10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is an amazing location, very nice staff! Good food, beautiful rooms!
Cons: The breakfast can be a little bit nicer presented if they choose buffet style. Also some nicer bread is recommended. The food is very good, but not amazing such as in their other hotel Ecolodge.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Service was excellent
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The views, the sounds of the ocean, and the restaurant meals.
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This place has the perfect location. It is right by the sea and so close to the almost empty Los Angeles beach. It also takes you only 10 min to reach the entrance of Tayrona park. What a place!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Almost everything.
Cons: Needs a better breakfast.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful place, in a very peaceful location. We were so impressed with the food. It's super delicious. The staff was also very nice. We felt welcomed and relaxed. Absolutely loved it!
Cons: The beach bungalow we stayed in didn't have the best bathroom. My guess is it's similar or worse no matter where you stay around here though. Don't let this stop you from staying at Casa Tayrona Los Naranjos! It's an amazing vacation spot.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food cooked by Chef Camilo was amazing.
Cons: It would have been nice if they had some sort of water filtration system so as to not use as many water bottles.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location / views, excellent servive from a friendly staff
Cons: Room didn’t have screens on windows to keep bugs out. Tough to get to / from hotel for activities. More of a property for couples/families than travellers going with friends
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. Stunning location with gorgeous hotel creatively laid out to enhance the setting. The staff create a family type feel, learning everyone’s names and literally couldn’t do enough for you. It was recommended to us and we would defiantly pass that on!!

Pros: Extremely beautiful location. We had a great time here and would recommend it. Worth every penny. Very good hotel with super friendly staff. Best to practice your Spanish upfront as they try to speak English, but it’s not very good.
Cons: Nothing!!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful property, lovely staff, great food, fantastic facilities with wonderful water pressure in bathroom
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most stunning setting and beautiful spacious rooms - we had a really amazing 3 night stay here as a couple newly engaged. The bed was one of the best I’ve ever slept in! There is a bar a 3 minute walk away with the more insane views! It’s so untouched, felt like a very special place. Food was very good too! was sad to leave x
Cons: Maybe needed a few more sun beds
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was awesome. We could not ask for more.
Cons: Nothing to complaint about it.

Pros: Paradise Place, to charge the energy
Cons: all is great

Cons: Better WiFi signal
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff was the key of our stay.
Cons: Ocean too rough. Surfers beach
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Situated on a river that flows into the ocean with airy tropical decor and amazing pool, this property is situated 5 minutes drive from the best entrance to the park. The sounds of the ocean and birds rock you to sleep and the first thing you hear in the morning. The staff is very warm and welcoming and the hot rain shower a joy after long hikes to beautiful beaches in Tayrona Park.
Cons: The breakfast is decent but dinner was horrible the first night, but luckily there is an awesome restaurant at Casa Tayrona just a short walk on the same property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It's so peaceful. Set far back from road within a private gated area. Private beach 5 mins away. Pool is lovely. The staff are very friendly. The food is excellent - they have a very good menu for lunch and dinner, there's no need to eat anywhere else! Room very comfortable, nice shower, air con etc. 5 min drive to tayrona entrance. Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The rooms should have small fridges in so that you can store water etc without having to go to reception area.

