Rooms are updated and clean. My original room was next to the breakfast area. I requested to be moved for a quieter section of the floor. The change needs to be done through the 3rd party (Travelocity) who called Comfort Inn. Travelocity to credit my account and for Comfort Inn to charge me for the room and swipe my card again. I hope I was not charged twice. I left with a blank bill which the front desk is normal. In all our stay was pleasant and will consider Comfort Inn in the future.
Great place. Great location. Reasonable prices. Close to the water. Very clean. Very comfortable. Would definitely come back.
staff were helpful
very clean and roomy, friendly staff not given a good view of Morro Bay
The staff was super friendly and the linens didnt smell strongly of bleach, just clean
Loved our two-day stay here at this sea-side motel. Conveniently located on Main Street with a quick walk the embarcadero or shop on Main Streeet. The best part was the absolute cleanliness of the property and our room. Really clean! And the best service ever!! By the owners and staff!
Awesome Location, just a short walk to the shops and restaurant. Old Bathroom, door didn't close. Heat A/C wasn't working.
Clean, comfortable, and close to everything.
The rooms were very spacious and there was plenty of room for the kids to roam around and they had a microwave and a refrigerator which made traveling with a baby much easier than the previous 2 nights. The room was very clean and even had a cute little fireplace. We will definitely stay again on our next trip. The man at the front was very rude and didn't pick up the phone or come to the desk to answer questions. He also charged an extra $20 for the night because we had a baby. Who slept in a travel bed I might add. When I showed him our reservation he said it wasn't right and that he had to charge the extra money for the baby.
The room is very clean, the location is close to beach. Good value for the money. The included breakfast is not good. Just quartered muffin, pastry, coffee. We be a better value if they improve the breakfast.
We liked that we were walking distance to Morro Bay and very close to all the shops and restaurants on the Embarkdaro. The heater worked great! It exceeded our expectations for a 54.00 hotel. It was clean and nice. It was quiet and the staff was quiet. Nothing - it was a reasonable hotel for a very cheap price.
Walking distance to restaurants, pier and shops. This was great! We did not need to drive. The hotel is walking distance to ocean. I requested a wakeup call & other needs and was accommodated immediately. Good staff. Bathroom door did not lock. The continental breakfast was less to be desired. grapes were in a box & we had to bring them up to our room holding them in our hands. (no plates supplied) no O.j or cereal or milk.
They didn't change the bedsheets or clean the room (vacuum, dust, clean counters, mop floor, etc) when we requested maid service. They did give us clean towels. The wallboards were sticky with black fingerprints, the carpet was dirty and the walls had dust on them. The heater was SO loud and the tempature wasn't accurate so we were cold each night. The tv sat on the microwave and they had an old refrigerator and the handle was dirty. This will be the last time we stay at Fireside Inn.
We stayed in July and were very pleased that the staff accommodated our request for a room with a view of the harbor. We enjoyed the fresh breeze through the open windows (even left them open at night). The electric fireplace heaters were a nice touch and worked well to take the chill off the evening air. We loved that we could walk just two blocks to the harbor and enjoy meandering down the street, popping into shops or restaurants. We even saw a sea lion sunning himself on the rocks. The continental breakfast is very minimal at the Inn, but there is a great Sun & Buns Bakery on Embarcadero with delicious pastries, breakfast burritos, and coffee drinks close by!
Great location. Reasonable price. Decent facilities. Rude staff. We were staying in Morro Bay for a wedding and my sister stopped by our room in the morning. The manager accused us of having more people staying with us. We were offended. The continental breakfast was room temperature Tang and costco muffins cut into four servings. You can borrow an iron from the front desk but expect eye-rolling.
location is great, room was clean, bed - comfy
The size of the room, the fake fireplace, and the efficiency of the heater. I couldn't not understand what the man behind the counter was saying. All he would do is mumble and never complete a sentence. Very frustrating.
the location of the hotel near beach and shops is great there is no airco. During our stay it was nog warm zo no problem
It was during the week so it was quite. The were putting in new windows and I didn't like the fact that while we were gone the room was opened so the men could work. It's a good thing we didn't have anything worth taking.
It was a couple of blocks up from the Embarcadero, but there was a pretty good view of Morro Rock from our rooms. The facilities are a bit older. Bathrooms small and sink did not drain well.
