Loved the staff, loved the room, and over all loved the location and how close it was to the Tube, Buckingham palace and Westminster Abbey.
Our room was next to the laundry room so when we slept in we heard them slamming the door continuously
hidden gem in Westminster
location, ambiance, service
I highly recommend St. James Court!
The food was delicious! Breakfast consisted of Indian food and your traditional English breakfast. I am a vegan so I was very happy with the Indian food choices. The wait staff at the Hampton Bar was top notch. We never had to wait for anything. All of the staff were friendly and helpful.
There was a lot of construction happening across the street when we visited, but that is no fault of the hotel. Our room was not facing the street, so it was not a disruption.
A comfortable stay
The beds were comfortable and the breakfast was sumptuous
The rooms were bit small
Great value for money in London
This hotel offers a welcome change from the big American chain hotels. Although it is part of an Indian chain, it has managed to preserve an old world charm. The Christmas tree in the lobby along with all the comfy couches and the Elle lovely courtyard made it feel very cozy and comfortable.
The bathrooms could be a bit bigger but this seems to be a common problem with London hotels in general.
Not so cozy ....but just an acceptable room throug
The hotel was sold out so the room they gave us through Kayak was not so good, a bit tarnished and with warning signs everywhere, We stayed in better rooms in this hotel in the past. They used to give us welcome notes and a fruit basket to thank us for coming back But, this time, no note, not a great room, as if they were indifferent because we had booked through Kayak (with which they are not partner). It was not possible to change for a better room for 4 days. Then, a wonderful attendant, Adriana moved us to a better room for an additional fee. So,we had s a better experience toward the end of the stay. I am a fan of the "free breakfast" which seem to attract a non-business crowd.... As a result, a loyal returning guests get a luck ward welcome.
Room was not clean, bathroom had mold on walls, stains on carpet. Too noisy, could clearly hear people on room above walking & using restroom.
Very attentive and friendly staff. Great restaurants and Spa inside the hotel. Spacious and well equiped rooms. Great location close to Victoria station (ideal when you fly into Gatwick), in walking disctance from the tube, Westminster, St. James' park and Buckingham palace.
First room we were given (#352) had a lot of noise from the subway passing underneath, despite the fact that we had explicitly asked for a quiet room! From the second night on we got a very quiet room.
Enjoyed our store and appreciated the beautiful court yard in the hotel as well as the complimentary breakfast. Having stayed at multiple hotels in London, this one was the best value
Location location location staff was well I tune with my needs (where to go what to do) and they were very attentive to making my stay comfortable
Luxury comes to London in the Victorian St. James’ Court, A Taj Hotel. Opened in 1902, the polish that attracted 20th-century high society is still intact today. Inside the classic Victorian building, guests will find 18 different types of guest rooms and suites that range from 25 to over 70 sq. mtrs. Each accommodation is furnished and decorated with comfort in mind and features complimentary WiFi, a flatscreen TV, and air conditioning. The classic rooms capture the charm of England while Executive and Premium rooms offer a more modern style with a luxurious touch. Guests won’t go hungry thanks to the hotel’s four on-site restaurants. Patrons can enjoy a high-end menu of South-west Indian cuisine at the Michelin-starred Quilon, indulge in locally-sourced ingredients at Bistro, dine in the fresh air surrounded by ornate decor at St. James’ Courtyard, or get lost in the seasonal flavors of Bank. The night can be topped off with a warm drink at The Hamptons Bar, The Cellar Room, or Zander Bar. An on-site wellness center provides access to a full spa, complete with massage, body treatments, and facials. Guests can also get a simple cut and blow dry or VIP Makeover at Hair by Dar. All of this is offered just steps away from Buckingham Palace and the Houses of Parliament in Westminster. Guests looking to explore beyond the hotel can do so in a fleet of vintage cars, including a Jaguar DS420 Daimler and the Rolls Royce “Gabriella” from Downton Abbey. In the heart of Westminster, St. James’ Court provides guests with the chance at a lavish lifestyle with the creature comforts a top-rated hotel would offer.
