8.3 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location of this hotel. They have thought of absolutely everything in this hotel. Loved the coffee machine too and being left milk was a nice touch.
Cons: Nothing I can fault apart from the pillows. They are so uncomfortable we couldn’t sleep at night.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, location was great, apartment was so clean and modern, and the price! Would definitely stay again if I go back to Reykjavik!
Cons: Slight smell from the toilets
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room was lovely, quiet (not street side) and had a nice view. But in truth, I think it was Agnes (who greeted me upon arrival) that really made the stay great. She was always smiling and helpful. Great location.
Cons: I cannot think of a thing. It has been mentioned about a slight odor from the bathroom drain and I thought I smelled it too but so slight and we kept the door closed anyway.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely interior design, comfy beds, quiet, great location and extra clean. Well-equipped kitchenette.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I LOVED 41 - Townhouse Hotel. I would stay here again. It’s a perfect location. The staff is very, very nice. The room had a mini-kitchen, including an espresso maker, which was perfect. And a nice touch - they put milk/cream in the fridge upon arrival for your coffee. I loved everything about it. Highly recommended.
Cons: Because it’s on Laugavegur (the Main Street for shopping, eating/drinking), it can be loud - but that’s to be expected.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: There was an outstanding espresso machine in the room, which I never see in the USA. I had to look at YouTube to operate it. Everything was clean and in good working order.
Cons: The shower water would get all over the bathroom floor and there were loose tiles. I was stressed thinking about water leaking to the floor below.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location was perfect- right in the centre of it all. Could pop across to the bakery for easy pastries
Cons: Oven was included in the self catering- but no oven trays/ dishes to use the oven.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very cool bathrooms and rooms. Perfect for family up to 5
Kvosin Downtown Hotel - Reykjavik - Building

With a stay at Kvosin Downtown Hotel, you'll be centrally located in Reykjavik, steps from Laugavegur and 3 minutes by foot from Reykjavik City Hall. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. Limited parking is available onsite.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Rooms were lovely, nice breakfast and helpful staff, really great facilities and decor.
Cons: Nothing, everything was lovely.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The receptionist (Chantelle) was exceptional and went above and beyond to be helpful and kind. She really made our stay. The bed was exceedingly comfortable.
Cons: The breakfast wasn’t included and was expensive. There was no wardrobe space.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I don’t typically book hotel stays on booking.com, nor I write reviews. But this boutique beauty is worth recognition! Its location, quality of service, and the attention to detail of every little thing in the suite is simply IMHO second to none. The aesthetics of the interior is simply pleasant, relaxing and provides a warm feeling, especially after a windy cold day outside. The overall experience had exceeded my expectations beyond those five-star hotels I had visited. It is a perfect sanctuary with an excellent memory foam bed and a fully functional kitchen that can entertain your inner culinary spirit on the road (don’t cook lamb though, as I did, and I feel bad for the scent it left behind). Love love love this place, and will highly recommend those who visit Reykjavík. Oh, and did I mention, unlimited Nespresso...
Cons: Nope.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, great rooms, friendly staff.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was excellent, staff very welcoming and helpful, room very comfortable and clean. Fridge and coffee machine much appreciated. Shower great! Nice cakes in the afternoon to welcome you home.
Cons: Nothing really...
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is in a perfect area if you like to be central and close to shops, bars, restaurants, the opera house and the famous church. We had room 401 which was the whole of the top floor (amazing) it has balconies on both sides so great to look out for the northern lights if they make an appearance, it was also lovely and warm. The hotel is spotlessly clean and the staff are friendly (in fact all the locals we met were super friendly and funny with a great sense of humour) Breakfast was delicious, our only problem was that our trip we booked and the bus back to the airport was early so we didn’t get chance to take our time and enjoy it as it wasn’t served until 7.30. They did however pack us up a takeaway breakfast the second day which was a nice touch.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Modern decor, central. Good shower.
Cons: Breakfast was a little basic.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Convenient location Great staff Room facilities and design
Cons: Not enough parking space

