Ocean view was great. Staff very kind, breakfast delicious!
The pool was fun.
We had a large amount of bugs in our bed on the first night. We think they were moth lava but can't be sure. We called reception around 11:30pm and they sent someone from housekeeping to change the linen. Before he arrived I must have found around 20 among the sheets, then when the housekeeper took off the sheets there was a whole family of the bugs on the mattress. In the morning the hotel asked us if we had the window open as they could have flown in before we went to bed. After that rather odd conversation they changed our room and offered us free breakfast. However, all together we paid just over $500 for three nights (includes service charge and taxes) but in our mind breakfast should already have been included for that price. We think the hotel did the bare minimum to compensate us for such a health and safety issue. Also the hotel was rough around the edges, quite dark and dingy, and dirty in places.
Buffet was great, room very spacious and clean.
Bathroom need work, problem with the toilet, shower too small.
Good, safe location, not too far from airport, Miraflores and old Lima. Beds were comfy, but as with most tropical locations, check for critters.
Can't speak for other rooms, but all three (frosted) windows in our room faced an inner shaft (can't even call it a courtyard) with windows from all the other rooms. This makes the room dark all day long. Not a fan of that, but it sure is conducive to sleeping all day!
This hotel offered a shuttle service from the airport. In the confirmation email, we were told that the service will be provided at no extra cost. We told them exactly when we were to land but no shuttle was there. We borrowed a phone to call and find out what was happening. We waited for over an hour. We were considering asking an airport taxi to drive us because it was late and we were tired from traveling. Once the shuttle arrived, he took us to the hotel. The staff has the audacity to charge us for the shuttle. We were furious not only bc we waited for over an hour to get a ride but also that it was triple the cost of the airport taxi we were considering getting. We explained that we had an email stating that there was no extra cost for the shuttle but they ignored us and said we were wrong. Even after showing them the email, they didn’t care and charged us. They made us feel terrible about the whole thing.