The property is an eco-friendly hostel that offers private rustic rooms with balcony and bathroom. 9.3 Excellent
Pros: Nice eco-hostel very close to Tayrona National Park. Great views. Very nice swimming pool with warm water. Although selection was limited, food was quite good and not overpriced.
Cons: No hot water in the shower.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The eco-lodges is located beautifully, the scenery around is super nice. The rooms are clean and spacious. A choice of breakfast options, which is good.
Cons: Wifi connection was not great. You don't have many options to eat in the area in walking distance, so tied to the restaurant at the lodge, which is a bit more pricey than other restaurants, but the food was good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved the view from the hotel especially with sunset. We got a romantic cabin with a hammock to relax in. They have two house parrots who walk around on the property which is quite fun to see. The pool was perfect after walking around in Tayrona National Park where it can be really hot.
Cons: That we could only stay for one night
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff, food, location, the pool, rooms, overall concept, and hospitality.
Cons: They gauge the prices of beer for sure. More than any place in the country in my 10 days. You can buy a beer half the price at the bar across the street or 2,000 less at the store, but they aren’t always open. 3,000-3,5000 is standard and they charge 5,000. The food is high too but the quality and portions are justifiable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: What a beautiful place!!!!! The staff here have managed to create a wonderfully relaxed environment, which has made for the perfect stay, and meant that we have loved every minute spent here. The rooms are comfortable, the pool is great - set up next to an outdoor games room with a pool table, table football, darts, jenga! The restaurant was brilliant, with a delicious choice of breakfasts every morning, along with lots of equally tasty options for dinner. The ladies preparing the food are so smiley and friendly! Nothing was ever too much trouble and the food was always excellent. Thank you! The owners were also extremely friendly and happy to help with any questions we had. We spent our days in the national park, which is a short bus ride away (or easy 20min walk) and on the lovely beaches within a 20minute in the other direction of the hotel. I couldn’t recommend this place more highly. Stay here!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is super nice, overlooking the park. The restaurant and cabañas, with a pool, all spread out. The food was really nice and the jugos con leche are a dream :-) If I would do it again, I would even think about staying here and doing day trips to the park.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is absolutely beautiful. You have a great view of the valley, forest and river. It's quiet, relaxing, nice pool and the staff were all fantastic with us - despite our terrible Spanish. The food was good, the cocktails very good, the room was gorgeous and the bed very comfy. Overall very very very happy.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location, pool, view from the restaurant. Dinner options and quality of the food.
Cons: Breakfast portions were a bit small. Not so much shadow at the pool and with a fully booked hotel there wouldn’t be enough beds at the pool.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful view of the National Park and the sunset if you get a clear enough evening is magic! The pool area doesn’t have much of a vibe although we were there in off season. Very nice staff! Breakfast was good. If they had avocado on toast option I would’ve been thrilled. We had dinner there for convenience and the veg plantain dish was delish! The traditional rice dish for breaky was good too. Rooms are very nice, bed huge! And spacious bathroom and shower too.
Cons: Maybe in the off season the prices could be a little lower.

Pros: Basic but wonderful accommodation with great staff in the most spectacular area of Tayrona National Park.
Cons: No screen on the bathroom window allowing the birds to fly in and out.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: good please to relax
Cons: none
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect: 5 min by bus of Tayrona’s Zaino entrance. The hotel is next to a small lovely beach and the long Playa Los Angeles is 5 min walk away only. The main building is really nice, with a stunning view over the river and sea. The food is fresh and tasty: we had some of our nicest dinners there!
Cons: The decoration of the rooms is very simple, and the showers could be slightly improved. But this is very easily forgotten as the place is a small heaven!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I loved everything about this place!!! The most incredible setting on the edge of Tayrona National Park. Wedged in between the river and the ocean, it's the perfect spot to unwind. If you're looking for action this is not the place to be, however they do have a bar serving cocktails starting just before sunset that has a good vibe to it. You can also sit and watch the sunset and all the surfers braving the enormous waves!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The view is STUNNING!!!! our room had the best view ever looking at the river as well as the shower. The food is also very nice :)
Cons: The only thing is that is a shame there there is no real reception. We had some question about the area but the staff who welcome us were not working at reception and couldn't answer to our question as they didn't speak English and us Spanish.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - The hotel is stylish, chic and on the beach & river - view on both mountains and sea. - Closed to Tayrona park’s entrance. - Amazing location for sunset - Breakfast and Dinner were very tasty and with generous portions - Family feeling. - Staff were very kind and helpfull (Marta) - Special Thanks to the Owner who Made our stay magical for our honey moon - Thank you Nathalie! Hotel was above expectations, we decided to extended our stay from 2 to 3 nights. We spent 4 weeks in Colombia and this hotel was the best!
Cons: -
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is respectfully placed in the middle of nature, co-existing with the wildlife, flora, peaceful river and roaring ocean! Absolutely wonderful experience - everything from the owners, staff, food, view, pool, nature... the list goes on!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Incredible location at an almost private beach at the border of Tayrona Park. Super friendly staff, great breakfast and dinner in a very sociable setting. Amazing restaurant for lunch on location. Hard to describe the beauty of the whole setting! We had a suite which was almost too close to the beach as the waves were almost too loud at night ;-) there’s an honesty bar where you can help yourself to drinks and pay later. Free drinking water. Mosquito net over the bed. Hammocks everywhere :-) surfbreak in front and surfboards for rent. Just magical place!
Cons: It’s just a fan room but we had enough wind coming from the ocean to cool the room aswell. Showers not temperature adjustable. You can not swim at the beach! You can go in and have fun being thrown around in the waves a bit, but you should be a good swimmer.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is incredible! After 3 weeks of backpacking Colombia, staying here was breathtaking and definitely blew me away. The food, the staff, the rooms, the facilities, the massage, transportation, etc., were all amazing. Will absolutely recommend to everyone!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The extreme care for superb service down to the smallest detail, great food and gorgeous rooms!
Cons: Nothing