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Yummy breakfast that was included; personable; delicious food at GOTT, happy hour which kept drink costs low
Cons: Everything was great!
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Room, hotel, breakfast, all perfect and would recommend
Cons: The staff needs more training or more staff. Upon arrival, with 2 kids and 5 bags we had to take out the luggage, put it in the trolley and take it to the 2nd floor by ourselves as there was no one to help. Asked for help for parking but very little info was given. I had to find a park without the help of the hotel. Asked for water a couple of times, the mini bar is complimentary (good) but they ran out of water bottles! Last day, during breakfast there were a lot of things missing as there were only two people for at least 30 guests. For example, orange juice ran out and they didn't have any more. great hotel, still a lot to improve.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location was brilliant. Breakfast was very good indeed. It wasn't OTT with the choices but sufficient for anybody I would suggest
Cons: Nothing

Black Pearl Luxury Apartments - Reykjavik - Building

9.4 Excellent (221 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Black Pearl Luxury Apartments in Reykjavik (Downtown), you'll be steps from Reykjavik Harbour and 5 minutes by foot from Reykjavik City Hall. Featured amenities include a business center, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. Self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Black Pearl provides comfortable, modern accommodations in a great area of Reykjavik. The staff was friendly and professional, and our apartment was wonderful. I was torn between hanging out in the apartment and seeing the nearby sights and doing some shopping.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, close to town and restaurants, shopping, tours and night life. Staff was great!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The apartment was excellent. Big, tastefully furnished, Very well equipped kitchen, very high quality glasses, plates, coffee machine, dishwasher, fridge, freezer, oven, hob. Everything was top quality and sparkling clean. Perfect for evening in, if you don't want to go out. Staff were very helpful, 24 hours reception desk. Very good parking in the building (at a reasonable price, for Reykjavik). The location is perfect for a city stay. Close (5 minute walk) to the old town, and good restaurants. Bakery across the road. Close (5 minutes walk) for more casual places to eat (including, for instance, fishbaron, which is in most of the guides). Close-ish (15minutes walk) to the harbour with good (also in guides) places like brewery, food hall, excellent pizza, etc. and for supermarket for buying food. 10 minutes into town for the wine shop, and convenience store. Easy route from airport, if you are driving, all main road, and then straight to the apartment. I could imagine being quite happy, spending a day or two curled up with a book and TV, cake and coffee if the weather was horrible.
Cons: We couldn't find the TV channel for watching the Iceland-France Euro qualifiers.....
10.0 Excellent
Pros: perfect stay on the perfect place, nearby harbour, on the city center, but very cosy and quiet place with garage for few cars.
Cons: nothing
9.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was excellent!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff are incredibly helpful and attentive. Nothing but good things to say about this place. Location is an excellent base for walking around shopping and restaurants in downtown.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff, location, spacious, closets, full kitchen, view from penthouse balcony.
Cons: Hard to find something to complain about. But if I could give some constructive criticism then I think control panels weren’t amazing... curtains and balcony lights wouldn’t move or turn on from the panel. I wish there were some light switches for quick nighttime use.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our apt was very spacious, clean and comfortable. The location was excellent and the staff was beyond helpful.

Pros: Everything about this hotel is fabulous! From the location to the decor everything is thoughtful and inviting. It was such a great surprise to us the breakfast was served each day, it was made so well and I even got ideas for how I want to make breakfast at home!
Cons: Nothing! We had such a great experience. Thank you!!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful hotel in a great location! The rooms were very nicely decorated, very clean and comfortable. Breakfast was awesome and daily ‘Taste of Iceland’ tasting was a nice touch. Finally, the hotel was well priced. When next in Reykjavík I’ll definitely be staying here again!
Cons: There wasn’t anything I didn’t like!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Stylish and elegant with good location
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The hotel decor in this hotel is really well designed. The lobby, the lounge, the restaurant & the rooms were all super cool. We loved it! We stayed in a really great room. It had a living room with a pullout that our 2 year old slept on & a great big king in the bedroom. The bathroom had a really cool clawfoot tub & big shower. I loved the decor in our room! Blackout curtains were great as we were jet lagged & the sun doesn't go down in the Summer iceland. Breakfast was yummy & the coffee was excellent. Everything is VERY expensive in Iceland but this hotel was pricey even for Iceland. Luckily we had a free night from hotels.com do we only had to pay the taxes. I'm very impressed with Canopy by Hilton though & hope to stay in another one of their hotels.
Cons: It was a bit noisy as our room was right on the busy road side of the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Funky artwork and decor in a clean spacious hotel with good size rooms and bathroom. Lovely shower and good bed and pillows. Good location from main shopping street and easy walk to tourist sites. Left very early in morning and got breakfast picnic basket prepared for us. Nice touch!
Cons: Parking was annoying as roadworks around the hotel prohibited entry to the garage advertised and we had to find street parking or another garage