I have stayed here before a couple of times. The beds are always comfortable and the rooms clean. These are the two most important things to me. This is not fancy or elegant but suits the need of a clean comfortable room. There is no hair dryer and you'd better bring your own shampoo and soap as what they give you is a small sample. The fireplace is a nice touch and they provide the log. It does a good job warming up the room and is nice to doze off to while watching a little tv with the lights out. Spa is nice.
because it was by the morro bay rock yes the room smelled.
Nothing The room was dirty, used kleenex on the side of the bed.
We didn't like the uninterested staff, who looked if they didn't care at all about their business.
good location Breakfast was the worst part of the deal; cold prepacked muffins, no coffe, no tea, no drink while advertising "continental breakfast included"
The location to Hwy 101 was very good. The room met all my expectatons and exceeded on some counts. I would recommend this place to a friend. I wish people would be a little more friendly with their meet and greet. a smile and a few words of welcome go a long way to making the stay at a place of accommodation (for which I am the paying customer) so much more pleasant. they could practice this at Bay view Inn.
The hotel is a hill away from the Embarcadero, so great location for walking and not have to worry about parking. The hotel is under new management/ownership from one of my last visits. Those previous owners almost made me not want to return but I am glad I did. The new staff is really nice. Clean room, great breakfast room, staff is friendly and accommodating. Great location for heading down to the Embarcadero or up to the shops on Main Street. I stayed alone and felt safe and it was quiet, with the exception of the wildlife, which the hotel staff cannot control. I am definitely staying here again.
It is 1 block from the embarcadero. Walking distance to shopping and restaurants. Breakfast could have been better. Cereal, toast, pastry, coffee and juice.
Friendly staff, clean rooms. The location within walking distance to the boardwalk and Main st. Of course the free breakfast pretty much a continental breakfast with waffles which were good.
Perfect balance; friendly and over beyond helpful, without being obtrusive, staff. Great location for walking around town and great selection to restaurants like; BBQ Restaurant right behind the hotel and 4 min. walk to Hungry Fisherman, delicious fish and chips. The hotel itself gives a relaxing and comfortable vibe. All the commoditys one could ask for.
We booked this room based on the price, the fact that it had AC, and the reviews of the hotel for cleanliness. The price was much more affordable for us and we were happy with our stay. We were able to easily walk to the strip of businesses on the waterfront with our 3 month old baby and the hotel room was pretty clean, which was awesome since we had a baby with us. The only thing that bothered me was the AC wasn't cooling the room. We tried everything but woke up to a very warm room in the middle of the night that really worried me having a sleeping baby with us. We just opened the windows after that to cool the room down and it seemed to help. More than anything, we seemed to be having a day of rude encounters at businesses on our travels, and getting a warm, welcoming, and friendly woman to greet us at the front desk was such a relief and so nice for us! We'll definitely be looking this hotel up for our next stay. They even left us a discounted price to stay another night if we wanted! Although we weren't able to with our baby having a tough trip, it was a nice offer to get!
Tempurpedic matress was nice. Room was clean, reasonably priced versus other hotels. Counter staff was very polite and helpful. Short walk to stores, restaurants and embarcadero. Located under breakfast deck, could hear chairs being scraped thru ceiling (very noisy). Toilet made noise every time someone flushed, very small corner shower. Continental breakfast choices weren't that great.
Breakfast is free but they could have add something else to make it more enjoyable.
The rooms were very nice We would suggest bananas on the breakfast menu
Extremely helpful staff
walking distance to cerro (the big mountain in town) trails. Far from the downtown corridor. , you have to drive or bike into town.
Very nice room Rather hard to get to room not enough close parking
We always have a great stay at this hotel. We will definitely be back the next time we are in San Luis Obispo.
My room was clean, quiet and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very helpful and polite. The hotel is in a great location, close to SLO, shopping and the beach areas. I would stay again.
Quiet and clean No elevator
The hotel was comfortable, the room clean, well arranged with an excellent bed; something we've had every time we stayed at a Great Western. Decent price. Good, helpful staff. We'll use this chain as our default hotel.
Price and all other aspects of the hotel were good. Nothing fancy, but the hotel satisfied what I wanted for this trip. Wine and cheese benefit could be improved or dropped, minimal effort was done on the cheap.
