We loved the location of the hotel and the very pleasant staff. Malcesine was beautiful and I highly recommend a visit there The only disappointing thing was that our room was quite dark and the balcony was shared with other guests. The hotel was full and we couldn't move rooms. I would definitely use the hotel again but would upgrade to one of the rooms with the wide open views
The location The paper thin walls and dated decor.
The wonderful staff, great restaurant and lovely welcoming atmosphere, plus, of course, the breath-taking views.
A good hotel with an excellent half board offer. Good wine list with very good prices.
Location was beautiful and staff were polite. Overall hotel was kept clean and appealling. The weather was very hot on our stay and the rooms were not airconditioned, which made evenings in the room very uncomfortable, especially for the children, did ask the staff if they could do anything, fan etc but nothing was done. That was the only bad thing about our stay.
clean too expensive, very dated decor
The staff was always very nice and helpful. The hotel is situated in a very quiet place. The nearest bus stop (local tourist bus for Malcesine, Campagnola, Navene...) can be reached within 3 minutes. Another advantage was the swimming pool. You could buy a 3-course dinner for extra 6 EURO - for this money the food was more than good. The overall impression was very positive. The hotel is NOT situated where the map on booking.com shows it. The map on Booking.com situates the hotel close to Retelino (to the north from the center of Malcesine), while in reality the hotel is situated to the south of the center of Malcesine, i.e. if you want to go surfing, you have to go by car or by bus. As far as the hotel is concerned, the only real disadvantage was that my room shared the balcony with 2 other rooms, which is quite inconvenient especially when your neighbours are smokers - you get the smoke into your room.
Clean big room. Nice breakfast. Good situation. Balcony shared with another room was poor.
the personal was kındful
There is no thing I like in this hotel its typical family business hotel they did not respect the guest and even in the breakfast they close it and turnoff the coffee machine before they inform us if we need or any thing and the its really A poor choice and I did not find any guest reviews about this hotel on the website because its new in booking.com the hotel show 4 stars but its look like one or two stars maximum I reserved big room and they gave me Small one and the second day I said that I would like to leave the hotel because of the room and they change it but the hotel is not clean and there is a lot of Ants and insects in the bathroom
We liked the scenic, quite location. The staff were friendly and breakfast was good value.
The beach, the pool, the bar restaurant and the sport equipment. Staff was friendly, the view from the balcony is absolutely amazing. Bed was uncomfortable and rather short compare to our other stays. AC worked for only a part of the night and then quit. The wifi connection is super slow and not all TV s are flat screen.
Beautiful surroundings, lots of activities for children, three swimming pools + a private beach. Suits well to families Location of the hotel and the village of Limone is so remote, that car is a must (or taxi, which costs around 27 euros to Riva). Bus connections are unreliable. The so called 'Light lunch' was not at 4 star level, neither the dinner buffet. Lack of free wifi connection. Many of the hotels clients are on a package holiday which has an effect on the service and food. The service was not very attentive neither kind
Location, full service
Hotel staff very friendly, animation staff very friendly and lovely, we had an incident i n the middle of the night water coming through the ceiling and it was dealt with brilliantly, restaurant staff lovely all in all brilliant holiday Only the music at night was not to my taste, but nevertheless we still danced and had a good time
The Garda Lake Mass tourism at its worst. Unsatisfied with the quality, we have cut our stay two days shorter (5 nights instead of 7, the hotel tried to charge us for 7 nights, finally they have charged us for 6 nights. Nice example of corporate greed and shortsightedness.
Overall we were extremely satisfied with the hotel, staff, food, grounds etc. Villa Lucia, Location of the room was ideal, being down by the lake. Very quiet at night, but obviously not during the day being right next to the steps and public toilet. Room was not perfect and although kept very clean, it smelt very musty and damp. Noise of the internal fan (not air conditioning) which we could not turn off, kept us awake. Bed was not comfortable. TV reception appalling.
Dinner was excellent in quality and range - so many dishes to choose from. In retrospect, I would have preferred to have been closer to Limone itself as there was nowhere to go for an after-dinner stroll.
The food was lovely, the staff were friendly and the hotel was very clean.nothing bad to say! We also got upgraded when we arrived, cant complain!
This was one of our best holidays ever. The staff were superb and dealt with many queries efficiently and freindly e.g. one of our suitcases went missing at the airport. There are extensive facilities and a private beach. Our room was superb and we had a fantasitc view of Lake Garda. A good hotel for familieis with children - lots of acitvities - although good for the older couple like us. We really missed coming away and will recommend to all our friends. No faults at all
We enjoyed our stay very much. Nice activities for the children. Good food and helpful staff. They even arranged gluten free food for my wife and daughter which is not usually easy to get in southern Europe. Floor tiles in the swimming pool area were dangerously slippery after rain. Not safe for children.
Quiet, good location, super staff, lake view. As bar closed early a fridge and kettle in the room would have been good for early morning and late night coffee.
