The decoration, the location, the welcoming, the food. Slow internet connection.
Peaceful spot close to mountains, easily accesible by road. A charming hotel with good sized rooms and a good sauna, hamam. Drinks were good next to an open fire and the restaurant offered a good value menu which was scrumptious.
This hotel had the best staff and service ever. I have stayed in many hotels but I was completely amazed, everybody from the cleaning lady through the barman and porter to receptionists.Very children friendly. 10 plus. We liked everything, it was perfect. We did not have a car and the hotel made sure we had their driving service available all the time. Room was cosy and very clean, view amazing, room service excellent, Our little one was very happy too
The feeling of being home away from home We liked everything!
The friendly and helpful staff, the cosiness of the hotel and the cuisine at the restaurant.
Wonderful staff so helpful and considerate who seemed to enjoy their work. This hotel is a warm and welcoming place that you immediately feel at home in. Hopefully will be back.
Location was excellent. Room was clean
Location to the ski lift. Breakfast a little stayed.
Proximity to the ski lifts and centre of town
The location was really great. Being charged for car parking at the hotel. which was not a concierge service or underground, the car park was outside the front door of the hotel.
The hotel is well located in the town but the annex is on the outskirts. The hotel is perfectly positioned for trips to the mountains. We were located in the annex which is next to a busy main road away from the town centre, the hotel is not. When booking a room confirmation should be given that the room is in the hotel or the annex
Staff were very helpful in booking local restaurants etc. and arriving at 4 in the morning was not a problem
Good breakfast. Staff varied from very polite and helpful to not very helpful and at times aloof.
Very close to cable car - less than one minute walk. Great breakfasts. Very close to main France/Italy road, but triple glazed so no problem really
Reception staff efficient and helpful; room excellent. Restaurant reception not good. Food and ambience poor.
Two 15 year olds and two dads right next to the lifts for skiing, excellent The hotel has two different buildings, so not to every ones taste. Food average but OK
Everything. I strongly reccomend this hotel to everybody. The best mountain hotel in italy
All personnel was very kind and the breakfast was outstanding. The manager was inreasonable on a request to move us to a more quiet room after a delivery truck woke us up after the first night at 7am. The hotel was far from full so it was possible for her to change our room. The bed in our room was very hard.
Exelent service! Kind personal! The hotel is new and cosy!
Causy atmosphere, lovely design, attention to detail, personalised service During the first days of our stay the breakfast buffet was poor. Then it was enriched by the day, as more and more tenants arrived at the hotel and it (the hotel) reached acceptable capacity. The TV channels could be enriched with more international channels.
The sound of the river could be heard if a window was opened a little, which was nice. The rooms were very clean. The staff were friendly and helpful. We were disappointed by the lack of balcony in our room. We had a view of a stone wall from a very low window. There was no bath, only shower, which was a little cold. The spa was very minimal and the furniture uncomfortable, and cost 12 euros for the use of the pool. The breakfasts were great, but we were met with stares and comments from other guests who seemed unused to people of other ethnicities (no fault of the hotel, of course). Once, we were locked out of our room.
Super nice room (mixing wood, stones etc), well located in the small village of La Thuile, free parking at 50m, free shuttle to skilifts. Wellness is small but nice and enough. Restaurant staff (3 out of 4) completely unattentive to guests (barely a hello, no interest to see if need a coffee or whatever, no menu in English and limited ability to translate); food ok but nothing really particular as a 4* should be - full price (we paid 50%) would have been painful - we also had a guest in the next room who left his dog inside and barking the whole day - not the fault of the hotel (more the stupid owner of the dog) however no real intention of the hotel owner to do much about that dog that made very nervous a few guests
exceellent staff and location
Staff very helpful excellent service Poor Spa facility extra charge and having to book day before. this not stated on the website or booking .com
during time that i stay in hotel i like hotel staff and comfort atmosfire.Everething was very well. no
The quiet location just at the bottom of Mont Blanc and Grandes Jorasses as well as the understated but friendly presence of the owners. The local restaurant is also excellent.
Friendly owner Maurizio,..Grazie per l'ospitalità! Just an overnight stay, we enjoyed the hotel, the location, the spectacular scenery and the excellent service. Had good evening diner with (also) spectacular rain/thunder(short). Also a brief and good conversation with some friendly word-travellers from Australia. It's an inviting place to stay. We will surely be coming back here some day. Rooms were good and silent. Breakfast is perfect. Groeten uit Holland/Greetings from Holland, Gerard, Greta en kinderen (Benno/Sjoerd) ( firstname.lastname@example.org)
The hotel staff went far beyond what we could have expected to make our stay a success. We had severe travel problems which the staff helped us resolve and turn posible disaster into a great holiday.
The owner was very friendly and accommodating, a good location for sking and walking.
friendly owner and wife! friendly staff. thought the rooms were quite outdated. am not familiar with the prices in this area but thought 140 euros for a room was way too high in summer season. breakfast buffet was extremely limited.