Clean bathrooms, great staff!
was clean, quiet, convenient location, nice staff breakfast was free but not very good.
This basic room provided comfortable beds, a clean room and bathroom, a good breakfast, and updated furniture and electronics. Plenty of outlets. Couldn't hear anything from adjacent rooms. We just needed a place to rest during our road trip and this place was by far the most expensive we stayed at. If you have to make a last minute reservation be prepared to pay at least a 50% hike up.
large rooms, suite hotel which is great for families complimentary breakfast and reception staff friendly and helpful location parking hotel is looking a bit dumpy in terms of cleanliness carpets were dirty and very worn overall interior was dark and needs freshening up first time i've stayed in the hotel where i've had to call housekeeping for cleaning/service
Carpets seemed to be worn in lounge area
The hotel was under construction & I was not advised prior to my stay
Great free breakfast clean quiet comfortable. Good beds. No
Breakfast and happy hour were great The air conditioner was poor, carpets were dirty
Why I booked the room, the site said WiFi access for free. But the hotel said there was fee and usually website other than theirs do not give correct info. I argued with them finally they gave me the access for free. Not a good experience. Very old hotel.
- breakfast - free happy hour - AC didn't work - was given a queen instead of king room - was charged the wrong rate (booking.com rate was $200/nt, theirs was $290) - front desk didn't care that the AC didn't work or that I was given the wrong room, instead told me to book through their site and not booking.com, had to spend 15m getting them to agree on the originally booked price
The rooms were clean. Staff was friendly. Hot shower with great water pressure. Great location. Floors were laminate and cold. Needed more blankets. Towels were awful. P.E. kind of awful.
Pictures online made rooms look great. Reality was run down room with a new coat of paint. Dirty dirty dirty. Smeared fecal matter on bathroom door. Continental breakfast was stale cereal and bread for toast. Awful place and will never stay again.
Good hotel in walking range to restaurants and sightseeing. Breakfast room is REALLY small, had to take it to the room.
The room was clean and comfortable. The bed was a little firm for my liking but not too bad. It appeared the room above ours (we were in 101) is the owner/manager residence. Could here every footstep all night long. Sounded like kids playing and running through the house. Multiple loud bumps through the night which awakened us.
Location Bedbugs!!!! A pure catastrophe!!!!
Clean room, good location, comfortable stay Cold showers, unfriendly staff
I liked the location of the Travelodge and the staff was very nice. The toilet was constantly running and the refrigerator, when plugged in, had a very high pitched sound that was constant. There was not any ventilation system within the room so windows had to be left open which I didn't necessarily deem as safe while I was sleeping being a single, female traveler.
That they were able top accommodate on short notice. The location was quick and easily accessible. The front desk was not helpful at all, infact I am investigating whether or not they charged our credit card twice. It was almost like they were running a scam on us. Even though we already paid for our reservation, they called us over and over saying the reservation did not go thru. They took oour credit card # number again, we warned them, we do not want to see our card charged twice. They annoyed us with at least 10 phonecalls. Rediculous!
the bed was conforttable. the toilet sit was broken. old microway
There was a rat in our room!! Owner was rude and nasty when the issue was brought up to him.
mostly location staff very nice
No bottom sheets on bed! We had two rooms for two nights and both rooms were the same, you sleep on the mattress and have only the comforter. It's uncomfortable but worst of all you know they don't wash the mattress and they likely don't wash the comforter every guest.
Friendly staff, comfortable bed, clean room, EXCELLENT LOCATION Outdated bathroom
It was the cheapest place I could find and I guess I got what I paid for.
The check-in was super fast, staff was efficient, great value. It is not a gorgeous hotel, but if you want clean, a good bed, and a place to sleep while you see the sights, it is a great value. It was exactly what we would expect for the price we paid. Nothing to cpmplain about.
I honestly did not like anything at the Anchor Inn Morro Bay. First of all, the service was terrible. It would take a couple of minutes for a person to come out and help. The first room we went to smelled dingy and soggy so we moved to another room, and it was not any better. The room was dirty, the carpets had tears, and the bedsheets had cigarette holes. Worst of all, after we slept we discovered bed bugs in the bed. do not stay here.
