friendliness of staff
Hotel is situated halfway up the hillside with lovely views over the harbour. Staff were very welcoming and friendly particularly the dining room waiters/waitresses who were very attentive. Fellow guests were mainly retired people like ourselves.
Service & location
the feeling of being somewhere special made to feel special and the surroundings both inside and out. nothing
The room had everything needed for stay. Loved the extra little touches eg: real coffee, horlicks, choice of tea.The free in room breakfast was great. None
Comfortable and spacious rooms with glorious view, sauna facilities, extremely friendly and helpful service, excellent brakfast Nothing - apart from the fact that it might be nice if there would be a (slightly less expensive) alternative to the six-course-menu
The room was very comfortable and very relaxing. The views from the hotel are stunning and the public rooms were beautiful. The cost of dinner was prohibitive and we did not dine in the hotel in the evenings. There was a good selection on the breakfast menu but there seemed to be some difficulty in producing good toast!
Friendly and efficient staff who could not do enough to assist with all elements of stay, superb location.
Excellent location and views. Staff very friendly and helpful. Leaf tea, not tea bags! Low water pressure in showers cheap quality toilet rolls
Views, room and bathroom excellent. Breakfast was very good as well. Television looked old and small compared with other hotels.
~Very courteous staff, very comfortable and relaxing and wonderful views. Slight lack of choice for the a la carte menu and the set menu was both too much and a bit expensive
The temporary staff tried their best When I rang to confirm eta and with a query, the woman running the hotel had no reference of my stay, and the hotel was in fact closed for the week. She accomodated me, but with the bar closed, it was not a hotel, it was an overpriced bed and breakfast.
The food was the best Lesley Iain and Sam(the dog) very welcoming everything was great
An ideal location for not only scenery but for travelling Would definately book again. Nice homely run business with attentive staff. Food was excellent. A thoroughly enjoyable experience....
FRIENDLY SERVICE AND GOOD FOOD OUTSIDE COULD DO WITH SOME TLC
People were friendly. Old, bathroom was dirty.
We were made to feel most welcome - like a home from home. That included our two dogs - most dog friendly! They had a great break too.
Food good The room was very cold
Food (Breakfast and evening meals were brilliant)
Perfect location and very comfortable. 5 star food - no problem with special requests. lesley & Ian very friendly and helpful but did not impose on our holiday in any way. They and their staff enhanced our week in Bonar Bridge. Hotel quiet at night and we slept well and ate like kings. Highly recommended. Couldnt stay longer!! Couldnt eat more than we did!
The owners were friendly and welcoming abd couldn't do enough to deal with my gluten-free requirements. Lovely dog! The room was rather cold; it would have been lovely if the heating had been switched on before our arrival. We had to switch on the radiator ourselves. As other reviewers have mentioned, refurbishment is needed but we need to be realistic; hotel owners in the Highlands don't make enough money to maintain hotels as well as city hotels!