10.0 Excellent
Pros: The best spot in town to visit Reykjavík by yourself
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Comfortable and quiet rooms, nice to have a kitchenette to prepare quick meals.
Cons: About 10min from the city center, but Reykjavík is a small city and you have a lot of shops around. Self check-in can be a bit bothersome.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Great attention to detail fine finishes good location parking
Cons: no staff on site as arrived late
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Location was great, walking distance to all attractions within Reykjavík. The studio apartment was really nice, with everything you need... comfortable bed, strong pressure shower, good heating and ventilation, well-equipped kitchen with pots, pan, cooking utensils, kettle, salt & pepper, dishwasher, fridge, electrical stoves... I stayed here for total 7 nights! The best accommodation I had in Iceland! P/s: I stayed here during autumn (mid oct), so the heating was good. Not sure during summer if it would be too warm..
Cons: The yellow lights and the dark colored wall/furniture could be difficult to see clearly in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room quality and location
Cons: Lighting in the apartment. Too dark
10.0 Excellent
Pros: location and the room.
Cons: not enough light, very dark
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Privacy. Quiet. Modern. Small. Short walk from bus station and downtown main strip and church.
Cons: TV channels were comical. 800 channels only about 25 worked and all were multiply duplicated... But who goes to Reykjavik for the television??? Still, it could have been easier.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The decor in the room was nice and the location was close to the shopping district. The kitchenette was very useful as well.
Cons: The bed was two singles pushed together which made it a good size but the duvet didn’t cover you well when you were in it so we were always fighting for covers.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast, decor, toiletries, reception staff
Cons: Only complaint was fri and sat night noise coming from the street was terrible so we didn’t sleep at all. This is not a problem with the hotel and unfortunate.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Great location, comfortable bed, clean rooms.
7.0 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: 1- Room 221 with annoying noise from exhaustion system from out side. 2- Area for breakfast too small. 3- You need to pay extra for a cappuccino... ?????????
9.0 Excellent
Pros: My husband and I had four nights here and we loved the hotel. It is in a great location in the centre of Reykjavik with bars, restaurants and shops all very close by. The hotel is small and feels intimate and boutiquey. Staff were welcoming and polite. The breakfast is excellent - all fresh, quality produce, plentiful and well organised. The bar in the evening is very relaxed and happy hour good value. The room was lovely - and the bed deserves a review all of its own - the best I have ever slept in. The room and bathroom are not large but perfectly adequate for a couple and a few days. The whole place is stylish and very welcoming after long days outside.
Cons: Downsides - there appeared to be some kind of live music or band practice going on in the afternoons nearby which was very loud rock music. This wasn't at night, but if we popped back in the afternoon for a rest, it was quite disturbing. Not sure where it was coming from. It's a shame the bar doesn't open until 5pm, they have a lovely communal lobby where it would be nice to sit and have a drink or a glass of wine during the day. Finally, and this is obviously a niche gripe, I don't understand why hotels don't put shelves in the shower. I hate having to put all my toiletries on the shower floor and bend down to get them with water everywhere. So easy to fix!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast was amazing which was a bonus. Location fantastic, right on the main street.
Cons: Latte with breakfast isn't included in the price, you have to pay on top.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location New hotel
Cons: Missed our flight with 7 yrs old, was charged for 1 night stay as was “too late to cancel “ and had “no insurance “. Would be nice if there was some «deviation” from the policy in this particular situation and in customer service for the whole Iceland. I felt like nobody fights here for their tourists. I guess a climate plays a role here .... Next time definitely would NOT stay here, as there other options
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Super stylish, great location, good breakfast, kind staff.
Cons: The mattress are too soft and at night may be a little noisy.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location was very nice and the dinner staff was great.
Cons: Room was exceedingly small.

