Who says Las Vegas is only for adventure travelers, couples, and gamblers? Three miles south of the Strip is Cancun Resort, a family resort with lots of kid-friendly features. While this is a Diamond Resorts International time-share hotel, non-members are welcome as well.
The main draw to the resort is the pool area featuring a large pyramid and hot tubs. On one side of the pyramid, a cascade of water flows down from the steep steps to a buzzing pool. On the other side, four slides open to a quieter, less crowded pool. Hot tubs are spotted around and underneath the pyramid. A barbeque area with patios and tables are a family favorite, but the on-site restaurant also serves American bar-style food. A spa and gym are available to guests, as well as an activity center and game room.
Accommodations at Cancun Resort are large apartment-style villas with multiple flat-screen TVs, fully-stocked kitchens, jetted tubs, separate living room, and spacious balconies. The rooms are large and cozy made to resemble beachside cottages. Even the smaller one-bedrooms have enough room for a family week-long vacation.
Though the Strip and other attractions are a 15-minute car ride, the resort offers plenty of amenities to keep kids entertained. With spacious and comfortable villas and penthouse suites, this desert resort offers the ideal getaway and one-of-a-kind family-friendly off-the-Strip experience in Las Vegas.

Cons. Faster Wi-Fi
Pros. Like the pool and the water slides
Cons. More restaurants and or another bar
Pros. Pool was nice
Cons. My only issue with this hotel/resort is the cleanliness. Upon our arrival, first thing I look at is how clean the hotel is, that’s what matters most to me. After a quick inspection of the place to kind of see if everything works properly, we found the living room sofa had unknown white stains on it, we had to cover it up with a huge blanket to even sit on it. The master bathroom floors were dirty and bathroom towels had hairs on them . Toilets and bathroom sinks kept clogging so we had to call the maintenance department to take care of the problem. There was also some electrical issues going on because every time I hit the main living room, it shocked me a few times. No good. The carpet in the dining room/living room was stained. It had a huge stain of what I can only assume was coffee that was spilled all over it. It had obviously not been cleaned because no one ever bothered to clean it up. When I spoke to the receptionist before our arrival, he said to me the suite had been cleaned and was ready for us. Is that their idea of a welcome? My take is, no matter how nice it seems on the exterior and how big the pool is, if the rooms are not clean, I’m not staying here again.
Pros. The pool grounds were nice. You could tell they take care of the upkeep for that area. As well, the bar staff was super friendly.
Cons. Overall dissapointed with my stay. When I checked in it was smooth, but I had to wait till 5 pm to check into my room. After check in, I was harassed about not wanting to buy a timeshare. I tried to use the Business center and the fax and printer machine was not working. When I tried asking for assistance. No one could assist me.
Pros. The experience was amazing
Pros. Pool was great
Cons. Staff needed to look more professional Room service took forever Not everyone in staff smiled or said hello Room needed to be updated
Pros. I loved the seclusion from the Vegas strip And the privacy from other rooms and guests
Cons. Parking was the only issue. With that said only because of the heat
Pros. Beautiful hotel and we liked having a kithenette
Cons. Extra 20.00 per night fesort fee on checkin and pressured to listen to timeshare seminar
Pros. The staff was friendly and attentive
Cons. We did not know that this was a hotel that is part of Diamond Resorts and that upselling you was there primary purpose. We would not have stayed here if we knew that. They had 3 stars on Yelp which was the primary reason for staying
Pros. Spacious, comfortable, free Wi-Fi
Cons. Did not know about a $22.40 so called "usage fee" that was charged at check-in. Did not appreciate that at all.
