Best Manapouri hotelsShow all
Pros: all great, very cosy room with nice kitchen, great coffee, and a super friendly host who gave us great advice on where to go around manapouri. even had a well equipped laundry so we could do a bit of washing
Pros: Staying on an alpaca farm adds an attractive angle to a B & B, run by a lovely couple . Very helpful and knowledgable about the area , we enjoyed our stay with them and used it as a base to return to after our overnight on doubtful sound. The property is a few minutes drive from the harbour and conveniently close if the Kepler track is on the list. All the conveniences we needed for the 4 nights , we would return with pleasure .
Pros: Hosts were very welcoming and friendly. Apartment had everything you need including coffee, tea, milk, shampoo, soap and all kitchen appliances except oven. There was a toaster oven even needed. If you get there around 5-5:30pm you can help feed the alpacas which was awesome! 10 minute drive to rainbow reach which is part of the Kepler track and about 18 minute drive from downtown Te Anau where there are plenty of places to eat.
Pros: Helped feed the Alpaca on our first evening. Hosts super friendly and facilities compact but all we needed.
Pros: Lovely location just outside the town. We loved having the alpacas nearby. The accommodation was very clean and comfortable with a nice little garden and we would liked to have stayed longer - maybe another time. Definitely on our 'return to' list.
Pros: We had an incredible stay here! We met Jessie and the beautiful alpacas. We were very lucky to have a walk around meeting them all and feeding them, and Jessie told us so much fascinating information about them. It was such a treat! We were so sad to leave and go to our next hotel with no alpacas! They also have two beautiful friendly cats who loved a fuss and smoothe. Not only was that part of our stay amazing, the cottage is brilliant as well. Sat overlooking the lovely gardens, it was very well equipped with a good kitchen (hob, fridge, sink, dishwasher, kettle) and stocked with essentials (tea, coffee, oil, flour, seasonings) which was very useful. The bedroom was peaceful and very comfortable. The bathroom was very clean and spacious, with a very useful utility room attached with a washing machine, dryer, ironing board, clothes airer. The location is great, just a few minutes drive from Manapouri and the local shop and boat tour pickup point. Manapouri itself was a beautiful little place and we wished we had more time to enjoy it not just 1 night. You will love everything about your stay here I assure you!
Pros: Fantastic place, spacious, well equipped. I never had so truthful ad photos before. If only we had more days. Perfect starting point for Kepler track. Hosts were amazing. Alpacas extremely cute
Pros: The cottage was very nice, well located (very praticable for a day in Milford Sound) and with all the facilities (even an oven, a dishwasher, washing machine and dryer!). We had a great stay. We enjoyed the view over the mountains, and were happy to be able to feed the alpacas! Jessie and Ray were very friendly, it was a pleasure to meet them.
Pros: Beautiful friendly cat who was a great host and cute alpacas, makes a relaxing and happy stay, property has everything you need
Cons: Would of been nice to meet hosts, and understand more about the Alpacas. Went to store and stayed around with Alpacas for 90 mins.
Pros: Meeting the hosts and their gorgeous alpacas. Learned so much and were incredibly lucky to be there when a baby arrived. Jessie makes exquisite scarves etc from alpaca fleeces.
Pros: Alpacas are really cuddley and soft and cute and fluffy and ........
Cons: I couldn't take an Alpaca home cause my wife wouldn't let me! I mean we have a garden and lawns.

Pros: Gorgeous setting with great position. Friendly and attentive host.
Pros: Awesome host, lovely charming house. Best bed we've slept in, in a while. Love the history that comes with the place.
Pros: The building is a colonial mix with fixtures that fit right in with the are of the propert. Rooms are very well furnished with large comfortable beds. Breakfasts were very good. Rob the owner was a wonderful host very helpful giving advice about the area. View of the lake from our bedroom was spectacular .
Pros: Murrells is a restored historic home in a peaceful, beautiful setting on the edge of spectacular Lake Manapouri - a welcome refuge from bustling, touristy Te Anau. Lovely gardens and lakeside trails, and a short drive to Kepler's Track. Rob - the owner - is welcoming, solicitious, friendly, helpful, and cooked up a fine breakfast! We left feeling rested and refreshed.
Cons: Accommodation is clean but pretty basic; it's an old house so the walls are thin and sound carries, and the plumbing is of a similar vintage.
Pros: Excellent friendly staff. Lovely breakfast. Comfy room. Wonderful location
Pros: Host Rob Murrell was extremely accommodating and gracious. And BTW, the croissants were outstanding. Room was spotless.
Pros: Location was spectacular and a beautiful old home. Rob was very accommodating and friendly. He even gave us a drink and nibbles to enjoy on the gorgeous verandah on arrival. Robs family have been running this property as a guest home for many many years, so he is very knowledgeable about the area and its history.
Pros: A lovely stay at a beautiful historic guest house with views of the lake. Lovely breakfast.
Pros: Location beautiful & convenient with friendly hosts in an historical house with a tasty breakfast. Perfect place to stay for a boat trip to Doubtful Sound.
Located in Manapouri, Manapouri Lakeview Motor Inn is within a 15-minute drive of Lake Manapouri and Te Anau Golf Course. Featured amenities include a 24-hour front desk, luggage storage, and laundry facilities. Free self parking is available onsite.
Pros: Window with good view. Unlimited wifi.
Cons: Very basic facility, heater is not warm enough.
Cons: We checked in after 9pm and had to collect the keys from the pub next door as the reception was closed. The room given to us was 605 and had not been refurbished. However we found that the rooms in the lower level had been refurbished and modern. The room given to us was dated and in poor condition. The bathroom floor had an indent and was unstable when walking over. The bath area was extremely old and in poor condition. The reception staff was unfriendly and not helpful.
Pros: View over lake
Cons: The photos on booking.com were very deceiving and didn't show the true state of the facilities.
Pros: The bed was warm and snuggly
Pros: Direct access to Doubtful sounds: a must go! and very few other accomodations in town.
Cons: Rather old motel with not very engaging back access to rooms. Bathroom outdated.
Pros: Love all the power points, the bath
Cons: Tea was stale.
Pros: View out to lake
Cons: No electric blankets Remote for tv was flat Shower curtain too short so water all over bathroom floor
Pros: Nice, on-site restaurant with good service.
Cons: Wifi inadequate - too slow for online banking. Double bed's mattress was worn out. TV remote wasn't working.
Pros: The unit was chosen for it's location and was ideal. Although it was starting to show it's age, it was clean, tidy and comfortable. The view of the lake and mountains were "to die for" - absolutely beautiful. An attached Bar & Restaurant were also a bonus, and the staff friendly and helpful.
Cons: Ran out of hot water for the shower - possibly due to a large group being booked in at the same time. This didn't stop us from booking in a further night.
Pros: We were impressed with the menu at the restaurant & each had a beautiful meal.
Cons: All goid
