The staff was very help full but they could move us out off the basement and the breakfast was very good.
Did nt like that we where in the basement level narrow corridor. And the bath room was very small.
The location was ideal, just a short tube ride into central London, staff were pleasant.
The bathroom room is in need of maintenance as the taps and plugs were tarnished, water pressure from the tap was low, the tv had limited choice of channels, there was a constant noise from a heater or generator all night, light switch for the bathroom was located on the wall furthest from the bathroom, no teaspoons in room and not enough coffee or milk, the hotel did supply more when asked, but I didn't feel I should have had to ask for a spoon.
The breakfast said continental but there were eggs, beans, sausages etc. I personally didn’t eat the sausages as Im vegetarian but the options were better than expected. Veggie sausages would have been a bonus. The scrambled eggs tasted good tho. The location was great. Also I was able to store my luggage there until the evening. There was a hair dryer in the room. The room was quite at night time, so I slept well.
It would have been nice to be told only a shower & no bath. I would have paid extra for a bath. Or gone to a different hotel. It was clear the hotel was trying to cut corners & save money where it could. There was no shower gel in the room. There was however a bar of hand soap & shampoo. No shower cap. No bath towels to use after showering. Only 2 small hand towels. No vegetarian sausages at breakfast only beef ones. I stayed for 2 nights but the 1 teabag & 1 portion of instant coffee wasn’t replenish after the first night & my dirty cup was left there too. And there were no biscuits either. Also no full length mirror in the room but space to easily put one up. Room however was very very tiny. The batteries in the tv remote didn’t work. I asked for new ones but they were just taken out, put back in again. Worked for 2 clicks & stopped again. Didn’t want to re-ask for batteries. So just watched the same channel which was annoying. These little things would have made a big difference to my stay. I’m assuming the hotel is geared at tourists not repeat customers.
Location is awesome, nice neighborhood, tube station is near with shops and restaurants.
small things really, second shower head was broken (big deal head one more to spare)
The staff were very friendly and helpful.
The building was tatty - a deluxe room was far from deluxe.. The facilities were poor..