Nice views from the balcony, excellent breakfast (for Italy :), close to Malcesine, and bikes were for free at the hotel
The hotel room was clean, and came with the (paid-for) view of the lake. The breakfast was adequate. This is not a 4* hotel - it's not even a 3. We booked 3 nights but stayed only 1 such was the disappointment. There is no hotel staff after 18:30. This is a joke for a "4-star" hotel. There is no air-conditioning and no refridgerator. No fridge + no staff = how are you meant to get a cold drink at night? Answer - walk 3km to the town and buy some... When we asked the hotel staff about the lack of fridge and air conditioning there was no concern, and no equipment was available for hire. When we checked out after 1 night there was no concern or questioning by the staff regarding any issues. I suppose they were happy to get their money for nothing. You have to enter the hotel via an underground garage at night - what a joke.
The staff were excellent and the hotel and grounds were well kept. God swimming pool. The rooms were quiet tired and could do with some updating. This is a good budget hotel within the Malcesine area but approx 3k from town centre although hourly tourist bus is only €1.
The staff were very friendly, attentive and most helpful whenever we needed it. Very clean and tidy throughout No food available at night or lunch. Getting in front door at night would be helpful as opposed to through the underground garage.
excellent staff & food
The location was stunning. The staff were friendly and efficient, but always discreet. The hotel itself was a delightful mixture of old and new. A small suggestion. Being English I like to drink tea with my breakfast and I feel that a better brand could be on offer and Earl Grey should be available.
Scenery, staff attitude, hotel grounds & facilities
Excellent service and luxorious facilities. Relaxing, silent and very romantic atmosphere.
Location, room, food staff friendlyness and helpfulness, views. Quiet and relaxing. Walk into Malcesine
Family run hotel, interested in their guests, beautiful location - overlooking Lake Garda, all rooms with balcony, rooms with excellent specification - recently updated. Lovely gardens with enough loungers for everyone, shaded by trees, drinks and food brought to guests in the garden if they requested. Trouble-free booking of trips with reception. A number of languages spoken by staff. Tennis could be arranged at the adjacent hotel. Other guests regularly returned. Nothing at all.
very friendly and helpful staff. Arranged travel etc without any fuss. A most pleasant experience no
Facilities designed to allow for total relaxation while on holidays. No.
The service and the food were both of the highest standard. Staff are efficient, approachable and friendly. No
Location, the food, the staff and the facilities.
The quiet and superb location on the lakeside. Nothing was too much trouble for the friendly and courteous staff. Viw from balcony
Everything. The location was absolutely spectacular, the staff brilliant, and everything ran like clockwork. The food was of a high quality restaurant standard. Fantastic in every respect.
Very beautiful hotel on the beach of the lake. It has modern and convinient rooms. We had a room with a view of lake - spactaclular views!
Beautiful room with fantastic view
The Hotel was thoroughly enjoyable, the staff were extremely helpful and pleasant. The facilities were quite comprehensive despite the hotel being relatively small. A fantastic hotel.
Great breakfast every morning, and handy location just a short walk outside the town
The Hotel was really nice and great value for money. We particularly liked the owners attention to detail and hands on approach to the everyday running of the hotel. On small thing..it was unusually hot for October but there was no A/C
balcony view of Lake Garda, included use of spa facilities, large spacious room, very helpfull staff and great location close to centre of Malcesine but far enough away to be quiet and have great views - would definitaley recommend this hotel for anyone wanting a relaxing break on Lake Garda - Malcesine is great too - our favourite of the numerous lakeside towns that we visited. on very minor note - squash drinks instead of fresh juice for breakfast - although we found the same in other hotels in this area.
The location next to Lake Garda and the breakfast at the terrace was fabulous. We also found the tourist bus which ran to and from the centre of Malcesine very useful.
Have been in 4/5 star hotels from Maldives to Thailand but the Maximilian is something else. This is a wow factor hotel, the staff are incredible and the facilities luxurious! Recommend an upgrade to the suites for extra luxury! Nothing
The catering in this hotel was very good! Food was top quality. The staff in general were helpful. Rooms very clean, beautiful location, 25 min. walk from Malcesine. Rooms lead straight onto Lake Garda.
the staff attitude, large comfortable room, great dinner deal, amazing view
Overall experience, beautiful location betwen mountains overlooking Lake Garda. As Garda hotels go, this is one of teh best. No
The staff were very helpful and considerate, particularly the restaurant and bar staff who were excellent. The rooms were very nice with lovely views of lake Garda. The terrace and both the swimming pools were lovely places to relax at the hotel. We had booked a panaoramic room and were placed in a very nice room but the view was obscured by trees growing right outside. However, when we raised the matter the staff were very helpful in placing us in a better room.
The views, the access to the Lake and the surrounding countryside, the facilities offered by the hotel. The proximity to the town. The spaciousness and comfort of the hotel bedrooms, with their balconies and views. The overwhelming presence of Germans and the German language within the hotel. In Italy, I was anticipating an Italian hotel: however within Hotel Ilma, one could easily have assumed the hotel's location to have been in Germany. All greetings were initially in German e.g. "Morgen" and "Abend".