With a stay at Alda Hotel Reykjavik, you'll be centrally located in Reykjavik, steps from Laugavegur and 7 minutes by foot from Hallgrimskirkja. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was great. From the atmosphere and decorations to the people working there. The front desk staff were amazing and friendly. They were always ready to help and had a smile on there faces everyday. We got a family sized room for two people just because I heard the rooms might be smaller. However the room was bigger than I expected including the bathroom. You hear that the shower doors fold to make more room. However even extended there is enough room for the other person to use the sink or get ready. The hotel gives you a cell phone with data included, which was honestly amazing. I made the phone into a wifi hotspot and was able to use my own cell phone throughout the trip. Just bring portable charger with you as the phone battery dies quickly this way. The hotel is also located on the main strip and perfect walking distance from restaurants and bars. But a few blocks down so you don't hear the noise of the bars at night. We never tried the breakfast downstairs as we always had say trips planned in the mornings. There is a bakery down the street that is open early I can't remember the name of it but the front desk told us about it. Big enough to sit down and have breakfast, but gets packed as well so give yourself enough time if you have morning plans. The room does come with a pot to make your own hot tea and instant coffee if you are in a rush.
Cons: Hard to say what I did not like about the hotel. The only thing I can think of is that the room gets very warm and with no thermostat to control temperature. We opened the window everyday however it only opens a tiny crack and doesn't stay open on its own. Probably from the wind outside. Just bring light pajamas with you and you will be fine.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location and view.
Cons: Smal room, not much storage room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel. Clean rooms, helpful staff, nice amenities, fabulous location. Stayed here with a few friends for our four day visit. The location is very central to great shopping, restaurants and bus stop for excursions, Highly recommend and will definitely return.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location with plenty of parking nearby. Good sized room. Breakfast buffet well worth paying for. Disappointed that I didn’t have time to use the sauna and hot tub!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: excellent foods and staffs were very friendly convenient too
Cons: none
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very nice htel, right in the middle of Reykjavik!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location in the center of Rekyavik. Walking distance to the vast majority of attractions. Lots of stores and restaurants in the area in multiple price ranges. Hotel staff great! No issues during stay. Rooms extremely clean!
Cons: Prices for food ie breakfast and at the hotel restaurant were high for most touristy destinations, but appropriate and inline with other facilities in the area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this property was lovely. The location is great. The staff is so kind and helpful. I have a son with autism and it was so nice to come back to our room after a day of touring.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly welcome. Nice lobby. Great sized room which was clean and modern with all facilities including a smartphone with free data. The location is very good with easy and cheap parking on the side streets, and walking distance to access the rest of the city.
Cons: The shower is a bit small, but it is not a big deal.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: Somehow this isn't mentioned on their website or any reviews I've seen, but Hotel Alda gives each guest an android smartphone in lieu of a room phone. This phone works throughout Iceland, has reception on speed dial, and has all the other bells and whistles you'd expect of s smartphone: maps, activity guides, etc. A great and welcome surprise!
Cons: Unfortunately for the hotel, but fortunately for Reykjavik generally, there is a bit of construction going on near the facilities. Not a big deal if you're getting up early to go on an adventure, but if you intend to sleep in do ask for a room on the other side of the hotel. This advice should be good through the end of summer 2015.