After I left my wallet behind, staff contacted me to let me know and then were very accommodating in making arrangements to have it sent to me.
The housekeeper was using our bathroom when we got into our room...so weird. Also, there was not fitted sheet on the bed. That seems really gross to me.
This is one of the worst hotels I've stayed in over many years. At max, I'd pay $59 a night as it is basically a roof over your head. We paid $189 due to it being Cal Poly move-in weekend but you can't charge that amount for the hotel it is. It hasn't been renovated for over 10 years I'm guessing by the look of the rooms.
wifi not working. 3 lights not working. dirty towels. shower drain blocked.
Found a used " Q-tip" on floor next to the bed. Other than that our stay was good
My stay here was very comfortable. It was clean, the staff was hospitable & it was in a great location. The price was very reasonable also. I would definitely stay here again.
I was really impressed with everything. The Staff were helpful in every way.
Easily accessible from the freeway, clean sheets, and towels. It was the small details that could be better. The bathroom needs some repairs done. Shower was not working properly and water kept dripping from the bathtub faucet.
My room was clean and staff were friendly. The mattress in the room sagged in the middle, the wifi was very weak, and there were homeless people hanging out by the dumpsters.
There was a mistake with our reservation and they were very unhelpful in trying to help. The person in front of us even had the same mistake with their reservation and they were unwilling to do anything to try to resolve the situation. On top of a horrible check in experience, we checked into our room and had a giant bug in the room. They were helpful in letting us change rooms after we told them about the bug.
Actually a nice place to stay for the price you pay. Internet. Kept going in and out. Had to be right by lobby to get a constant connection.
It's located adjacent to a Denny's and iHop and other restaurants are a stones throw away. The bed was very hard and the floor carpet looked dingy.
Location, friendly staff, free parking, free wifi, free snacks at 5, free continental breakfast.
Roman spa and artwork.
The area that it's in. TV did not work. Air conditioning did not work...so hot I could not sleep. Two keys were given to me. Only one worked. When I told the staff about my stay all they said was 'have a good day'
The views and the space in the room. no
Close to the birding event we were attending We are seniors and there is no elevator. Fortunately, guest helped us bring up luggage.
This guest did not leave comments about this hotel.
The room had a fireplace in it. No one was there for us to check in, also our room was filthy! There were Advils all over the floor, and old watch, and some pieces of trash how they could have been missed I have no idea! Not to mention I have a 1 year old that puts everything in her mou
It is very pleasant and I enjoyed the breakfast. My room downstairs was not available because they were cleaning the carpet and it was wet. I did not ask for a first floor room or a handicapped room but the stairs just about did me in. Also the toilet in 225 was very low with no grab bar.
A well thought out and informative hotel and Morro Bay guide and a very helpful staff.
Good close proximity to town and embarcadero
The hotel was very clean. staff was friendly. the spa was nice. Too close to highway and no air conditioning.
This hotel is in a great location for walking down to the harbor. It was very quiet. The breakfast left a lot to be desired. We tried it and then just ended up going out.
Our stay was amazing! Great breakfast which included an omelette station was included in our rate. Our room was extremely spacious and we were greeted with bottled water at check in. Staff was extremely friendly and courteous. Stacy and team even provided a mini snack basket in honor of my husband's birthday. After finding out that we were extremely sore from an ATV trip, they allowed us to soak in the hot tub after hours. The restaurant staff even went as far as to provide us with free winery passes. Again, our stay was perfect!! We are already planning our trip back to this location.
We were able to make a reservation through Kayak when most other hotels were already booked for the 4th of July. Pretty much one of the most disappointing stays we've ever experienced. The room smelled musty, the room was super overpriced due to the holiday, the staff was unpleasant, continental breakfast was not included, the room was small and had an awkward setup. This hotel was unlike my past Marriott stays at other locations.
The breakfast option - food was good, and menu selection has a lot of options. The cooler to control the room temperature. While it was nice to have the thermostat to control the air, I was very difficult to make the room temperature comfortable. One degree lower in temperature made the room freezing, while one degree higher made the room hot and stuffy.
Room was good, bar open till 10pm, has everything one needs for a nice stay while in town for other events. Busy weekend so the price was steep.