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Location was great. Very nice and relaxing. Carlos was a fantastic host. Food was good. We stayed in one of the bungalows the bed was super comfy!
Cons: The shower was cold and wasn't very powerful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The staff (in particular Carlos) was beyond helpful and kind to us during our stay! He helped us feel right at home and help us have the best stay ever. Carlos was incredibly patient with our lack of Spanish and took the time to give us tips and info into the rest of our travels around Colombia. The property was so lovely, an oasis. Very tranquil. Only a short easy bus ride to the Tayrona National Park.
Cons: The rooms did not have a tv or fridge (as mentioned in the booking) but you’re in such a peaceful environment and the staff was more than happy to help with all matters that it wasn’t really a problem. No hot water in the shower but we found out this was normal for this part of the country!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautifully designed cabins, friendly staff, comfy bed
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely eco hotel, beautiful room and surrounds, very kind and helpful owner, wonderful stay

8.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location to visit Tayrona park. Interesting path to hotel. We had two young children and lots of bags but I called ahead and they arranged a man to come and help which was useful. Def should not put you off booking here. Food was quite nice. Loads of mangos everywhere so lots you can eat.
Cons: Social area is very small by television. If there is someone in there already we felt a little bit like we were invading their space. No shared kitchen if you are looking for accomodation where you can prepare your own meals.

Posada Villa Margarita - Los Naranjos - Building

9.1 Excellent (239 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Posada Villa Margarita in Santa Marta, you'll be a 4-minute drive from Tayrona National Natural Park and 9 minutes from Quebrada Valencia Waterfall. The front desk is staffed during limited hours. Free self parking is available onsite.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly owners and staff. Lovely green outdoor area, nice little pool with an ocean view. We had also a balcony which had an outdoor sitting area. We were allowed to leave our bags when we went for one night to Tayrona.
Cons: The room was quite hot and dark, but there were fans. Water in the shower was quite coldish. You could hear the trucks passing down the road. It's a bit of a climb to get up to the reception and the rooms, not very pleasant if you have heavy bags/suitcases.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful spot to calm down after an intense day of hiking at Tayrona Park. Beautiful facilities and really nice breakfast! Bus drive away from the park. The view from the pool is amazing.
Cons: Can be a bit hard to find at first when it's dark outside. Instructions could be more clear.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Good situation, near Tayrona. Beautiful hotel, nice room. Personnel attentionné, bel espace extérieur.
Cons: Near the main road, a lot of noise. + The shrimps spaghetti probably make one of us sick. Like a bad tourista. The shrimps tasted weird and got sick pretty soon after it.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff/family was very friendly, atmosphere was beautiful (perfect for nature lovers), and very close to Tayrona National Park entrance.
Cons: Can be difficult to find if you arrive after sunset given the limited lighting in the area.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is very beautiful and Jose was very attentive. I appreciated that there were beach towels that we could change out every day. The hotel is very quiet and peaceful. It has a great view.
Cons: The food can be better. We stayed there for 4 days and 3 nights and had the same breakfast haha. It would be great to have arepas, huevos perico, and other Colombian dishes for breakfast. Is there a possibility where the hotel can help guests bring their luggage up the stairs?
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Best breakfast we had in Colombia, nicest hosts we had in Colombia, nicest place we stayed at in Colombia. Close to Tayrona National Park and a 5 minutes walk from shops, and the beach. Had an excellent stay! Extremely good Mojitos!!!
Cons: Big waves on the beach, not so suitable for swimming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Gorgeous location, super tranquil, food was simple but extremely delicious and many options! Room had large bed with mosquito net and fan, private bathroom with shower (cold water), and little patio with hammock. Beach just a very short block away with bar and restaurants that you could charge to your room and plenty of chairs, though you have to be careful going into the water due to strong currents
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Much attention is put into the trees and gardens making the property beautiful.
Cons: Our room had a cheap home made door which could be upgraded
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The owner was so lovely The fruit for breakfast one of the days was delicious on another day less so. Loved my room with a terrace and hammock and facing the tropical forest.