9.2 Excellent
Cons: Maybe a kitchen will be useful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The flat was amazing, extra comfy and in a perfect location! It's a great location as in 2h drive in any direction you arrive to the most popular sights. We even saw the northern lights from a spot just 100m away from the flat - not hard core lights like from the fancy photos, but still! :). We also met Sandra and her husband, both super nice! We will be back very soon!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great place , 5 minute drive from Reykjavik . Conveniently located near bakery, grocery stores. Subway and Domino are just outside the apartment. Spacious, modern and very clean apartment , high ceiling is very high gives the room a luxurious feel. We also enjoyed large screen smart TV. Check in and check out super easy with codes, no-key/card. Loved it !
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean and comfort
Cons: No
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect pied à terre for our stay in Reykjavik. Clean, well furnishnied, and close to acces road.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Close to Reykjavik -only less than 15min by Car , 38 min to the airport . Parking right outside the door. Grocery Shops and nice bakery literally across the street. Nice view from huge window and quiet area . The only think I was missing was the cooker but I had microwave and toaster so all good (I traveled so much it turned out I didn’t have time to cook anyways). Very clean and warm !!
Cons: There was no cooker in the apartment , only microvawe and toaster /small grill.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: cosy and convenient place Big room and nice view

Pros: Very clean and comfortable place. Sandra was quick to reply to any inquiries we had. Small grocery store across the street as well as a couple restaurants. Easy to get to from the airport and quiet.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had just a quick overnight stay here so we were up and gone to the airport very early. However had a few drinks before beds d the staff were lovely hotel warm and clean
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The hot breakfast was outstanding, toast, eggs, beans, sausages, variety of cereals and some fruits and all drinks. It was one of the main reasons we chose Skuggi compared to other hotels. Additionally the superb location in close proximity to most things you would need restaurants, supermarket etc.. and bus stops for all tours departing were under 10 minutes walk away. Staff were happy to give us extra towels when requested and store our luggage for us after checkout. The room itself was comfortable, clean with kettle and hairdryer and more than served the purpose.
Cons: I think that there could have been more ventilation in the room, we found it to be a bit stuffy after having had showers, and then used hairdryers and there was only a small window but really not a major problem just a suggestion. We were on the fourth floor. Staff were initially a little cool in manner but some very super friendly so again no big deal.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Friendliness/politeness of staff, close location to all attractions/shops and restaurants, very comfortable bed and curtains that did their job = great nights sleep. Secure free parking and great complimentary breakfast.
Cons: Liked the modern feel to the hotel, but found the use of grey and black a little drab. Not a deal breaker though!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our room was big, the bathroom was big, the bed was big enough. Plenty of space for our suitcases. Centric, close to the waterfront. The best breakfast buffet we had in Iceland.
Cons: No tour pickups there, but they are close enough.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice property located in the center of Reykjavik, so close to pretty much everything. Decent space room, comfy bed and friendly staff. Enjoyed it.
Cons: It has nothing to do with the hotel, but indeed the wind was devastating these days. :)

