easy tofind, very helpful and pleasant receptionist, clean and comfortable. probably the best edge of town-overnight stay-budget chain-hotel we have stopped in and the town of Orbec is very old, very nice a delight to wander around and we found it very reasonably priced we will definately go back but it will have to be two nights next time. nothing we did not like about this hotel
friendly service, clean and quiet room, very reasonable price
Being able to book in anytime, clean room and good shower.
Pass Old fashioned and shabby. Collections of old radios in every corner don't seem to have been dusted for a long time.
Parking outside the room. Although just a plastic foam matress, the bed was surprisingly comfortable. Would have liked bacon and eggs for breakfast, or at least some meat products, like ham, for example. A DVD player would be an advantage to those guests who don't understand French as there are no english programs to watch on TV and, in any case, the TV reception was very poor quality. If you then rented DVDs for the night, you could make a bit more profit, perhaps? Tea/coffee making facilities in the room would be appreciated, as supplied in the UK.
Acces Breakfast was not always with fresh bread
great value, nice English speaking staff . Ok breakfast . Hard to find. Near the roundabout on the way out of town. near carrefour petrol station
Clean, modern hotel in quiet location Beds very hard, no coffee-making facilities, room quite small and basic
Clean and comfortable, pleasant staff, relaxed atmosphere, country location although train line and main road very close.
The room was well designed and comfortable Our shower leaked so there was a pool of water in the en suite when we arrived. Perhaps this should have been noted before and dealt with although this didn't spoil our stay in spite of wet feet!
Only stayed one night on en route to South West France. Ideal stop over hotel, rooms clean and breakfast good value!
Easily located from the motorway. The facilities are excellent and its lacation next to a really nice restraunt an added bonus. I and my friends would be very happy to recommend it to others needing overnight accommodation or a longer stay.
Welcoming, efficient and friendly
Ease of access from motorway and the room was quiet. The staff were friendly The wifi system was hopeless - they need to replace it
Good facilities, pool, spacious reception, clean, easy check in. Rooms OK but a little basic.
Often use this hotel as it is ideally located for a stop-over en route to other parts of France. Good restaurant next door. Staff always very friendly and helpful.
Very convenient stop off for travelling from UK to South France
Weekend reception staff rather indifferent.
Is clean and tidy with a fresh look
Very central location with plenty of parking space across the road from the hotel Bedroom could do with a bit of redecoration / modernisation
Location, good quality-price relationship Problem with wireless in the room (I had to go to connect to reception), a little bit old fashioned hotel not luxurious but right and clean for the price paid. Good service at reception desk
grande chambre. very agreeable with not expensive price
Close to city centre Rooms in need of updating
Very good overnight stay during our journey south west, 2 rooms booked for mine and my friends family, all 8 of us pleased.
Lisieux is an excellent middle point to visit Normandy- D day beaches, Mt Saint Michel, etc. The Best Western is in the center of this very cute little town and has excellent service and rooms. We loved the three nights we spent there.
Extremely good central location in Lisieux. Good sized comfortable rooms and decent facilities. Breakfast was varied and would cater to all tastes.
We had a lovely light and spacious family room with a large bathroom with bath and shower. No tea or coffee making facilities in the room, quite noisy at night and warm as it is not air conditioned
The staff were very pleasant and helpful. It was quiet. Comfortable. Nicely decorated. No facilities for making drinks (we British love our tea!)
The efficiency and friendliness of the staff no
Hotel meal was very good and staff were friendly and helpful No bad points really
wonderful staff, great location for St. Therese sites
the staff were competent and friendly. it was very central to all the sites
Restaurant very good, though wine was a little expensive for what was offered. Reception staff very obliging. Cleaning staff courteous and did a very good job. Room was tired and shower did not work properly, there were better rooms in the hotel and I would have preferred this option when booking. Hotel was unable to offer a better room on arrival because it was full.
