Breakfast fabulous, hotel very clean and central location There wern't any
Location, near bus stop. Balcony
Mostly Everything. Hot food at breakfast not very hot. No kettle in room for making tea or coffee
Stayed in apartment battached to hotel. Clean, but a little bare. 15 mins walk from harbour
Staff were very helpful indeed and more than willing to provide local information. The spa facilities were also lovely, if a little small. The breakfast was a particular highlight with a huge range of food and quality each day.
pleasant staff It was too far to walk to the port in comfort and uphill to walk back-not good if you have back problems either as beds very hard. Noisy too, as road works in progress in the street below. If without car which we were no info about bus times etc
I enjoyed the use of the spa facilities. The breakfast choice was excellent. We only stayed 1 night so did not make use of the restaurant. The only small thing was that the room smelt smokey when we first arrived, however I mentioned this and a maid came to spray it and this helped in freshening up the room.
Good location. Great breakfast The website said that there was a spa and a pool, but both were closed due to renovations during my stay.
Breakfast buffet was outstanding. Very nice simple pool and spa on the roof. The Telegraph bar is most pleasant.
Staying at Capri was very nice and we found the hotel staff to be very friendly and very helpful. We found the hotel and apartments very clean and well looked after. Overall a very pleasant stay and would return there without a doubt. Thank You.
The tall male member of staff was very pleasant and helpful. The air conditioning in the room I was given did not work at all, and after a change of room the following day the main light did not work. I felt that both faults were obvious, which led me to form the impression that the hotel is not well-maintained. The female staff member to whom I complained about the faulty facilities made me feel very awkward - as a paying guest of the hotel I did not appreciate her attitude at all.
Distance from Mahon Centre and tired decor in room
excellent breakfast. amazing views. lovely staff. a little bit of walking into town which some people could stuggle with.
Very good! staf is very friendly!!! Trully recommend!
veiws of harbour beds and small room
The accommodations were good and the staff friendly and helpful
I like the view to the harbour and water You had to walk a lot of stairs to reach the hotel
Good standard, value for money I found the hotel hard to find and carparking a problem
The location, the friendly staff, and the proffessional running of the hotel, especially the blond lady that was at breakfast The bedroom was a little cold, we where not able to work the heating
Very friendly and helpful staff, air-conditioning a boon, shady garden for sitting in heat of the day, wonderful position overlooking the harbour and watching the fire-works, gargantuan breakfast, try the pomada, easy walking distance to bus-station, old town and local squares where you can stroll in the evening with the townsfolk.
Good location, good hotel, good room, good price! Not being able to get a meal 5 mins after the kitchen had closed.
The view from the room fronting the port in the morning! The room service did not have all the menu items available, I had to change my order many times in order to finally get something I like.
Functional hotel in somewhat old fashioned style, located 10 minutes from the old city, nice views from some rooms over the harbour
Courtesy of all staff. Magnificent Mahon harbour view room. Buffet dinner at 15Euros good value No hot drink making facilities in room!!
We have stayed at the hotel on many occasions and you can always be assured of a warm reception. None. the buffet restaurant is also very good
We were given a free upgrade to a suite, which was to an excellent standard. The staff were friendly, professional and very helpful No
The facilities were good and the position of the hotel was excellent We were not impressed by the self service restaurant although the food was reasonable if you were late to dinner it had been hanging around for a while. We would recommend bed and breakfast, rather than half or full board.
We had a lovely room with a great view over the port. Only criticism, was the pool furniture was old and uncomfortable
Nothing I did not like the very loud noise of the band. It spoils the beautiful look over the harbour at night. You could not talk with each other because of the music and you have to speak with a very loud voice to the waitress to place your order. the coffee machine was broken down and the machine who did work gave coffee drip by drip.
Close to lovely Es Castell. Great location and easy access to airport. Fantastic views across the port of Mahon.Enjoyed pool. Breakfast enjoyable Decor of hotel a little tired and threadbare. Not quite what I expected from Barcelo chain.
The staff were very pleasant and helpfull. I thought the food was very poor. The beds were very uncomfortable in the roon i stayed in.