Exceptional spa service by Melissa and an overall state of mind that is total relaxation. Absolutely loved it. Nothing to dislike
Unique character , nice location, friendly staff.. Having Mount Madonna so close by to be able to hike or jog up in the morning was great. Also very nice pool area. Restaurant and café very good. All in all a good value. A little dated
There are li me 200+ rooms to stay in and each one has a different theme to them! The foods is great and the overall feel of this place is comfort! The staff were very nice and helpful. The breakfast was a little burnt but that is the first time eating breakfast there...I just hope it was a fluke!
I needed to book a room that had two queen beds, this was one of the few hotels in the area that had last minute availability. Lack of network access. I would never stay anywhere that I knowingly be disconnected from the Internet. It's a requirement for my job to have access at all times and makes life much more difficult if I'm trying to check everything on my phones data.
Pool area, good size room, parking close, sliding glass door to patio, great diner next door, quick aces to freeway, private area Late check in under staffed late room check in :( needs some interior updating sheers torn fake flowers got to go trim the roses get a Gardner has potential
close to everything the breakfast
Great service, location, beds and showers!
Smallish room, but it was quiet, clean and comfy.
My friends and I stayed at the Avenue Inn after driving through Big Sur. We arrived after 10 pm and were greeted by Saul, who showed us to our room and gave some excellent dinner recommendations for late at night. The room was in great condition (newly renovated) and very comfortable for 4 adults to sleep in. Saul helped us in the morning by providing additional towels and helped with checkout as well. Overall we were very happy! Nothing - 100% would stay here again.
The location was concient however it in no way made staying at that hotel worth it. The hotel was dirty, old and run down. All which would have been fine if the price was right. However upon checking in the front desk staff insisted we owed more money then Kayak said and tried to hassle us into paying more. They did no provide a print out of the costs and we we finally did get an itemized recipt it was clear they were gouging us.
The proximity of the motel to the places we were visiting. the carpet was not as clean as I would have liked it to be. There was also a significant noise incident with drunk men pounding on doors, yelling, and generally acting obnoxious between 1 AM and 3:30 AM within the motel complex. If there was security at the site, this incident could have been cut much shorter.
Registration was brusque and wasn't sure what to do with my credit card returned by the clerk who licked her fingers during sign in.
location-quiet even though next to the freeway no hoghway noice-nice size room decebt parking very clean overpricded=hoildau weekend
Price, clean, parking. Poor internet wifi in my room which was far from lobby.
It was affordable and conveniently located. The bed wasn't terrible and the room contained a mini fridge and microwave. I was able to book a room on short notice. It was a cold night and the heater kept me warm enough. I arrived around 9 pm. First I waited at the desk for several minutes ringing the bell and eventually hollering "hello?" toward the back to find out if there was a live human around. Still nothing. I called them from my cell phone and a woman picked up and apologetically emerged from the back, appearing to have just woken up from a dense, deep sleep. She mentioned nonchalantly that she didn't think the wifi was working and hoped it came back by morning. The room was nothing fancy but had at least the essentials. The wifi was out for most of the night but the cable worked. I immediately found several small ants in the bathroom, which didn't freak me out much because I respect ants for their tenacity and teamwork, but would still much prefer not to have them in my room. I could not get any water to come out of the shower no matter which ways I turned, tilted, and twisted the knob. I didn't expect much from this place, and chose it solely on price and location, but I still left quite disappointed.
Convenient location. Booked on Kayak the same night. A Sunday night booking so I think there were available rooms everywhere. For a Budget option it is a great place. Coffee, Juice and Rolls for the breakfast is a nice morning starter.. Parking is very tight. Outside seems run down but the rooms are kept nicely.
When looking for a simple place to rest while traveling, the San Luis inn does that well. While being a short walk to downtown it is also close to the highway without being loud. Breakfast was a little sparse but Jack in the box is across the street.
clean room, new quiet heater/air conditioner, great price It's very close to the highway so when there is traffic you hear it. Nothing fancy, but everything in the room worked, including the wifi.
The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The restroom too was adequate. Everything was great for a one night stop through San Luis. The location was literally down the street from the freeway, a gas station, the downtown area and two mins away from the mission we were there to see. Sure the exterior is no Hilton resort, but the price is great. The pool is basically a trash or deconstructed pit, but if the owner is smart, he'll just have it filled and have the area made into more parking space. Because a pool is not necessary for the place.
great breakfast uncomfortable pillows
The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating. The pool was empty and in disrepair.
