You Pay for Location
Great location near Paddington Station and Hyde park. Beds were good size and staff was pretty accommodating
For the money the rooms were small. Seemed like they squeezed two large beds into a room that was meant for one. Lobby smelled like cigarette smoke. It’s an old building so the walls are very thin. The people above us decided to have a party the night before we had an early flight. After complaining multiple times to the front desk they did their best to keep the people above us from being too noisy. With two young kids it wasn’t conducive to getting them to bed. We paid almost £1000 for 4 nights. I expected a little more from the amenities (free breakfast maybe?). Overall the hotel did what we needed it to do but for the money I think it could have been better
Don't Let High Ratings Fool You
It was available last minute and was cheap (definitely got what I paid for), the exterior is gorgeous (looks much nicer outside), the location can't be beat - 5 minute walk to Paddington tube station. Staff very friendly
Broken/rusted side table lamps, stained/ripped sheets and towels, moldy grout in shower, walls paper thin (very loud), food choices were few and unappetizing.
Lovely hotel, great location
We very much enjoyed our stay. Very close to Paddington station which made the trip from Heathrow very easy on the Heathrow express. They provide a "handy phone" a mobile phone for use during your stay. This was fantastic as we could call back to the USA for free! Additionally, it provided a local phone with internet access while we were away from Wi-Fi which made navigating the city very easy. Pre-programed on the phone were maps of the tube system and sights of the city.
Breakfast was supposed to be included but the hotel said it was not. We are being reimbursed by the booking company.
Poor nights sleep, but a clean room
Noisy air conditioning unit (even when turned off), light from hallway was shining through door, ventilator noise from outside windows, green light from smoke detector.
Moved to a different hotel
I cannot accurately give input as they moved us to a different hotel and tried to charge us for breakfast even though it was supposed to be included. Felt scammed.
They moved us across the street to a different hotel. We didn't even stay at the hotel I'd booked. Felt like a scam.
Very close to paddington station. Staff was friendly and helpful overall. Breakfast was fine. Room was clean although tiny by US standards.
No washcloth given even upon request. Bathroom miniscule with broken towel rack. Overcharged for taxi due to hotel arrangement with company, but the drive and driver were nice.
I loved the location of this hotel. For it's location the price can't be beat!
Difficult to navigate the labyrinth of hallways and stairwells. I felt like I was in a video game the first few times I needed to find my room or way out.
