With Heathrow Airport easily accessible and many of London's most famous sights right nearby, the fashionable London neighborhood of Bloomsbury is an ideal base for a trip to the city. The contemporary yet intimate, welcoming Bloomsbury Park hotel is among the most elegant hotels in the area.
Amenities and Services
Bloomsbury Park has a clean and modern aesthetic and the amenities to match, like complimentary high speed Wi-Fi, flat screen LCD televisions with a range of free channels, and in-room Bluetooth speakers. The hotel is well-equipped to accommodate private events, from parties to weddings and business meetings, and the trendy Cellar Bar is usually designated for this purpose. Meanwhile, the Bloomsbury Kitchen serves brasserie-style breakfast and dinner, and the Bloomsbury Bar is a comfortable spot for a cocktail or some lighter fare.
Ideally situated near the Underground stations at Russell Square and Holborn, Bloomsbury Park is well connected for sightseeing across London. The neighborhood itself has an artistic background, and many educational institutions are based in the area. As such, Bloomsbury is pedestrian-friendly, with plenty of shops and restaurants. Major sites like the British Museum and the Dickens Museum are both in walking distance from the hotel, while Madame Tussaud's and Regent's Park aren't far by public transportation.
Room was Excellent. Front desk employees were FANTASTIC.
The outside appearance of the hotel does not look fresh (needs an outside makeover). The hotel needs a business office room with several computers and a printer to print out boarding passes and not have to intrude on the work of the front staff. All hotels have this. It's time for Thistle Bloomsbury Park.
The location was excellent - a huge amount of attracttions can be accessed on foot. Close (10 - 15 mins walk) to lots of good restaurants and bars in Soho, Fitzrovia, Leicester Sq etc.
Other than the over-priced breakfast which seems to be a feature of most chain hotels (the Starbucks next door was doing well each morning!) the only complaint was the old single-glazed windows in a room at the back of the hotel - noise wasn't an issue but in cold weather it meant the radiator was on full blast 24 hours a day especially as the en suite didn't have its own heater! In fairness though this isn't going to be a problem most days of the year in London just when the wind comes in from Siberia!
Everything worked smoothly. No problem whatsoever. Breakfast was ok.
As always in London. It feels like the people next door are in the same room. No voice isolation at all. The hotel was also under construction. Terrible smell in the hallway from paint.
The location was pretty good. The staff were helpful.
The wall next to my bed was damp with the wall paper peeling off. The bathroom was freezing!!
The Bloomsbury Park was very close to Covent Garden and surrounding area.
I thought the breakfast was to expensive, but other than that I was very pleased with the accommodation
The bed was very comfortable and spacious.
The radiator in the bedroom was very noisy but we didn't realise it was the radiator until the following morning.
Very pleasant to have tea & coffee in the room. Thank you. Staff very pleasant & helpful (except for one point - see below).
Only one point. The member of staff present on Thursday evening promised to give us an early call on Friday morning at about 6.00 am (we were going to queue early at the British Museum for tickets to the First Emperor exhibition) but we never received a call. Fortunately we also had an alarm clock, so it was OK, but if we'd been relying on the promised call we might not have been in time.
Staff at the hotel were excellent and went out of their way to help us, they were polite ,courteous, and helpful
the standard of the room and bathroom was poor
Room made up every day, clean towels, bed comfortable, staff very friendly and helpful
Room decor needs updating!
Conventient from the underground.