Pros: It’s home away from home! Friendly staff, good rooms, very clean, free coffee and tea all day..very comfortable bed. Cozy!
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Location - great. Just a short walk in to the main part of town. Breakfast - extensive choices. Fresh cooked eggs would be only improvement. Tea & Coffee and fruit provided free in the Common area. No tea/coffee in the room though. For those that want coffee in bed before they get ready this isn't ideal, but grabbing a coffee/tea before you go out or at breakfast, its great. Staff were all lovely and the room we had was lovely and clean. It was quiet too. No noticeable noise outside. Plenty places to sit in the common areas and bar looked great. We only used for a glass of wine but there was a happy hour period for reduced price drinks.
Cons: Have probably covered that above. Very little I did not like. Only some suggested improvements.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It's a great hotel and the rooms are cute and comfortable. I really loved the bed, im difficult with these but this bed really was great. The staff were very friendly and super helpful the entire stay. The only "downside" was the location is a bit away from the center but the upside it is nice and quiet without the noise of the center. All in all I really recommend this hotel for a comy stay in Reykjavik.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The bed was extremely comfy, and the room was very stylish while still having a comfortable atmosphere.
Cons: It was just a bit expensive but worth it.
5.4 Okay
Pros: Nothing of note.
Cons: No mini bar/fridge. No room service. No in room tea or coffee facility, although there was free tea and coffee in the foyer. Limit tv channels and no air play. Deluxe room was small. Bathroom had no ventilation fan. Staff not particularly friendly.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Quiet. Reasonable price. 24 hr staff, coffee, and apples freely available
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful staff, great Happy Hour, breakfast. Please note below: I am not from Norwalk, CT. I am from Windsor, CA.
Cons: No!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I found the Eyja Gudsmeden Hotel to be modern and clean. The common areas were cozy and a great meeting place to have a drink and a snack and relax. The staff was incredibly helpful. I would highly recommend staying here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We arrived at the hotel at around 1pm and were expecting to drop our luggage off and wonder around the city waiting to check in, but to our surprise our room was ready early (which made us very happy after an early flight). The room is spacious, clean and cosy with excellent facilities and the location was everything I was hoping for. No longer than 5 minutes walk to the main strip of restaurants and shops and sea. Also a great location as all the trips we booked offered pick up from the hotel (some hotels dont offer pick up and so you may have to make your way to a bus stop.) overall our stay was lovely and after a long day out in the cold it was always a homely, comfortable place to come back to. Couldn’t recommend enough:)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Spotless clean rooms. Nice decorated rooms. Coffee and tea all day. Friendly and professional staff. This hotel feels like home.
Cons: I liked everything in this hotel
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great breakfast and service all day long! Wonderful happy hour!
Cons: It is about a 25-30 minute walk to the Main Street. But a brisk was to the pier and sun voyager

Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, multilingual staff, and luggage storage. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
6.3 Good
Pros: Location is great but to be honest the city is tiny so anywhere would have been walking distance to the main transport links and attractions. The shared kitchen is set out well with the ability to share food so less waste.
Cons: Multiple hairs found on the bed sheets..ugh! One of those hostels were you have to both make your own bed and remove the sheets afterwards. They dont provide towels for free. Staff arent always available at reception - I didnt find them very welcoming and friendly. Check in time for 3pm is quite late considering all they do is clean bathroom. Lockers under bed are pathetic..size is too small and fiddly to use. Padlock not supplied either. Breakfast is quite limited for the price. The walls are thin so even though my room was two floors below social area, I can hear noise through the night. I didnt mind but it's not a quite hostel. Just feels like the hostel isn't trying to make your stay convenient and stress free.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best facilities, awesome common spaces, kitchen, strong wifi. Very clean and well-appointed rooms. Staff is very kind and helpful and not arrogant even if the bar area attracts trendy clientele
Cons: Street noise required earplugs (but the location couldn't be better so it's understandable)
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Staff was very helpful and pleasant with tours, directions, getting back to airport, and any other questions people had. Breakfast was sufficient for a hostel and this was good because eating out could get pricey in Reykavik.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Loved the accommodations and location
Cons: Staff was a bit rude and didn’t have any fun activities like most hostels do. As a solo traveler I rely on those to socialize but it was more of a hotel feel.
9.4 Excellent
Cons: Great
7.9 Good
Pros: Great location, friendly staff
Cons: Very expensive
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Great central location. Staff are lovely and the bar is a great hang out spot. Good value for money and good to meet other solo travellers.
Cons: Breakfast is not great. The pillows are not very supportive! The bar shuts at 11pm.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Terrace where you can meet northern light, location middle in the downtown, kitchen with enough facilities and utensils. And the ‘swap point’ was an absolutely brilliant idea.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Big, clean room with gorgeous views of the lake. Comfortable beds, clean bathroom and free hot chocolates/tea/coffees from the lobby. Restaurant meal was excellent and we had the sauna and hot tub to ourselves for over an hour!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Clean Friendly staff Nice restaurant
Cons: The superior room was fantastic, but the shower drain was slightly blocked which partially flooded the bathroom floor. The water in the standard room smells a bit like egg (although this is common in Iceland, probably not the hotels fault!).
7.0 Good
Pros: The male receptionist was very kind, he also stayed up until late to check the northern lights as he would have come wake us up in case they showed up. Our room was quite small, the facilities are quite rustic but overall clean. Unfortunately we missed breakfast so cannot comment on that, but they did gave us juices and a small square of cake as we were late. Grea location by the lake, very scenic and wonderful if lights show.
Cons: Small room, separate beds when we requested a king bed. They could have been more accommodating since we were late for breakfast and we already paid for it, situation not handled in the best way.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: the food from the restaurant was very good, the breakfast was a little limited but certainly good enough.. the free tea and coffee all day long was a very good addition. staff were all very helpful.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: We were tourist traveling around Iceland.. At times we had a difficult time understanding the road directions. Some of the staff were very helpful at steering us in right directions for places we wanted to see & activities we wanted do. Food looked awesome & plentiful. We, however, did not partaking in the buffets. Views of Iceland were awesome.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room, hosts were very nice - liked their breakfast
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Breakfasts excellent
Cons: More choice needed for dinner
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is situated outside of Reykjavik, about 45mins from the Keflavik airport. We stayed here on our first night in Iceland and had actually planned to go into Reykjavik for dinner. However, after checking in we decided to spend the evening there. The staff was super nice and the atmosphere in the hotel was great, it was cosy and welcoming. We were even lucky enough to spot the northern lights!! Really recommend to stay here when you arrive in Iceland!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: After 18 hours of flying, Kriunes Hotel was kind enough to let us freshen up at the hotel- even though we were arrived very early. The chicken curry was delicious and we were well informed about the northern lights appearing.