Convienient stopover useful to have restuarant on site food not too bad but not what you would get in local restuarant hotel next door considerably cheaper not much less standard. Staff could smile a little more
Usual Campanile quality, style, value and helpfulness Hotel has an automated check-in system, which meant that guests were arriving right through the night. Woken at 01:15 with loud bangs and then suffered a constant arrival of people through to 03:30, the rattle of each diesel engine and flurry of slammed doors heralding yet another arrival. Not pleasant. This is a larger (3-storey) building and it's a terrible sound box, easily transmitting noises between rooms. If you want to hear people coming and (quite literally!) going all night, then stay here and enjoy the experience! Never again will we use this hotel, and we will avoid others that have an automated 24-hours check-in system (look for the green kiosk that looks like a cashpoint, next to the main entrance). This is a shame, as the rest of the hotel was good and the staff very helpful.
Good overnight accomodation. More of a motel.
Excellent Value for money
Clean.Good basic facilities.Quiet. Easy parking. Pleasant restaurant with good simple food.Good to use enroute.
We stayed here because we had a car and did not want to have to negotiate the streets of the city and also find a place to park. It was in a perfect location for day trips to various spots in the countryside, which is what we did every day. It was very convenient to all the major roads of the region.
Breakfast and dinner were good value. The hotel turned out to be on the wrong side of Lisieux for the business my son and I had in Normandy (clearing a house we had sold). So we only stayed one night. It's not the kind of place I would have chosen in other circumstances (like a Travelodge with better food) but the above is the sole reason for moving on.
very small room, when opening the third bed impossible to get to the bathroom, very unfriendly staff, actually a B&B on the highway for a night's stop over. Maybe acceptable for business travellers
wifi access / off street parking cleanliness in general was poor / no tea making facilities / room was just basic box with bed and tv / hotel was dirty and unkept / no warning ref: street market blocking you in on saturday morning / staff spoke no english /
The hotel was situated in the heart of a beautiful town, with easy parking. Fairly clean, comfortable beds. Extractor fan of Chinese restaurant outside window; blankets old & a bit dusty; shower scruffy and pooled; no drinks available in hotel.
It was only a stoppover but was in a good position for parking and a good choice of eating out nearby. Breakfast was excellent best croissants of the holiday!! No
A perfectly adequate inexpensive room. Pleasant staff. Good breakfast. Bare walls - no bedhead - needed another pillow or two.
staff attitude, original paintings, close to shops etc Willing to listen to comments to improve service.Very friendly. limited parking space, we had a small modern bath in one room this time, next time prefer shower.don't know about rest of rooms.
Location, free private car parking The room was fine, but maybe in need of a freshen up
Staff/owners were very friendly and the dog was not charged for. Room was short on comfort but the price was reasonable.
Is was basic but ok for a short stay The rooms all smelt quite strongly of cigarettes. Opening the windows in the children room was a problem as there was a lot of noise from cars. We ask to be close to the children but were at the opposite end of the corridor.
Locality close to shops etc. Bed a little uncomfortable and sleeping on mattress waterproof protector.
Very comfortable, benefitting from a town centre location. the staff were very friendly and made you very welcome. The market on saturday morning made it awkward to depart.
When we were eventually able to book in, we found the room booked for us to be quite acceptable. The resturant provided us with a very good standard of food which was well presented and typically 'French' (good!).A good place for a one-night stop-over. We were advised that our rooms would be available from 12.30. However when we arrived at 15.45 we found the hotel locked and seemingly deserted. Eventually at 16.30 'management' arrived and we were able to book in. Fortunately the weather was good, so we sat in the rather unkempt garden and waited.
Easy to find, convenient, lots of parking, value for money and extremely welcoming hostess Restaurant closed on a Friday evening which was a little inconvenient on a transit stay - but good food was to be found in the village a couple of minutes drive away.
Room clean and a good size for a quad. Arrived late but staff helpful. Good journey stopover point with ample parking. A little off the motorway but well signposted.
Good for an overnight stop, very basic, but clean, friendly, quiet, nice local village with a couple of decent restaurants. Breakfast was 24 euros for a family of four, which really bumps up the cost of the hotel.
The location of the hotel close to the village, the size of the room and le petit dejeuner all made it a welcome break in our journey between the Dordogne and Calais.