Cons: The only thing I was not as happy about was a shrimp dish that I had. I thought the shrimp may have been frozen instead of fresh but can't verify that.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The location, how peaceful it is, how clean it is. Staff was pretty warm, friendly and helpful when needed.
Villa Maria Tayrona, a Kali Hotel - Los Naranjos - Building
7
8.9 Excellent (795 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Villa Maria Tayrona, a Kali Hotel in Santa Marta, you'll be by the ocean, within a 10-minute drive of Tayrona National Natural Park and Quebrada Valencia Waterfall. Featured amenities include dry cleaning/laundry services, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a more rustic experience than what I was expecting, especially for the price. It’s an eco-hotel which means giving up some comforts but still. It’s a 7-10 minute walk to the beach but this didn’t bother me. The beach itself was charming with some plastic lounge chairs and a bar. It’s very convenient for Tayrona park and they provide complimentary shuttle service to and from the park. The views are beautiful, the pool was lovely, and it met our needs for 2 nights to visit the park.
Cons: No WiFi in the rooms, only in the reception area. It was quite expensive and wasn’t on par with the price. The shuttle was a half hour late picking us up from the park. This might not seem like a big deal but after hiking 10 miles in extreme heat and being sweaty and dirty and tired and getting bit my mosquitoes while waiting around for half an hour, it was pretty annoying.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The hotel was very close to Tayrona National Park & was located in the forest close to the beach. Good food & friendly staff.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were generally very attentive and the rooms very pleasant, especially considering the remoteness of the hotel, in the midst of the jungle.
Cons: A beetle in my rice was an unpleasant surprise, but rhe only negative in a wonderful few days' stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Air conditioning!!! Rooms with Views! The front desk staff!!! The hummingbirds! So much to love about this place!
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: My girlfriend and I spent few days in Villa Maria Tayrona. It was a wonderful experience. The hotel is very good located as long as you want to visit the extraordinary Tayrona Park, Buritaca and Palominos' beaches. The nearest beach from the hotel can be reached trough a beautiful path (around 10 minutes walk). The room was perfectly cleaned and very comfortable. It has a balcony with sea view where, thanks to the staff service, we could have a private romantic dinner. The staff is very friendly and always willing to help you. Special thanks to Jorge, Luis, Maryudis, Hevin and Anderson. We strongly recommend the hotel.
Cons: fruit juice during breakfasts.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The staff is friendly and so helpful! This is a little hideaway in the trees and so in tune with nature. It is definitely not your place if you don't do stairs! The food was excellent. They have shuttles to the park entrance where you pay the entrance fee then walk or pay 6000 RT for a shuttle to get to the start of the trail. The bungalows are very comfortable and you feel all alone hidden in the jungle. Ours had a pretty view of the ocean far below. The beach is about a 10 minute stroll.
Cons: Start by saying this is a hot area. Usually the AC in the bungalows is very welcome. At night, though, it would be good to have a blanket for the bed. Also our shower hot water wasn't working at first, but they fixed it right away.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was nice because we were looking for a place that was still in touch with nature and not the city life. The food was and beverages were good as well. Having AC was a huge plus too. The massages we had were great. I prefer deeper massages while my fiancee prefers them lighter and we both were pleased with ours.
Cons: Our room had a hole in the ceiling which a total of 3 lizards got into our room which terrified my fiancee because the lizards there are much larger than the ones we have back home. Also the hole was directly above the bed so waking up to see them looking like they were about to fall down on top of you was a little unsettling.
5.5 Okay
Pros: It was marketed as an ocean view room and it did have a nice view. I thought it would be therefor eon the ocean. No it was across the main road on a hill thus giving it an ocean view. The ladies in the restaurant were very friendly
Cons: The room was a disappointment. We never had hot water. First when I asked the guy at reception said “it is only hot one minute and then you habe to turn it off and on a again every few minutes” Then this morning he said the batters on the water heater went dead. We had dinner at the restaurant and woke up ( both of us) with massive cramps and having to use the toiltet all night long.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is great as its a 5-minute ride from the main entrance to Tayrona and the hotel provides a free shuttle. Hotel's beach is great and staff are friendly and helpful!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: - fantastic location with a great beach - friendly and helpful staff - good food - comfortable rooms
Cons: - reception waiting times were quite long. the hotel could double the staff during peak hours
9.3 Excellent

