The proprietor welcomed us very warmly and gave us a choice of rooms. We chose a room with a spectacular view over the river and castle. Dinner was superb (especially the smoked wild boar) and breakfast one of the best continental breakfasts I've had.
Excellent location , beautiful view, clean rooms, nice food and service
The view and the nice breakfast
Douche was without a curtain
Excellent breakfast in a lovely dining room with a good view overlooking town. Friendly service.
Evening meal menu not very extensive and quite pricey. I'm sure the food was excellent, and the setting was superb, however, I do feel there should have been the possibility of eating in the hotel without spendong a fortune!
Personal care from the owner made this a do again. Rooms rather basic but breakfast were memorable. Views of castle and town were excellent.
The food the owner is an excellent chef and the dinner menu was interesting and the food delicious. A very pleasant surprise.
The hotel is a certain sort of antique style. It would not appeal to those who like something modern. There were blankets on the bed and we prefer a duvet.
The host and his wife are very friendly and speak many languages. They're also excellent cooks (we had two great dinners)! The hotel has a nice lounge with a view over the river and La Roche. Breakfast is more than complete with crispy fresh breads, juice, boiled eggs etc. We can absolutely recommend this hotel.
We didn't mind, but the wall between our room and the next apparently is rather thin, and therefore not very soundproof. Other sections of the hotel may be better, we don't know.
Our room was at the very top of the hotel. We had to carry our luggage up a narrow staircase. No elevator. The emergency door was marked to remain open, but it was locked at all times except when we brought in our luggage.
The position of the hotel with fantastic view, the breakfasts and helpful staff