Friendly staff, family rooms, clean, good value, restaurant on site
Perfect matc price/quality. You have fast internet, a good TV and all necessary basic tools you need for basic sleeping. Do not expect any luxury, rooms are small, bathroom is in plastic, beds are not too comfortable, coffee to be taken from a machine. Do not take the breakfast in the hotel but go to Leclerc just outside the hotel for a fresh and cheap breakfast
Easy to check in/out. Fairly calm and quite. A bit far from city centre and good restaurants.
Interconnecting room was priceless as was the breakfast option. Location is outstanding for visiting Lisieux
Clean room, easy access from main roads.
Easy access during the day, and reasonable prices. A little difficult to find for the first time. No nothing.
The rooms were clean and the price was great. A great location with restaurants and stores nearby.
Excellent hotel and staff. Wifi would not work until the television in the room was switched off and unplugged. Hotel was full, and breakfast area too small staff struggled to cope, and we had to wait for a table.
Once in Lisieux it was easy to find the hotel which is on the Paris Road behind the town's McDonald's. It is also beside a large Le Clerc supermarket where you can get a three course lunch and free water for under six Euros. It is easy to access St. Therese de Lisieux's family home and Carmel Convent from here by car. The gentleman at the front had worked in Dublin for two years and was very helpful. We had a nice stay in the hotel and in Lisieux. There was good parking outside and it is only two and a half hours away (by car) from Cherbourg port.
The price was very good and the hotel offered free internet facilities and a simplistic approach to entering and exiting the hotel. There was almost no need for any staff.
The booking in was very easy I would have liked a kettle for tea and coffee in the room to have made it more comfortable.
This is a pleasant hotel on the outskirts of Lisieux and is very efficiently run. My room had a skylight window which did not open. There was no air conditioning, but there was a large fan which did help.
meals and informality in dinning area level of door closing noise late evening, could have been cupboards being slammed not closed too.
The facilities are decent, if a bit bland. The hotel's restaurant is excellent. The bathrooms are equiped with 110 and 220 volt outlets which was very useful. The hotel is located on the edge of town in the industrial area. It is not convenient without a car and the neighborhood precludes any type of ambience. The cleaning staff does a very average job of servicing the rooms each day. The rooms do not look fresh when you walk in. Also, WiFi is available but not free while other hotels in this chain offer free WiFi.
The staff were wonderful. They were very friendly and helpful. When we could not get a taxi home on one of the evenings a staff member came to collect us. I would certainly recommend the hotel.
We were using the Hotel as an overnight stop on our way south and for these purposes it was fine. The booking and checking in process was very effcient and your staff were friendly and helpful. The meal in the restauarnt was very pleasant.
Location was excellent The 5 am morning call that we did not request or require
The hotel was a perfect stop over on our way to Bordeaux. We were arrived very late, but the staff were very accommodating, making sure we could get into the room outside of check-in times. The room ewas very comfortable and the location very peaceful.
Comfortable bed - if rather small for a modern double - and with nice clean, fresh sheets. Surroundings are wonderful, if only they hadn't been let go to rack and ruin. (See below). Nice staff: we felt rather sorry for them, clearly working under difficulties eg receptionist in the morning also had to make breakfast as requested as well as take money. They were positive about the coming improvements and obviously liked their new boss, who had good ideas to make the place more comfortable and attractive. The whole place oozed neglect: we understand a substantial building and overhaul is scheduled for this winter, but really the rooms (ours, anyway) are so shabby: wallpaper peeling from walls; dated furnishings; scruffy-looking bedcovers; a bath that fills in dribbles from a clearly blocked system; inadequate hot water supply. Coffee provided in rooms but you had to go to the corridor to a communal kettle if you wanted to use it! We decided it was adequate for our purposes - one night stopover - so definitely not worth a complaint, though when I made a mild comment about the age of the room, was told 'nothing else available' though the hotel was clearly largely empty!
Very nice people working in there, good position in the nature Be careful, the name on the sign on the road is different! However, it's the only big yellow sign on the way out of Vimoutiers
Beautiful setting, very warm welcome. Excellent service, very accomadating. Rooms are very dated and although we had hot water in the shower, we couldnt run a bath. A light fitting fell on us in the morning!