The hotel was excellently situated close to the village centre.Staff were friendly and polite. Facilities were excellent.
Staff Sauna, swimmingpool was opened only till 18.00 a clock
Excellent view, super clean spacious rooms, bed very comfortable, so were the pillows, good air conditioning system, pleasant staff Water in swimming pool was quite cold; walls are quite thin and you can be woken up by noisy neighbours
We enjoyed our stay very much but we found poor pressure on the shower in our room and water was always cold unless you were willing to rise before 7.15am to use the facility. We did report same on our first morning and noone got back to us.
We travelled to Malcesine for our wedding and chose Hotel Dolomiti based on other reviews. The location was very close to the bus stop and the castle where we were getting married, which made it very easy for the groom and others to walk to the castle. We stayed in a superior double room and it was a good size for the two of us. The hotel staff were very friendly and when we came back from our wedding, we were surprised to find a lovely bouquet of flowers in a vase waiting for us. Unfortunately, we were leaving the next day for Venice and didn't get to enjoy the flowers for too long.
Close to the centre for shopping and eating.Nice pool although quite small. Good value for money. Better than the 2 stars it is awarded.
Friendly staff, comfortable room and ensuite, great value for money. Buffet breakfast could have had a bit more choice.
Yes Very poor noise insulation. Could hear people in next room amd doors banging.
Good clean comfortable room, helpful staff. Our room was recently modernised, at the rear of the hotel (quieter) and air-conditioned at no extra cost. We found the food was very good and well-priced from Eu22 for 3 courses. Complaints come from half-boarders, but fault lies with their tour operators - pay less than Eu8 for full dinner. The Hotel is perfectly placed in centre of Malcesine. No coffee-making facilities in room. Poor selection at breakfast, toast, cereal, thin ham, processed cheese. (except at extra cost) However, coffee was excellent and abundant.
Centrally situated, quiet and the friendliness and helpfullness of management and staff. Nothing whatsoever.
The owners were very friendly, helpful and welcoming. Rooms were quite small but very clean. Fantastic location
pool, terrace, close to everything none
The staff were welcoming and very pleasant, they spoke very good english. the hotel was ideally situated close to the centre of malcesine. it was very clean and ours rooms were cleaned daily and clean towelsleft. the pool area was ideal. the buffet breakfast was lovely and at only 4euro was good value. we would recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a value for money break. Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been ideal.
Locality Breakfast basic, hard beds
The staff especially Gino were courteous, pleasant and only too willing to ensure there was nothing more we needed. The breakfasts were varied and plentifull. All in all a most pleasant and enjoyable stay u No complaints at all.
Very nice man in the reception, room was clean, breakfast was good and tasty and the location is great.good value for the mony!
Excellent location in the center but without noise, very convenient to lake front, castle, best restaurants and public transport.
The best feature of the hotel was the location as it is right in the heart of the town close to the harbour, restaurants, castle and shopping. The staff were very nice and the room clean and functional although the facilities were basic. The only thing I was dissapointed in was the quality of the breakfast. I wasn't expecting much but I did feel there was a lack in basic items such as yogurt (on some days) eggs drinking chocoalte and some fruit.
We were attending a friend's wedding at the Castle in Malcesine, and this hotel was ideally located for this event. Very good value for money for our 3 night stay - the room was clean and attended to each day of our stay. Very helpful and friendly staff. Being right in the streets of Malcesine, it became noisy fairly early in the morning - but this was a small price to pay.
Stayed here to attend a friend's wedding at the castle. Lovely place, Gino very helpful, providing us with a free card for the carpark which saved us a lot of money. Room was spotless, wardrobes had a funny smell though so we didn't put our clothes in. Nothing fancy but cosy and friendly for the money. Would recommend and would stay again.
As a solo traveller the room was of a decent standard and always kept clean have stayed in many single rooms often shoved somewhere at the side ,this was one of the better rooms in which i have stayed given the price . The staff were always helpful when i needed them and left me to myself which suits me . Yhe Hotel itself was in an excellent location within the town . A pub next door which had football on being a big footie fan that was good with being away on an International weekend .Good value for the price would stay again if or when i go back. The only minor thing is being so central dont have an early night if there is live music on nearby .
Central position. Because of central position, there was some noise on an evening from nearby entertainment.
The location is exellent and price
Location - right in the middle of everything. 2 minute walk to the lake (go round the castle if you want to go for a dip). Easy access to shops and bars. They also provide free parking if you ask and breakfast was fine! No balcony or air conditioning - but it is a cheap and cheerful hotel!
Excellent lakeside location and very friendly and helpfull staff. I think that the overly "trendy" feel of the hotel tho may put off slightly older travellers. Excellent value for money and would go back again.
central position and views over the lake
Very different from other hotels - new, but very rough interiors and special solutions. Staff very friendly and helpful. Good breakfast
The view of the lake Garda from the balcony.