The owner knows the area.
The owner and his wife were wonderful and helped with tips about the skiing and even helped push my car when it got stuck. The rooms were very comfortable with great views. There is a small friendly bar too.
The location is next to the cable car station. The cable car took me to Aiguille de Midi 3850M in France in a spectacular manner.
the quality of the yougurt served in the breakfast all was ok
Clean, homely and freindly
definitly the location and the cleanliness
the hostess were very kind , the boss too no
Was clean ,cozy, close to cable car for ski.perfect for 3 star, can not really ask more. Only thing we disliked was restorant dinner. No prices in the menue !!! Very strange !Poor and very simple meal selection in menue and for surprise later, when we found out the price(when we cheked out)was too much !!!
Lovely situation in the shadow of Mont Blanc, and the town was really good. Right to the old main road to Mont Blanc Tunel so quite a busy and noisy road at times.
Location poor breakfast assortment, no fresh fruits
The Hotel Walser was convenient to the town centre and some of the staff were charming. The hot water was not really hot, the dining room was chilly and they tried to overcharge us.
Feels like a home away from home. If you need something ask and it will be done no complaints
Excellent location (a short walk to the bus terminal), helpful approachable owner, cozy ambiance, nice view, garden, games and books for the guests.
Close to the town and mountains No
The views were excellent, with quick access to the Mont Blanc tunnel etc. Breakfast was good and the staff helpful The proximity of the hotel to the ski lifts was poor. There was no bus from the hotel to the skilifts. It was a long walk in the mornings and evenings.
Value for money and a very good location Everything was good except the temperature (too warm) in the room
I was pleased with the ability of the helpful staff to speak English and French as well as Italian. Room was a good size with a fine bathroom. Quiet location. Very handy to the main tourist office and bus station. Very good location for hiking on the Tour de Mont Blanc. The view was not great - it looked out into the exterior lobby area of another hotel.
Hotel most suitable for families as there was entertainment for children and adults on both evenings we stayed but we had a lovely room which was suprisingly quiet!
The staff were very helpful and efficient and the breakfast was wonderful Feel a little cheated that the sauna was an extra 15 euros each and that there wasn,t a shuttle provided to the ski lift like most Hotels of this size.
Convenient access to town, ski bus stops right outside Don't eat the sausages
Room was great, food was good too. Location is convenient, although noise from the main road in front of the hotel is significant. Staff tried to be helpful, but the level of English is very low. So it is very difficult to communicate or get any information without decent Italian.
The staff were extremely helpful. They very kindly did an English translation of the menu just for us. The waiters were attentive and entertaining making each evening meal a fun experience. The room was on multiple levels which added interest to the stay. On one day we did not want the room cleaned and put up the do not disturb sign. This was ignored on two occasions by knocks on the door whilst we tried to sleep.
Clean comfortable and good value for money
It was very relaxing and the staff were very helpful, we thought the price was also very reasonable
location very short beds!
Friendly staff - helpful concierge. The staff were offered much better service, much friendlier than rated and more likely to serve out of hours drinks than last year. Booked a twin room and ended up with a double room which we did not feel comfortable about. However the hotel did find a compromise and moved a spare bed into another larger room. So we did feel they had sorted this out. Just disappointed because we had booked it more than 6 months in advance. Also in a party of four and rooms were 3 florrs apart . ie. nowhere near each other. Had a better booking (i.e. rooms) last time through an agency - don't know if this is because of the agency or availability.
Very well located. Good view of montains. Breakfest is a little bit poor.
Central position, ease of parking, close to ski lift Noisy - very little sound separation between rooms certainly on top floor and between rooms and staircase.
Second time in this very nice central hotel. Good room with view and good breakfast. Nice staff.
very central bit of a walk to lifts
Nice hotel in the centre of the village. Professional and helpfull staff.
the hotel was very clean and very centrally located. the room was pleasant and comfortable.
Very good location for getting to the ski slopes with free onsite parking.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast buffet was large and varied. We had them do a small amount of laundry and the bill came to about 60 euros. The concierge did say there would be an extra charge but we did not bother to ask how much, so we would not fault the hotel. We simply should have taken it to the laundromat a short distance away, and would probably have spent about 10 or 15 euros.
Great location, very nice and helpful staff very bad lighting in the bathroom, especially since it looks like it was just renovated
Location was quite good. Front desk staff was good while restaurant staff was too stiff (mostly). But also overall people in the town are somewhat uptight and not as friendly. Shower area was too small. Overall feel is just ok. Also noticed several old couples staying over so not sure if hotel targets this profile. Finally noisy sometimes. One of the nights, rather late a big group arrived and was chatting rather loudly.
Location, room, hotel furnishings. Most impressed with helpfulness of the reception staff. Room was a little too warm during the night.