The hotel was very accommodating when I called ahead and requested an early check-in since we had an early afternoon wedding to attend. It also seemed like the bathrooms had been recently updated. However, we were uncomfortable being located in such a cramped, behind the laundry facilities hotel room. There was a hole in the wall near the mini-fridge and we had to park way down the street near someone's home because there was no parking when we got back.
All very clean. The room was comfortable and the bed was super comfortable. I loved that the room had a fridge and microwave, most places don't. Everything was great.
Stayed the night. The room was large, clean and comfortable for our need. The Inn is not a vacation spot itself but it is cheap and a great place to stay if you have a car and you are passing in the area or would like to viait thia nice town. There isn't much one can expect for such a low cost but 'breakfast' was coffee and orange juice, two types of store cakes and two types of cereal. OK
Clean room Fridge Microwave Wood floors Shower and tub Pricing No pool(empty) Low budget breakfast(should just not have one) Fridge needed more cleaning Parking (big trucks in small spots) All night people in and out Curtains (need darker ones that fit windows)
The staff was unfriendly. The pool is under construction and this wasn't disclosed before booking. The room had an overpowering smell of cleaner. The free breakfast was only cold cereal.
Great little place. Everything was clean. The hotel was right there when i needed it.
checking out nothing, it really was a dump.
Pros: - The keys to the room worked! - Flat screen TV - House keeping kept room clean - Good Location in San Luis Obispo - All rooms are non-smoking. Cons: - The staff at the front office we RUDE. - WiFi was almost non existent. - Breakfast had Danish Muffins, Regular Muffins and Bagel, coffee and couple of juices. No Cereal or any hot breakfast. - The room does not have power outlets in the right places. If you want to charge your phones and laptop. The outlets next to the desk are take by the TV. You have to use the ones next to the bed. A big NO-NO in today's world of devices that need charging. - Since all rooms are non smoking, there are quite a few people who smoke
close to cal poly slow and downtown staff did not know how to get my Wyndham rewards points/credit
Staff was friendly and decently accommodating. "Fresh" bathroom towels were dirty, shower went from scolding hot to ice cold intermittently, and the bed was a rock. Not to mention the pool was a shade of green...If it wasn't for the staff being fairly pleasent this would have been a one star, instead of a two star rating. By far the worst Ramada Inn we've stayed, which is sad because SLO is beautiful and the location is great.
Staff,bad and big rooms
Nothing at all. Pretty deceiving pictures and reviews. Poorly cleaned room, with old sheets, furniture, bath facilities, and air conditioning/heater. Billing was troublesome, being charged incorrectly twice and price is too high for low quality, services and amenities. Other costumers also were complaining about heater malfunction and poor services. Breakfast was stail and very poor. Save your money and stay at a motel 6or a super 8 and save 30 bucks as well.
Dirty rooms, bugs in the bed, staff was unhelpful and unfriendly.
Not worth the money. Bed sheets were not clean. Overall bad experience.
The same kind of room and facilities as a Motel 6 at triple the price.
The location was perfect. Direct access to the freeway and there are plenty of convenience stores and restaurants near by. Also only a 10-15min walk to downtown. I reserved 2 rooms. When I arrived I was given two upstairs rooms that were not ready yet. I walked in and they were both trashed. After waiting a few mins thinking that the room service lady that was next door was going to come over and clean it, but didn't, I went back to the office and requested that I got a change of rooms. It was a little bit of a hassle at first because the manager tried to tell me to wait for them to be cleaned.
Room was large - had a one bedroom suite Floor was dirty, afraid to go barefoot, room generally was dingy, tv remotes in both tvs didn't work even after asking the maid to fix them, Price hiked way up for a college weekend, paying as much for dingy hotel as a good hotel should cost.
The great customer service! No.
Living room and bedroom each with a tv which helps when you have kids. Breakfast is made hot to order. Loved the hotel. Parking was a tad tight.
From the moment we arrived we knew that we had booked the best hotel for the price in town. We drove by 9 other SLO hotels and Quality Suites was quality.
