Pros: Lovely spacious clean room. The garden was lovely and the owners very nice. They even wrapped up the rest of the breakfast we didn't eat for our onward journey! Would definitely stay here again.
Cons: would be nice to have a kettle in the room although I'm sure the owners would have made us coffee had we asked. The parking was also in a public car park opposite but it seemed a very safe area anyway.

Pros: We had an amazing stay at Chateau la Moune. It is a beautiful place and we had a wonderful room. The Pool and garden area are the perfect place to rest and calm down. Francoise hospitality was incredible. We didn’t miss anything and for a little extra we were served with a 3 courses menu made by him in the evening at a table outside. Same for the gourmet breakfast where he even served organic juice and self-made Croissants, bread and a super delicious hot chocolate. Overall a fantastic stay!
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Very characterful property and the owners work very hard to make your stay a success. When our taxi failed to turn up we were given a lift into Bordeaux - that says it all.
Cons: The location is peripheral to Bordeaux which is a 15 minute drive away.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We decided to go to Bordeaux for 3 days before going to Spain (Catalunya). While driving we already got a phonecall in the afternoon from the chateaux to ask us if we wanted dinner when we arrived and what we would like to eat. We found this very comfortable and friendly. Upon arrival we got the key to our room straight away and were told that dinner would be ready in a couple of minute. We had a lovely 3-course dinner. The garden is oh so relaxing! It was nice to dine alongside the pool in the evening. We really love dogs so it was pleasant to see that there were 2 dogs walking around (we missed them the days in Spain). It was nice to lay by de pool in the afternoon, especially because it was 43°C! Bordeaux is really not far away and the next evenings we went by car and it took us only 15 minutes to drive into the parking lot at the center of Bordeaux. The room are really cozy and the interior matches the chateaux-feeling. You receive a key upon arrival and a electric one to open the gate in the front when you want to leave the chateau. Very easy! Breakfast was simpel (croissant, coffee, some bread and jam). We really liked the cake that they baked freshly in the morning.
Cons: Nothing worth mentioning.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Fantastic. Beautiful, romantic, cozy chateau, surrounded by a quiet garden with ancient trees. And we were welcomed there by an amazing couple of owners - Eric and Manel - who were incredibly nice, attentive and caring. With their extraordinary and warm attitude and great culinary art, we felt there like in a mother's arms. We’ll miss it a lot. Highly recommended.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We loved how the host made a gourmet dinner for us on request and served it by candlelight in a French country kitchen. Breakfast was also made to order. They had reserved an lovely upstairs room for us, but since the stairs were difficult for my wife, they graciously changed our room to a lovely downstairs room. Parking was just outside the door of the room. Place felt very homey but very elegant. It is a chateau. Not located in Bordeaux, but easy drive into the city.
Cons: Nothing.

Cons: Nothing..apart from having to leave!

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Lovely French Château in Bordeaux. Beautiful inside and out. An amazing hostess, Carla was wonderful and accommodating. She’s friendly and very welcoming. Her breakfasts every morning were delightful. Fresh fruit, pastries and eggs your way. We stayed three nights but could have stayed our entire time with her! Thank you so much for a fantastic visit.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The first impression of Chateau Lamothe du Prince Noir was one of being awe-struck! It is every bit as beautiful as all the photos indicate and then exceeds the photos 100% in reality! We were given a choice of two huge, inseparably beautiful, rooms with equally huge en suit bathrooms that were stunningly and uniquely decorated. The views from all the rooms are simply wonderful because the Chateau is surrounded by a moat that is fed by a lake and parkland all around. It is a fairytale castle with all the trappings of high-end comfort you could possible want! The peace was palpable and the breakfasts were delicious, fresh as a new day, indulgently epicurean and in a dining room fit for royalty! Carla - our host - was beyond charming and hugely knowledgeable about the locale and food and wine. She is the consummate hostess who has thought of everything to make your stay feel like the ultimate indulgence. She cooks, preserves, makes jams and marmalades and has renovated and refurbished the Chateau with consummate taste and expertise. Most of the phenomenal furniture has been rescued from being cast aside and then lovingly restored and re-apholstered by ... yes you got it! ... the uber-talented Carla! It is unequivocally value for money given the high-end level of - well - everything! And the ultimate question? Would we stay there again? IN A HEARTBEAT!
Cons: ABSOLUTELY NOT A THING QUALIFIES AS EITHER BEING "NOT TO OUR LIKING" NOR "COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER"! If I had to be really really really picky ... it would have been nice to be able to check-in a little earlier on the day of arrival. Check-in was at 5.00pm and because the place is so stunning - it would have been lovely to arrive and be able to fully enjoy and explore it before the light fell! But it's a minor minor cavil ... and I feel almost wicked saying it! Chateau Lamothe du Prince Noir delivers soooo much on every other possible level!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Property close to perfect! Owner delightful Fabulous

9.2 Excellent
Pros: A fairytale castle with wonderful views and interesting history. The pool area was attractive and we were lucky enough to have it to ourselves a couple of times. Breakfast was great, especially the freshly made omlette and we enjoyed eating on the balcony overlooking the courtyard. We had booked a family room, which took the form of two, large inter-connecting rooms, each with their own en-suite bathroom. A small kitchenette was provided for the use of guests with a fridge, kettle and eating area (no cooking facilities). All the staff at the chateau were helpful and friendly, and we particularly enjoyed the wine-tasting and tour of the wine caves which was included free of charge as part of our stay. We really felt we had stayed somewhere special.
Cons: The Chateau was perfect, however. restaurants were a car journey away (Libourne was the nearest large town - 15 minutes drive).

Pros: Melanie was a delightful and thoughtful hostess. The continental breakfast was set out neatly every morning and Melanie was accomodating with early or late starts. We were given lots of information about the area and all the attractions. The room was very large, very clean and comfortable. We really enjoyed having access to the fully-equipped kitchen, and the outdoor area to eat a quiet dinner, in peaceful surroundings looking over the fields, as we are travelling for a long time. We also had a lovely rural outlook from our room. We could access Bordeaux, St Emilion, and the Arcachon with many beautiful drives, particularly around St Emilion.

7.1 Good
Pros: A pretty property where much love and time has been spent in renovating it. The owner is very friendly and showed us where to swim and eat out close to the property. Our kids loved the horses and it’s lovely to sit outside and have your dinner under the trees.
Cons: We were not happy to find that after booking a family unit it turned out that we had a shared kitchen, dining, living area situation. With children it wasn’t our preference, however it turned out not to be too bad and we enjoyed our stay. I would make a recommendation to add a fan in the bedrooms. Thank you for a good stay

I felt I left after spending 4 nights as a friend.
Cons: As I am not a dog lover, I sometimes wished the dogs were not always around, especially in the evening when we were eating outside and these would be close to the table waiting for food...
