhat clean. Upon check in, staff didn't seem to have a clue what to do, makes you feel like you're in the wrong place. Not welcoming at all.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, thank you!
