We have stayed at the Lancaster Gate before. We really like the facility and the location, near Hyde park. The breakfast buffet was outstanding. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
The hotel is located in a nice quiet area. Breakfast was ok although tables are crammed together and it was a bit of a scrum. Rooms were clean and beds reasonably comfortable.
There was virtually no sound-proofing in the rooms and you could hear pretty much everything that was going on in the rooms either side. We were in a basement room and had the additional pleasure of listening to the tube rumbling past every few minutes.
The load high pitched sound of water from next rooms every time the turned on a tap or shower.
The staff were really friendly. Good location about ten minutes walk from Paddington station.
The room was a little on the small side. Even though there was a lift there were small sets of stairs to get to the rooms on the 6th floor. Not sure if this is the same on each floor.
Decor was sad and tired in rooms
When it comes to Europe’s great cities, the list isn’t really that long because there are some cities that just stand head and shoulders above the rest, and right at the top of that list is London. London is a repository for all the great things of English culture. Whether it is visiting Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, or many of the other medieval and modern sights, there is so much to take in during a visit to London. Having a great place to stay is important, and that’s why the Lancaster Gate Hotel is preferred by travelers.
The Lancaster Gate Hotel puts you right in the middle of London. One of the best parts about London is the mass transit system will get you anywhere you need to go. While many sights are within walking distance, so is the Tube. With free internet and dry-cleaning services, there is something offered for every type of traveler in this hotel. Business travelers and leisure travelers will enjoy the large rooms with windows providing a great view of Hyde Park.
Dining in London is fairly impressive. The hotel has in-house dining at the Serpentine Restaurant and Bar. There are lots of great English favorites here along with other traditional foods. However, if you’re looking to experience local restaurants, there are plenty within walking distance. A great thing to enjoy are the chip stands where you can get the very best fish and chips.
Staying at the Lancaster Gate Hotel is a great choice for anyone visiting this great city.