The hotel is in a great location in the Es Castel area. It is just a 5 minutes bus ride from the center of Mahon. The hotel was clean and we had a wonderful ocean and bay view after paying a small supplement. The bathroom size was adequate and the shower had good water pressure. The beds were comfortable. The breakfast had a wide variety of European foods. The hotel does not have ice machines. The air conditioning did not work very well -- it did not really cool the room down that much. The rooms, bathrooms, and hallways needed upgrading. We found some big beetle-type bugs running around in our room even though we were on the fourth floor. Finding parking near the hotel for a rental car was a challenge.
The location for us was very good, we like to walk to restaurants in the evening and the harbour was lovely. We did not like the fact that we had to move two days before the end of our holiday. The Hotel Capri, in Mahon was very nice but we would have prefered to be in a hotel situated more like the Hamilton
the staff - the food - the room - the hotel itself - 100% first class. i was in mahon to attend my brother in laws funeral staying at the barcalo made the unhappy event bearable. none
We have stayed at The Hamilton in previous years, and their food and service has remained at a high level.
Very pleasant stay but the room was very small and the shower and other facilities were a little tired.
Food was very good & the staff are very freindly and helpful decor in the rooms where a bit tired looking
Buffet, although little vegetables The first room they gave us was like a room in a low star hostel. We claim for another room and we had to stay in the same room 2 nights (we were only 5...). Moreover, the bathroom was not cleaned during our stay in the first room (towels in the same bad position we had left them, no shower gel for the second day). After that, they change us to a better quality room, in a fourth floor, sea sightseeing, bigger and better equiped.
It was handy for completing business in Mahon. We stayed on half board and the food was not up to the standard my friend had previously experienced
Staff very friendly although we struggled to communicate with my little Spanish and her little English. Room was very comfortable and quiet. Hotel was very close to main shopping centre/bars/restaurants. Would definately stay there again.
Staff were very friendly, room was very modern and very clean, good location too No outside parking, however, free carpark only 2min walk
The rooms are very clean and modern. The air conditioning works well and the complimentary soaps etc in the bathroom were much appreciated. There is also a fridge in the room which was useful. The bedrooms are very good but the public areas are small and very poor. We had arranged to meet friends in the hotel bar for a drink. Very uninviting and looked as if it was shut. We asked for wine. No wine. We asked for Gin (which is made in Mahon!!) No gin. There is only one member of staff working there who appears to work all day and all night! Very friendly but did not give a very professional feel to the hotel. Breakfast was uninspiring and pretty poor. It is a shame this hotel has spend so much money doing the bedrooms which are lovely and have totally overlooked the public areas.
Quality of the room facilities. New, stylish and innovative room facilities set it apart from other hotels. Locals working on building project at 0530
Nothing at all except the opoor manager who was overworked to a standstill !!!!!! Disliked everything. No bar, no restaurant, no wi fi, rubbish breakfast. Hated it hated it hated it !!!!!
Stayed for a week over Christmas, quiet, friendly, comfortable. Great coffee at breakfast, but the food could have been better.
The friendliness of staff (excellent!), the tranquillity although the central location, very good value for money Maybe try to secure a couple of parking positions for the hotel customers (although difficult at that area)
A small well presented hotel with friendly helpful staff a few minutes walk from the centre of Mahon. Ideal city centre location.
The receptionist was very sympathetic and helpful. The room was clean and of excellent quality.
The hotel felt very comfortable and they made you feel very welcome but with no stuffiness. Overall excellent. Nothing
Evening meal was not up to the expectd standard
the view not at all 4star hotel, 2 at the most
Relaxed, laid back. Excellent in reception, restaurant less so. The food in restaurant was adequate only.Room was smelly because of lack of airing only.
quality of equipement, material sound from pool
The friendly and helpful staff. The tranquility of the location and that it was a small hotel. nothing
Excellent location, but must have a hire car, for touring the Island of Menorca, great views across to Mahon and only 30 mins drive from Mahon. Excellent facilities [bar, restaurant, pool etc]. Although we booked the hotel in January, for a two week stay, we were relocated to a higher grade hotel, within the hotel group, for the last five nights of our holiday, at Son Bou, with no extra cost to ourselves. The second hotel was superb in all respects and the arrangements for the move were faultless. The move was as a result of no bookings at the Cala Llonga hotel at the end of September. The downside to the move was that we had to pack & unpack an extra time.
comfortable,excellent value for money
the view not allowed to use the pool after 7p.m.
peaceful and comfortable if a little dated The restaurant was poor and as the only one within 2 miles in a large residential/mooring a real missed opportunity
Perfect atmosphere for relax.