Cons: Distance to walk to my bungalow was exceptional.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Quite, packed with green every where you look at, rooms are ver comfortable, hot water is an amazing treat. Food is fairly ok

Pros: The pool and jacuzzi was really nice. The massages was really nice as well. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
Cons: The food was okay. It could have been better. But the food in northern part of Colombia isn’t something to be thrilled about.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great hotel. Service is excellent. Jarrison was very kind and his service especially stuck out. Close to entrance of park and was able to get there quickly via bus.
Cons: This is completely unavoidable due to being in the jungle and not on the hotel , but be warned. Lots of bugs around.

Pros: We had a lovely stay. Orna was a marvelous host who made us feel completely at home. She cooked us 2 lovely meals. Great place to rest after a day in Parque Tayrona.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: If you're planning a trip to Tayrona you have to stay here. Such an amazing host - made us lunch and even let us shower after our stay (we left our luggage with her while in Tayrona). So nice to have a delicious home cooked meal too. She spoke English which was cool. Big pool outside and good AC. Don't expect WiFi because is none anywhere so not really a negative point. Can grab a bus to both park entrances from right outside. Highly recommend
Cons: Nada ;)
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly and caring hosts. Good homemade food right from the finca.

The setting is great with lovely views of the jungle, nice pool and above all amazing hosts, Orna and Astulio looked after us and cooked us some amazing meals, after a long day travelling and one walking it was just what we needed! She also helped us getting a ticket for the National Park as we didn’t book in advance which saved us wasting day. Our stay here was just what we needed and we will miss it a lot, especially the dogs! Thank you!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: One of the best accommodations we've had in Colombia. Super convenient if you're planning on going to Tayrona Park via Calabazos entrance. Totally recommended :)
Hotel Jasayma Tayrona - Los Naranjos - Bedroom

Overview Reviews
When you stay at Hotel Jasayma Tayrona in Santa Marta, you'll be in a national park, within a 15-minute drive of Tayrona National Natural Park and Cristal Beach. Free self parking is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff very friendly and good vibe with other travellers there, good location inside the park. Dinner was tasty... particularly the fish.
Cons: We weren't expecting hot water in the jungle with only solar power, however shower had no water pressure whatsoever!! No fan so room can get quite hot. Also be ready for some jungle noises! Wifi was very irregular. Bar didn't have any beers which seemed strange... maybe bring your own.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Located just inside Parque Tayrona, it is easy to get to. It is not fancy, borderline glamping but very pleasant. No fans or AC due to solar energy but decent power for lights and recharging phones. Decent wifi too. Very sweet woman running the place who stored our bags for us and let us use the showers after check out which allowed us a hassle free day at the beach.
Cons: Like all Tayrona, poor food selection and what there is , overpriced. My nephew stayed just outside the park and from a food POV it is probably better. If you stay inside bring food or be prepared to be disappointed.
4.5 Okay
Cons: We didn't get there because we we're arriving after closure of the Tayrona park. We had planned this and communicated our expected time of arrival to the hotel, but still, we were informed by other people that we wouldn't be allowed in. We would have prefered that the hotel had made this clear to us after we had booked
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Very welcoming staff, great breakfast and dinner. Good mosquito nets. Good location inside the park
Cons: Visa was advised at the property but was not possible to use
6.3 Good
Pros: Location in the National Park is great. It’s opposite a very nice restaurant which we ate at both nights. It’s a good place if you want a real sense of eco living. Waking up to the noise of monkeys dropping mangos is quite surreal
Cons: But without a basic fan the room was unbearable. We slept under a wet flannel and towel for two nights. No cold drinks on offer. Electricity cuts out from around 10pm-8am. It’s basic. One night would have been enough
7.5 Good
Pros: The staff were incredibly friendly, going above and beyond to make sure you were comfortable and had what you needed, you could tell how hard they worked to make it a great experience for everyone staying there, especially Nori. The location was fantastic, just inside the park, an easy ten minute walk from the entrance gate and a ten minute bus to the main trails. Be aware that because it was inside the National Park the property runs off a generator, the facilities are very basic, there are no fans or aircon the heat is inescapable. You are in the jungle! There are monkeys in the trees in the morning when you wake up and birds calling throughout the day. It's a very surreal place to stay.
Cons: It was probably our own fault for not researching enough, but the accomodation wasn't quite what we expected when we arrived. It was slightly more primitive than what we had anticipated, especially for the price. I got quite ill on the first night, and the basic amenities made it quite an uncomfortable evening and with no respite from the heat it was tough to recover from.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very authentic stay! Location was great, just on the park road to the Museum to start hiking to Mirador, Arrecife, Cabo de San Juan or where you can take a bus to the opposite way to the main road in a direction to Santa Marta. Room was very spacious and comfortable - such a great experience to spend the night in the heart of the lively jungle. Very tasty breakfast and dinner prepared by the host.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Such warm and friendly staff,so informative and generally lovely! Beautiful room, a real haven in the middle of the forest. Amazing coconut daiquiri cocktails from the on site bar..just wow!! Would highly recommend this place.
Cons: It would have been amazing to have a fan to help cool us down during the night, however had there been some wind outside (the room and balcony are open to the outdoors (this makes the room extra special) it may have been enough). There is no electricity in the toilets so you just have to keep the door open a little to see
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Staff is very nice and welcoming. The property is close to the entrance, inside the national park. Sleeping outside (in a comfy bed and with mosquito nets) and listening to the sounds of the jungle as you fall asleep / wake up was a great experience.
Cons: Pillows smelled really really bad. They need a serious washing or better yet they should be exchanged for new ones. The second thing.. me and my husband are vegetarians. The staff prepares dinner every night for guests that are staying at the property. We ordered dinner but later that evening I wasn’t feeling well so we tried to cancel it as we wanted to rest. The staff informed us that the dinner is already being cooked. Fair enough. My husband went to eat with the rest of the guests. I stayed in bed. He got a plate of rice with some veg and fries, which is the side dish of a main course. And it would be fine. But the next day we were charged as if we had two main dinner dishes. I didn’t eat at all and he got a plate of side dishes for 60 000$. We loved the place and how nice the people were. But after all we were not 100% happy.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The food at breakfast and dinner was delicious! The beds were really comfortable, one of the most comfortable beds we have had in Colombia. Antonio can speak English very well and is so kind en friendly.
Cons: There was nothing we did not like.