Cons: Nothing really, but it is a bit outside of the ciry centre - 8 mins drive but ok for us as we planned to head off immediately.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: Hotel Lotus was perfect for our first night in Rejkyavik. It was easy to get to by car, and we were able to walk to the city center with no issues. The hotel itself was simple, clean and very comfortable. The owner/manager was very nice and gave us recommendations of where to go (swimming pool, city center, etc.) while we were there. 9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very clean, the beds are comfortable.
Cons: The rooms are really tiny, there is no fridge or safe box.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is a little bit away from the very center of Reykjavik which means that it's generally pretty quiet at night and since Reykjavik is so walkable, it's not really much effort to walk to pretty much anywhere you want from here. After staying in a few other noisier spots in town, I found this location to be preferable because it's close enough to restaurants, bars, and museums to be convenient, yet isolated enough to get a good nights sleep. While there's no food served at the restaurant other than breakfast, you can get a coffee, beer, or wine at the small hotel bar.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Bus stop 12 is right outside so very easy pickup and drop off for all tours. If you’re leaving very early in the morning, tell the staff the day before, they can arrange a packed breakfast for you. Staff were very helpful, took care of our delayed luggage while we were away on tour.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I really loved the hotel. Its about a 5 min walk either the shopping/bar areas or the water! But the staff was extremely helpful with everything!! They kept the hotel spotless and were great at suggestions for everything we inquired about! I would definitely stay there again!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at the storm hotel was wonderul. The person at the desk even went out of their way to call our tour company when we missed out bus. The tour company sent a small van to just pick us up. So thankful for that desk person!

Pros: Great location. Very convenient.
Cons: No air conditioning. The rooms were stiflingly hot.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Nice location
Cons: Our room was not very clean, especially the bathroom. The room was outdated and we couldn't open the windows for fresh air to get rid of the bad smell. Cannot recommend for the price.
6.0 Good
Pros: near to Reyjavix ,shopping and transportation
Cons: old carpet
7.9 Good
Pros: Nice choice at breakfast and quick check in
Cons: Room was pretty shabby - although clean
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean and they added anew extra cot in our room no charge before we arrived
Cons: Shower water smelled like sulfur
7.5 Good
Pros: Friendly and helpful staff.
Cons: Rooms are small - they need serious renovation. Our curtains were broken - could not close them during the night. Bathrooms are tiny. There should be a place to separate a shower from the rest of the bathroom. The whole floor would always get wet. Furniture looks like from 1983. Also, nobody cleaned our floor for the whole week (how do I know it). I dropped a piece of cookie next to the table and nobody picked it up for the 6 days we stayed there. Also, nobody cleaned the patio outside.
