A very comfortable hotel, where the staff were exteremely friendly and helpful. The room was spacious well appointed and very comfortable. Being only a street away from the railway line, the train noise through the noight was really bad!
The decoration, the ambiance, the cleanliness
The hotel is beautifully restored, still kept ethically to the original style of building, however, with a modern touch. Really nice rooms with beautiful bathrooms! We had a room with a balcony overlooking the lovely Mediterranean. We chose to dine at the hotel 3 nights of our stay. We where here served a three-course dinner consisting of classic Italian food which was well-prepared by the chef. Everyday we experienced both the hotel and the rooms as being clean and well-kept. A small welcoming hotel which deserves a “+” in association with its 3 stars.
LARGE BALCONY COMFORTABLE ROOM. FREE INTERNET. COFFEE COLD FIRST THREE BREAKFASTS THEN WHOLE BREAKFAST AREA IMPROVED
It's not like me to leave a bad review. This hotel is in a good location for Chiavari but question why you want to be in Chiavari anyway. Nice to visit and shop for a day but stay somewhere else. The room here are very unispiring. Rooms dull and small. Town dead at night. Not a great place.
Friendly staff at reception, great location the breakfast staff were not very helpful, coffee was brought when we had almost finished eating.
The location was great. The amenities were good. Great to have air-conditioning. We got many bites from bed bugs.
Staff were very helpful with toursim tips and we arrived quite early and they let us go into our room before check in time.Breakfast was great
Very helpful staff, nice music in breakfast time, a nice sunny terrace, nice neighbors.
Friendly and helpful staff, the hotell was clean and nice, the location of the hotel was great There was no air conditioning. I would have preferred freshly baked bakery products on the breakfast.
The suite we stayed in was ideal for a family. L'Albergo e favoloso
Great location in a pretty and vibrant town Dining room is dated and in need refurbishment.
It's convenient for tourist as there's car park. Hotel staff is very warm. None
View Driveway to the hotel was very steep and curvy. Suggest leaving car at bottom of hill and taking lift to the hotel.
Very friendly staff.
Service and location Room is very small and overpriced, at least, for the Easter period. Internet (5 Euro for 40 min) is practically inaccessible.
The views from the hotel are stunning. The food was excellent, though quite expensive, though not much more than restaurants in town. Staff were all very pleasant and helpful. We felt hotel was above our expectations.
Hotel is located in a beautiful lush setting with views of the Mediterranean from certain areas (restaurant, bar and pool area, some restaurants) and within easy walking distance of beaches and the shops. Other rooms have good views of the surrounding hillsides. not a big issue but people should be aware rooms are on the small side
The hotel and views are just beautiful. The staff was very helpful and spoke very good English. As in most hotels in europe, using our eledtrical devices are never easy. I think either additional adapters should be provided or more outlets??
The view from the restaurant was superb, the pool staff (especially attentive, helpful and eager to communicate) and pool facility was excellent. Perhaps I would specify a room with view on next visit.
The location is execellent. view is breathtaking, situated near the centre of Sestri Levante. The staff is very kind and helpfull. The rooms are very small and noisy.
Excellent views and a superb resturaunt with views across the bay. good pool. Rooms a bit noisy with flushing water from other rooms.
I have nothing but raves about this hotel, its accommodating staff, the beauty of its location and the fabulous food and rooms - not one has a bad view. I would say there is nothing I didn't like about the hotel. People who go there should know , because it is high on a hill you have to take an elevator down to the beach - that doesn't mean the beach is across the street from the elevator. It involves a walk through town about 6 blocks and crossing a major street.
Good location, just out of busy section of town but close enough to walk, beautiful rooms with balcony overlooking the sea, great selection for breakfast, outdoor jacuzzi was fantastic for relaxing in the evening Free wifi internet and free parking was a bonus. No shower screen and shower head was hand-held which meant water all through the bathroom when showering....
Friendly and efficient staff Air conditioning in room was marginal.
Charm, privacy, interior and location, almost everything
Pleasant atmosphere of a family run hotel with tradition and experience over the years - very appreciated. Beautiful surroundings, great location.
Suites had no Wi-Fi in spite of claim otherwise. Poor value for money overall.
We liked the quiet surrounding, location, the service.
friendly, unobtrusive staff no swimming pool!
The staff was very nice, the breakfest was very rich and tasty. the hotel has a very pretty design, it looks a bit like a palace. it's located not far from the center of beautiful Rappalo. the Jacuzzi didn't work, the bed was falling apart, the shits weren't clean. you could hear alot of noises from the main road. the flow water in the shower was very poor.
Hotel in good location. Not on the see, but not far. Really quite place. Staff is friendly. breakfast is ok Room is not cozy
Nice setting, beautiful furniture, quiet, good size rooms, close to nice restaurents, close to the beach Quality of breakfast inferior compared to hotel status and price
the hotel is very close to the beach and Cinque Terra by train .
The hotel was luxurious, the staff excellent and the food was top class. The food at the Nettuno ,owned by the same family, was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
Somewhat pricey but an outstanding location, and great and helpfull staff
Great location. Specious rooms with nice balcony. Nice outdoor terrasse - good breakfast.
People at the reception were incredibly nice and friendly. Our room was really clean and comfortable. The hotel also benefits of an amazing location, in a quiet residential area, just in between the sea front and the main shopping street. Buffet breakfast was great!