Staff was excellent - couldn't have been more helpful Hours of spa were very limited (after 4 pm) Would have been nice if it was available in the mornings
It was very cozy, and all the staff was full of hospitality.
good front desk service, nice rooms, big bathroom slowly breakfast service
the location of the hotel was great. It had parking. It had a shower. Nice breakfast as well as as a price fix dinner at night. the pillows
THe rooms are quite small and haveing no aircondition makes sleeping in the summer impossible We were given a back room on 1st floor and could not open the windows because people from next houses could just walk in.
Getting to the hotel was an adventure by snow cat, amazing position, wonderful skiing straight from the door, nice staff, very unspoilt area and no people, food was good. Their English was poor, Stephano was nice but seemed to think we would know where to meet the snow cat, how to take our skis back to the shop and meet them at the given area etc. We did not feel it was right to be charged for our coffee after dinner and for the snooker, it was an expensive holiday and it left a bad taste in the mouth even though we had a lovely time.
The size and way the room and bathroom were appointed, the way the Hotel was decorated, the village of Courmayeur is exquisite and the Hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful in direct contrast to most of Italy.
excellent friendly service- see trip advisor review docbob
The staff, extremely graceful, friendly - made us feel special No, we can't wait to stay there again!
Beautiful antiques in an extremely well designed traditional facility. Impeccable taste in decor, good breakfast. They led me to believe that dogs were welcome, but then turned me away at the restaurant because I had my dog with me. I had specifically asked if dogs were welcome in restaurant - they said yes and I made a a reservation. This is a hotel in the country not a sophisticated big city restaurant. I still don't understand what the problem was with the dog, having gone to restaurants all over Europe without encountering this.
Every detail was just perfect...the staff treated us like royalty and it was more defintiely a highlight of our honeymoon. highly highly recommend!
Comfort and friedliness
The staff was really excellent with amazing attitude - friendly, helpful, polite. Way above all hotels we have visited during our trip (6). Booking superior room was really worth it as we had a small terrace (not balcony) with sunbeds and extraordinary views of the neighboring mountains. Breakfast was good (for Italian hotel, which are usually below average on this point) and location is very good (close to city center). Have to try the thermal spas of Pre Saint-Didier! A little expensive, but that is Courmayeur standard! Limited parking space.
we were driving from Italy to France and stopped for 1 night, the hotel was reasonably priced and the scenery is spectacular. It was a perfect place to stop (near to the Mont Blanc tunnel) and a comfortable and clean hotel.
Charming hotel with outstanding staff Very Clean and comfortable Great location for strolling the town but not in the middle of all the traffic the front desk staff could not be more welcoming and helpful Carmino?not sure of spelling fabulous breakfasts loved our stay >We enjoyed our stay so much we went back for 4 more nights. perhaps more pillows on the bed I do love a bathtub
location, peacefull atmosphere, style Poor breakfast of packet biscuits. overpriced food
Kindness of staff. Hotel is an ancient typical house furnished with historic objects. Breakfast, good selection and quality. Nice and quite location of the hotel, small parking lot right outside the entrance. Very close to the cablecar to Mont Blanc summit, 5 mins drive to Courmayeur and at close distance to beautiful Val Ferret.
Friendly helpful owner, nice room
everything was superb, the rooms were great, the staff was wonderful, best location in town, comfertable and great views.
I was very good. For a week end in love, it is a good choise. The Staff , the location the breakfast were excellent. No negatives points, only compliments
Kindness of the staff, location in the ski resort
Very friendly staff made you feel welcome and at home. Breakfast was fantastic.
very clean & well furnished. Hospitable staff
lovely, relaxed, pleasant atmosphere. great breakfast, comfortable bed and bath. ask for a balconey room!
Everything was excellent. A very warm welcome, fantastic facilities and they even provided me with a range of wheat free breakfast alternatives, because I am gluten intolerant. I had not been expecting this and it was an example of the very high attention to detail the owners and staff at this hotel have. Very highly recommended.
After staying in huts while trekking around the Mont Blanc Massif, it was such a luxury to stay in such a comfortable and friendly place. Sauna was great, breakfast was amazing. Location excellent.
The piont of the site is very beautifull, also very lovely and silent.
Right on the tour du Mont Blanc - so an excellent spot for those who want to chill out in Courmayeur without breaking the bank. Good summer value at 70 Euro bed and breakfast. Breakfast was excellent, room clean and comfy. Staff helpful and happy to store rucksack on final day.
Room was basic, stuff was nice. Breakfast was good value for money. The hotel is a bit walking from Courmayeur.
Very friendly staff, incredibly close to ski lifts and good breakfast.
Very helpful staff, and cosy atmosphere.
We were well received in this family run hotel and the reception staff went out of their way to inform us of the local attractions; The room had a pleasing outlook over Mont Blanc and was convenient to the autoroute. Stopping here overnight meant we did not have a 2 hour delay at the tunnel. we would have preferred to eat in the hotel in the evening ,but they only provide breakfast.Even a light bite might have been preferable to going out in the rain, although our host did kindly provide an umbrella;More information on local restaurants would have been useful; The one we were directed to, could only best be described as adequate, the service there was terrible.