Offering a barbecue and terrace, Entre Bosques Tayrona is set in Los Naranjos, 37 km from Santa Marta. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant and outdoor swimming pool. Free private parking is available on site. There is a shared kitchen at the property. The property is a 30-minute walk away from the beach. Taganga is 34 km from Entre Bosques Tayrona. The nearest airport is Simón Bolívar International Airport, 43 km from the property.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The people are super nice and helpful. The location is great if and if you take the motor taxi you are in tayrona in 10 mins.
Cons: Great stay
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Location is amazing even though a bit far from the beach but it's not a problem if you don't mind walking and are not looking for something by the beach. It is very quiet and peaceful. The pool is awesome. The rooms are very clean and can almost be considered as luxury given the circumstances: lost in the middle of the jungle.
Cons: The food was bit overpriced but it's pretty much everywhere like that in the Caribbean coast of Colombia.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Such a cool place to stay. Really nice staff and owner, super friendly and helpful. The pool is awesome and the location of the houses in the middle of nowhere is just perfect. The beach is still easily accessible after a short walk
6.8 Good
Cons: It is a nice property set amongst the forrest. The location is a bit akward though & hard to get to. I'm pretty sure the food (shrimp), made me sick too which soured the experience.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I really enjoyed this place! It is quiet and was a perfect place to relax after La Ciudad Perdida hike. I would have happily stayed for some more days. You can mind your own business and chill out by the lovely pool. Total relaxation. I slept so well.
Cons: The hotel is at the end of a road so good to consult the hotel on how to get there. Someone took me and my small luggage on a motorbike taxi from the crossroad as the normal taxi wouldn't drive all the way. However, the road is suitable for bigger cars and that's why getting out to the airport was no issue at all. At the same time, this remoteness was a plus! There was no traffic whatsoever, just super chill and quiet all in all. The restaurant is pretty basic but provided enough nutrition. The staff speaks only Spanish but they use google translate on their phones if things get complicated. The wifi is a bit unreliable and there is no signal otherwise (or at least not on my phone).
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is ideal for a quiet, relaxing time. It is a gorgeous spot with a small, clean pool which we basically had to ourselves during our stay. The food is made fresh to order from a quite small selection of local foods. It is a 30-40 minute walk to beautiful playa de los cocos, lovely views and big waves (so not really a beach for a swim!) I wished we had stayed longer!
Cons: The hotel is about 30-40 mins walk up a dirt track or you can take a motorbike taxi. The hotel help arrange these once you're there but we didn't see any down at the main road when we arrived! The closest beach is not good for swimming but lovely for a walk and has a couple of bars / food places.
7.5 Good
Pros: Peaceful and quiet nice place to stay and they have a restaurant nothing fancy but good homemade food and you can use a credit card
Cons: It’s 1.5km from the highway on a 4x4 road about 1/2hour walk up and down hills
8.8 Excellent
Pros: I loved being off the beaten path, hidden, and close to nature.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We enjoyed taking motos or hiking into the beautiful kept grounds. There is a nice kitchen we wished we had brought more of our own food. The owner is the sweetest. Most of the staff was absolutely lovely.
Cons: The restaurant is the only food close by and it's a bit pricey. It could use some more variety.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The refreshing pool, the staff is super nice, the hammocks... just perfect to relax. Wifi in the pool area is working quite good (not in the rooms) A quiet house 10min by motobike from the main road (ask the bus driver to drop you at Los Cocos and there ask someone to take you with their motobike 7000 COP). They offer food but there is also a kitchen you can use to cook your own food

