The Hotel Maya is a sprawling 11-acre DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel resort that welcomes a range of clientele from business travelers to couples on romantic getaways and families on vacation to local residents on “staycation”.

The Hotel Maya is composed of five buildings one housing a restaurant, reception area, conference room, and fitness center, and the four other buildings feature the guest rooms. The mix of guests creates a highly social vibe. The rooms are tropically decorated, some with harbor views. All rooms have glass-topped desks, flat-screen TVs, electric kettles, Keurig coffeemakers, mini-fridges, and robes and slippers.

Located on Long Beach Harbor, near the Queen Mary, The Maya is within proximity of tons of historic sites and amenities. Guests can travel to downtown Long Beach from the hotel’s free shuttle or take a low-cost water taxi to all point along Long Beach Harbor. Ranging from a nine-minute drive to a fifty-minute drive, visitors can travel to the Aquarium of the Pacific, the Long Beach Convention Center, Huntington Beach, The Los Angeles County Museum of Art, and the Santa Monica Pier. Families love that Disneyland Park is only 16 miles away.

The resort offers its own amenities right on-site such as tequila tastings, s’mores kits for nightly gatherings around eight fire pits, a pool and hot tube, fitness center, and business center. Fuego, an on-site restaurant, offers wraparound views of the harbor, farmhouse tables, saddle-leather bar stools, and a hookah lounge.

In addition to relaxing accommodations and fun amenities, Hotel Maya also hosts daily activities such as cocktail-making contests and children's cooking classes. Hotel Maya has something for every traveler.

I checked in through the app which allowed me to pick a room. But when I checked in, they gave me a different room.
E
4.2 Mediocre
Pros:Amazing view, beautiful grounds. Great location.
Cons:Our stay was disappointing. We arrived at 4 for check-in and our room wasn’t ready. They said they’d call when it was ready, hour and half later, they never called, we called and it was ready. Later that night, I got in the shower and there were 3 old bars of soap still in the shower, indicating it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned. Icing on the cake, at 9:30 the next morning (check out at 11) the cleaners tried to come in my room even though I had the “do not disturb” magnate on the door. They wouldn’t come in too if we hadn’t had the latch on the door. They tried continuously until my husband got up and told them to go away. Overall, terrible service.

8.5 Very good
Pros:The hotel itself is an older hotel that has been renovated to be a hipper more boutique style hotel. The changes are nice and the restaurant had great food, atmosphere, staff and entertainment. The rooms were nice and decent. Th doors to the rooms were carved wood which gave the rooms a more Mexican style theme. Beds were comfortable but i found the pillows to soft. The hotel provides earplugs which are useful if you are a light sleeper due to the boat and ship horns that blow over the water. The rooms also include a Kerig style coffee maker with different coffees and teas to choose from. We did not use it but it was nice to know it was there. The best thing about this hotel is the views of the Long Beach shoreline. During the day or at night it is beautiful to see over the bay in between. The location is optimal if you are going to visit the Queen Mary as it is about a 15 minute walk.

8.2 Very good
Pros:Room was crisp and clean. Property and view was pretty.
Cons:Special event affected the noise during our stay. Circular courtyard provided lots of noise from other guests.
A
8.5 Very good
Pros:We (either spouse and/or kid) have stayed here at least once a year and have watched it undergo many improvements, it is a wonderful place to stay if you want to be close to the Queen Mary but would like to avoid the noise or prefer a larger room and a pool. Since it is set up like a motel, you have to walk over between buildings and to the pool. The Sunday brunch is fantastic, there is a cute sand area for the kids, decor is cute and the facility always appears clean. I have not used any of the service options (in room or pool side) due to some really bad experiences prior to the change of ownership.
Cons:During the last stay there was a music festival at the Queen Mary which is to say that it was difficult to get to the hotel and once there, parking was difficult and people were pre-partying around the hotel. We had dinner reservations on the QM and the woman at the front desk offered a golf cart shuttle to the ship. On our way to the room we watched concert goers jockey for a space on the golf cart and then proceed to sit on one another's lap to fit. When we later approached the golf cart pick up area we were relieved to find it empty. A person identifying himself as a manager informed me "this cart isn't working, the battery is out" and then he clarified that it was the only one they had. Lame. In the end we were able to get to dinner in 10 minutes via sturdy Louboutins and the walk path but I would have liked a more professional handling of the situation.