Rooms were large and comfortable, very clean. Right across the road from beach and in the heart of shopping and sites. 10min walk to railway. Front rooms that fronted the street were noisy, very noisy till very late at night. Changed to room at back of hotel and all was better.
Close to the beach, close to shops, overall nice building, staff very kind absolutely. Noise of not isolated water pipes in the room. Could not sleep when people in adiacent rooms used bathroom facilities.
great location right next to the beach, place was filled with antiques and had lots of character. Despite very central location it was a haven of tranquility. Bathroom was dated. Overall a little expensive for the standard delivered.
Nice castle hotel in a charming seaside town with easy access to Cinqueterre and Portofino area.Perfect views nice people delicious buffet breakfast.Everything luxurious and genuine. We loved it and would go back again !
The views. The lack of common areas to relax. When the weather was bad there was no where to go except your room.
everything no problems
Views from top of the hotel plus the setting
superb kitchen/chef at excellent price for value. room was huge, redone and had magnificent balcony/view. staff helped with complicated directions and internet. extraordinary location with a private park overlooking ligurian sea. liked it all.
Fantastic Location. Good breakfast
The building was very beautiful While staff were friendly we had to ask them for information e.g. where breakfast was served and at what time. some basic written info in the room would have been helpful
It was absolutely beautiful, very clean, wonderful breakfast, great restaurant and bar, and everyone was very accomodating. We hope to go back. No, it was perfect!
Beautiful hotel with exceptionally pretty grounds. Nice staff. Wonderful location No complaints
the hotel itself, cleanliness of the room, additional facilities like the private beach, courtesy and efficiency of the personnel, the beautiful location, the park around the hotel, the view from the hotel
Staff was very pleasant and helpful, cheerfully helping us with any problems or questions. The secure parking area was easy to use and inexpensive compared to other hotels in the area. (5 Euros per day). Hotel was located half way between Portofino and Cinque Terre making both an easy day trip. Cinque Terre by train and Portofino buy car (note: Driving to Portofino by car should be considered an extreme sport and not for the faint of heart)
Helpful staff. Good value breakfast. Rooms good size. Free bikes for visiting the town. Free wifi. Parking was cheap but has doubled in price recently. Position not as envisaged - thought was on the beach. Was quite expensive (but thius was high season).
Very pleasant staff and good food
Nothing Staff were not that friendly and seemed to be looking for ways to charge extras if they could get away with it. Inefficient in bill checkout proceedure.
Helpful staff and convenient restaurant across road
nice hotel, nice garden and pool.Besaide the most beautiful beach Very small room for the price
Afternoon coffee in the shady and mature garden was delightful. Relaxing around the pristine outdoor pool. The public rooms were kept scrupulously clean. The bathroom in our superior room was very cramped and in need of updating. The shower cubicle was so small it was impossible to do anything but stand there and I am not fat. The food was unexciting.
Wonderful old hotel newly renovated, but retains a lovely, historical feel. Perfectly located to walk anywhere - breakfast was outstanding! We had mosquitoes in our room - husband was seveerly bitten during our stay here.
A stylish hotel with attractive gardens/ bar and swimming pool - has an Agatha Christie atmosphere of rather sinister traditional elegance. Just by the beach - good views. Sestri Levante is a dreadful, touristy, very limited place - we wouldn't go back. Avoid it in the holiday season! We got badly bitten by mosquitoes in the pretty hotel garden. The breakfast crockery was dirty and food disapointing, mainly pre-packaged.
Location, staff, service small bathroom
The nearby beach and the swimmingpool was both excellent and the staff was very nice
Hotel is a treasure trove of beautiful things. Bedroom was very comfortable. While it was possible to have a very enjoyable breakfast, the variety of fresh fruit was limited. They need to source an unsweetened muesli and of better quality. The cheese was supplied in pre packs, as were the honeys and jams, it was a pity not to be able to sample the wonderful cheeses of the region.
We liked the hotell very much and would say that it clearly a very good alternative. Nice pools good staff. The breakfast was ok, terrible juice machine but if you ask they will make feshly squeezed juice and then its great. Sestri Levantes beach is a bit industrial with houndreds of umberellas.
It was an amazing experience: beautiful, clean rooms; friendly, helpful staff; warm, neighborhood atmosphere.
Hotel is old, with antiques all over the place and full of character
Location Staff was almost rude; zero client service
The hotelmanager/owner was very kind but he could only speak Italian. It was very old and smelled also liuke that. We could only pay cash however the booking was confirmed by creditcard.
Very complicated to pay with credit cards. Required filling out several forms
Easy to access. All elevators where working. It was a bad small in the room and especially in the bathroom. Very old furniture.
Very old bathroom in room (it may have been around 40 years old). It clearly and urgently needed updating. TV didn't work. Unhelpful stafff.
The staff was friendly, it was no problem to open the hotel bar just for us, eventhough it had already closed due to lack of people in low season. Bed was very comfortable. The rooms can be a little noisy due to the train track opposite the road from the hotel. It wasn't to warm yet so we could close the window but this might be an issue during summer. Room did not have airconditioning, something I would expect in a 3 star hotel. But from experience in this region, many hotels will not have airconditioning in the rooms. The bathroom was the size of a shoe box.