Pros: Good homemade breakfast. Location is great. Fully local family business.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lucia is the loveliest host you could ask for, she even sorted us out with some home treatments as we had stomach issues. There are lots of animals about, the atmosphere is really nice. Great location to explore Tayrona park. The room we stayed in was very cheap and comfortable.
Cons: There is no wifi (which can be quite nice to wind down)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great place to rest. Really close to Tayrona main entrance. Close to beautiful beaches.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything. The staff Lucy and Marellis were superb. The food was exceptional and they prepared it in a very clean environment. You have food surrounded by Parrots, Parakeets, Turtles and Rabbits. Wonderful. I was unwell with a bad stomach before arriving here, Lucy took me to her brother who is a doctor, then helped with the pharmacist. A lovely woman a lovely stay.
7.0 Good
Pros: Breakfast was perfect. Traditional colombian food
Cons: The room was very small for 2 people, maybe for 1 person is ok
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The Posada is a small property owned and run by a sweet Colombian woman named Lucila. It is a two minute walk from the main road/highway that connects everything from Santa Marta to Tayrona and further. At first I thought the location was a bit random, but there are no center of town areas in these parts and in fact she’s right near the main gate to Tayrona National park and like thirty to forty minutes beteeen Buritaca and Minca (Teo places I wanted to visit). This is an eco stay. Meaning no AC and cold showers. It was fine for my husband and I who are used to blasting AC all the time. There is a fan over the bed and it is a good climate there. Lucila has tons of docile pets roaming around, which definitely adds to the experience. She is super helpful. We told her we wanted to do a lot in the short time span we had and she set us up with a driver who was also extremely helpful. The entire experience was very different from anything in the US. She also makes breakfast daily with homemade fruit juice and homemade arepas (the best I had in my stay in Colombia). For a little extra she will even make you dinner. And boy am I glad I took her up on this offer. The best part of the posada would probably be lounging in the hammocks in the evening enjoying the breeze.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: We had a nice stay at Posadas and Lucila was a nice and helpful host. The property has a beautiful garden with some cute animals and the bungalow were nicely arranged. The hotel is in walking distance to the tayrona entrance el zaino, which makes it way more easier to organise the stay there.
7.0 Good
Pros: The hostal is in conveniant walking distance to the main entrance of the Tyrona national park. The food they provide and make for you is very nice (you pay dinner extra) and the staff is helpful as well. Rooms are ok, nothing special. There are a lof of animals on the premises which we liked a lot.
Cons: There is no mosquito net in the room. We had no power during the night - it made it very hot to sleep with no fan (obviously not the owners fault...). Rather pricy for the overall performance.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The place was wonderful and the owner was very nice and helpful. She offers now WiFi and hot water which I did not need. It’s so hot and humid that a cold shower is the best. Very close to the entrance of Tayrona Park and the food was yummy. Liked the parrots and the turtles that live open around the posadas, the rooms were comfy. Definitely recommend this place for anyone that wants to go away from city, and rest.
Cons: I liked everything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Food was excellent! Very welcoming owner and crew. Warm environment surrounded by vegetation and animals. The owner Ms. Lucila is very nice, always ready to help you and give you good advice.
Cons: Nothing, she has now WiFi and hot water.

We fully recommend this place
Cons: Nothing
8.3 Excellent
Cons: This is a great location and a great place, my only problem was that this location is missing some real management on site, we had several issues. Here are a few: -upon arrival they asked us, what we wanted for dinner ( dinner is included) so I asked for the red snapper, so the (server/front desk and many other roles) told me, was not included , the price was $40.000 Colombian pesos so even that they had some other dishes that were the same price $40.00 she said no, so I asked to maybe pay a difference to be able to get the fish and she had to ask a lady in the kitchen (the chef/head cook) and she said no I had to pay the full $40.000 and I said ok I ll pay the $40.000 and I still get 2 included meals she said no, only 1 after I paid the $40.000 all this little rules were coming from the kitchen and made on the spot by this cook lady so the 3 days that I stayed at the place all was like That, non sense rules about included meals and weird stuff, again I loved the location I just think that is missing some on spot real management, I tried to contact a real manager or even the owner and after 2 weeks I decided to post my review. I stayed at the 2 other hotels right next and didn’t see that problem at the other locations.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location was great. Private beaches with mountains meets the jungle experience.
Cons: Overall, the service is not near where it should be for a hotel, especially a hotel in Colombia at these prices. I live in Colombia, so I know how far this money goes here. The rooms have safes to guard your most important belongings, but they don’t work. When I pointed this out the staff got upset with me and maintained a negative vibe for the next 24 hours. There is no on staff attendance for drinks, food, etc throughout the day. Additionally, you have to pre-order breakfast the night before and dinner the morning of the day you’ll be eating. If you don’t you won’t be eating any food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location, stunning views and luxurious common areas with infinity pool and relaxing lounge area.
Cons: Nothing to dislike
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff were friendly and helpful. Food was outstanding and the pool area was just wonderful. Great place to really disconnect for a couple of days.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Extremely comfortable and spacious rooms. Things for shower are great. Beds are great. If you like tranquility, this is your place. There is no one. Only sound of waves.
Cons: 45 Minutes away from Santa Marta. Taxi to go there is 100’000 cop or bus collectivo 7000 cop. Extremely expensive laundry service. Breakfast not included, still don’t understand why. Very expensive for what it is. Water costs 3500 cop.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The most amazing views from the room and common areas. Excellent food (I would recommend going half board as there aren't many other options for eating close by). Staff very friendly, creating a relaxed atmosphere.
Cons: The WiFi didn't stretch to the bedroom. The wine was expensive, so stick to beer which is cheap!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location with beautiful views all round. Big clean spacious rooms with windows looking out to the sea. Staff were really lovely and food yummy. Very special to fall asleep to the sounds of the carribean waves.
Cons: Had to bring snacks with me as the hotel serves only breakfast and dinner.
5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff had good intentions but unfortunately good intentions alone aren't always sufficient when you don't have the proper infrastructure or the systems in place to run a place like this.
Cons: None of the staff spoke any English not even at a very basic level. They required a few hours notice for any meals at the hotel and even then the service was quite slow. The towels in the rooms were not clean. There were problems with the electricity in the room - some of the plugs weren't working at all due to problems with fuse box. The A/C wasn't usable for one of the two nights we stayed there. Given the heat and humidity in Tayrona, a properly functioning A/C is essential and hence we asked for some kind reimbursement or a gesture of goodwill for that one night. Although we were offered a new room this was after the fact and our request for reimbursement was not taken seriously and dismissed. At checkout, we had a relatively modest oustanding balance (c. £25 for a booking value of £450 - i.e. c. 5%) and we tried to pay with a credit card but the machine did not have any signal and hence couldn't pay. Staff insisted that we somehow settle this instead of providing this as a gesture of goodwill. We did not have any cash so we had to go to the hotel next door, pay them with our cards and allow the 2 hotels to settle between themselves...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Our stay at Casa Barlovento was brilliant- the hotel is beautifully located and the rooms pristine and very spacious. Paola was exceptionally helpful and kind. The food was excellent and plentiful, make sure the pre-order if you want to eat dinner at the hotel. There are a couple of restaurants round the corner on the next beach for lunch. Would 100% come back!