There was nothing open only 6 people in the whole 120 room hotel no train as advertised no entertainment as advertised no poolside bar open the area is very very quite none of the 4 shops open ghost town
It was easy to find, cheap to stay, and had very thing I needed. Staff was very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was included but wasn't good. Spent extra money to have a dinner at one of the nearby sister-hotels, and went through the pains of making a reservation and getting dressed up for it, but it was only a buffet with decent food. Located close to a few beaches, but the better ones were far away
The staff friendliness above all and the extra activities (sports centre with mountain biking, diving, tennis, trekking, etc...) Accessibility (it's close to the airport, but is almost only accessible by car - poor bus service)
excellent helpful staff breakfast excellent location breath taking he bathroom in need of updating
Its very old fashioned furniture wise.. Could really do with refurbishing..
The staff were friendly. The hotel has a magnificent view. The food was good. The pool was good. The publice areas are extensive and nice.
I think the location over looking the bay is probably its best asset together with a great swimming pool. The choice of food at the breakfast is excellent lots of fruits and juices and cooked dishes, as well as on demand omelette. The dinner buffet is excellent value for money. Also the staff are very nice especially Ester at the reception and the housekeeper respects your timing. The harbour is walking distance and best to see at night with all its lights and restaurants ie @Peter's Dinkums The acoustic from the rooms is the only little thing and also only BBC world in english and no french channels on the tv.
Location, at three minutes walking to Punta Prima beach, which is a great beach. Inside hotel area, everything is very spacefully, with a lot of green areas, trees, 4 swimming-pools, and things for all family.
Convenient location, clean rooms, very friendly and helpful staff, good buffet breakfasts and dinners! Checking in and out took quite a while
I enjoyed our stay at the Hotel because it was relaxing, without too much disturbance from young people, particularly around the pool area. For a supposedly (applied for) 4 star hotel, the buffet food on every day of our 6 night stay was appalling.
The rooms were comfortable, clean and modern. The staff were friendly and helpfull. The spa was a little too dear. There was a wide choice of good quality food. The pool area was stylish, immaculate and spacious. The glass wall between the bathroom and bedroom could be a little "awkward" for friends when using the shower.
We travelled with another couple and were put into ajoining rooms which was very convenient and made out stay more pleasurable
It's a modern hotel, with all of the commodities that we can expect from a 4* hotel. The rooms are pleasant and clean.
The Staff were very helpfull and friendly. They were quick to move me after I complained about the location of my room. The rooms were very clean and modern. The room locations were badly planned as a lot of the rooms looked straight into another room with no view what so ever. I felt that I could not go out onto my balcony or leave the curtains open. I requested another room that was a lot quieter and looked out onto a field. The food was nice but not very hot.
we have stayed at this hotel before (13 years ago) and have used the barcelo chain since, this hotel offers a wide range of facilities to cater for every age. an ideal family hotel very popular with other europeans not just british holiday makers.we will be returning.
The quietness and non-commercial aspect of of the location I do not believe that the Buffet Main Meat,Fish,Veg selection was of 4* quality; I am basing this judgement on constant use of 4* hotels when away from home both in UK and Abroad
Lovely setting peaceful quiet resort, I was on holiday on my own and felt safe and relaxed at all time. Hotel perfect for older people not really for families. Every thing about the S'Algar is good perhaps the chef needs to stop putting sauce on everything and stick to simple cooking.
A well appointed 1970`s hotel,a par of the S`Algar developement, built around mature tropical gardens.Room clean with effective aircon, buffet breakfast excellent choice and well prepared lasting pleasingly late(10.30).Rooms cleaned thoroughly daily.Pool immaculate & large. Service at pool bar dreadful.Buffet dinner not really worth eating.NB:S`Algar is 5kms from the nearest town San Lluis, and has 1 small supermarket and 2 restaurants,no sandy beach.I hired a car for 3 days out of 6 there.
Beautiful location, excellent facilities with very pleasant, relaxing environment within the hotel. Very good spacious room overlooking sea and air conditioning was very welcome. A very pleasant holiday.