Pros: If you like silence, water, waves and poetry, this is definitively your place. On ofe those few places right next to the beach. Glamping, food, jugos - everything perfect for a relaxing stay surrounded by nice people. Great view from the mirador as well! The price is really good for what you get here.
Cons: There is nothing to complain.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, great camping with all the facilities but not Wifi. Great to disconnect and enjoy the nature
6.3 Good
Pros: The place is amazing The food is good and people of the restaurant very nice
Cons: No WiFi No hot water
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Delicious place to stay away from the crowds and enjoy nature.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location here is amazing. You walk off the main road into the property, and you feel totally isolated on this beach in the middle of the jungle. Our glamping tent had wood-framed walls, and was tall enough to stand in, with spots to hang our clothes, etc. The fruit smoothies were amazing, and the food was actually pretty good too with lots of options. We stayed for four days and didn't get sick of it! Beach is amazing, lots of trees all around, a great lookout to walk up to, comfortable bed, clean sheets (they did a turn down service our 3rd and 4th days and gave us fresh sheets/towels on the 3rd day).
Cons: There was only 1 female and 1 male toilet, and 1 shower to share for all of the glampers. They were in the middle of doing renos, so this will be improved, but at the moment when it is busy it is a bit inconvenient. We maintained a tab to pay at the end of the stay with the ladies at the restaurant. When we went to pay, the bill was higher than the amounts I had kept tabs of in my notebook. There were a few "Extra" items on our tab. I am not sure if this was a mistake or not (I hope so, because they were so sweet), but I was pretty upset. They allowed us to remove a few items so we got down to within 7000.00 Pesos of the amount I had in my notebook, but I couldn't differentiate between which fruit juices I had or hadn't had, so we paid a bit extra. If you are keeping a tab at the bar, make sure to also keep notes of your own! They charge 5% to pay with credit, which is a bit steep.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Quietness, heading waves crashing on the beach to rock you to sleep. Best sleep we had in all of Colombia. Beautiful trees and plants throughout makes it a nice oasis.
Cons: Would have liked a swimmable beach, but was satisfied with going in up I my knees and admiring the strong waves. Liked to disconnect but would like to have the option of wifi perhaps in an area only for travel planning purposes.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The beach is spectacular
Cons: Food is average. Portions are small
6.8 Good
Pros: The location at the beach is great - be prepared that it's not a very lonely place but many young people are glamping, camping, sleeping in hammocks etc.
Cons: The staff is ... no words. Very unfriendly at the arrival and then when we finally got the room it was not the one that we booked. We booked one upper floor and had the one downstairs, Also when we arrived, I saw feet on the upper floors balcony (resting) - when this person heared someone was downstairs, she started cleaning the balcony but in a manner that I was covered with all the dirt from first floor.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The beach is just dreamy and very private. The room was nice in the house, nice people, garden. Thank you.
